Sushi & Bento House in Basildon

We ordered for the first time yesterday and were pleasantly surprised! The selection of food is excellent, I am looking forward to trying something else off the menu. We ordered beef bento boxes and salmon sushi, the food we ordered was a good portion size, very tasty and good value for money! The salmon was very good What let the place down was the delivery, we were quoted 30 minutes and it took about an hour and a half, I don't mind waiting longer if the food is hot but unfortunately by the time it arrived it was lukewarm Overall great food and value just bad delivery service

Messed up my order, what did arrive was poor quality food, small portions lukewarm - rude staff, not interested when I complained. First time and last time. I would advise others to seek an alternative unless you want your order to be wrong and to be treated badly when you raise it with them.

Avoid ! Messed up my order and failed to make it right when I raised it with them. What we did get was tiny portions, lukewarm and not that pleasant.

I recently visited Sushi and Bento House in Basildon and had an amazing experience. The fresh sushi was absolutely delicious, with each piece crafted to perfection. The hot seafood ramen soup was equally impressive, bursting with rich flavors and fresh ingredients. The combination of high-quality food and excellent service made for a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic and tasty Japanese cuisine.

I do recommend the sushi here! I’ve ate a lot of times the last 10 months! I really like the food! Dining in is not something special to be honest, but delivery and enjoying food from home is nice! I love sushi from here, best place to eat sushi if you live near by! Fully recommended for real!!🍣🍱

We absolutely love the sushi at Sushi and Bento. I'd have to say it's by far the best sushi around, the salmon masago roll is our favorite and I also like their Bao buns. The staff here are very nice, and their kitchen always looks clean. My partner and I are regular customers and we enjoy eating in if we're not in a rush to get home.

The food is immaculate! I generally haven't had sushi so nice in such a long time, also the customer service is great as they will sometimes give you something big or small with what you buy which is really. I would 100% recommend this place and they deserve 5 stars. My normal order is salmon nigiri and maki which always tasts really good. Price wise I would say its good (cheaper than other places). 5 stars definitely!

Their hot menus are different and delicious. Service and quality of food is excellent. I would recommend this restaurant if you like authentic Japanese cuisine.

The food was delivered so quickly & the staff were extremely polite. I'd never previously eaten here, and wasn't sure what to expect in terms of quality, but the food was phenomenal!! It arrived promptly, packaged with care, the portions were generous and the temperature was perfect. Would 100% recommend!!

We were visiting Basildon and had not much expectation but what a pleasant surprise it was!!! The sushi was really good and reasonably priced. What a shame that I don't live nearby because I would love to order again. Definitely visiting Basildon again, just for the sushi! Please open a branch in Harlow lol

It was our first experience of sushi. Don’t know how to compare though, but we enjoyed the taste.

Food Is ok most the time but the question is do you want to wait 17hours for delivery!!!!! Ordered 8pm, received 1pm. Couldn't get a refund so opted to actually get my order delivered (this was the following day). Was just going to put it in the fridge and have it for dinner that evening. However, when I received my order. I realised I wasn't even given an extra sauce to say sorry. Just my exact order 17 hours late. I even said on the phone that they could throw in some extras to say sorry but nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️ So if you want to wait 17hours for delivery that's supposed to be 30min this is the perfect place for you.

Always a fan of sushi and had to visit the place later in the afternoon after work. Service was busy as they had orders from just eat drivers and others already in front of me. There was a lot of choice and decent food selections. Would return here again due to enjoy Sushi

They look after you eating in and taking away, take outs and food preparation ready to eat is handled with care. Moreover, this place is wonderful as after work I come over to relax my feet from work and they well look after you. The food is lovely a joy to come back over again willing to try everything on the menu they have to offer.

I've eaten here twice now. Once was delivery and once in person. Both times have been amazing! Not only the food but the prices are fair and the customer service was awesome! I ordered the California hand roll and the Spicy tuna hand roll. Loved both of them! So yummy! Will definitely be going back again and again!

I have never been to the restaurant so I can't comment on what it is like. However me and my partner have ordered take out from here twice, we are both vegetarians, so we ordered the "Tofu Teriyaki Bento Box" both times, it is labelled as Vegetarian on the site we ordered from. This comes with Rice, Tofu, Edamame beans and two Gyozas. The first time we ordered, they gave us Chicken Gyozas instead of the Vegetable Gyozas, mistakes happen, but it did put us off the rest of the food. Some months past as we thought we would try it again... We ordered the same again and again they gave us Chicken Gyozas instead of Vegetable Gyozas, it happened again, months apart, which means they must honestly swap out the Vegetable Gyozas and instead place the Chicken ones in their place for whatever reason, in the hopes that the person eating them at the other end doesn't notice, which for me is extremely bad practice... If you are vegetarian or vegan and you are reading this then I would probably order from somewhere else as it seems they clearly aren't fussed about your dietary requirement's and if you do, maybe check before you eat. Bon Appetit!

Great food unfortunately Very poor delivery service. Compliments to the chef.. one of the best quality food with consistency. The vibrant colours, flavours are a sight of beauty.

I have tried their sushi first time in January 2023 I loved it so much that I had my birthday party at this amazing restaurant they provided me special discount and customised menus . And food was delicious we enjoyed each of them .

Chicken Katsu Curry was fabulous and just 5.99

Ordered food at 1730hrs. When it hadn't arrived by 1830hrs, called store and asked for an ETA. Told it would arrive in 10 minutes. An hour later and we are still waiting for our food. Just called and told that apparently they couldn't see our order in the system; well then why lie the first time I phoned. Appalling service.

If you're looking for authentic Japanese Sushi then this is the place for you. This is one of my favourite in London. You can try them. Highly recommended!

I used to love this place, but I ordered off of Uber Eats and the order didn't arrive, even after chasing three times with no follow up. When I phoned them up the third time, they said they'd process the refund but never did. Now I'm being told I can't get a refund because it's being reported 2 days later than the order.

Fairly fast service, friendly staff, reasonable prices and incredible food that is a nice change to the usual cuisine on offer in basildon. I have visited this restaurant twice now and its been enjoyable every time. I highly recommend the salmon bao buns.

Spotted this hidden little gem today in town and popped in for some takeaway lunch. We were very happy with the reception we received, friendly and professional staff, shop cleanliness and speedy fresh yummy food preparation 🍣 🍱 🍜 We'll be back for sure, thanks a lot 😁

i've been here a few times-the sushi and gyoza are just superb.best sushi i've had.they also do salad with seared salmon which is excellent. didn't like their beef teriyaki.the beef was chewy and i hate edamame beans anyway.i'll go there just for their sushi though-very tasty

Great value for money, decent sized portions and very tasty food. Had the Chicken Teriyaki Bento which was very tasty! Edamame were lovely too as was the vegetable gyoza! And we had the Chicken Katsu Curry which was fantastic! Loads of perfectly cooked panko chicken and plenty of rice too. My only criticism is that the curry sauce was a bit watery but still deserved 5 stars 👍🏼

I ordered from deliveroo, not only where there no updates but it never arrived, and when questioning I was told the driver doesn’t speak well enough English to relate whether she delivered it or not (which she didn’t), terrible management of you can’t communicate with your driver while operating with an external ordering service ! And took my money ?? Surely don’t sign up to deliveroo if your not capable of delivering an order on the app ?

Have ordered from here a collective of three times now and unfortunately been disappointed all 3. First meal for myself and my partner was a Chicken Katsu curry, Teriyaki Bento box and a Teriyaki Bun. While the bun and the box was fantastic the chicken in the Katsu was undercooked to the point it was inedible. Second meal was 2 chicken curry ramen with a Chicken Karage Bun. Both of the ramens were lacking with barely any filling and again the Chicken in the Karage was raw. Willing to give it a final try we tried a third time getting another Karage Bun and a Teriyaki Bento box, unsurprisingly the Chicken was raw again. While I would love to like this place on three separate occasions have we gotten undercooked pink chicken and will not be trying for a 4th.

Not a bad place, I do however think it could be better. The first time I ordered I got a chicken teriyaki bento box and I thought it had too many edamames and the teriyaki sauce was pretty watery, the buns were OK but the beef was a bit hard (it seemed to have cubes of beef which I found odd) The 2nd time I ordered, I got a katsu curry which was quite nice, but the curry sauce was a little too watery, the chicken was nice though. The bubble tea... the cup used meant that there wasn't much in it (because of dome) it looked underwhelming, and the tapioca pearls aren't cooked enough and have that grainy sort of texture when bitten into rather than the soft chewiness that they should have. I know this is recently opened so maybe it'll get better in future :D and I'll order again.

Asked for 2 dragon rolls and ended up with what looked like calforia rolls and not all that either I was very disappointed

Ordered on Uber eats. A little late but the drivers fault- food was ready on time at restaurant and was still hot on arrival, proof of it being fresh! Ordered yakisoba and some bento boxes- such good value for money, great portions, tasty and packed with veg which was a pleasant surprise. Definitely will order again

Finally it’s now in Basildon I had before in other branch and I loved it . When I found it in my area I couldn’t just wait to have it again . I loving their food and the restaurant environment is nice and comfortable as well.

Really good quality sushi and as Basildon's only sushi place (ignoring the counter in eastgate asda) I really hope people help keep this business open! Staff were really nice and friendly and the decor is beautiful. Can't wait to order from here again!
