I came into Old Rooms Inn the other week and was greatly satisfied with my experience. Lucy and Paul were very accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be returning and recommending to my friends and family.

It’s was so lovely, the ambience is so cosy in the winter, we always like to sit round by the bar, the staff are so friendly, and helpful! Can’t praise it enough. Will be back this weekend

After walking in and waiting at the sign that says ‘please wait to be seated’ staff just continued to walk past us like we were invisible for some time, when someone finally spoke to us they said they didn’t know what we were doing so I pointed to the sign and she was like oh yeah just sit down anywhere you want abruptly. There were no signs outside or inside that this was a Greene King pub and I wish I’d known. You order at the bar and this transaction was fine. We waited around 30 minutes for our food and when it arrived (I ordered a turkey roast and partner a burger) half the food was missing. When I asked the waitress she said they’ve probably ran out?! (Could have said this when i ordered) So went back to ask and came back with some sloppy califlower cheese scrapings and a single burnt ball of stuffing. The whole meal looked anaemic, the vegetables were frozen still and my partners burger was like a hockey puck. Dry and tasteless. Definitely wouldn’t recommend eating here as nice as it looks on the outside the food is poor. £40 for grim food

We stumbled upon this restaurant while traveling and fancied the Sunday Roast and we are glad we gave it a chance! The food was a delight and the customer service was efficient and friendly. Can't wait to come back to try more of their menu.

Anna, Alex, Ben, Jack and Chris, all looked after us for my sisters 40th. The food was amazing and the team took care of us. Perfect venue to deliver a cake, decorations and balloons. 5 stars all round

Christmas dinner was amazing even though four staff phoned in sick apart from the wait you wouldnt have known lucy ant the team leader i didnt quite catch his name where wonderful even under pressure they coped marvellous and very efficient hats off to them 😀 well done guys cant wait to see you all soon

We have stopped there on our walk with our dog and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the atmosphere very pleasant and the staff was attentive and friendly. Our dog especially enjoyed all the attention and treats. Thank you very much! We will be definitely back soon!

Came in to spend a voucher Which I got from my daughter. I was really looking forward to it. But got told they were only taking bookings only. I looked online and could book a table for 8pm but that's 2 hours away! Place is empty at the moment!! I have got a photo to show how empty it is but can't post it.

Having been a regular visitor here for years I'll be the first to admit there was a spotty patch when the previous landlady left where service and staffing struggled. However having come back recently, i was greeted with a warm welcome and made to feel at home! Staff going above and beyond to make sure we have a good visit. Will definitely be back during my visit!

I love this pub! The staff are excellent and so friendly. Great atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble at all. The food is also great and good service! Love this place.

First choice of food unavailable but just after Xmas you could perhaps understand that. Advised 45min delay on food so ordered mac and cheese and a scampi and fries. Fries soft and scampi needed an oil change. The cheese sauce had a strange watery consistency though fairly cheesy. Quite disappointed after reading other TA reports. Probably better in the Summer?

Our Christmas dinner was dreadful. We waited over 2 hours for our main course. The veg was a mixture of peas which were really hard to broccoli which was dry. A flat Yorkshire pudding with dry meat. We took our desserts home and we could stand waiting any longer. Such a shame as the food is normally good.

Wandered in for Sunday lunch and chose to sample the Turkey and camembert beef burger from the festival menu... and very nice it was too. The weather seemed to have put many punters off, making the pub a nice quiet place to spend a couple of hours and it looked like the staff were enjoying a hiatus in the Christmas mayhem.

Nice welcome, shown our table and our meals arrived shortly after. A break for time to get a drink, then pudding. A lovely experience and very attentive staff made the evening all the more enjoyable.

Booked Christmas Lunch for 14 people. Staff were lovely, food was excellent. The table was decorated and there were crackers. Portion size of turkey was very generous. Several of us had salmon, which was also very good. Everyone just about managed to eat everything, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The price was extremely good. I would highly recommend a group booking at any time of year.

This pub is in an excellent location affording nice views across the Harbour. There is a good amount of outside seating. The pub is bigger than it looks and is warm and welcoming. Dogs are made very welcome everywhere except the carpeted areas. The food was nicely cooked and the beer was good.

If you are looking for wholesome home cooking, this is the place. We chose the pie. One of the best we've tasted in years. With a warm welcome from friendly staff, what's not to like. If you have to wait a while, get over it as that wait will be well worth it. We'll be back.

The old rooms Inn is an excellent place to visit set in a lovely location right next to the harbour the food is excellent and also the staff who are very friendly and helpful we visit Weymouth about twice a year and always pop in everyday i highly recommend A++++++ 😄👍

Superb pub - bags of charm and atmosphere, good food - the fish and chips were delicious, excellent ale - and a good choice on hand-pump - swift and cheerful service. We really enjoyed our unplanned lunch - we'll be back!

Overall disappointed with my experience. I came here with a couple of friends as they come to visit from up north. The food was very average and some of the staff have disgusting behaviour. Everything has changed so much over the years with the old rooms inn. The food was a 5.5/10. Nothing to be excited about, just your average grub if you’re willing to spend a few extra pennies for it. I moved to Weymouth a few years back and have been to the old rooms many of times. Never the same faces working here. Staff turnover must be crazy. I seen a girl and 2 guys drinking in a pub around the corner, 15 minutes later they were working in the old rooms inn.. I thought the days of drinking whilst working were long gone. Recently I've seen enough to not return. From staff working with dilated pupils to drinking whilst working and some disgusting behaviour to other staff members - I wouldn’t trust them with my money, food or drinks. I’m sure a random drugs/alcohol test would put this place out of business. I will not be returning anytime soon, nor will I be recommending this place to anyone. Very disappointed.

Visited many times on our holiday and had great service on every visit. Staff were friendly, food was delicious and loved the selection on thatchers cider on tap!

Came as our final night staying in Weymouth, with my wife and two year old daughter. Staff were fine and friendly, if not slightly under-experienced but I won't put that against anyone. Staff are fine 👍 When ordering food they did not have enough ingredients for a Mixed Grill, so I chose the Signature BBQ Burger, while my wife chose the Slow Cooked Lamb Shank, and my daughter had nuggets, chips and beans. The burger didn't have any flavour suggesting BBQ, with the cheese sauce being the dominant flavour. I dipped my burger in the BBQ dip to get any BBQ flavour in the meal. The Lamb Shank was a real disappointment. Unfortunately there was very little flavour to the meat, the dish was swimming in gravy, and there were only two small pieces of broccoli with a small side of peas. I didn't expect independent pub chef quality, however I expected more from this dish considering it was in the Signature section of the menu. The dessert was fine however the order arrived incorrect but this was resolved by the staff so we got what we intended in the end. Drinks had no ice nor was it offered. In summary it was a pretty typical but underwhelming experience for an established chain pub. Unfortunately other chains such as Vintage Inns have superior food and overall experience. If I put this Signature Burger against the one from a Vintage Inn, there would be no competition at all. Same for the Lamb Shank. Hopefully this was not the regular standard to expect.

Lovely friendly service. Busy pub as always which creates a vibrant atmosphere. The food was well cooked and presented nicely. AA+ all round. Will definitely be back as is 👩🏻‍🦼‍➡️wheelchair accessible and dog friendly 🐕‍🦺🍽️

We have just returned from the pub and Its safe to say some of us were underwhelmed and hungry. The four of us are (two adults and two kids). I had Gammon and my son had Steak, typical pub chain food, nothing special but did the job. My wife had a very odd hunters chicken, initially she sent it back as it looked as if there was no cheese on it, but it was brought back with the comment to say the cheese was under the BBQ sauce, it actually turned out the cheese was on the bottom so I have no idea how they managed that. My daughter had the kids mac and cheese on the larger kids portions, I kid you not it was four fork fulls, she was disappointed and still hungry. We did consider ordering additional sides for her but having waited 40mins for food we shared some of ours. The garlic bread was also missing, this was resolved after speaking to a member of staff. It was frustrating that there was a 40min wait but we understand that it was a Sat night and busy. We were told this at point of ordering. Only other issue we had was that we were sat next to the fire door and half way through our meal a musician wedged it open to bring his kit in. Not great on a cold night when you are trying to enjoy your dinner. All in all food was ok, but im not going to rush back.

A pint of beer and a small Diet Coke is £10.10, it's hard to get past that. The small showerhead Coke is slightly bigger than a half pint but costs £3.95 and therefore equivalent to around £7 a pint. The food is reasonably priced but very basic Cash and Carry freezer food.

Friendly pub, welcoming staff, great choice on the menu and delicious food. A slight downside, my pie was overcooked so the dough was very hard and difficult to eat and cut.

What an absolute shambles of an establishment this is. Arrived on time for our booked table and after purchasing drinks we were shown to our table and given menus. After about 30mins we went to the bar to order, and was told the kitchen was closed! Um hello, what's going on. The member of staff then said OK you can order, only then to discover the options we wanted were not available, and there really wasn't much else on offer either. Spoke to the manager, who said we've been busy and have sold out .We were not told about things not being available when we were seated, which any decent pub/ restaurant would tell you about, and this is not the first time this had happened I believe. Happy enough to take payment for drinks, which we wouldn't of purchased if we knew we would not of been eating there. This is not acceptable service.

Decided to visit despite some recent negative reviews as we like to make up our own minds! Warm welcome by lovely lass who said food would be about 40 mins, plenty wine supping time then! Sat with nice view of harbour. Ordered the camembert sharing starter which was delicious then chicken schnitzel and chicken pie, again both very tasty. Another lovely lass brought out the food, happy and smiling, nice to see :) To sum up, great staff, really tasty well cooked food, very quaffable Malbec and a fab time was had. Highly recommend, really well priced too, thank you!

We are local, we have a large family and wanted somewhere we could all gather. The food is good and good value. The staff were excellent making sure our celebration was just what we wanted. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you 😊

Having visited last night 21st September our meals came out after 45mins,mine was meant to be lasagne,salad,garlic bread no salad and when asked was told 'we've run out!'my husband had salad on his plate! Meal was horrible uninviting and plain! Staff were rude,never visiting again.

Only had a drink, but food all day, menu looked very reasonable, great position on side of the harbour.

Meals not as per menue discription. Disapointing starters, sent main meal back, tried another, ok, but not as good as usual meals. Unfortunately very disapointed today.

The location of this place is stunning, but the 5 star review comes down to the staff. The waitress Phoebe is great. She made sure to look after us from start to finish and was so lovely. A testament to your lovely establishment

Nice location, atmosphere was great with the triathlon going on nearby, the place is not really ready for a busy Sunday, service was slower than ever experienced keep this in mind if you visit Sunday’s. *Guys you couldn’t get my desert (brownies) out for whatever reason, not a problem … please give it to the next homeless person who pass near the pub these days. Absolutely love this place. We've been a few times and it just seems to get better. The staff are all lovely, the service is great and the food is hot, delicious and generous portions. Easily the best place for pub grub, at a reasonable price in Weymouth at the moment. It gets busy so book ahead. I would recommend the schnitzel, the sauce it comes with is incredible👌🏻

Came from Portsmouth to work at the seafood festival me amd my work colleague needed somthing to fill us up after a long shift so we found the old rooms in had a grate meal on the first night. We decided to go back a nother 2 nights and spoke to paul about reserving a table amd explained we could be late. Paul went over and above to help us by telling every one on shift about us comming for a meal I coulsent beleve what he had done. Paul is a man of his word and carnt thank him enuf. The meals we had each was perfect even though they were very buys and there was a.wait time. All the staff are.friendly and.kind would recommend this place to everyone visiting or that is local

The staff were friendly and were happy to serve us, but the food and service we received wasn’t amazing. My risotto wasn’t fully cooked and the chicken was tough, and I was almost finished with my meal before my partner received theirs. Seems like a nice pub atmosphere though.

The quality of food, the staff and location are all spot on. The problem we had was the long wait for food. The restaurant wasn’t full, the bar not too busy, and we noticed people being served who came in after us. A few little tweaks will make this a 5* all day long.

Booked a table to celebrate my Late Father's birthday after his passing in April, this was noted on the 'notes/comments' section of our booking request. We were sat at a lovely table in the window, overlooking the harbour. Advised there was a 30min wait on food & they had no fish, squid, fish cakes or scampi - not a problem we'll order something else. Went up to the bar to order, 2 staff on so had to wait a good few minutes, but didn't mind, ordered nachos - they didn't have any, back to table to chose something else, back to bar to wait & order again, this time no mixed grill, another lady was also asking what was/wasn't available. A long list of items was revealed and we decided to leave. I understand that stock does sometimes run out, but when you have to order at the bar & there is no way of knowing until you ask, what is/isn't available it is frustrating, even more so given the reason for our visit. Perhaps if there is so much unavailable they could have called us in advance to let us know, or perhaps havea board at the bar with the unavailable items listed - at least we would have known from the start. What should have been a lovely celebration turned out to be quite a stressful visit as we were all hungry, emotional & disappointed in the venue.

Here to celebrate an 87 year old gentleman's birthday. Despite having reserved a table, in person for 7 people one day before the event with staff member Dan when we arrived at 7.00 pm staff had no record of a booking but did eventually find us a table. And so the fun began..no fish on the menu due to non delivery and fish fryer out of action anyway...other items not on the menu not available including mixed grill and some chicken and no vegetarian option which proved embarrassing for one of our party! A rather dry burger was served up minus the cheese and bacon which had to be returned but was cold by the time it was redelivered. Pitiful dessert menu just crumble or ice cream! Staff, only 2 on duty, were quite dismissive of the situation and were totally without any customer relation training. Poor value for £126 and a happy occasion totally spoiled.. We shall not return..

Bar staff appalling. No idea how to run a service. No idea who’s waiting, being served or next. They are very good at spilling drinks and coffees and unfortunately more interested in their mobile phones than customers.

We waited over an hour for our food to arrive, that didn't resemble to the description on the menue. I received McDonalds-like chips instead of the advertised rosemary sea-salted skin on fries. The staff was indifferent and unapologetic. Even though the views are nice, I wouldn't recommend this pub. Dirty toilets.

We ordered food for 5 people, we were told a 45 minute wait. 1 hour 15 mins later we were eventually served. Food was mediocre. The reason was there was a newbie the kitchen. We received a drinks refund after complaining. We weren't the only people kept waiting. Every meal was served with an apology for the delay. The table next to us waited even longer for soup and nachos.

An hour wait for food, not busy at all, and it was still undercooked. Nice spot on the harbour for beer, but I wouldn't come back for food.

Regular visitor over the years as it's a pub in a good location on the harbour. Last visit we ordered the vegetarian alternative to fish and chips, the battered halloumi and chips. However the halloumi really was three slices that were slightly grilled/fried with no batter - very very disappointing compared to other places we had this dish.

Out side the old rooms, stands a very old water pump that used to serve the locals of that area of Hope square. Its lasted all this time and people can sit out side around it.

Great laid back place with beautiful views of the harbour. Would recommend.

Had to wait 45 minutes for food when the place was nearly empty. Also some food was not available. Having said that when it came the food was vary nice.

Brilliant service for food and drink but not happy hearing about the disrespectful nature of the treatment, of the lovely historical building. Surely Green King have a responsibility to protect our British heritage.

Waited 1 hour and 50 minutes for our meals. Starters were chicken strips, overcooked, dry. King prawn and Chorizo, smothered with far too much sauce, of undescribable flavour, handfull of rocket and 3 prawns. Main :- steak and ale pie, all gravy very little meat, dry chips and overcooked broccoli. Sirloin Steak, meant to be cooked "blue", arrived as medium to well done, unable to eat due to amount of fat and grissel. Grilled tomato was raw. Over cooked chips and 2 undercooked onion rings. Pepper sauce was disgusting and looked like scrapping from pan. Very disappointed with wait and food was worst eating experience in Weymouth this week. Would not recommend at all.

Terrible food, you might as well flush your money down the toilet. The table we booked was dirty. The staff at the bar were nice and so are the drinks at the bar.

Very nice harbor pub in England. Definitely fits into the atmosphere 🇬🇧🤌🏻 Unfortunately we didn't try any food and had to go back to the cruise ship. "Peroni" is highly recommended, it tastes a bit like Radler, but that's normal in England 🤭❤️ Tip for all Germans: in most pubs in England you have to get the beer at the bar. But at least you have it straight away and paid for it 😉

Wrote a review which was poor but was promised it was a one off so we came back and guess what even worse no roasts like I was promised poor menu and a guy behind the bar was very rude to me I will never be coming back and I will post on social media what a rubbish place it is to eat

Excellent atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing value. Would highly recommend.

I was debating whether to come in or not, but went in in the end. The signage was a bit confusing, it said "wait here to be seated", so I stood near it for a bit and then spotted another one saying get a table and order at the bar with a table number. Ordered soup and prawns with chorizo. The food was spot on, focaccia bread was delicious 😋 Generous portions too. Food took 20 min to arrive, so I could enjoy the view of the harbour whilst waiting. Overall a great spot to have a bite to eat and atmosphere to suit any taste.

ROAST! We had a roast after our successful meal out the other day. I don’t like cauliflower, but there was a sufficient amount of cheese so it was good! 10/10 for green king 8/10 for country pub, initially stingy on gravy, but more was supplied! Helps the food go down the throat. The horse radish was very spicy, took me by surprise (see photo) Good amount of food and was succulent, would recommend, I have gravy juice on my hand.

Food was freshly cooked and in a reasonable time, but after taking a recommendation from staff (as no mixed grill left), I was disappointed with the meal I was recommended mainly due to portion size .

We come to Weymouth every year. We was greated by Sophie, she made us feel so welcome even under pressure, all the Staff really locked after us can't wait to be back next year thank you the old Room's Weymouth 😀 x
