Very tasty food, both Sushi and Ramen. Lovely staff and great service

Highly recommend for the freshest sushi around. We dined as a family of 4 and the service was efficient and we all loved our meals. There is lots of variety on the menu so we chose one of the platters and got the kids the chicken noodles 🍜 which they loved.

I’m a bit of a sushi snob and I can say that this place is really great! Fish is fresh and they have a good variety of other things on the menu. Staff are friendly and attentive. Reasonably priced and would go back again!

What a gem. Visited twice and had delivery too. The food is excellent, so fresh and authentic. Lovely atmosphere and helpful staff; can recommend and will be back.

The food was good but I was not expecting a 12% service charge. I asked the waiter if it was optional and he said it was not, so forced to pay for it. I was not told about it and it was not visible on the menu.

I ordered a set of sushi, and picked it up at the restaurant, of course not the same level as in Ukraine, but one of the best in England, Philadelphia is great, did I order a second time, yes!! I recommend! There is not much space in the establishment, but the staff is very friendly and it smells great.

We had a delivery from this place a couple of times. The food is amazing and priced pretty well. Will definitely use again. Though last time I wanted to order delivery wasn't available which was a shame as this place is amazing.

I never usually write reviews but I felt the need to come on here and share that after eating at Sushi and Bowl yesterday, where we had to pay a mandatory 12.5% service charge that was not clearly labelled and we were given tepid tap water to drink along with our fairly average food, the whole experience ended up being even more unpleasant when I left the restaurant and came down with a very violent case of food poisoning. I do not have any allergies and am not a fussy eater or anything so I can definitely say it was food poisoning. I definitely will not be returning.

I were passing by on a day out in York and came across this place. Having done ok Michelin star awarded restaurants we had high expectations. They did not disappoint at all. The service was absolutely amazing with being seated straight away and looked after throughout the meal.

Some of the best sushi I have ever had, very fresh and delicious. The sashimi was gorgeous! It is a bit pricey, but totally worth it. Taking 1 star off only because there is a mandatory 12% service charge and I strongly disapprove of forced tipping.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday and thought it was really good food and service. Went for the sushi set menu (number 3) which had 20 pieces which was more than enough for two of us.

Popped in for lunch and we were greeted so warmly. The food was so fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. We will be back!

We only ordered some takeaway miso soups. The soups were tasty and quite large, which we were pretty happy with, but we found a one inch piece of plastic from the packaging inside the soup. I didn't see it at first and almost swallowed it.

How anyone could say this place is meagre and overpriced is BEYOND ME!!! This place is amazing. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced for Japanese food. It's nothing like YO SUHSI -- which IS overpriced, often not good quality and keeps getting higher. The quality is SO good and fresh here. The place is very small, but very cute. Yet the menu is pretty extensive. I had their crunchy salmon roll - 8 large pieces and it was under £9. It was the best Sushi I have had in a long time and the staff were lovely too. I think this is my new favourite place!!!

My girlfriend and I came here for lunch and had the most amazing sushi (California Maki) and Ramen (tonkastu) perfect for a cold winters day. Also, the staff serving were lovely, definitely coming back soon!

Ordered a couple of sushi sets for takeaway and they were delightful - lovely and fresh and well packed. Super tasty. We will be back for more and are definitely wanting to visit the place when in town.

First time at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, helpful and solicitous of our well being. Varied menu with lots to choose from. We ordered a variety of dishes to the table and all were delicious. Clean plates all round.

What an absolute gem of a place. A fabulous menu of sushi, sashimi, noodles, tempura etc., perfectly delivered and such welcoming staff. I can't wait for an excuse to revisit.

I love your sushi, it is some of the best I have ever tasted! The salmon crunch is amazing and tastes so fresh. We drove all the way from leeds to have your sushi as we were craving it! Very delicious and great customer service.

Good atmosphere, but the sushi and tuna poke is mostly rice, very filling, and taste wise I don’t think it’s any more special than the chain poke I had in London. Just average food, nice place though and was very easy to find seats at 6pm. Don’t order boba tea from here, the taro boba taste very artificial and watered down, no taro taste at all.

Food ok but meagre and over-priced. Service poor as staff seemed to care more about the Deliveroo deliveries they were servicing, which were plentiful. Far more suited to delivery as no customer service. Much better Japanese restaurants in York.

Grabbed a container of take away sushi from Sushi and Bowl, six nirigi and six salmon avocado rolls. They were delicious!!! Excited to come in for a sit down meal soon

The sushi we ordered was the best sushi I've ever had . The amount of effort these people put into their job , all the little details and of course the food left us speechless . The place is really organised and clean as well! I can't wait to come back ! :)

I had a similar experience as one of the reviewers here. The Sushi was great, service was decent but the hot food was below par. Ramen was stuck together in a ball and egg was overcooked (egg in this Ramen the yolk should be runny), Skewers starter - the wooden skewer was more than the meat and the rice bowl I had, had hardly any meat mostly vegetables. For the cost there are much better places only the Sushi and decor was worth the money

A horrible experience with this restaurant. I have ordered a ramen and the noodle was soggy and sticked together. Soup was extremely dilute. The price was ridiculously high it doesn’t match with the food. Definitely not coming back.

This place is fantastic! Lovely attention to design of the space. We had a booth and enjoyed the space and privacy. Our waitress was so attentive and helpful, and the sushi was beautiful. Lovely fresh fish and wonderful poke bowl and maki, and really enjoyed...

Great food, great service what more do you want. Will go again either in the restaurant or takeaway. Will probably try something from the hot menu next time but the sushi is great.

Picked up a couple of takeaway dishes (a Maki & a Nigiri), Looked and tasted extremely fresh and came with all the trimmings. Great portions for the price point too. I'll be back to try more options in future as my offices are a stones throw away.

Lovely place and lovely staff! We ordered a poke bowl, some shrimp sushi and chicken ramen, all of which were absolutely delicious! Our server Adam was very friendly and we had flawless service. Prices are also very reasonable. Overall brilliant new place to try in York and I’ll definitely be going back.

Visited with my boyfriend for lunch and had a lovely experience. We ordered the spicy shrimp roll, a tuna & salmon poke bowl and the teriyaki chicken ramen to share. With drinks, it came to around £40 so really good value! Our server Adam was very sweet and helpful too, offering iced tea whilst we were browsing the menu... highly recommend this place!

Such an authentic experience with proper freshly prepared sushi. Actual japanese. Very tasty. Lots of vegetarian options. Quite busy but fast service
