Pizza Express in Basildon

Great food and even better service. I recommend it to anyone who wants to eat tasty, rich Italian food without having to go to Italy :) From the very beginning we were welcomed by the friendly staff who recommended us what to pay attention to in the current menu and we were not disappointed. We had a really great time. We will definitely come back here.

Absolutely lovely restaurant. Had a great time with my fiancé. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff are attentive, and the food is delicious! I highly recommend it

Vegan pizza is amazing very good about allergy’s and have a lot of gluten free options pizza is absolutely gorgeous first time having from here will definitely order again !!

pizza ordered via just eat at 19.05 on 06/10/2024 the time now is 21.08 and the order has NOT been delivered. although the tracking says it has. Please help sort this out .

Absolutely appalling experience, my order never arrived

Driver went to store. I ordered a pizza and a drink. He picked up the drink and didn’t pick up the pizza and just left with the drink and I gave him a tip and he didn’t care. I asked him to go back and get the pizza and he said it’s not his problem.

Can’t believe this restaurant hasn’t got better stars , just been there today fir the first time and was greeted by a very polite manager , was served quick by also polite staff , the squid starter was probably the best I’ve ever eaten from any restaurant and I have it a lot !! Pizza main was good but the chocolate fudge cake afters was to die for . Reception / food and staff bang on 👍🏻👍🏻. Lovely job . Well done

£28 Pizza delivered, Restaurant wont answer. Zoom in on receipt speaks for itself. A single anchovie and a single cube of tuna. Baffled... Edit: So, manager replied to this review last week... But he has yet to respond back to my email i sent directly. No care at all.

Very good evening all around! This place is great!

Server was very curt with us and seemed like she didn’t want to serve us. Was not very attentive. Pizza was over cooked and very dry. Pizza every cold extremely quickly. Staff seemed like they didn’t want to be here as their behaviour on the side was not good throwing cutlery and making it loud enough for the whole section to hear. No ice in a busy Saturday which is bad that they couldn’t have popped out to a local shop and bought some. A very disappointing experience

Unfortunately the order was not fully delivered. I tried to call the restaurant but never got any answer, I appreciate it being a Friday they were probably busy but I kept calling up to an hour after my delivery. I have not heard back from JustEat.

Outside needs a fresh lick of paint as well as the dirty plates and glasses left outside being taking inside. Server was rushed off her feet leading to long wait times between courses. Air conditioning needs to be turned down as we left early due to it being freezing. Food was ok. Pasta a little crunchy.

Expertly cooked, everything was delicious, so cheesy and perfectly seasoned. I’m a very happy customer. Thank you for the fantastic food and thanks to the driver for his service.

Overall food and service was good. Didn’t ask if I had the app which I later found out could’ve saved me some money.

We went for dinner and had our dog with us so we sat outside in the sunshine. Our server Julie was amazing from start to finish. Super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. She brought our dog some water and a little treat of chicken which was such a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend! Julie made our experience absolutely lovely.

Food was lovely and service was good. Only thing I say is the place needs a better clean, walls need a wash and having paper towels stoping a table wobble with it looking dirty not nice. But like said food and service was good

Food cold paid over 40 pound in these times where money is hard to come by. Just wanted to treat my family. 2 tiny pizzas uncut and cold.

Pizza express is the only one for me. I don't do other pizza's. The staff are so friendly and uber helpful. Always great!

Went for a family meal. Pizza and dessert were on point. Recommend the Funghi pizza and the Honeycomb slice dessert. (Only thing that was so-so was the Bruschetta starter. Using mini pizza and pesto just didn't go. Not a good Bruschetta!). Our waitress was attentive and accommodating. RECOMMEND.

app showed delivery in progress but nothing showed up. no phone call from driver. unable to contact restaurant by phone. literally just took my money and didn't deliver anything.

Order was missing the main part,,, the pizza!!! And no answer when i was ringing and the food that did arrive was cold and took almost 2 hours to arrive from ordering

We went to pizza express on Monday I use a mobility scooter when we arrived was a bit worried about leaving it out side but before we had a chance to decide a member of staff opened the door for us to come in with the scooter all the staff were lovely and helpful and the food was excellent we had a lovely time thanks

The review is for delivered food: absolutely ridiculous presentation, very scarse in ingredients and tasted old and stale, although delivery took only 30 minutes the pizza was cold. Never ever ordering again, worse pizza i ever had

A family birthday meal out with 2 six-year olds and a 1 year old! Could've been tricky, but the staff were absolutely fabulous from start to finish. Nothing was too much problem. Food was as you'd expect (we do like their thin crust pizza). They even plated up the birthday cake and lit the candles for us ..they even sang to us! The staff totally made our experience a good one. Thank you.

the pizza came, well cooked(bordering on burned). It wasn't even sliced. (I was in a hotel, with no utensils) the delivery guy didn't have my full order. very disappointed

We enjoyed a lovely birthday meal out with my partner and son. Julie our server, was fantastic and really made our dining experience all the better. The restaurant is spacious and relaxing. The food was delicious and well presented. Julie made sure our dessert was adjusted according to our taste. Would definitely recommend

Not much choice for gluten free, chillies on most pizzas, not everyone wants hot spicy food, generally not worth the money

Over an hour late and arrived STONE COLD. When i mentioned this to driver he said "Nah mate its not, they gave it to me 5 minutes ago." Despite the fact he had been on the road for at least 20 Thnaks to tracking.

Great location to eat at or take away! The quality of the food and service is top notch, wait staff always friendly even when rushed. An accommodating restaurant will be back thanks!

Absolutely shocking delivery time. Currently almost 3 hours late. Just eat is shocking for delivery. Not the restaurants fault at all. Will never use just eat again due to this. Saying delivered but hasn’t been. I doubt it’ll ever show up

Great gluten free dough balls and a gluten free pizza - base was a bit stodgy, but was yummy in comparison to other venues.

Nothing wrong with the delivery however the food was poorly prepared. Garlic bread was burnt, pizza was dry and uncut.

Tasty and hot pizzas and good drinks and service, toppings on pizzas are a bit stingy and the price is quite high for romane ones especially Updated Dec 2023 Got a table at 1045 and was served by Julie who delivered us two lovely pizzas, olives and wine. Great service, late at night and for £46 plus tip was a tasty late night meal

Delivery driver took over an hour to deliver the food after collecting it which was of course cold when it arrived. Not even an apology. Won't be ordering again.

Got delivery via Uber eats.. unfortunately the driver was over an hour late. So the food was freezing cold. However this was no fault to the restaurant. I heated the food and it was really nice. I plan to come here for my 20th birthday next year

Me and my partner had a delicious meal for lunch today. Our waiter Amy was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Been here for a second time with my bf and the restaurant is still great to go on a Saturday evening. I had the goats cheese pizza and my bf had the margarita and the pizzas were delicious. We also had deserts and they were nice aswell. The servers were great as well excellent customer service. If you any of guys love pizza this is one restaurant I recommend. 🍕

Went here for a late lunch with my daughter. Food and service both good. Restaurant very quiet so not much atmosphere but we didn't mind that.

A great pizza express experience! We booked in advance for a group of 30 and they were able to accommodate. Not only that but they were really prepped to manage our orders. The food all came pretty much together and payment at the end was easy. Food was on point as usual! Thank you for making easy for us.

The waiter that served us was welcoming on arrival and attentive throughout. We couldn’t have asked for a better service and the food was great. Our order was correct and every dish was enjoyable. Best meal out we’ve had in a long time.

Normally very good food from Pizza Express, however today was a little below expectations. Small portions, always missing the herbs in the halluomi bites, the mozzarella I normally have in my tomato, mozzarella and basil salad is quite large, but today it was half the size. Spent £25 + on food, just starters, and it usually fills me up. Lovely tasting, but poor portion size.

Lovely clean aesthetically pleasing restaurant, friendly polite staff and food is very good. Pizzas do not take long to arrive, very expensive for what you are getting and soft drink prices are way too high.
