Swoon Wapping Wharf in Bristol, City of

Just really need to post a message in praise of the two guys who were running the Wapping Wharf store yesterday. Bristol was baking hot and so Swoon was a magnet for people wanting ice cream, and there were queues all day. Struan and Danila were working so hard to serve everyone as quickly as they could, and yet despite how stressful a day it must have been, they were friendly and helpful to every single person I saw them serve. I thought it was important to say something so that whoever might read this knows those guys went above and beyond for everyone yesterday!

Gelato was delicious but the store itself looked a little sad. The interior doesn’t really live up to the standards you’d expect with the price & taste of the gelato & when you compare it to other swoon stores. I often go to the college green swoon, & there is clearly more effort put into the decor there. Wapping wharf feels like it has been forgotten about, which is quite sad. However I can’t complain about the gelato itself, the cheesecake was to die for!

Firstly, excellent gelato. Probably the best I've had outside Italy. It's pretty steeply priced and the choice/availability is limited, but fine for a treat of this quality. The downside is the shop itself. I remember when Swoon first opened at Wapping Wharf, feeling disappointed that they seemed to have opened the doors before the interior design/decoration had been done. It felt a little 'desperate to take the cash'. Fast forward a year and it still seems like it's being unpacked. Obviously this doesn't directly affect the product, but it's a shame when the customer experience is let down by apathy or cost-saving or whatever is preventing them from doing the interior to the same standard as their other outlets; it doesn't ring true with what is a very premium brand.

Love this little gelato spot! Always went to the Swoon on College Green but never realised there was a shop in Cargo!! Staff were friendly and the gelato was as delicious as always. A must visit spot especially when the sun is out!

Sad to see that the vegan choice has declined here - only two flavours. They used to make a vegan chocolate sorbet but have now changed the recipe and added dairy. I asked twice to be able to have a cornet but staff refused to let me have one as they had run out of the correct size and wouldn't give me a larger one.
