Sweet Caroline's American Diner in Poole

Good quality, clean budget accommodation right in the centre of Poole. Excellent value for money. Great breakfast and friendly staff. No hesitation in recommending.

We visited for one night while attending a friend's party. The room was basic but priced accordingly. It was clean and comfortable and was perfect for our occasion. Breakfast in the morning was great, pancakes and maple syrup- when staying above an American diner you have to have a classic American breakfast!! Michael who cooks the food, waits the tables and cleans the rooms was a very sociable man. Had a great long chat with him while we ate. what a great member of staff to have running the place.

My wife and i had a really good stay here and have only good things to say about the place and the staff. The rooms are just what you expect for the price, cheap and cheerful and the location in the old town just 5minutes from the harbour was perfect. The week we stayed the owners were on holiday leaving the more than capable Michael to run things, his breakfasts set us up for the rest of the day< Michael despite being very busy was a fantastic host , being attentive and very easy to chat to., we will stay here again on a return to Poole

I don’t normally post negative reviews but I feel I must on this occasion,room 3 .Toilet doesn’t stop flushing ,Basin tap is loose and spinning ,shower head is broken and sprays everywhere other than where it should ,shower doors don’t join together so water goes all over the floor ,shower waste blocked until I had to clean the hair ball out of it ,we met a nice gentleman who was cleaning a room out and funny enough we met a very similar man down stairs cooking and serving breakfast ( twins 😂😂,no same man ) . A little over worked poor guy . I know the rooms are competitively priced but having functional items that you pay for is expected ,we won’t be using these premises again . I hope the solo cook and cleaner gets a wage rise too 😂😂

My friends and I came for a quite weekend away. The three days we stayed were so lovely. The food was delicious, especially the English breakfast. The rooms were cosy and so clean, and the staff where so friendly. They were nice to chat with and gave us some recommendations for fun things to do while we here. My favourite had to be the milkshakes and the chicken and waffles. I would absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be coming back.

We were very disappointed with our stay at sweet Caroline’s, The right ups both on Trip advisor and booking.com were excellent so that’s why we booked, it said free parking but it wasn’t was costly in the multi-storey. The rooms were very small not very clean, toilet seat loose, shower poor. we had to ask for clean towels and toilet paper, Rooms were not cleaned while we were there rubbish etc. The Breakfasts were of a poor standard they had not got some of the items on the menu, I ordered a bagel for my wife when it came it had mould on it.I would say to people who book don’t always believe the write ups like we did (must have had friends and family to give them a good write up)

Stayed over last Wednesday with my dog, staff very friendly and welcoming. Room beautifully clean and decor fresh. Breakfast was spot on. Highly recommended 👍

Went for breakfast, so pleased we tried it! received gorgeous authentic American food in a decent portion size for a fair price. It’s set in a lovely quaint little diner with very friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended

Was craving waffles one miserable morning, first place we went to was closed so we phoned ahead and mentioned we specifically really wanted waffles, lady on the phone said she would get batter ready for us, so we off we hurried to waffle paradise! Had the chicken and waffles and it was to die for. Satisfied the craving, had lovely chats with the owner and her daughter (who popped over the highstreet to offer tea and a muffin to some down on their luck folks out in the rain). Lovely experience and made a rainy day that much brighter. Shall have to go back and try the milkshakes sometime.

Well I took my 3 grandchildren to this wonderful diner in Poole yesterday and what can I say. Firstly the staff were so friendly and welcoming and more than happy for us to sit outside and enjoy the sun. Pondering over the delicious menu we decided on waffles, pancakes & smoothies! The waffles were freshly made with an abundant choice of ice cream and toppings as were the pancakes! The snickers milkshake is to die for and the American breakfast was just superb! The portion are large and the prices are very reasonable-Highly recommended and definitely worth a visit!! Needless to say I was a very popular granny for the rest of the day!!

Poole is a regular destination for myself and my partner, so it was a surprise in these challenging times to see a new eatery had appeared (and survived) since our last visit in December. We were looking for a light lunch and seeing the menu decided that there were plenty of offerings to fit that requirement, although I must admit it was the milkshakes that really sealed the deal. As others have commented, the service from the moment you enter, in fact BEFORE you enter, is excellent. Very friendly and helpful. We sat at the front of the diner near the till/drinks area, although there is additional seating further back. The decor is as you would expect and in the ‘American Diner’ style, as is the background music which was loud enough to enjoy but now drown out conversations. There is a varied menu which includes the expected burgers and hot dogs, but on this occasion we opted for the bacon & egg bagel and the french toast with bacon. Drinks were both large milkshakes. The drinks arrived promptly and were delicious. Just a note that whipped cream tops the milkshakes. Our meals arrived shortly afterwards and both plates and the food was very hot. I’m pleased to say that both were very enjoyable and I happily recommend them. We so much enjoyed our visit that we returned later in the week for a breakfast and selected the American Breakfast. Once again the service was fantastic and I’m pleased to report that the quality of the food was excellent. I would happily recommend a visit here if you are in Poole, we will certainly be returning.

Popped into Sweet Caroline’s this morning for breakfast on a day trip to Poole. Simple, uncomplicated menu. Both of us decided to go for the American Breakfast with unlimited tea/ coffee and we’re so glad we did. The bacon was crispy but not burnt like some places, and the pancakes perfectly fluffy. Both ladies on shift were lovely and friendly. Gutted we didn’t get to pop in for a milkshake later on in the day. Until the next time we’re down! Thanks again for a lovely friendly breakfast! :)
