At the time of this review the branch is closed for refurbishment. If it opens and runs to the same standards as before i would have no hesitation in recomending it

Superb food great quality steaks cooked to perfection, attentive very friendly staff, nice ambience with easy parking

Very nice quality food and the atmosphere at Miller & Carter is warming. The paper serviettes, however, do seem like a bit of a letdown, especially considering the premium you're paying for the meals. It’s those small details that can sometimes make a difference in the dining experience. Perhaps they could consider upgrading to cloth napkins to match the overall quality of the dining experience.

Really good food great steak cooked really well disappointed no prawn cocktail 😞 and I really don’t get the lettuce thing it seem pointless other than that service was good no complaints here 👍🏻

For the cost I feel the meal size is very small.

Katie was a great server as usual, attentive and not over bearing. Lovely evening meal for two, food was as expected and atmosphere was lively with it being a Saturday night.

Food was very nice, Katie our waitress made it extra special, thank you for arranging grandads special desert!

New Years Eve, set menu was expensive no entertainment to justify the price

We treated ourselves to the rare treat menu and it was a good value for money. Michael looked after us and made the dining experience a lovely one.

Went here for an excellent meal over a year ago, and still thinking about. Special mention to the Brendan who ensured the experience was of the highest quality.

We went twice in December, once as a family and as a couple on New Years Eve. Always really good, friendly service. Food is always fantastic. And I like that your server will come back and check and see if things are ok, but also check on a regular basis if you would like more drinks (which many places don’t seem to do with the drinks). Service and food were still excellent on New Year’s Eve even though they were busy. My favourite restaurant.

Went this evening at the end of the busy festive period for a family meal, to say it was a poor experience is an understatement, starters were overcooked and dry scallops for the price paid were abysmal ! The cheesy garlic bread the only thing that was cooked well, then came mains after a long wait (not too much of an issue as we were out for a family meal) the mains came, my fillet steak was over cooked but not too much and I was happy to eat it ordered rare received medium rare, my sons was undercooked ordered medium arrived medium rare my wife’s was fine, both the diners having a burger had overcooked burgers and my daughter in laws fillet steak was supposed to be medium came out wrong also, this was taken back and re cooked FOUR times before finally she said no more and cancelled the meal, we ordered lobster tail which arrived 10 mins after we were finished. All in all shambolic I am myself I hospitality and understand when things are tough the last thing you need is disgruntled guests adding to your woes but not one single effort was made by the manager to pacify our group truly gutted and won’t be returning the lady serving us was highly embarrassed also. We were told when we arrived by the manager that a chef had called in sick so he had been in the kitchen all lunch again relatable but not something I would ever expect to be told! I simply cannot express have angry I am with the way the evening unfolded and the complete lack of empathy from the manager. For a company that pride themselves on guest service and being an industry leader you have failed abysmally this evening.

Our go-to restaurant for steak. We went with family after Christmas and had excellent meals. Good service and a pleasant atmosphere. There are plenty of parking spaces. This was an evening visit, but their lunchtime fixed price menu is great value also.

The food was very good indeed and Michael gave us, a group of 11, excellent service at table. A most enjoyable evening.

I dined here as part of a birthday celebration, we were shown to our table by our server Dan. It was a superb birthday. I have visited other miller and carter's but this was my first time at this one. It definitely won't be the last.

We always enjoy miller and carter which encouraged us to book for Christmas Day! It was a table of 2 and we had the worst experience. We pre ordered previously so they knew our order but they still brought out the wrong starters, spoke to a manger and showed them our pre order then she changed it but while eating our starters another load of starters came to our table! Then between the starter and main we waited an hour! My partner scallops were rubbery, my steak was so chewy and mainly fat and the onion loaf was burnt. For dessert my partner had a cheese board which he asked for more cutlery for which he didn’t receive. It felt like all the bigger tables around us were getting more attention and the waitress didn’t care about us or making sure we were okay, a table of 4 managed to sit, eat and leave before us! In total we were there for 2 hours and 25 minutes! I was honestly so disappointed and tired by the end of it and we paid around £250 for food and drinks but with service and food like that I wouldn’t bother again.

We decided to dine here for Christmas dinner as a family of four. We paid just under £400 for a pre ordered Christmas menu. What we received was a very poor standard of luke warm, pre cooked, microwaved to oblivion below average food. I felt extremely disappointed and most of our main course was taken home for the dog. This review has no reflection on staff who were honestly doing their best in a bad situation. I completely understand that it’s a very busy, stressful time for hospitality but quite frankly I wish they didn’t offer a service that was completely unsatisfactory and I could of chosen a restaurant more capable of an enjoyable Christmas experience.

Davina served us, absolutely lovely. Brilliant customer service and was very polite and happy to help. Food was wonderful and the atmosphere of the place is very warm and cosy. Will be coming back again! Thank you :)

Had a burger because friends said steaks are tough but it was cold and over cooked

Thanks to Dan for his good service tonight, looked after me and my partner. Can’t go wrong with a dirty burger, and we would recommend the Camembert mash as well!

Everything was absolutely wonderful. We had a family meal for Christmas get together. There was one item that was not ours on the bill, and this was sorted straight away. The steaks were extremely tasty, everyone enjoyed their meals. It may seem expensive, but you what you pay for. Can thoroughly recommend.

Great Lunch from Christmas menu

Partners meal served with cold potatoes, well asked if some hot ones could be found was told that these were last ones? (8pm sat night?) Did offer to replate the meal by manager, but as it was cod (which was cooked well) the thought of the cod going through a microwave for 10 minutes and messing that up as well put partner off. My ribs were the worste ribs ive ever eaten , a warm/ cold half rack as tough as old boots with a tepid bbq sauce sprayed on at the end? The burger i had was lovely but overall we dont eat out often and this was a rare treat and a £100 meal for two should be better than this? surely you should be able to cook and serve hot potatoes its a basic skill of any restaurant ? Wont be back and advise people to think twice about a high end priced low end food restaurant like this

Our first visit to M&C since having our 3rd child as there’s not much time for nice meals out anymore! Our waitress Alex was very polite and looked after us well and the meal was absolutely perfect. A lovely experience as always and can't wait to book again when we get the chance!

My neighbour didn't recommend this place, but we had vouchers that needed using up so gave it a shot. Initial thoughts were, location was off a busy roundabout next to a travel lodge, so clever as captive audience, but could be busy . We were there at lunchtime so not over busy, got taken to our table which had views, so pleasantly surprised. I opted for a steak off the lunchtime menu, which was 2 courses for £16.95 and I can't really describe how much I enjoyed it, let alone the starters . They serve neck oil, my favourite tipple atm, and at a reasonable price, so well happy. Would I go again... definitely

The building needs some TLC but the food is OK. Service is good, but they seem to want to rush you a little too much. It's nice to have a drink in the bar before dinner without being rushed to a table.

We went for a after work dinner. I had a half a chicken and chorizo with cheesy mushrooms, with mac and cheese, my family had steak with wine sauce mac and cheese and this bread thing. Was good and service was excellent.

We came for a goodbye meal and Davina was our waitress. She was fantastic - attentive, helpful and polite. Our food was fantastic - we had a great meal.

Booked a table for two online, very easy experience and my request for table location was well adhered too. The restaurant itself was as you'd expect from a Miller and Carter. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were sat at our table and had drinks within minutes, with the food order being taken shortly after. We came for the steaks and were not disappointed. Well presented, cooked as requested and very delicious. With a wide variety of wines (and other drinks if you prefer) to excite the taste buds even more. Dessert was the icing on the cake...not literally. Our host Megan was a delight and added the human element to the evening. Accomodating and lovely! Overall a great dinner experience

Popped in for lunch on the way home. Service was very slow due to only having 2 waiting staff on duty. The steak was mediocre at best, and in fact, we had a delicious bavette steak, which we'd purchased from Morrisons a few days ago...This was our second bad experience of M&C, and given that steak is their business, they would certainly do with raising their game!!!

Excellent food and service throughout our visit

We booked a table for 12:30 on a Saturday and were first to arrive so it was quiet and service was good. The food was very good with a range of options to suit most budgets. Whilst the dessert menu comprised several of my favourites I found the shared starter and main were enough so settled for a coffee.

Food was very good. Our server, Michael was very friendly and offered a quick professional service. 👍🏻

Great service and great food no one at the table was disappointed with any of the food and drinks. 3 X steak burgers, 2 x rump steaks, 1 X fish and 3 X sirloin steaks We will be attending again soon... Keep it up as there is no where in Northampton like it...

Medocre meal for the price, and we were rushed to hurry up and pay the bill and leave.

Good atmosphere, good customer service from the front of house to the waiter that served us. Mine and my partners steaks were cooked well but unfortunatly both kids burger that came out were very dry

Katie was a wonderful hostess who set us up for a wonderful joint anniversary / birthday celebration. Attentive and fast service but without any disturbances whilst we were eating and talking, absolutely getting the balance right. The steak was cooked perfectly!
