Went to order food. Thai red curry on the menu. Told at the bar “it’s not Thai curry it’s now Indian” I said ok what Indian curry. She said “I don’t know just Indian” not great not knowing what to expect so decided to skip that. I went for a steak. Was asked how I would like it cooked and I asked for medium rare. Waited a while food came out and steak was welllllllll done. Spoke to the staff and a lovely lady came over apologized and brought out another one. The steak was so fatty and tasted awful, almost like the meat had gone off. Couldn’t eat it. After already complaining I wasn’t asking for another one and parking on the car had run out. Amazing location and fine for a drink but I would not eat here ever again

Our party of seven went in for lunch on a weekday, when the restaurant was very quiet. The waiter took our orders, but only six meals arrived - he had somehow managed to forget one of them. The forgotten person was left waiting another twenty minutes, by which time the rest of us had almost finished. It surely is not difficult to work out that if there are seven customers there should be seven meals ??? I could maybe understand it if the restaurant had been busy, but it was virtually empty. There was no apology, and the person left waiting was not even offered a drink on the house. Needless to say, we would not ever return to the Sunset.

I only had a coffee here with a dog treat for Bella, lovely young lady service and could see this place cared about its reputation in a great location on the shoreline perfect on a sunny day anyday 😎

We visited this bar on holiday and the lady serving was friendly and helpful. Good prices and prime spot for chilling and watching the sea.

Really nice place to bring the kids to kill a couple hours on the weekend. Decent coffee and nice food with an incredible view.

Restaurant has a lovely sea view so decided to brunch here. Breakfast took nearly an hour to come out, bacon, black pudding and eggs were very overcooked, my granddaughter had pancakes, we were not able to cut into them they were so tough. We tried to get the attention of the waitress but she seemed to disappeare. The best thing about this restaurant is the veiw.

We were quite surprised by this place, it was not much to look at but the food and service were great! Sitting on the deck to eat dinner right on the beach was a lovely experience.

Lovely food, good food and wonderfully friendly servers. Great atmospheric locating with terrific vista. Well worth a look.

There was a lot of choice, and lovely big tables and chairs if you have a big family

Enjoyed the evening with a meal and DJ playing chilled anthems.

We stopped for our final holiday meal at at the Sunset Restaurant. Very nice service and generous portions for main course. Food good quality as well but deducted 1 star as Thai chicken curry was more of a standard Indian curry and vegetarian Thai curry more like an Indian biriyani. That was slightly disappointing as my vegetarian daughter had asked us specifically to go to the Sunset for the Thai curry . Otherwise a nice experience and a very nice waiter who served us.

We came in late in the evening just before food was going to stop being served but the staff were really lovely to us and we got a burger each. I got a chicken burger and my partner was pleased to see they had a vegan burger which he really enjoyed. We were really happy with the food and the portion size as well as the cocktail slushy they had at the bar! The restaurant is dog friendly, has a really fun atmosphere and generally was just a nice place to have our late dinner :)

Lovely place, we came on a rainy day and we sat in the extra side which was like a marquee type thing so it felt like we were outside, although it was raining it was a nice view overlooking the sea. The staff were friendly, the food was good the chef personally came out to make sure our food was OK. The place is quite big and has extra space which was good.

Waiting one and a half hours for food which was kept under heat lamps for fifteen minutes. No one fetching food and part of staff sat in a meeting. One member of staff cleaning instead of serving food. Ending up walking out as not prepared to eat food that had been kept warm. I and my family were not going to risk food poisoning. Been coming here for 30 years and never had this problem before.

We came to the beach and had to listen to the music blaring out from here. Wouldn't mind a bit of music but it was rubbish music. Not fair that they had it loud so no one had a choice but to listen to it

Beautiful spot to chill out and have a drink! Really good atmosphere, it's became my new 'go to' spot to unwind.

Drinks lovely as always, lovely bar staff outside downstairs. Downfall is the food, menu displaying different prices, expensive for what it is. Ate upstairs and the bar staff was cooking because the chef was on a break , food was horrible

Had a lovely lunch 23.07.24 consisting of cheese burger, chicken burger and fish fingers kids meal. We all really enjoyed our freshly cooked food and well worth the money. 5 out of 5 stars easy.

Lovely place for a cold beer on a sunny afternoon sat in the nice garden sofas. Friendly staff and a good choice of beers. Only thing was that the music being played was really poor quality.

Lovely setting, friendly staff, good atmosphere, plenty of room even for the four legged family members. We ordered some food which was nice chef was also friendly. Although it was a wet day the view was good and on a sunny day it would be even better.

Highly recommend going here....we went on a rainy day still very enjoyable food and service was excellent.....it rigth on the beach.....they have a little hut where you can get drinks and snack from....very reasonable priced aswell perfect for them long summer days......

I ordered squid as a starter and fish and chips as a main I’m not sure what one it was but it gave me food poisoning

We had chicken burger was good but but the chips well too to many and huge perhaps take some off or cut them smaller And pie with mashed potatoes try put the mash on a side not under please But taste of both meals was very good !! Nice service Beautiful view Definitely coming back again

Arrived at midday, ample seating, pleasant staff very attentive, great view of the sea , fabulous food I had the sea bass with vegetables, exceptional, partner had fish and chips also exceptional, good choice of bar drinks, cider really good , we will definitely come back !

WE Only ordered Coffees so I can't comment on the Food (Going of the look of the place. I'm thinking it would be alright). What a lovely little corner of Weymouth Bay this is. Gets packed at the right time and this place just adds to the atmosphere anytime of the day if you ask me. The tunes suit. Sometimes feels in the right place 😊 But all so. not in the right place at the same time (I Mean this in a nice way ). JUST Seems it needs more beach 🏖️.

Sea front views fantastic for food and drinks

Perfect for food and drink, you can sit both outside and inside. We had both Henry and James. Henry was both attentive and paid attention to detail. When brining us our drinks he ensured we they were delivered to us being in the smoke area which we were grateful for (as it was out of the restaurant area) Henry went out of is way to make sure our dining experience was special. Henry is a real credit to the team/restaurant. James and Henry are brilliant waiters, couldn’t ask for betters servers!

FANTASTIC PLACE Had a meal on our last day, wish we had gone before as it was the best meal we’d had in ages. Lovely staff, great service would definitely recommend .

Very nice setup. Great staff who really seem to have pride in the place they work. The views are very good and the beach and nearby caravan park is excellent. Its a nice place to spend a hot summers day. ☀️

A lovely place to go on a sunny warm day. Great views, food, drinks and toilets are all good. Child friendly with a kids play area. Nice bit of Beach and a cool place for a swim. Shops, some entertainment and a HUGE TV screen which often screens football.

Food was awful, greasy and overpriced. Apple juice had mould in it.

When the weather's nice it's a nice place to sit and have a drink looking out at the sea.

We had the most most amazing roast diner here last Sunday, and the coffee was fab. It was all so lovely that we brought 8 friends back with us today. Emma and her staff are so helpful and friendly, worth every penny of the great prices

We ordered a cold buffet for a family wake for over 20 people, celebrating the life of my mother in law. The food and selection were great - for quality and quantity! The staff were attentive and friendly. We had a private room with bar and terrace at the end of the restaurant open to views over the beach and sea. We were also very lucky with the weather for sitting out - sunny with no breeze. The service of drinks from the bar was very efficient and as some guests had dietary requirements/restrictions the kitchen went out of their way, particularly with the desserts and fresh fruit to meet their needs. Many thanks to Emma and her team for helping to make this a special celebration, overlooking the bay where my wife’s parents loved to spend time.

New chef who did a fantastic job on the Sunday Roast. My wife managed to get some extra crackling and the chef kindly checked in with all the diners to ensure they were happy with their meal. Love a restaurant where they engage with the diners and are open to feedback. Fabulous time. The mist came in giving a moody atmosphere over the bay. Dog friendly

Great place, fantastic staff and food and the views are to die for! Definitely recommend a visit in the summer it's gorgeous down there!

The family ate here yesterday lunch time & thought how nice the setting was. While waiting for our order to arrive we noted one person in particular serving appeared to have a cold, they were coughing & sneezing into their hand, sometimes their elbow & wiping their nose in the palm of their hand, coughing openly while making a coffee then handling diners plates etc, they didn't wear a mask. The food arrived & the batter on a piece of cod was undercooked, while one order asked for peas it came with wilted salad, two other plates also had the wilted salad. While paying the bill I mentioned tactfully to the young girl that the person should be wearing a mask. This should be kitchen hygiene & staff should be aware of this or perhaps were not trained. They say you learn by your mistakes, we won't be returning! We noted cobwebs, I know it is Halloween season but these were real webs.

Literally on the beach bar and restaurant. Amazing setting on the beach of bowleaze cove Short walk from Haven weymouth Bay holiday park. Breakfast was really nice with great sea views.

I love this place! Great position on the beach and the staff are very nice! But sadly the food let’s it down! I only ordered a prawn jacket potato. The potato was cold and the prawns were tiny and barely in a source, no butter! Dry cold potato a few prawns and a Manky old salad! Such a shame as it’s got so much potential!

Haven't visited for ages, so was pleasantly surprised at the improvements made to this complex. If you are trying to avoid the sun, lovely shade covered area to eat or relax with a glass of something refreshing. Lovely views. Staff efficient and friendly.

Food is poor quality and there are definitely hygiene issues in their kitchen. Childrens 'fish fingers and chips' is 1 very overcooked fish finger, for £6.95!

1 star at a push would not recommend Came for eggs Benedict waited for 25 minutes to be given boiled eggs on bread not a runny pouched egg with ham on toasted muffin Complained to the chef and he said sorry you ordered the veggie option, to my reply didn’t ask for veggie just an eggs Benedict he said he would re-cook it so I sat down and waited another 20 minutes 40 minutes now no food, the food arrived AGAIN boiled eggs from my old plate thrown on a plate with some cut up bacon, I couldn’t bare to eat it and the manager said it’s doesn’t come with ham it’s a vegetarian, confused I said eggs Benedict is poached eggs with ham he said no not here £7.95 WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN terrible food and service

Very good service from Emma. She couldn't do enough for us...Had the dirty macaroni. I am very fussy but this was as good as my own home made pasta. Grandaughter had chilli that had good kick to it. My Dad was more than happy with his proper ham and chips. Views from table were stunning and overall atmosphere lovely. Best meals we all had in our week in Weymouth.

Absolutely disgusting and disappointing. After spending over £150 on food, it arrived over cooked, cold, bland, arrived at different times. After complaining we had two new meals, but they also arrived overcooked. Would not recommend.

Came here with my family after returning to Weymouth for the second time after a few years, this place has really gone downhill. Food was just about edible, service was okay but very slow. The Mac and Cheese had small black/brown hair in and with closer inspection the ‘chef’ had this colour hair. Toilets must not be checked by staff as the were absolutely unusable and quite frankly I’ve seen public toilets that are more hygienic. When going to the toilet I also noticed that there was vegetables that had been left out I don’t know if this was due to the lack of staff competence or if they were lacking in storage room but either way it’s unacceptable. I will not be returning although it’s a great place to enjoy the view of Bowleaze Cove!

Wow what an amazing view and such a relaxing atmosphere, Actually feels like you are abroad with this setting!! Emma’s lasagne is as incredible as it was last year, both James (owner) and Emma (restaurant manager) are so attentive and friendly, other staff lovely too, can’t do enough for you! all home cooked food too! Can’t wait to come back again!! Thank you!!! X

Food was cold.arguing in background . Lack of information . Small portions . Only thing good was the view. Don't recommend unless you like your food and drink cold and small. The food took ages and they gave us one dish at a time also terrible quality food sticky tables and food the chef was shouting food under the table very unhygienic first time ever sent food back. Chips were WAYTY too sick and my sister had a cough and the chips made it worse.

It took 10 minutes just to make a cup of tea. We then waited 45 minutes for two breakfasts that never appeared despite there being very few customers. All we received was an insincere apology and a poor excuse. Will not go back as there are plenty of other places locally far more deserving of my money.

Young staff were in need of training, but they were very polite. Use the cafe as much as we can, beautiful location.

I only ordered 2 coffees and a fruit shoot today. The blonde with the biggest eye lashes and nails I've ever seen behind the bar asked me to wait because I wasn't at a table I was sat downstairs by the soft play which I was happy to do. The young lady then proceeded to wash up up a couple of glasses and mugs whilst I stood there 🤷eventually she asked me what I wanted...I asked for a fruit shoot, I'll admit I didn't hear her say orange or blackcurrant so I said "oh yes please that'll be fine" only hearing the latter blackcurrant. The young lady very abruptly repeated "orange or blackcurrant! Another polite more pleasant young lady took my money and said she'd bring my coffees down. Whilst my little boy was in the soft play my partner expressed how dirty it was considering the £7 charge and further £1 for accompanying adult. Inside various areas are ripped or broken the rop bridge is broken, even another little boy warned my partner of a "hole in bridge your leg will fall through" I was sat at the only table avalible downstairs to watch your child in the soft play listening to another family slating the staff only then to have my own poor experience. I won't be returning!

Went for some drinks on the beach front decking very nice setting. Sun shining beer refreshing. I got peckish and ordered a chicken burger. It came it looked good but as I tucked in I realised my chicken burger was frozen in the middle. I went up to the bar and quietly told the bar lady ( who was very pleasent) she took it away and brought out a fresh one. Which was decorated different i.e the quality of sidesald amount of chips. The burger was piping hot this time. The bar service was good quality of the food wasn't even when it was redone it was cheap quality of food and at 15 16 pounds I'd expect a nice chicken breast coated in crumbs not a processed frozen what ever it was. No refund or drinks offered. Just a sorry and a replacement meal. I'd visit again for a drink but not the food sadly.

Lovely setting but very poor indeed. Firstly, the card machines were not working so spent ages trying to pay. Sat at a table but tea was served in a takeaway cardboard cup instead of crockery....no milk provided - was told that milk was on the bar, so had to get up and walk back to the bar - there was no milk. So then had to wait for staff to go and find some.....bearing in mind that this was breakfast time when you'd think that would be sorted/ready to go. Next was my daughter's breakfast was served cold & i was informed that mine would be brought soon after. 40 mins later, still nothing so at that point i asked for my money back. To be fair, they did apologise but it simply wasn't good enough. No self-awareness from the staff at all. Won't be going back there anytime soon. Such a shame.

Service was OK but the food was beyond bad !!!! I got 2 x battered fish and chips the fish was none existent I got battered batter !!!!! Chips were good but as we both had some shrivelled up over priced none existent fish we left starving and had to go somewhere else to eat after paying £37 !!!! Avoid eating here you will leave skint and still hungry!!!

Order of just 4 drinks was wrong. Order of 4 sandwiches was also wrong and took two attempts to finally get it right. The ‘roast Mediterranean vegetables’ was mainly just peppers and fried! When chef came out with the correct order he made a silly excuse and was not rude as such but very snappy. The restaurant was extremely quiet at the time. Lovely place to sit and look over the sea, such a shame about the service!!

Brillant hot cooked full english breakfast with Fantastic scenery. Friendly service and chef bang on with correct way of cooking black pudding, very tasty definitely come back here from now on for breakfast.

My wife and I had the Sunday carvery today and all I can say is that it was superb . The presentation, serving and the food in general was terrific. We had great service the chef came to make sure that everything was up to standard . We will be back not only for Sunday lunch .Thank you Emma.

Great food for a decent price. Sat here in the summer, eating a meal and drinking lots of tasty cocktails. Had reggae music weekend aswell so the music just added to the amazing atmosphere. Sitting outside, enjoying the sunshine, music, food, and drink just made my evening

Very sad this place has deteriorated rapidly again. Diabolical carvery, the food trays bouncing about on lukewarm water so all food cold, spuds rock hard, no edible meat and veg disgusting, general hygiene very very poor poor poor!!!
