Possibly the worst sandwich I have ever tasted. I can only describe the bread as poor quality thin sliced white bread, the cheese could not be seen, there was a generous amount of caramelised jam! over priced at £6.50! The tea was reasonable. The cakes looked nice.

We had only planned on popping in to Lyndhurst for a few minutes. However, we found this lovely shop. We were only wanting a tea\coffee but once we saw the lovely cakes on offer we had to indulge. I am very disappointed that we do not live closer to Lyndhurst because we would certainly make this a weekly place to have a snack. The coffee was excellent. Served hot with a lovely biscuit on the side. My husband had a toasted tea cake and declared it to be the best he had eaten in years. I had a slice of their lovely Dorset apple cake. It was beyond good. I was extremely impressed. The gentleman who served us was very friendly and could not have done more for us. We would go out of our way to make sure we come here again.

Just stopped off for a quick bite while out on the motorbike and what a find. Sitting outdoors watching the world go by was fabulous, and only exceeded by the service and food. I had the coronation chicken sandwich, home made filling, that came with an equally homemade coleslaw. Beautiful. I could eat another! So fresh, tasty, great in every aspect. The service matched; quick, attentive, informative, happy, what more do you really need? Not sure how this place ever got bad reviews, I couldn’t fault it, and I’m rather picky!

Do you want to be overcharged? Wish to have your order messed up? Do you like wishy washy tea that looks like brown dishwater? Thrive from being spoken to rudely by all members of staff? Enjoy being snapped at by the owner of the place? Then this is the place for you. I don't enjoy being one of those to complain - I am not a fussy person when it comes to food or drink. However, this afternoon I went into this 'cafe' and ordered three teas, an iced tea and a slice of chocolate cake. It came to nearly £15! The lady got the order wrong which was fine, however... No apology! When it came to drinking the tea, it was like sipping on hot dishwater. When I went back in to explain that it was not very nice, the owner grabbed the tea out of my father in law's hand and snapped 'well what do you want me to do?'. This by far has to be the worst cafe that I have ever visited. It's surprising to see that it is still running and open with the disgusting drinks and poor attitude towards their customers. It appears that the don't learn from their previous customers reviews and take on any feedback.

After a mammoth lunch we wanted to top it off with a sweet treat so having walked past Lyndhurst Coffee shop earlier and inspecting their delicious looking cakes we decided this was the place to get our sweet fix. So glad that we did as the gentleman serving us was hilariously funny, very chatty and promised that their Victoria sponge was second to none! Initially my husband and I ordered one to share when it arrived - my husband took one spoonful and said it was delicious and all his! I had to go back to order another one! The cakes a scrummy and delicious, the service is warm and helpful. I’d recommend without hesitation.

My partner and I were enticed in by the range of tea and drinks (my parter being a huge tea lover). When we queried what tea was available what we got was the most blunt, condescending and rude response I’ve ever seen in my years of hospitality. Not only were they extremely unhelpful but also used belittling terminology toward my partner, which subsequently left her in tears. All in all, one of the worst experiences of customer service. If you walk in the door and see an old man with no hair behind the counter, I suggest you walk back out.

Popped in for a late lunch [3pm] and this was no problem to the staff. We both had jacket potatoes, and these were lovely, soft and fluffy inside, topped with a very generous portion of prawns and accompanied by a little dressed salad. Sat on sofas inside, but nice seating on the pavement too. Reasonably priced. Staff wore customised visors, hand sanitiser readily available.

Visited here today as we love to support local coffee houses. We ordered two paninis, a scone and a pastry. They were all very tasty and presented well. The service was friendly and the manager had a good sense of humour. The only down side was the flat white didn't have the best taste and flavour but will certainly return in the future.

After perusing many of the eateries in Lyndhurst, we decided to stop here for a spot of lunch. Unfortunately, we made the wrong choice. Two sandwiches, along with two coffees set us back nearly £20. The coffees were watery at best, and there was certainly no ‘service with a smile’ today. Even though the sandwiches came with a complimentary bag of Quavers (clearly labeled ‘from a multipack, not to be sold separately’) this did not make our lunch feel value for money. We left disappointed, but safe in the knowledge we could enjoy our Quavers later that afternoon...

There are many eateries to choose from in Lyndhurst and we would probably have missed this lovely little gem was it not for the fact they had table and chairs outside. With my elderly mother being a smoker the choice was made for us. What a lovely quirky little place. Whilst the toasted sandwiches were nice they were expensive £8.25 for bacon Brie and cranberry. Which included eggcupful of slaw and salad garnish. Whether it was because it was a Saturday and not usual staff but treatment of young lad and girl was not good. Poor lad just couldn’t do anything correct In managers eyes from filling slaw containers to telling customers toilet was busy. He was equally harsh dealing with one of the young girls. We all felt rather uncomfortable with the guys dealing with his staff and were glad to leave

Dealing with a cafe full of customers, one man (presumably the owner) saw to everyone in a friendly approachable manner. We bother had sausage sandwiches which were wonderful and perfectly cooked. My husband had a strawberry milkshake which was refilled for free and I had a latte. We were served at our table and went to the till to pay - with no fuss. The cafe is filled with ammusing phrases and there are board games and toys for children if you fancy more than one cup of coffee during in your visit. And the best bit - dogs are welcome. Extremely grumpy and rude owner. The first visit on Easter Saturday we hoped to have lunch here, we read the menu clearly displayed in the window and chose what we would have. When my husband went in to order, the rude man serving informed my husband that he was on his own so was only serving drinks and ice-creams, fair enough although a little disappointing, the problem was the way he spoke to my husband (as if to say that my husband should of known this). The next day we thought we would give them a second chance as we were only wanting drinks and ice-cream, this time the owner/manager was rude to his waitress for allowing my husband to come inside the cafe to choose which flavour of ice-cream he would like as he wasn’t sure what was on offer. There is a sign outside saying Staff Wanted, I’m not surprised, if that’s the way he speaks to his staff and customers!

Out for an afternoon wander with family (including the dog), decided we fancied stopping for a cuppa and possibly a light snack. There is lots of choice in Lyndhurst, but as we were ‘with dog’ the choices were reduced. We opted for Sweet Chillies because of its charming coziness and glorious smells from the kitchen and were not disappointed! 2 of us had the peanut butter hottie and the other 2 the Jaffa cake hot choc, both very different but equally delicious, for food we opted for the toasties and they were as tasty as they looked and smelled. Will most definitely be returning to try the various hot drink choices, their stunning looking cakes and soak up the warm, inviting, cozy atmosphere ❤️

Been here 3 times whilst in Lyndhurst for family business. Good service each time with good coffee. One lunchtime I had the homemade vegetable soup which was very tasty. The 3rd time my wife wanted a danish pastry; I declined as it was just after Christmas. As it was huge I ended up eating half and it was delicious. The sayings on the walls are a mixture of humour and providing food for thought and create an individual atmosphere. A mix of furniture, including settees which look out onto the street, providing distractions over your coffee. I generally like to try out different cafes when in a town for a time or on repeated visits but Sweet Chillies draws me back.

The woman serving was very rude and miserable and when we asked if we could get sandwiches we were told " we do toasties" we told the lady we would look at the menu to see if we wanted something and she rudely replied, do you want to order drinks while for now, we told her we wouldn't order as we really wanted a sandwich so might not stay if they had nothing on the menu. Myself and my friends were visiting Lyndhurst whilst camping and decided to have a lunch stop. We all decided we would support the towns local business and have lunch at this cafe and not costa, however I wished we gone to costa! The manager of this established is so rude! My friend is dairy intolerant and asked would it be ok to have her drink with soya milk. Only to be served it with milk! The manager came out and removed the drink with no apology. Ok fine, mistakes happen. That's not why I'm writing this review. I went into pay, to which he looks at me and says " I suppose u all want to pay separately!" To which I replied "is that ok" and he rudely rolled his eyes at me and said "well, you would wouldn't you!" How rude!!! I shouldn't have to pay the whole tables bill for his convenance! I went back out and sat down, and each one of my friends went in, paid came out and said they've never met anyone quite so rude! A small space, but the owners have arranged it in a low key and cute manner, so though some seating is awkwardly placed and uncomfortable, it is not objectionable. Service was a little blunt, though to be fair we entered at a busy time. What we ordered was not available - the suggestion from the waitress was a meat alternative, when we said we were non-meat eaters she said she'd leave us to think about it. The menu is not that big, and it only took a moment to find an alternative. Some patience, and preferably assistance, would have been appreciated. Small details perhaps, but these things matter, and it would have been quicker for her and for us if she'd simply taken that time to point out the only real alternative on her menu.

Having stayed in a nearby hotel for 2 nights, my daughter and I stopped here for lunch on our way home. This small space is so cosy and the decor so fascinatingly eclectic (check out the loo) that it's almost worth a visit for that alone. The food however is in a class of its own. Being vegetarian we chose the vegetarian soup option, although squash (or was it sweet potato?) and apple seemed an unusual combination. It was, however, absolutely delicious. We followed this with a sharing platter which included homemade humous, coleslaw, chutney and salad - all equally delicious. Friendly, helpful, attentive service with intelligent and informative conversation means that Sweet Chillies cannot be faulted. Try it. You won't be disappointed!

Very quirky unusual tea room, with great decor and interesting wall quotations. All totally spoilt by the obnoxious guy,who presumably is the manager, he has little sense of customer service and takes after Mr Fawlty for his approach to the paying public.

Lovely quirky little venue. Went with children and had some different drinks including peanut butter hot chocolate and a ginger hot chocolate. Cake and coffee also nice and reasonably priced. Friendly service...

Went here Sunday afternoon for a quick tea and scone. After being seated in the cafe we waited for around 30 minutes for our order to be taken. Just as we were about to leave the lady came over to us so we ordered. There was a group next to us who had arrived shortly after us, they also ordered tea and scones. We received our tea about 15 minutes later but no scones, they had forgotten these and it took an extra 15 minutes to receive. (Meanwhile the group next to us had already finished theirs). The scones were good and reasonably priced but the staff just seemed to be all over the place with no organisation and no apology for forgetting our order and keeping us waiting for such a long time. Luckily we were not in a rush as we were there around 2 hours. It was bizarre as it didn’t even seem particularly busy.

We stopped in here, it is a very different cake and tea shop having a somewhat eclectic decor which I found very pleasant. We were pleased to find this little lunch stop that allowed us to take our dog in as it had started to rain. We had a very pleasant snack each with coffee which we enjoyed and the owner even brought our dog some treats.A very pleasant experience!

We had coffee and it tasted like poor quality instant coffee. Looks quite quirky but this hides how uncomfortable the seats are. There are far nicer places to eat and drink near by.

Came here for lunch. Ordered panini and toasties. Very friendly young staff. My food arrived 5 minutes earlier than my wife`s, which was not ideal as we wanted to eat together. Also,I am not keen on eating off a wooden slab, but prefer a proper plate. Anyway, we enjoyed the food.

The tea room/coffee shop is lovely, really nice and quirky. The ice cream was delicious, the Oreo milkshake wasn't amazing but nice enough. Loved the quiz cards on the tables, great touch and gave us a good laugh. However, this is all ruined by, who I assume, is the manager/owner. He made a quite uncomfortable atmosphere, he was very rude to both customers and staff. The waiting-on staff were lovely, but were being spoken to belittlingly and in one instance pushed around by the 'gentle'man. I recommend you treat your staff with the respect their due and make that extra effort to smile every now and again - it will go a long way.

We had paninis and ice tea. The food was great and the cakes looked amazing! Unfortunately we were too full to try them! Would definitely go back.

A nice tea room/ coffee shop with a relaxed comfortable vibe and friendly staff. We popped in just to get the kids an ice cream but took a look at the menu and decided to stop a little longer! You can either sit on a comfy sofa or in a booth and if you want to keep the kids (and adults) entertained during your visit there are shelves of games and toys for them too. Certainly worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth - we were impressed with 'The Works' hot chocolate and the Giant Muffin & ice cream, there was also a great choice in ice creams too for the kids.

No idea why this place is called sweet chillies . It is totally misleading. It is charming tea room ,very quaint. The staff were friendly & chatty & made us very welcome. It has a selection of toasted sandwiches, cakes & amazing varieties of scooped ice.

My friends and I visited on a Sunday afternoon from out of town at a local’s recommendation. I loved the atmosphere - lots of plants, lots of seating. There weren’t many customers, so it wasn’t loud. We were hoping for afternoon tea, but sadly it is not available on Sundays. Some of us got the Sunday Roasts instead. More in our party (of 10) would have liked to try the Sunday Roast, but they only sold it to some of us due to limited staff & presumably limited ingredients. The rest ordered sandwiches. I’m sorry to say I was not impressed with the starter or main course (the meat, potatoes and vegetables were a bit dry), but I did enjoy the crème brûlée for dessert. Afterward, we visited a gin distillery around the corner. They allowed us samples, and I was impressed with the flavor and smoothness.

Visited today, staff very welcoming. Cooked breakfast was very good, love that you also get marmalade with 2 rounds of toast with it as well. They had other breakfast options on their specials board too. Good value for money. Would certainly visit again. Thankyou.

Best fish and chips in a long time… the small size of the kiosk had me convinced it would just be drinks etc, but oh, how wrong I was! Such a variety, quick and friendly service

Super little cafe with utterly delicious baked breads, pastries and buns. The sourdough loaves on their rustic shelves look & smell wonderful! Enjoyed a perfectly brewed coffee from their own roastery and a vanilla cream bun which was heavenly. The staff were so happy and friendly, I have to mention them all so thank you Harriet, Charlotte & Izzy - what a lovely little place!
