Delicious sashimi and tayoyaki, but the karaage was a bit stiff and too salty. This place has an authentic Japanese atmosphere with decent prices. The matcha Asahi was good too. I’d recommend the melon soda.

The food is always amazing but the staff is just... Not great. We were very disappointed. There was not enough broth at all in my fiance's ramen compared to my friend's and the staff didn't want to put more in, although there was barely anything inside. It's such a shame because the food is great but it just doesn't make you want to come back.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I had too. I discovered this restaurant on TikTok and particularly this one on Bond Street. I came specifically for the tonkotsu ramen as well so my food review will be based on that. Regarding the service it was quite quick, when I arrived it was full so we had to queue which i understand it’s quite popular (and worth the wait). I was welcomed very kindly and the service is great, the staff is polite and helpful. The atmosphere (especially the place for one person) really gave me Japanese vibe and I loved it as a person who really appreciate lots of things about Japanese culture and it’s what I was looking for. About the food, it was delicious, I had a pork bao, the bun was very well done and pork was amazing firm but at the same time melting in my mouth, it was made in a way that can be appreciated by everyone and can be customised (on the table there are many spices and they give you condiments as well so you can adjust the level of salt or spiciness which I really liked.) For my main I have the chashu tonkotsu ramen which rich broth, medium noodles (texture) and medium spiciness. Let me tell you it was so delicious and the portion was good for the price. I also got to try « Ramune » which is a drink that I saw in a Japanese serie and I put it on my list of things to try few days ago so I was pleasantly surprised to see it there and I enjoyed it so much. And my total came to 27£ for all that (just the ramen was 16£ though, you don’t have to get special drink like I did.) Also I was automatically charged a 3£ (~10%) discretionary service charge, which i wasn’t informed of. That was probably the only unpleasant surprise. During all my time there I was just enjoying myself and giggling. Therefore I 100% recommend this restaurant to absolutely everyone.

waiter ate my food. Ate in the restaurant and waiters kept forgetting to bring out our dishes. Ordered a tonkotsu ramen to share with my friend, a chicken bao bun, and a kobachi set. Waiters were polite, but after finishing the ramen, they asked if that was everything for today. We said we’re waiting for two more dishes. They bring out the kobachi set, and I request to have the bao bun in a takeaway box to eat later since it was taking quite long. Finally he brings the chicken bao 15 minutes later on a plate and I ask again to have it takeaway. Not sure why this took longer than the kobachi set since that includes 6 different dishes and a chicken bao is just chicken, lettuce and sauce in a bun. He brings me a tied bag with a box inside and I go home. When I get home, there is no chicken in the bun. Just lettuce and 1/4 of a mushroom. There is no way the chicken dropped out while he was putting it in the box and did not realise. The box was sealed super tight and I literally saw the chicken on the plate as he bought it out and then it’s gone when I open the box at home. I think he ate the chicken.. Food was mid btw

I’ve always loved eat Tokyo and it was my first time visiting this ramen specialty branch. I got the tonkotsu ramen and pork grilled dumplings. The dumplings were perfectly grilled, dipping sauce is a perfect match with the dumplings. Wish the ramen had more toppings like wood ear fungus and Japanese fish cake though, that would make it more visually appealing and Japanese-like. Menu had much less variety compared to other eat Tokyo branches eg didn’t have many bento options, but still had many sushi and sashimi. Don’t think they did dessert? Overall was a 7/10 experience. Would go again considering the good price and lack of options in the Bond Street area.

My review three years ago was: Lovely, lovely, lovely! And five stars. My review this year: I'm going to tell you what happened on December 10, 2024 at around 2 p.m. After looking on Google to see if the restaurant was family friendly and had stroller access and having gone there on numerous occasions in the past, we decided to have our lunch there. We didn't make a reservation because it was a Tuesday. When we entered we greeted them and told them that we were two people with the baby. The first thing I asked was if they had a baby chair, and the waiter reluctantly told me yes. The waiter with the earring in his ear and an annoyed face tried to seat us at a table where we were practically in the middle of everything. I told him if we could move to the table that had just become free to leave the stroller in the corner so as not to bother the waiters. The waiter with a bad attitude and a bad face told us that we could only be in the restaurant for 45 minutes. I told him no, that we were going to have the necessary time because we were going to eat and feed my baby. I refused and he said we could stay but with that attitude I told him we were leaving When I walked out the door I told the waiter with a nose piercing that they had been very rude. And she replied; so what? The waiter came out after me and I told him that we had come many times that it was Tuesday and that it was empty. And that if they treat my baby badly I will leave the place. At no point did they apologize to us. Point number one: tell Google to change the information about the restaurant. It is NOT a family friendly restaurant. There is no space for strollers. Nor for wheelchairs/disabled people. Point number two: if the waiters don't like babies: put up with it. It is what it is. But I will not return to a place where they discriminate against families and babies. Point number three: these two people, by doing their job poorly and being in a bad mood, have lost two customers and ruined one of my favorite places in London.

Definitely this is one of the most rip off Japanese restaurants in central London in Bond Street. The prices of the food are far too overpriced & certainly not even worthy of their listed prices on their house menus. It would usually cost up to £130 for just a bland light lunch with only small quantities of some hot Japanese snacks listed on their house menu. When you order a very small pot of hot Japanese green tea, they will just charge you extra at your request for a refill of the teapot, unlike those Chinese restaurants out there, whereas to request for the refills of hot tea are all totally free of charge, you can even ask for as many refills of hot tea as you want or like, it's still totally free of charge

I am writing to express my utter disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit to your restaurant. As someone who has been a loyal customer since 2021, I am appalled at how poorly the situation was handled, both by your staff and, most notably, by the manager. The incident began when my friend arrived five minutes before me and informed a staff member that she needed a table for two. The staff member acknowledged her and asked her to wait at the front. When I arrived, we continued waiting for another five minutes. During this time, two couples arrived and waited nearby, but no formal queue was established, as no staff instructed us to form one. Another five minutes later, a group of ten arrived and queued behind us. Suddenly, the manager came out and allowed the two couples to enter, skipping over us entirely. At this point, I stepped forward to address the issue, as my friend and I had clearly been waiting longer. The manager dismissed my concerns, insisting that the couples had arrived ten minutes earlier. He further instructed us to move behind the group of ten in the queue, despite the fact that his own staff had confirmed we were there first. When we called over the staff member who had initially asked us to wait, he confirmed to the manager that we were indeed there before the couples. Instead of apologizing or addressing the situation professionally, the manager scolded his colleague in front of us, which was both unprofessional and inappropriate. Rather than taking accountability or diffusing the situation, the manager’s behavior only exacerbated the issue. At no point did the manager attempt to resolve the matter in a professional or courteous manner. He did not apologize for the misunderstanding or offer any explanation beyond dismissing our valid concerns. Even when it was proven that we were right, he begrudgingly said we could be next, but by that point, the treatment we had received left us with no desire to stay. My friend and I left, deeply disappointed, and I made it clear that I expected much better from a place I had supported for years. This is not the first instance of poor service at your restaurant. On a previous visit, I experienced staff rushing my party to finish our meal within 30 minutes because the restaurant was about to close. While I chose to overlook that experience because the food has always been good, this recent incident has left me unwilling to return. I expected far better—both in terms of professionalism and basic respect for loyal customers. Your manager’s inability to manage situations fairly and professionally, coupled with the lack of basic customer service, reflects poorly on your establishment. I will not be returning, and I am deeply disappointed to say that your restaurant has lost a loyal customer.

First in on a Thursday. 11:30 for quick lunch with mate. Ordered a selection of nigiri and fried and sides. The squid nigiri was not fresh. Was deep opaque white with no firmness to it. The membrane was still attached to it so was very chewy. Salmon roe and fried oysters was not fresh. Only good thing was takoyaki. Missing the octopus inside. So it was a really bad experience. I love the vibe here, with the big TV screen playing J pop music from YouTube, cute store size. Service is alright, not need to pre-book. We had normal tonkotsu and spicy tonkotsu, you can choose the thickness of broth, noodle texture and spicy level. We both went for thick broth and firm noodles, I think the firm noodles were just right for me, normal texture would’ve been too soft, the rich broth is good but can get sickly if you start drinking it, and makes you very thirsty. Don’t recommend getting the ice cream mochi dessert, they are literally just little moons sliced in halves.

The most reliable, authentic and affordable Japanese food chain in London! This one specialises in ramen and they do it really great, the tonkotsu flavour is the standard so there are meal sets which include sides like gyozas. The gyozas are just the frozen ones you can buy at any oriental store (I know cos it tastes the exact same as the packs I buy and fry at home) so I would skip them for something better like tempura which is always very crispy and fragrant. Matcha beer was also very interesting, there’s a slight hint of matcha flavour and I enjoyed it a lot. Will definitely be returning to try the shoryu soup base ramen.

As a regular visitor to Eat Tokyo in Covent Garden, I was excited to try out their branch in Bond Street . Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. The yakisoba noodles lacked the promised seafood and were unimpressive in taste. The chicken karage was disappointingly overcooked and difficult to bite into. To top it off, the Katsu curry arrived with cold rice and a flavorless sauce. While the portions were generous and visually appealing, the quality of the food didn't match up. It's such a shame because I've always enjoyed my meals at Eat Tokyo in Covent Garden. Regrettably, I won't be returning to this branch and will stick with my usual haunt in Covent Garden.

5* dining experience met with 2* customer service interactions. Not much needs to be expressed about the food aside from the fact it’s tasty and super delicious. However, the experience eating in the establishment was tainted by the weird and blunt interactions with staff. One staff member persistently sang out loud to the restaurant music while cleaning tables, one female staff was clearing tables and forced us to put our multiple orders on the one tiny table when it did not fit and the restaurant was empty so I could not understand why she imposed this. The waiter who took our order struggled to understand our requests and we had to repeat the order back 10 times before it was processed. In general the service was really slow amongst all staff and if it weren’t for the food being sensational I would not have a problem never going back.

Food quality is great and as expected of the other eat tokyo's. Not sure if its becoming a new trend for all eat tokyo branches but service isn't so great and doesn't feel hospitable at all. This place also gets quite busy. Would recommend only if its the closest eat tokyo to you

Updating my previous review. I have been in this shop many times. Unfortunately things have changed a lot. Starting from the entrance where we're no greeted neither helped to be seated even though the staff was infront of us. The food prices went up which ofcourse is normal because of the inflation but the quality went down drastically. The broth of the ramen is not the same anymore and it feels like it's thickened up with loads of corn flour. Staff - Horrible The previous staff was amazing, great, friendly and knew their customers. Now its some young kids with attitude chewing on gum when they speak to you and turn their head when you are making your order because they are bored and don't want to be there. We asked to take the service charge out and the guy made a scene infront of everyone and at the end put the service charge and made us pay it because he didn't care if we didn't want to pay it if we didn't come with a reason. It was one of my favorite restaurants in london but I'm afraid I won't be recommending it anymore... Furthermore, clean your walls and shop, they are full of stains on soup from days ago... Happy to give more information to OPs if needed. Day and time of visit 09.03 time 15.00 I'm really disappointed that this shop took the downhill

Good spot for authentic Japanese food after some shopping on Oxford Street. I would strongly recommend ordering the prawn tempura, it’s my favourite thing on the menu - super super light and crunchy batter that many restaurants can’t achieve. The sushi is also great value for money and fresh.

By far and away the least enjoyable Eat Tokyo I have been to. Rude staff who then add automatically a 20% service charge to the bill. The Ramen was ok, the sushi poor. I go to their G2 branch 3 or 4 times a month - this experience was enough to make me think twice about ever going back. AVOID

Foods here are good, especially the tonkotsu ramen and the curry rice. But the space is too narrow to sit and enjoy.

It's a very busy place. The crowd and buzzing atmosphere add some touch. The food is excellent, the portions are big. It is a bit expensive but worth every penny.

I was here last March; the place was absolutely full (which is always a good sign). The restaurant is small and pretty tight, I ordered a Ramen, and it was delicious, has being the best Ramen I have ever eat. The prices are cheap considering it's in London. The attention was quick and smooth, definitely a most visit if you're in London.

From a tourist's opinion, the best Asian restaurant chain in London. The seafood is fresh, the food is prepared rapidly, even when the restaurant is full, the music is not too loud and the staff handle the queue to give every customer a table of the right size. There are foods for different price ranges. I highly recommend the bento boxes and do not recommend the ramen :D

Delicious, fresh, fairly priced sushi hidden away nicely right in the middle of Dalston. Doesn't look like much from the outside, then you enter and its lovely! Solid size portions. Had a great sake here too.
