I live a mile from Brome hall and have never visited this place before! Why I ask myself? Took my mum for afternoon tea today. A warm friendly welcome. The tea was awesome. Couldn't fault at all. Perhaps next time and yes, there will be a next, the conservatory would have been wiser so we could have a sleep on the sofas. Sunday lunch is also on the agenda.!!

Nice meal, well presented, generous portions. A fairly short menu, which in my experience is usually a good sign. Mains around £15, starters and desserts around £6. Elegant room, plenty of space, tables not too close together, crisp white table cloths, nice cutlery and friendly service - there is nothing to dislike.

Came here for mother’s day, we wanted roger Hickman, I was gutted really, started was ok salmon and prawns nice, bread hard, very salty, butter more salt, and gravy Evan more salt, slow cooked pork was like rubber so tough, very week vegetables, left it, stuffing dry, potatoes not crispy, veg over done, beef too well done, and staff thought it was lamb, no proper glasses for water, wine glass, turkey which mum had nice, that’s it, Yorkshire was horrid, just rock hard, my husband said proberbly do better and cheaper at the Toby inn . puddings, we’re suppose to be pear and cardamon spice, with a lovely milk and whites chocolate sauce, it was served with custard, skin on Yuk, no cardoman flavour at all, I left mine and swapped for cheesecake, mum asked where was the whites chocolate sauce, to which she was ignored, cheese cake was ok, she saw a lady eating a meringue and asked why that was not on the menu, They serve to many starters, mains and desserts, try doing 1 or 2 things, then it may taste a bit better, I doubt it though. Shame, we was assured fantastic food and new owners. At least I know now.

We have eaten here on many occasions and our last visit was the best yet. The new menu is great with more choice. All the food was delicious.

I reviewed this restaurant a year ago when we first came and the food was inedible. We returned in May and it was just as atrocious, we had burnt, dry lasagne. However we've just stayed again and Eureka!! They finally have a new chef and one who can cook fantastically. Steak cooked to a perfect medium rare. Brie bites were melty in the middle and crunchy on the outside and the creme brulee gave that satisfying crack when you tapped it with the spoon. Breakfast was a massive improvement too. Eggs Benedict which was lovely but didn't have runny yolks (I'll let it slide this time). I'm so happy the food has improved as Broom Hall is so important for my family. It's where we all come to spend quality time together.

Broom hall is set in a lovely location, but the image is spoiled by the clutter that is dumped around the main entrance and hall way. A fairly decent G&T and a good selection of wines available by the glass at a slightly more reasonable price than most restaurants. We had pre booked our meals as it was a reasonably large group just two courses and coffee at a really good price. I had a steak and Ale pie which I really enjoyed followed by cheesecake which could of had a bit more berry taste,it was fantastically light though. Coffee was wet and warm but not great. We will definitely go again and have a starter as well next time.

Stayed at the hotel and booked dinner in the restaurant. HUGE disappointment. Game Terrine was dry and flavourless. Rump steak I ordered medium rate. Arrived cremated. Waitress took it away. Replacement arrived 10 minutes later also cremated. Menu said onion rings but received fried onions. Mandarin cheesecake and waitresses were the saving grace. Also had some crap store bought vinaigrette dressing on the poorly executed salad. No sauce was offered for the steak and the skin in chips were soggy. The best thing about the restaurant was the staff. Will not eat here again until they hire a chef that can cook.

Breakfasts were very good, well presented and well cooked with a very good choice on offer. The dinner menu choice was on the small side but dinners generally were excellent although something did go wrong with a starter. Prices were average for a hotel and the ambiance was a little lacking.

We went for a BBQ one Sunday and were astounded at the price of a G&T and glass of wine. One thing else that bugged us was that food was not cleared away. Would not bother going again.

Set in the beautiful period Broom Hall Hotel surrounded by wonderful gardens. I was very impressed with the food and quality of the service. The staff both in the bar and restaurant were extremely friendly and helpful and simply couldn't do enough. Very good food. My only slight grumble is they could have done with a little background music, but that's just my opinion.

Lovely evening dinner and first class breakfasts. The fish at dinner was excellent. Impressed that in the menu the sources of the ingredients were listed - many local to Norfolk. Well done!!

On arriving the staff and venue were top class and my wife and I looked forward to enjoying a good meal. The starters were acceptable but main courses not up very much. I ordered steak, which was overcooked and tasted of cardboard, this I returned and asked for a replacement medium rare again. This time it was slightly better but still no flavour. It was served with chips, onions and salad and the shop dish was just thrown on the plate, not special to look at. My wife had chicken with vegetables and again there was nothing that would make you want to return, which is a great shame!

Stopped here today after finding this on Tripadvisor. We were warmly welcomed and given the option of sitting in the bar or upstairs (very steep stairs) for waitress service. We chose the Ploughman's Lunch, where you have the options of choosing 2 options from: cheddar, Stilton, brie, prawns, beef or piri piri chicken. The plates were full of colourful & tasty food; the beef was plentiful and tender. It took us ages to get through and unfortunately didn't have room gir a dessert. Another customer couldn't manage her lunch, and she was offered the option of having it packaged up and taking it home. We will be back next time we are in the area to try something else off the menu!

Met with a friend for lunch. Lovely venue, lovely food (but rather pricey!) When we came to pay,the owner was rather abrupt! Perhaps we overstayed our welcome?! 🙃

Went for breakfast! What breakfast? No pastries, just bread and fruit. Slow service when it came to replenishing the cooked breakfast buffet and lots of empty dishes and basket. Not impressed and won't be going back.

Visiting Thursford Christmas Spectacular with my siblings, we came across this real gem of a pub restaurant with guest accommodation. Barry the friendliest landlord sorted everything from our 1st enquiry to the day of our arrival & stay and was so welcoming and kind. The pub lounge area had a roaring fire and was a home from home, with a great stocked bar and delicious food. The rooms were very comfy and spotlessly clean with all the conveniences needed, shampoo/toiletries and facilities, tea/coffee and bottled waters. Traditional breakfast in the morning was perfectly cooked and delicious, with the best black pudding requested last minute but well worth the wait! We will definitely be staying again when visiting the area. Thank you to Barry and his amazing staff for looking after us. Whilst there we spoke to other guests who had a really positive experience too. 10/10 for the super hospitality, accommodation, food & country location, keep up the good work Barry! Many thanks….Steve 🙌🤩
