Went with 8 mates from football, menu seemed good and reasonably priced. Ordered my meal and when going to get condiments was asked by staff member ( owner ?) " not going to get trouble from you am I " . This person was known to me from 25 or so years ago and caused a lot of problems in my family life back then. He has since stalked one of my daughters at her place of work and asked that she did not serve his food ! Spoilt my day and wondered if anything was going to be added to my breakfast !! Mates were incredulous as to his behaviour, needless to say will not be going there again and would not recommend based on that attitude alone, noted previous post seems to have had a similar experience.

Used to be a great place for food with brilliant staff and decent portion sizes. I ordered chips from here on 2 occasions recently... (Large chips) equate to around 15 chips in a packet...NOT what you'd expect for the price! So today I thought I'd give them one last try, and upon pulling into the carpark and parking, I was met by a barrage or attitude of the owner, accusing me of skidding my wheels in the carpark. Had this been the case I'd have happily apologised. However THIS WAS NOT THE CASE! A mixture of a poorly gravelled carpark, large tyres and a viscous limited slip differential means that my tyres scrub slightly when turning sharply (To avoid the surplus of potholes and navigate myself around what can only be described as similar to the surface to that of the lunar landings.) Gobsmacked by the attitude and confrontation I received, I said "If this is the attitude you treat your customers with, I'll take my buisness elsewhere". To which the owner replied aggressively "Good get out of here then". The rest of the staff looked very embarrassed by the new owners behaviour and I can only feel sorry for them, not only do they have to work with this man, but he will also be the reason this once thriving buisness will now fail, resulting in them soon becoming jobless! Will never go here ever again after 8 years of giving them my buisness. I'd urge everyone to vote with their wallets and give buisness to the local burger man (located by interline)! This place has seriously gone down hill!!!!

I would absolutely give this cafe a 5 star review. Normally food is amazing at this cafe and service is super friendly but on Saturday we arrived at 12:30 for a lady to run out the cafe and tell us she won't be serving us as they have no staff and are closing early. She later said they stop serving food at 12:45 but we arrived before then. It was especially disappointing as it was our daughter's 2nd birthday and we travelled half hour to come for a birthday treat.

Superb fry up . Great sized portions and very friendly service. Good value and a fine cup of tea. Highly recommended and good choice for vegetarians

We had the truckers delight breakfast today , it was great as always , lovely food and excellent service.

We have visited a few times since moving to the area. The takeaway bacon baguettes made us return for a breakfast brunch. The meals come in a variety of sizes to suit your appetite and all at very reasonable prices. Everything is freshly cooked and served nice and hot by friendly and efficient staff. There is outside seating for when the weather allows. Looking forward to the next visit.

The perfect place to stop for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Super friendly staff and delicious food. Highly recommended. Princess the Lurcher loves to share our food so she's a top fan too!

The food here is amazing - always has been . Very good price and very attentive lady that has worked here for years . However, a youngish lady tarnished our breakfast outing by speaking in a very unprofessional manner. We heard her swearing numerous times, no mask or exempt lanyard and singing at the top of her voice along with the radio. It makes customers feel very uncomfortable, so perhaps have a word with this lady as I’m sure this was not her intention. Despite this , the breakfast is always amazing and yummy x

Came here absolutely starving, I mean Tom hanks castaway starving. Left full of delicious food, grinning ear to ear and I now have a new favourite cafe. Staff are always polite and friendly, food is great and priced well, what more could you want?

Went to the Sunshine Cafe! The food tastes great with no grease insight, I ordered the Truckers Delight breakfast and it didn't disappoint. It was great value for money and came with a free drink. The service was great and the staff are very friendly, no request was too much for them. Will definitely be returning for breakfast soon. Hopefully this time I can sit outside on their picnic benches as it rained on my visit.

Haven’t had the opportunity to visit here for some years. Now with working from home we thought taking the kids would be an idea. No different really except with social distancing it was slightly different layout. Great menu and I had the Truckers which is s fair sized meal. Normally do the Mini Trucker but hey-ho. Came out as expected nice and hot. Proper grub. It’s been there fir a number of years and I remember when it was half the size. With the Eat Out Scheme our breakfast and drinks came to £11 for 2 adults and 2 children. It is what it is - brilliant cafe.

looking for a good feed saw this on google while looking for breakfast 1mile from hotel when we arrived we decided to sit outside as wife is disabled thought we could not get in as its portacabins turned into a cafe massive car park the staff had already removed chair to make space for us great breakfast fast delivery they coooked what you asked for as my wife only wanted things her way they went out of there way to help great people 10/10 well recommended

With a limited amount of places open for a large minibus car, we had to stick to the outskirts of towns for cafe breakfast type food for 5 people. having been to a couple of places that were supposed to be open but which were shut, we found on google this lovely workmans cafe and what a delight for reasonably priced food. friendly accommodating staff served quickly good food, cooked nicely and as required. why not pop down and give them a breakfast try (other meals advertised but not tried)

Arrived and ordered food at 9.50, couple of breakfast and drinks, at no point while ordering was I told there was a bit of a wait for breakfast, looked a bit busy but many empty tables, anyway found table got seated and waiting the arrival of our food and drinks, lots of workmen arrive a good ten mins after us, came in sat down, within minutes got their food, well planned, they ordered over the phone, sat chatting,after a while ourselves and others getting a little fed up waiting, been 40 mins no drinks or food, workmen eaten and left, more arrive and get they food, go and ask how long they think it will be, 10 more minuets for an orders which was 5 in front of us, all total wait 57 mins for the food, had to ask for our drinks as they got forgotten, it was not worth the wait, eggs tasted odd, sausages were cheep and squishy, should have know it was going to be bad, the workmen never ate all their breakfast, so much wasted food. Then to top it off; a member of staff tells other customers that she is serving,that the customers are like a flock of seagulls, well how lovely, basically the customers are just a lot of vultures. My advice don’t go there.

Although it may not look as appealing as others, sunshine cafe is one of the best places to come for breakfast. It is quick and the food is high quality, and everyone is friendly. Worth a visit!

Such a warm welcome, excellent food, good choice, plenty of it, great value for money. Don't be put off by the approach - go in and enjoy the working ambience. It's basic but it's great. We will go again.

On holiday and the holiday park was over priced and badly cooked. Used TA to find somewhere the locals recommend and this was rated very highly.. bit of a hunt but with good freshly cooked food and a good price it is well worth it. Good menu too. When a place is this busy with locals and tradesmen you know it is good value. And good with the little one too.

Called here as we know they do a great breakfast , and I must say you can guarantee that they never let you down, always bang on with breakfast, and it don't cost a arm and a leg and to be honest it's out of the way from town and only us that live here know about it, so in the summer to avoid all the tourists out in town having breakfast we call up here it's a must and we are never been disappointed.

Excellent breakfasts of varying sizes, good mugs of tea, redtop newspapers and huge if lumpy car park. If you are in a low sportscar beware as your car will be even lower when you leave full of bacon.

Although I say just breakfast, they do have other choices but the main stay is breakfast.It is good. Always well cooked and you get enough to be happy. I defy most people to eat the Mega Trucker, I certainly couldn't.It's order at the counter yet the delivery to table is friendly and cheerful. Their take away service, like the cafe itself, is busy as it is central to a clutch of industrial estates. I like this place. It is honest and good value, the tea is piping hot as it should be and for those that can, there are the daily papers to read, although mostly red tops.I have no problem with recommending this cafe to any one but don't expect Al a carte but rest assured you will leave satisfied and not bankrupted. Watch the car park. It is pitted and holed, some as large as open cast mines but the council, who own the site are somewhat reticent to invest.

Small but excellent food, well worth a visit and they do takeaway. Very friendly run cafe, all the work men and women use it in the surrounding area, definitely recommended.

I have visited this cafe twice recently with my 2 year old Grandson. not only is the food as wonderful as ever, but the staff took the time to make a fuss of my Grandson, in a way I have never experienced anywhere else. So not only great food and great speedy service, but wonderful big-hearted staff who add even more to the experience!

I go the the Sunshine Cafe every month or two for lunch and it rarely disappoints.The staff is friendly and the same people have been running this place for years, which is a very good thing.All the dishes are really very good, so choose what you fancy, add a mug of tea and enjoy. You can even sit outside in the summer.

This little transport cafe does not try to be anything that it isn't.What it does do is a damn good breakfast and has done so for many years.It is only 2 portakabins stuck together and caters for all the working people around and does a very good job it serves not just breakfasts but lunches aswell shuts about 2.00 in the afternoon.It does have tables inside and if the weather is good there's a couple of tables outside where you can enjoy a truckers delight.They also do takeaway and telephone orders.Loads of parking outside.Don't be put off though thinking it's an all blokes place it's not everybody goes in kids aswell nobody feels unwelcome I take my kids regular they love the toast.

I don't normally go into this sort of cafe, but I was really pleasantly surprised when I went inside. It was clean and well laid out with enough tables and chairs for about 40 people. The service was prompt and food freshly cooked. We ordered a latte and black coffee and an egg and bacon bap and a bacon bap and it came to just over £7, very reasonable. When the food came it was hot and the baps were well filled, even the bap had been warmed. We went there while my car was being tested, and we will certainly do that again next time we are in the area.

They are your typical greasy spoon without the grease. The cabins are clean and breakfasts freshly cooked and excellent value for money

Do not be put off by the location and appearance. This is absolutely the best place to have breakfast. They are extremely polite, friendly and accomodating. The breakfasts are fresh and really hit the spot. Absolutely a bargain buy,

I work near this café and we often have hot sandwiches delivered or take lunch here. It is very much what we affectionately call a "greasy spoon" café in that they specialise in breakfasts. There are several on offer to suit all tastes, including vegetarian options. Personally I mostly have the Truckers, which is 2 each of sausages, hash browns, eggs and bacon with beans, tomato and toast or fried bread. Price also includes a drink. There is a slightly smaller breakfast and a larger one. Having said all of this, they also offer stuff on toast, small snacks like jacket potatoes and even steaks on occasion I believe.Service is always prompt and I've never had a bad breakfast here, and I've had quite a few now. I normally eat here at least once a month with colleagues and from time to time we either pick up sandwiches or have them delivered. Again, they're always nice.I can heartily recommend this place if you just want good, honest food but it isn't for anyone wanting fine cuisine. I believe it opens early am and stays open until mid afternoon, about 3pm or so. It's a basic experience but everything's clean and simple and the food does a good job of filling you up.

Hidden gem! Tried various different things off the menu and cannot fault any of it. The breakfast roll definitely is the one if you're hungover! Friendly staff and decent prices. By far the best cafe in Paignton!!! :)

Been here a few times now. Not much to add to the other reviews. Two excellent large breakfasts for £10.50 which includes a large drink, excellent.

Excellent little cafe hidden down a side turning on the way to the municipal tip. Well worth a visit, excellent choice of breakfasts and the staff are friendly. Knocks spots off most places serving fryups. Despite the sign on Tor Park Road not mentioning Sundays, it is open Sunday morning.

As a resident of Paignton and as I work near by, this is probably the best little cafe in the bay.A lot of locals use it and its nearly always busy so thats a good sign in its self.Really friendly staff and great food with generous portions nicely priced.

Small place, only 2 portocabins. Looks pretty shabby from the outside, but the food is well priced, they use good qualilty ingredients, the staff are friendly and it is very clean. The breakfasts are to die for! I have not eaten there at any other time, but I'm sure all the food is equally great. Very highly recommended! If you are not a local, you will need to get directions, as it won't be easy to find if you don't know the area. For locals, it's just up the road from Paignton tip!

Yes it's a greasy spoon. Yes it should probably only get 3 or 4 stars. However. The food is excellent. Cheap, and there's a fantastic choice. The staff are very freindly. The service is excellent. It can be chilly at times. The car park is very rutted so be careful. It's a cafe and take away like it says. You meet all walks of life. It's fantastic.

'Greasy Spoon'' heaven ! Per-Fab unit on a industrial estate, pock maked Tarmac approach, friendly staff and top breakfast, truck stop nirvana. Just love places like this, no front, no side, good honest grub at affordable prices. Recommended.
