Tab At The Arlington Ballroom in Tonbridge and Malling

Bar tender couldn't hear or couldn't remember drink orders and my friend was charged nearly double (£9 more) what I was charged for the same two drinks. £20.75 seemed very steep for two drinks. This is not London. Went to get drinks from a local pub in the end. Disappointing. Would not return at those prices.

We recently hosted our christening reception at the Arlington and were very impressed with both the venue and the staff. Our party decorations (along with a cake) were left with the venue a couple of days before and were put up and arranged beautifully by the staff, just how we’d envisaged. It was nice not to have the worry and stress of doing this ourselves. The buffet lunch was delicious and served on time. It was lovely to have our own playlist played through Spotify and special thanks to Stefan who tripled up as a fabulous events manager, DJ and entertainer for the many children who attended! All our guests were very happy and well looked after by all staff. Thank you for making it such a seamlessly easy and enjoyable occasion for us. Would highly recommend the Arlington

I don't typically write bad reviews, especially when my meal didn't cost me a penny! But I would not like people to make the mistake of booking next Christmas unless considerable improvements are made! My former work colleagues invited me as someone had pulled out last minute. I had to have their order, but thats OK as I am not fussy. The soup was bland- I had to ask for salt and pepper to give it some flavor! I then had the roast beef- the vegetables were a rationed portion! The christmas pudding was small. And service was so slow, that I couldn't wait any longer for the actual party to start as I needed to get home. Very disappointing Christmas party- would not recommend in future. I posted pictures on social media and people commented on how unappetizing the meal looked!

Beautiful venue for the Christmas Party night. Very well organised night. Place names with our menu choices on our tables. Food was disappointing. Nice salmon mouse starter. The flavour of the beef in the roast beef dinner was good but it must have been reheated, as it was like shoe leather. I chose badly with the vegan roulade for dessert, it wasn't very nice, I couldn't eat it but a waitress did swap it for me. Bar was very busy, it took a long time to get drinks. And the music was too loud over dinner, struggled to hear each other. Spoilt the socialising as you could only talk up close to one person as it was so noisy. Disco afterward - dance floor busy which was good. Good location.

This was a good night spent with work colleagues but the food was a let down. The portions except for dessert were small and the quality poor. Never had three sprouts served as a portion before. The turkey was bone dry and the pig in blanket undercooked. The stuffing ball minute. The gravy watery. No wonder no one asked whether our meals were satisfactory. No doubt they didn’t want to know. If you are charging forty pounds please provide adequate food how difficult can it be to serve a roast turkey dinner..

We booked our engagement party back in November 2021. I have had regular contact with Lisa each month regarding the party. She has been so helpful throughout the whole process. Always available to contact at all times of the day/night. We had the Best night ever. The venue was absolutely perfect. Classy venue. fabulous DJ. - everyone danced all night. Delicious food. Outstanding service from all the team. Our night couldn’t have been anymore perfect. We didn’t want the night to end and so sad it’s over. Couldn’t recommend Arlington rooms & the team any more. Just truly amazing. It was our dream party. 🥂💍🧡🍾🥳

April 2022 Held a Gatsby themed 21st birthday party at the Arlington Ballroom for our daughter. Absolutely amazing venue. Very competitive price. In house DJ was excellent and got the party going. Had pizzas freshly baked from the pizza oven during the evening. Staff were amazing - friendly, polite and a credit to the venue. Couldn't recommend this venue enough.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th birthday party at the Arlington Ballroom last weekend. We had a fantastic night, along with our guests. Many commented on how beautiful the venue was. The staff were helpful in fulfilling our requirements. Thank you for making our night so special!

Attended the Arlington to view the venue not too long ago. Was more than impressed with the venue itself and after an hour of going through the details of my mums surprise 50th Birthday, I paid my £500 deposit. 20 minutes after leaving the venue, I received a phone call explaining that the person who just so happened to view the venue before me, had actually booked the venue for that date and all they could do was offer me another date!! To take my money and not even remember that the people that had arrived ‘just before me’ had actually booked that date is disgusting. I asked for a refund and was told to text my bank details over which I did so immediately to be told that they would send them on Monday! Monday then came and went and no funds had arrived in my account, they arrived on Tuesday and with absolutely no explanation. To top it off, I have now been unable to secure another venue and so have had to tell my mum that we unfortunately cannot plan the party we had hoped for her. The Arlington have completely ruined my mums birthday and I am appalled at the incompetence of the lady that failed to even disclose that someone else was interested in that date, should I have known that I would have requested an earlier booking to view the venue or simply not wasted my time! Would not recommend this venue to anybody and I hope they understand how much business they have really lost! Disgrace.

Had work Christmas party here which cost £40 per head. Starter of prawns & smoked salmon was very mean- my piece of smoked salmon was approximately 1"x1". Roast turkey didn't have any sage & onion stuffing, 2 small slices of turkey,2 roast potatoes, 1 piece roast parsnip & seasonal veg was cabbage. No sprouts, no separate gravy-very small portion & not particularly well cooked. My Christmas pudding was also very small & my friend felt that 4 portions would have made an adequate helping. Long queue for bar-I don't recommend.

Just got in from a work Christmas party at the Arlington rooms. First impressions on arrival - many people, small bar, slow and under trained bar staff. It took 20 or so minutes to get a drink. The Prosecco - Canti (currently on offer for £7.00 in Tesco plus 25% off 6 bottles or more) cost £23. We paid £31.95 for a three course meal with disco. The plan was - seating at 7.30 and food at 7.45. The starter came out at 8.30 and the main, 9.45!! Dessert was served at 11pm - hilarious! Sadly, the food was poor quality, the sea bass was dry - like it had been sat under a heated light for a good hour, the arancini was tasteless, as was the vegan roulade. The bar ran out of glasses…. And jugs…. I can see from a previous review that the feedback states staff shortages. If you are that short of staff - don’t seat all those people!! There were easily 120 covers in there. There was absolutely no sign of anyone who resembled anyone that knew what they were doing! Or anyone that was ‘front of house’. I honestly feel that I have had £32 stolen from my pocket, and I don’t write negative reviews lightly. Sort it out. Re think your strategy… because I for one, will not be returning.

All will be explained......First visit was 'First Class ' looked forward to a return, 3 weeks later a return visit for the Main Menu and Pizza, 45 min wait for food, and we were the only people there for 30 minutes, 2 12in Pizza for £15, they were never 12in, a bit misshaped, the palma ham was in massive slices and I mean massive and not cut, not much cheese to talk about, but looked like a whole bag of rocket plonked on top (you can see it in my photo), took 80% of it off, base was a too thick and chewy not stretched difficult to cut with a knife, something made in a food class at school, Beer Battered Fish was good, small of course with a handful of skinny fries priced at £13.50 ok for light eaters as it will never fill a hungry person, the Seafood Pasta was a strange one, no garlic, no chilly(Its in the description) and just some small frozen mixed seafood mixed in, a bit creamy with slight tomato flavour priced at a massive £17 was way over priced, it was crying out for real seafood, mussels, clams in shells, and maybe a large tiger prawn complete with head (we live is a seafood town) would work wonders on this dish, can't recommend that one, well below standard expected, so food was a let down in fact nothing to warrant a return.....but heres the thing, service is excellent and they do listen, pointed out everything and they took it onboard and passed it on, drinks taken off the bill as a gesture, and then theres the 2 chefs, the chef we had before not there that evening/day, so a second chef was on, might have been his first time making pizza, and (non)seafood pasta, hence the long wait and bag of rocket on top(see photo) guess we all have to start somewhere, but not at the expense of customers food, so we was very underwhelmed even more so as it was a long time coming, the build up went flat, we got told a new Menu could be coming, sure we will be back, depends who's cheffing, but how will we know. We arrived 30 minutes before the £5 Cocktail deal at 6pm, so stuck with a beer instead of 4 cocktails we would have brought, Anyway wanted it to be 5 stars, should be 3 stars, but its 4 as service made up for it as they are so nice. Will return and will check out the new Menu when it comes.

Always walk past here, not easy to peek in and it can be easily missed if you never knew it was there. Opted for the £13.50 2 course, limited options and smaller portion sizes which is understandable, so first the food, stunning, well made and presented, the arancini with a superb tomato sauce (try not to lick the plate clean no matter how much you would like to), mains Coq Au Vin was fantastic, all so well made. sides extra at £3.50, did have the salad which was the smallest side salad I ever seen, was nice but small enough it was served in a dessert sized ramekin, I did mention it, and was was sorted out nicely, service genuinely spot on, the young girl was delightful, approachable very pleasant as was the young chap (didn't want to leave him out), front of house/service makes so much difference every place in Leigh should be like this, but they're not, then there was the half price fantastic Cocktails, at £4, beer on tap, say no more..!! Will be returning soon for the Pizza and main menu choices, go try for yourself, you will be guaranteed a great experience.

In the last couple of months we have visited 3 times and every time we cannot fault this restaurant. The food is fantastic and there is a good choice for both children and adults- not to mention the specials which always make choosing a bigger dilemma! A special mention has to go to the waitresses, particularly Lauren, who we’ve been lucky enough to have serve us each time. Nothing is too much trouble and she has it just right- attentive but without being too ‘in your face’. We love it here, would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again!
