Excellent!! This place is a cafe, not posh restaurant, but if you want a well cooked, generous portion meal at very fair price, go here!! Definitely going back …..

Fantastic breakfast - this is our no.1 place to visit! We love it and have passed on the tradition to our kids. The food is tasty, hot and great portion size. Value for money. Place is clean and team are friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere, always buzzing

I felt liked I’d stepped into a time Machine, the old boy in the corner with his mug of tea and newspaper. And old dear with her shopping trolley and the waft of grease and fried food. If you’re looking for a cheap big breakfast this is the place you’re after. Lovely staff when I visited. Good portion sizes and the fried bread is devilishly good. But probably avoid if you’ve got heart problems. Look up “greasy spoon” in the dictionary and there you’ll see the super sausage northants.

Well I’m what you could class as quite a seasoned cafe user ? 32 years as a truck driver I’ve used them all over Europe and the Uk . Now with living local I’ve never stopped here as I’m always up the road . But had to meet a few mates in town so thought yeah let’s all meet there bit of breakfast, then off to London . All three of us had a large breakfast fry up , and yes all three of us felt queasy not long after . The sausages didn’t seem to be cooked right through , the eggs looked like they had been cooked for 10 minutes . The presentation was shocking . It had been thrown on the plate by a shot putter !! Took quite a while to arrive too . Will I be back ? Pffttt not a chance .

The food was the worst I’ve ever had the cheapest ingredients ever and saturated in fat , will never go there again …………..

This Super Sausage was part of our pre football routine, starting here before catching the train to the match. But for the 3rd time since Chrismas it has failed to open on time. Website opening hours are wrong, sign on the front of the cafe is wrong. Even if sign is out front and door is unlocked doesn’t guarantee they are open yet. Shame as it’s great placeand a good value. Have reverted to the Giggling Sausage - around the corner - which post refit is MUCH improved.

Immediately the staff started complaining as there was a large group of us (the cafe was basically empty). Turned up and were told we could only have sandwiches as they were ‘closing soon’ when they didn’t close for another hour. Don’t waste your time coming here.

Great cafe. Lots of seating inside & out. Quick service and the food is spot on. Has character too. Good portions too. Can’t fault the place & I’m 50 miles south! Nice day out on the bike.

No bacon available even though a large Asda up the road. What was served was not ordered and was just a greasy mess. Tea was like hot milk and the staff miserable as sin. Loads of complaints in the cafe whilst we was there so they eventually closed the place at midday turning customers away blaming lack of bacon. Used to be my go to place in when visiting Northampton. Never again.

Very very rude staff - called at half 4 to pre order some food as I knew they close at 5, bit of a struggle to order on the phone but we got there in the end..arrived at 4.40 walked through the door to a lady cringing because I stepped on the mopped floor, she then asked if I wanted it in a box? I said I’m not going to be long your still open for 20 mins she replied ummmm I’m not sure and checked with someone in the kitchen and shouted “put it on a plate” I just told her I’d take it and go only THEN did I get my first smile I said they clearly wanted to go so I will. If staff cannot be bothered to do there job past 4pm close at 4pm!! I work in a pub I know the last bit can be tedious but that’s your job. I understand it’s near closing time but you don’t actually close until 5. Owner/manager needs to keep an eye on these staff. GO TO THE GIGGLING SAUSAGE SO MUCH BETTER!!!!! Happy lovely staff there!

Excellent food great service 10/10, fabulous start to a lazy weekend. Fried bread not too greasy and the scrambled eggs just perfect too.

Worst breakfast we ever had I asked for a full monty and when it came out it was disgusting , the bacon was under cooked , eggs were like rubber the bubble and squeak was still cold in the middle obviously needed extra time in the microwave after coming out of the freezer , the beans had obviously been stewing all morning as they were dry and a brown colour and then it comes to the tea it was horrendous it had no colour about it just water and an abundance of milk I only took a sip of it and I can still taste it two hours later as I write this review . I definitely shall not be returning I’m giving it a one star because it won’t let me put none .

I’ve been going to the Super Sausage for over 30yrs and can say I’ve never had a bad brekky, ever! Always my first choice 👍🏻

We go here often for the fantastic freshly cooked breakfast at a fantastic price. Clean, comfortable surroundings and wonderful friendly staff.

Always a good cup of tea served in a a big mug Great choice of food but the breakfast are the best Scene 1 with tomatoes mushrooms and some bubble sets you up for the day

longer waiting time than usual. only had a quorn sausage and egg roll. staff didn't seem very happy. lots of parking.

Sausages disgusting I wouldn’t feed them to an animal, bread that must of been sat in the kitchen for a few days. Tea was basically hot water and milk. All food tasted as though it was all Tesco value even the sauces were vile. Hubby had the 1/4 pounder wafer thin burger packed with lettuce. Staff spent there time out the front smoking. Best part of this place is the door out of it. Please don’t waste your money..

Probably the worst breakfast I have ever eaten, could have got a meal from a burger van on the M1. The bacon had hardly touched any heat and could have soled a shoe, with the thick, slimy fat lacing them up. The fried eggs could have double up as a bouncy ball, the whites were thick and rubbery. The mushrooms had no taste. The hash browns still tasted like the freezer they came from. Staff were neither rude nor inviting, very average service. Should have known to walk back out from the basic interior and when our large full English breakfast took about 2 minutes to appear from the kitchen it was confirmed that it was all sat waiting to be plated up for another unsuspecting customer. Unforntuanly their food hygiene rating wasn’t displayed, I’d be very intrigued as to what they scored. There is no way that this “cafe” deserves to share a name with the award winning Super Sausage of Potterspury.

Visited last weekend with my mother and daughter, ordered our breakfast and wait around 30mins then went to find out why it was taking so long and they had lost our tickets so we then had to wait again for our order. Asked for complimentary drink while we waited again as we were not offered anything for the inconvenience. To top it all off I ordered a veggie breakfast which I found a piece of bacon on the plate. Will not be returning. VEGETARIANS AVOID !

Absolutely gutted ordered to be told 15 min wait which is ok as busy then still waited at least an hour luckily had no plans with no apology about how long things took just a person acting like in a snails race, felt sorry for Sarah who was taking orders as having to catch al the flack from disgruntled customers then when the order came was wrong

Nice selection of movie themed typical cafe fare. Inexpensive and massive portions. Plenty of seating and easy parking outside. The food was really good but not so impressed with the espresso. Can't criticise for that though as you don't come to a cafe like this for poncey coffee so it says more about me than them! worth a visit.

A typical American themed diner which is good for a English fry-up. Food is greasy but you pay for what you get. Its cheap and quick serving. Would recommend if you fancy a cheap brekky out for a cheap price.

The best breakfast and people. The staff are excellent and the food is awesome, a great place to meet old and new friends in the biking world.

Just walked in and then walked out again of the super sausage cafe! Hadn’t been here before but passed it many times and so thought would have a Saturday morning brunch with my partner. He joined the queue which there were about 3 other people waiting in front. Having not been here before I took a seat (at the only table available) a member of staff asked me if I had already ordered, I said my partner is in the queue, and I was a abruptly told that unless we had ordered our food I couldn’t take a seat, I responded by asking so what if you order and then there isn’t a seat and your food arrives where do you sit?? She told me there is a quick turn around, however I fail to see how this is possible, it was rammed in there, so when people have finished there meal, are they asked to leave to make room for the next batch of hungry customers? I just thought this is madness, and I didn’t want to order and then have nowhere to eat the food. Plus, unless people are ushered out I can’t see how seating would be available nobody seemed in a rush to leave there tables even with there empty plates still on the table, so they had clearly finished! We then went on route to find somewhere more civilised! I can only describe it as a human cattle market!

service was slow, incorrect and food not 100% cooked - not going again. ok range - may have been an off day but not going to chance it when better cafes nearby as well

Our first visit here as my brother lives in Northampton the name did raise a few giggles, it’s cross between and American dinner and transport cafe, it was nice and clean and had a good breakfast menu. I had the full monty breakfast with a side of mushrooms with a latte my wife had a breakfast bap and latte, my daughter had hash browns, her normal breakfast when were out.

As far as breakfast goes, and comparing to other establishments its ok and for the price its pretty good value, I'm not saying its good. The staff are a little unprofessional but that is a training issue and management should address that.

I feel a bit of a traitor writing this review as I work in another cafe, but the bubble & squeek here is to die for. Staff are always smiling

After hearing about this place from a friend I decided to make a visit whilst in the area.Opted for the 'Full Monty' - dissapointed it only came with one egg, decided on the bubble and squeak but this tasteless and the worse bubble and squeak I have ever tasted. The breakfast overall was poor, the bacon dry and fried bread had been done to death, the baked beans and sausages were fine but come on thats poor if those are the only two components which were any good from a traditional English breakfast. I have had a few days by the seaside this year and a fair few all day breakfasts so i would say I can compare against those and this unfortunately was very poor. Perhaps an off day? or just simply that those who enjoy have very little to compare against. Either way, I would not recommend.

Not a bad place for breakfast, food is at a decent standard and came quite promptly. Couldn't find any other decent looking Cafe's in Northampton.

Cheap price for the standard vegi breakfast - vegi sausages (2) hash browns (2) egg and baked beans. Could have been a bit hotter, while the beans tasted like they came from the industrial sized, bargain basement tin. Otherwise everything else was acceptable and I certainly wasn't expected fine-dining from such an establisment.

used to go here a lot until I discovered Scoffers on the A45. So, why did my loyalty change? Well, while the food was ok I always felt that it was rather scruffy and not always that clean - rather a typical 'greasy spoon'. This might have been acceptable some years ago, but things have moved on and I think that expectations are higher these days especially when you can get better for a similar price.

Was expecting a normal cafe type lunch and menu appeared to have alot of choice. First impression was okay, good decor and cheap food. However, many items from the menu were unavailable and the lady behind counter clearly didn't want to be there! Ordered jacket potatoes that were advertised as large and came out looking like they had been sat there all day and shrivelled up, just about warm. Potato arrived on a side plate, it looked & tasted completely unappetising. We have all had dodgy stomachs ever since, DO NOT BOTHER WASTING YOUR MONEY!!!

This place is dirty, rude staff, how it's open I do not know, I won't be returning and I'll be letting people know to stay away.

To be honest, going here was an accident as I set the Sat Nav incorrectly and we found our selves in Northampton on the Towcester Road instead of in Potterspury near Towcester!The staff were friendly although I think the lady who took our order was new - and her grasp of English was not great but other staff came to the rescue. The food was hot, as described and didn't take too long to arrive. The childrens' meals were good value and although there was no toy, there was a £1.00 toy vending machine which we used as the children had been so good during the unplanned, lengthy drive around country lanes. There was only one dessert on the menu apart from ice cream - jam sponge and custard - it was good and hot and the custard was creamy and plentiful. The loos were clean. Decor was a bit tired but over all we were not too disappointed that we missed our original choice of cafe on our journey.

Quite simply for a 'breakfast special' for £3.99 (sausage,bacon,egg,beans,tomatoes, hash browns a fried slice) you can't beat it which includes a cup of tea & coffee. Although I personally make an alteration as I don't eat eggs which is no problem. Best value and quality around.

The well known Sausage cafes have three premises in Northampton. They serve good cafe food and I have been visiting for years - quite satisfied UNTIL whilst visiting the St. Andrews Road Cafe, I found three different prices requested on three occasions for the same 3 item meal combination. So I went to the Towcester Road 'Sausage' cafe. Same dish £2.50, then two days later, they wanted £3.70. I tried to query this by e-mail and phone with the proprietor - no response. Disappointing, BUT I now visit another cafe and the price is the same daily AND over one pound cheaper than the £3.70 one. I shall continue to be a patron of the 'Sausage cafes, but will stick to the printed menu meal combinations in future.

Been here a few times great little place for a good hearty breakfast, not stylish, but the food is good and plentiful and reasonably priced.

Good food. Staff quick to clear and clean tables. Short on dining tables. Take away available. Cook shouts a lot. Cashier has to clear tables and ask diners if they have fin. Food is good. Caters for all types of folk. Not just Bikers.

Dismayed to hear bosses shouting at staff. Staff very pleasant and professional but my experience today - I will not be returning and will certainly not recommend this establishment to any of my friends or family. Do not go there! Long haired boss very unprofessional, swearing at staff when not needed. Ambiance ruined by this episode today. Heard similar stories previously.

Nice food, cheap and fairly quick and good choice in music on the radio. Staff on the other hand need to perk up a bit. Lady on the till needs to smile, it doesn't cost anything! Also asked for a receipt so I could claim for work. Response was a cold and simple 'no, sorry'. Will stop again if passing but wouldn't go out of my way.

For a cheap and cheerful meal or snack you cant go wrong, but as they say you get what you pay for, and this is very true of this typical transport cafe.They have a reasonable choice and the prices are good value. For a brew and butty you wont go wrong

Its exactly what what it says on the side of the tin, not a fine dine estabileshment but a transport cafe. A big choice in breakfasts and lots for your money, food is always acceptable but sometimes you wait longer than others after you have placed your order at the counter untill the food arrives at your formica table sometimes warmer than others. Have always been tempted by the home cooked lunches things like steak and kidney pud piled high with mashed potatoes and vegetables driping with gravy, on several occasions I have watched as plates were taken to other peoples tables although when I went one a Saturday I found out lunches like that are only served on weekdays. Will return again and again for a greasy breakfast or big cholesterol lunch, I just love the simplicity and its tradition.

Firstly the food was pretty good....but using front of house staff that either don't like their job, or perhaps just don't like people ,is a pretty crass way to run a diner.....getting the waitress we had to serve customers is akin to getting Myra Hindley to babysit. AVOID AT ALL COSTS....unless you are either very drunk and/or have a very dark sense of humour.

We went here for a nice Saturday morning breakfast before going to watch football at sixfields. Very grumpy staff when we entered then we were made to wait over an hour for our food ! When we did get it it was stone cold ! We tried to speak to the staff about it but they were not interested in talking to us. Will never visit here again !

The best liver and bacon on the planet,don't know how many times i've had it now but it is always fantastic.Oh i used to have a GT750 as well and great music by the way

Sunday 6th July .Went in for Breakfast.The girl on the till wasn't listening to my order,she was talking to a colleague.Said my wife talked too quite,speak up!The Food took 30mins to arrive at the table.It was Awful.The egg had dried out.Sausage was very overcooked,skin was that hard it was difficult to cut.Tin tomatoes served cold.Mr Bacon needs to Address the staff problems which are evident .First stop: a cook!!!!

Excellent service brilliant food best ever... and fantastic value. We visit at least once a week our weekend treat. There is always a friendly welcome and a clean table to enjoy the food.

Had the 10oz Awesome burger certainly wasn't disappointed.This place is certainly more than just a cafe well worth the visit truly quality food.
