Brilliant breakfast, catered for the picky, the posh, the simple eater and the chocoholic. The lady who served my family was just gorgeous in her manner to my noisy children and honestly was a brilliant breakfast experience. Was lucky to get a table

Where to start… visited for breakfast, we ordered drinks. Waited 15 minutes, watched customers indoors who had arrived after us receive drinks, chased for drinks, younger waitress just shrugs whenever you ask anything totally useless. Finally after a long wait the food arrived, waitress didn’t know what anything was, shrugged repeatedly and we had to ask her to lower food to identify what it was. Mad. Toast for 2 breakfasts didn’t arrive, we chased. Still no toast. One piece arrived and we gave up. We had ordered a portion of toast for one of the children which came as 2 slices, the portions we received alongside breakfast were one piece so we assumed they were the ones included in the other 2 breakfasts, we were missing one extra portion we ordered. When paying we raised this and were told even though it states included in the menu customers are expected to ask for the toast…. I was completely in disbelief, the waitress just kept saying let me show you then posting to where it says INCLUDED on the menu. What an idiotic response, if it says included it should be there and why would the other portion of extra toast be one piece instead of 2. Appalling service, awful experience, would avoid this place at all costs. Left feeling annoyed and wound up by the presentation of staff, the interaction with any member of staff and the clear ignorance of the waitress who doesn’t understand the meaning of the word included.

I went into the sunshine café today. I knew exactly what I wanted to drink and exactly wanted to eat. I told the girl as soon as I get in. I know what you want when you’re ready. I sat there for 10 minutes. Then they decided to serve somebody else so I walked out disgusting

Just had brunch here, we went for the French toast, it was amazing best I’ve every had, the staff are friendly and polite, all the food is made fresh, so glad I have found this cafe and I definitely will be returning, thumbs up to every working there

First impression was fantastic. A young blonde woman was very professional and with a lot of knowledge. She served us quickly and efficiently. Food was amazing and worth the price. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There were 9 of us and the staff were very accommodating, they moved tables and chairs around so we could all sit together. Our orders were complicated(adding and removing items from set breakfasts) but everything cam out to us just right. The waitress was very patient and lovely! We all really enjoyed the food. The pancakes were excellent and the chicken and waffles are the best I’ve had this side of the Atlantic. Will definitely be returning.

What a lovely surprise this place was today. On a sunny day, this place it’s located just right for you to enjoy the good weather on the high street. And the picture of my brunch speaks for itself. Better than many other places around here. Good job guys! I will happily return and try some other dishes.

A nice cheerful, friendly place. I had pancakes and my partner had a panini, all very nice. Lovely milkshake too.

If you want a good breakfast look no further. Loads of choice, cooked to order, generous portion size and well presented. Staff very friendly and accommodating with choosing a breakfast not on the set options.

We visited the sunshine cafe on our way home from a mini break with a touch of a hangover and this cafe sorted us out. There was plenty to choose from staff where friendly and service was quick. You can see the kitchen area where the foods prepared and cooked which was nice and clean. The breakfast was good exactly what you would expect from a little cafe. Personally I would have preferred a better quality sausage and butter not margarine on my toast. But at under 20 quid for two breakfasts and drinks you can’t complain But overall it’s exactly what it says on the tin affordable cafe food and reasonable prices.

Food arrived well before delivery estimated time. Food was hot and lush, 5 stars! Definitely will be ordering again and recommending to friends and family

Food had a great selection of options for myself and my brother. It was good and well enjoyed on both our parts. I feel my vegetarian boyfriend probably would’ve liked some more options, but he survived. The problem I had was that the front door was left open the entire morning, and the mornings are getting chilly. Also, they seem to have a wasp problem. I’ve been here once before and remember them buzzing about my meal, but I thought that was a fluke. It was not. This time I found that several came in through the open front door and were bothering us whilst eating, which was annoying. Ended up leaving before finishing the meal out of fear of being stung.

We went for breakfast before a long walk. Massive range of options. I settled on scrambled eggs and mushrooms, followed by pancakes with cream and bananas. Very filling! Unpretentious and friendly. Nice, fun atmosphere.

I never write bad reviews but this is an exception for me. Tasteless food should never leave your kitchen, This was so Bland it's a wonder they are still in business. The beef was tasteless like it had been overdone and was unsalted, though you could easily cut and chew it, which I was amazed at given the very dark colour. The gravy had no flavour, unseasoned, bland and again tasteless. The veg was good, but again, had no flavour, unseasoned, bland and again tasteless. Roasties were soft in some and raw in others. All in all very poor for flavour and taste, however, there was plenty of it so happy with the portion. Gordon Ramsey, please rescue this fine cafe, it can do some cracking food, maybe this was a bad day.

Lovely cafe with seating inside and outside, large choice of good food and really friendly staff who make you feel welcome

I’ve been coming to the sunshine cafe for years and it never disappoints. Portion sizes are excellent and great value for money. The staff here are always so lovely and go the extra mile to ensure you’re comfortable. The food is really tasty, especially the milkshakes! The cafe is always busy, no matter what time of day you come, which shows how popular it is! Definitely come down if you’re in the area, you won’t regret it!

Had a lovely breakfast here at the weekend. On both Saturday and yesterday (Monday).Just plain traditional English breakfast. But cooked and presented extremely well. Large glass of orange juice, very good portions of baked beans and mushrooms. An excellent breakfast. Served promptly and efficiently.The staff where excellent and friendly.Thank you Sunshine Cafe for a good experience and breakfast, of course.

When i come down to Leatherhead with my aunt we always come here. The staff are very nice and help out the elderly and less able. The food is great and the portions are very large for the low price. Would definitely recommend

Visited for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday of weekend stay in nearby Travelodge and was excellent both times. Friendly service, good prices and seating outside if weather permits. Highly recommended.

amazing fry-up, amazing prices, and fantastic large portions. the ladies who worked there were really friendly, and very helpful. i will definitely be going back if i am in the area again.

Regularly visit this cafe and did so again over Christmas. Staff always very friendly (the owner Rose does loads for the local community by welcoming in members of the local blind school and looking after them). The food is always superb and the menu covers everything! Great value for money and always feels like a welcoming place. Love it here.

I always love going to sunshine cafe. Great food and welcoming staff. The only thing I feel could be different is their opening hours. Many times I get a hankering for visiting but 16.00 is their closing hour which I think is far too early

Sunshine Cafe is one of our regular places for a late lunch. The cafe is clean and the staff are extremely welcoming and attentive. The salads and the jacket potatoes are tasty and plentiful. The tuna fish salad (my favourite) is more tuna than mayonnaise: see photo. Tea is good. We see lots of well presented cooked dinners and breakfasts being served and long to tuck in but the diet prevents us. Plenty of people come in just for drinks or desserts. Would not hesitate to recommend it.

If you want an English breakfast, eat here. Food is good, place is clean, nice staff. A little bit cramped for space.

Traditional cafe- great staff and food. We ate breakfast but other food available all cooked to order- lots of options for breakfast and all well cooked- really enjoyed it for 3 cooked breakfast with drinks £22 which is good value and high quality food.

Ive eaten here a few times now and can honestly say for cheap eats its my fo to place to eat in leatherhead, as long as your expectations are firmly in the cheap eats fried food you’ll be ok

We have been using the Sunshine Cafe for many years. The food is plentiful and good value. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a variety of English Breakfasts.

Visited again on Sunday. Sat outside in the sun. I ordered the vegetarian lasagne and salad - delicious. Well worth a visit to this place. the staff are so friendly and kind to all their customers. Food is great value and really good. Highly recommended.

Visité el cafe sol hoy con 2 amigos por primera vez. El servicio fue rápido y la camarera era muy amable. El café es sin lujos y la decoración es un poco anticuada en su interior, pero estaba muy limpio. Una muy buena elección en el menú tradicional. Pedimos huevos escalfados sobre tostadas con una parte de tocino con bebidas calientes. Los batidos están destinadas a ser muy buena, aunque no lo probamos hoy.

Visitamos el Sol Café como el otro café en Leatherhead estaba cerrado debido a una fuga de GAD. Me alegro fue como el sol Café es un lugar pequeño y encantador. Buena comida, excelente relación calidad-precio y el personal muy amable. Se llena bastante el día que fuimos, pero este lugar bien merece una visita. Recomendado.

Visité este lugar por primera vez para el almuerzo. Sentamos. Personal muy amable y servicial. La comida era promedio. Tuve que sentarme al lado de una familia que pasamos todo el tiempo husmear, inhalarla y luego para no fumadores, así que probablemente de color nuestra opinión un poco. Parecía muy concurrido, así que el café debe estar haciendo algo bien. Mi hija me dice el batidos aquí son excelentes!!

Se trata de un magnífico menú sabroso poco cafe buena comida agradable ambiente limpio y ordenado tiene un agradable área para comer fuera con vistas leatherhead High Street, para que pueda sentarse tienen una taza de té y ver el mundo pasar.

Such a cute little cafe and some serious 1960's vibe from the furniture! Wouldn't be my usual choice but I'm glad I went in. Portions are a bit small, but very affordable so you're not exactly losing out. Pancakes, though small, are lovely. Breakfast is a must in the Sunshine.

Mi marido y yo hemos comido aquí varias veces y la calidad de la comida y el servicio nunca flaquearon. Amplia variedad de platos y muy, muy razonable. Una taza de té es sólo 90 p! No hay muchos sitios cargo este pequeño para una taza de té. Siempre acogedor y amable y servicial.

Probably the first place I ate in when I moved to the area in 2008, I have been having breakfast here ever since. The best value cafe I've been too (& I've been to a lot being a Londoner). Very tasty good quality ingredients at a good price. You can leave stuffed for £6! I tend to go for the set breakfasts, but have also tried the mixed grill (I couldn't finish it).The family are so friendly & don't hover over the table when you eat. Everything comes out piping hot & they serve a mixed local community that are all made to feel welcome. I have been with wife & kids also, who are all made to feel welcome. Wife regularly pops in for a tea as she likes it so much.Highly valued place to eat. Despite the competition (who I have tried) I always return to Sunshine where I know I will not be disappointed.

took my son here for some lunch - not exactly... bad.... just weird !they cannot seem to write the specials board correctly, an odd smell to the place and a lady, couldve been the chef for all we knew, started hoovering !!!a few down and outs were allowed to sit outside and smoke without buying a thing !we ordered turkey roasts but was told they dont do kids portions - i asked why they could not just make a smaller version of the main meal and was told that veg was pre-portioned, then reassured me it was fresh of course ! sage and onion stuffing was solid, meal not very hot and roast postatoes hard on the insideoverall, ok, not great but not terrible either

Tried quite a few things from the menu here and been surprised every time! Really like the food here a lot. The portions are great, food is always fresh and really tasty, the service is excellent and have always kept coming back for more!For the food, the price is really good as well to be honest. Really can't fault this cafe at all except wish it was slightly closer to my work or they delivered - because if they did I would probably end up eating here every day.

We have been coming for breakfast to the Sunshine Cafe and have never been disappointed. The portions are decent and I always eat more than I need. It is not expensive and of good quality. The staff are so friendly and smiling. You can see many regular customers. We will be coming back.
