Sushi Box in Hackney

We have been staying in the Z Hotel 5mins walk from this place and just fancied some sushi to take back to our room for dinner. The lovely guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful. More importantly the food was absolutely delicious! Recommended.

The quality of the fish is great but this is a bit expensive for what you get. Also we received no notification telling us the restaurant was late, we had to ask for an update via sms (as the restaurant didn't answer the phone) to be told there were some delays.

The food is very good. It is tasty and delicious and the staff are polite and friendly. The food is ready on time. I love the food from Sushi Box restaurant. I would like to recommend and to others this restaurant.

This is my third time ordering from here for lunch at work! Great quality food, hot dishes arrive HOT and the sushi is fresh and tasty. Good size portions. Now my go-to for a rainy day.

This was ok sushi. The Eel donburi was ok - however everytime I order this regardless of the place, the portion of the eel to rice and salad is so small. Uramaki (king prawn tempura) I didn't quite like the taste of it - something was a bit strange - would not order these dishes again

well, the food is not bad, but salmon is not really fresh.

Food was extremely late. Status on the app said delivered long before it arrived. Quality was poor, food that felt like it's should be hot was slightly warm. Sushi was very dense and clumpy. Most of it sadly went in the bin.

The Katsu Curry is great. Spring rolls are still my favourite though!

Excellent food and the nicest delivery guy I think I've ever had! Tofu donburi - highly recommended.

Have not even received my order!!!! Been OVER an hour and the restaurant is not even far away from me so what is the issue??

Incredibly rude. They marked it as delivered 20 minutes after the time it was due. Never arrived. Called and he was so so rude. Claimed they do not deliver to my addess then hung up straight away. I called again and he said the same without even trying to trace my order. Then said he was busy and hung up. Shocking service.

Order cancelled and I haven't received a refund.

Worst sushi I've tasted. Oil slick in gyoza box. Miso was pure liquid. No tofu. And the donburi was freezing cold and stale tasting. 90%went in bin other 9%down sink.

Do not order from this place! Worst service we have ever received in our life! Rude and unprofessional staff who have not been taught any manners and do not know how to talk to people on the phone! First of all we did not receive everything we ordered, we called to find out what happened and we were told we need to wait an hour to receive the rest of our meal, we agreed that the wait is to long and asked for a refund. We had to call up and chase our refund as it was almost midnight and my husband had work early next day. When we called to enquire about our refund the member of staff got frustrated told us he cannot give us a refund as there was no driver and hung up the phone, we called back again and as soon as he heard my husbands voice he hung up the phone again. We were left shocked by his behaviour, this is not how you behave with paying customers, absolutely disgusted by this member of staff and we hope they get rid of him before he gets rid of all the regular customers.

Soggy Sushi - Some of the boxes had hardly any fish/meat in them. Not worth the £30 spent

15min delay announced after payment. Then 35 min additional delay without any notice. It was impossible to reach the restaurant to check the status either. Had the same issue the previous time I had placed my order, only that time it was even worse as the food was almost an hour late.

Food was ok. But the Chicken Katsu Burger had barely any Katsu source on. The avocado Maki in the sushi box wasn't ripe so it was barely edible.

I will need a bowl to mix the wasabi and soy source

Food is always good but always arrives late. As soon as I placed the order it said "Sushi Box has added 25 minutes in to your delivery time", which is fair enough, but then the food arrived another 15 minutes later than predicted, which is 10 minutes faster than the last time, when it was a full hour later than predicted.

Food was stone cold. Gyoza dumplings tasteless. Miso aubergine was so salty it was inedible. Worst take away we have had in years.

Incredibly speedy delivery, good service, ordered 18 pcs maki rolls and salmon gyoza, doesn't taste very authentic, the gyoza was deep fried instead of frying it on one side so it's crunchy and soft at the same time.

I have asked them to call on my mobile phone which i called the resturant and personally asked as my little baby was asleep at night but the driver had buzzed the door and woke everyone up which i was disappointed in. The sushi was not the greatest sushi i ate everything was everywhere. I will not order from them again sorry

Can't keep to delivery time, or find it once they arrive. Exceedingly rude customer service over the phone. I would have forgiven it if the food was good, but it was worse than the service! Looked like a ready meal and arrived freezing cold. Wouldn't have paid £5 let alone £15. DO NOT EAT HERE!!

The gyoza was very 'well' done, it had burnt bits! And the vegetable tempura was soggy. The katsu curry was ok, but in general Very disappointed and unlikely to reorder again.

My edemame was old and soft, very disgusting, plus the vegetables tempura was made in a way that I haven't seen before and it was only peppers nothing else! I will never order again from this take away service I m very very disappointed! If you are looking for a good sushi don't order from this place!

Both sushi and salad is excellent but they do not bothered to give even a single pair of chopstick with it. Very annoying mistake!

I'm a regular customer of sushi box, it's actually one of my favourite sushi restaurant. I was very disappointed yesterday by the food and the timing. I was waiting more than an hour and an half for my food and when it came, one of the dishes was missing and the food wasn't look nice and wasn't tasty at all. As I sayd I'm a regular customer, I know they can do better but yesterday was very bad. :(

Food was delivered 2 hours late and no explanation was given as to why. Sushi itself was good though, but not worth the incredibly long wait, next time I'll be ordering from somewhere else.

The food was late. The quality was extremely bad and i was disgusted with the sushi. Too expensive for nothing i threw the order away couldnt finish it.

The prices are equal to the quality... Delivery was even early Love the big peaces of sachimi, however salmon is much better than tuna, prawns tempura is nice if you're hungry, the biggest surprise was calamari...hmmm usually it is calamari rings but this take away is diong something like square small peaces ..when I've seen it it was weird however when I taste it ...trust me it was mush better than normal calamari crunch...!!!! Overalls I must say that normally I'm ordering everything from tako, however they are not open at 1 in da morning and this takeaway is absolutely covering it! So , if you're ordering Japanese after 1 am this place is 100% better than sushi sien for example. And again the money for they re asking for worth it! Thanks guys Will order from you again every time when tako would be closed during the hours when im hungry !!! Xxxx

Really fast delivery although my noodles had waay too much oil in it and was quite bland. The sushi was great!

The worst! After 2 hours waiting for the delivery I called back the restaurant telling me that they prefer cancel the order or wait another 45 minutes to get it delivered...

Food arrived 90 mins after I ordered, over 30 mins later than their initial delivery time. Upon calling they offered no explanation as to why it was so late. They called back later to inform that the driver was nearby. They offered a discount on future deliveries if I ordered from them directly next time as an apology but I would not use them again

Waited 2 hours for a couple of sushi. The delivery guy was very nice though. Try to warn customers when food is going to be late, especially when it's an hour late.

I ordered two of everything and only one came. I said I'd give the food back and wait for the correct order to which I was told to keep the one I had and I would get 2 of everything just like my initial order. When the second batch came, 2:30 hours after the order, it only came one portion of each again. The food is good in this restaurant but I won't order again because I don't think they treat their customers correctly.

We ordered and received confirmation.... After an hour waiting we decide to call the restaurant and we are told that they didn't receive the complete order and they couldn't call us... What happened here? Not happy at all... And still hungry...

Extremely long delivery time. Waited 1 hour 20 mins for a few pieces of sushi. Sushi was standard and average. Avocado was barely recognisable (brown mush).

Took Over 1 hour and 20 mins to be delivered - had to call restaurant myself to see when my order would be coming. Spicy tuna uramaki wasn't very good at all! The other food was ok. Disappointed

best sushi and not expensive. have tried a few places this is the one.

Order at 12:30 Delivered at 13:50 I had to call the restaurant to get an update as on website my food was already delivered when it was far than done. No apologise received from the person who answer the call, just an "on his way, bye" Food not great. Certainly not going to order again. If your food is basic make sure you offer a really good customer service.

Food taste better the previous time we had donburi. Don't think menrui is their specialty. It was noodle stirred fried with some peppers and marinated chicken strips. Lots of chicken in the fried noodle but no other vege like cabbage and carrots like the usual Jap friend noodle. It was cook in sweet chilli sauce which was not up to my expectation. Rice burger is just rice on top and below. Nothing spacial, similar to curry chicken katsu rice. Perhaps they could bake the moulded rice. Rice came broken and scattered for rice burger not in a patty piece.

The food tasted old and poor quality

Order placed at 20:57 according to my email confirmation. Called to make sure everything was ok (to avoid waiting 2 hours like the previous time due to my order being cancelled by mistake). One hour later called again and was told the food had just left. Half an hour later I call back and I am told that the maybe the driver was being a slowed down but hopefully the order would be with me within 10-15 minutes (40-45 after being told it had just left the restaurant). Received a call from the driver saying he was outside, and after going down 2 flights of stairs, there was no one at the door. Called back wanting to cancel the order and was given excuses/lies about the time the order had been placed. I've enjoyed their food before but they just lost my custom.

Took 1 hour 30 to arrive. General quality of the food was disappointing.

Ordered the 74piece Platter. Good Quality. Good Selection. Fresh. Came with enough Wasabi & Soy Sauce. Ordered on a Saturday Night, JUST EAT projected a 45min delivery time but food arrived after 50-55mins which is understandable being a Saturday Night and the quantity ordered.

Excellent food and delivery but I have ordered 8 times and Everytime something is wrong with the order. Make sure you check the order is correct with the delivery person and call the lm to rectify.

It's not what you'd expect. Everything is made unhealthy from frying. And don't ever order sausage sushi. Would not order again.

The meal arrived an hour and a half after I ordered it and I didn't receive an apology when I called to check on the order, even though it was an hour and fifteen minutes late by that point. Overall the food was ok, but the chicken teriyaki was very disappointing. It was more like a stir fry than a teriyaki sauce.

There's no wasabi and the sea food soup is made of canned tuna ... Worst sushi I've ever experienced.

It used to be better. The chicken Katsu burger was the worst. On top of that it took over an hour!!! Never going to order from them again
