Came from Portsmouth to work at the seafood festival me amd my work colleague needed somthing to fill us up after a long shift so we found the old rooms in had a grate meal on the first night. We decided to go back a nother 2 nights and spoke to paul about reserving a table amd explained we could be late. Paul went over and above to help us by telling every one on shift about us comming for a meal I coulsent beleve what he had done. Paul is a man of his word and carnt thank him enuf. The meals we had each was perfect even though they were very buys and there was a.wait time. All the staff are.friendly and.kind would recommend this place to everyone visiting or that is local

Booked a table to celebrate my Late Father's birthday after his passing in April, this was noted on the 'notes/comments' section of our booking request. We were sat at a lovely table in the window, overlooking the harbour. Advised there was a 30min wait on food & they had no fish, squid, fish cakes or scampi - not a problem we'll order something else. Went up to the bar to order, 2 staff on so had to wait a good few minutes, but didn't mind, ordered nachos - they didn't have any, back to table to chose something else, back to bar to wait & order again, this time no mixed grill, another lady was also asking what was/wasn't available. A long list of items was revealed and we decided to leave. I understand that stock does sometimes run out, but when you have to order at the bar & there is no way of knowing until you ask, what is/isn't available it is frustrating, even more so given the reason for our visit. Perhaps if there is so much unavailable they could have called us in advance to let us know, or perhaps havea board at the bar with the unavailable items listed - at least we would have known from the start. What should have been a lovely celebration turned out to be quite a stressful visit as we were all hungry, emotional & disappointed in the venue.

Here to celebrate an 87 year old gentleman's birthday. Despite having reserved a table, in person for 7 people one day before the event with staff member Dan when we arrived at 7.00 pm staff had no record of a booking but did eventually find us a table. And so the fun began..no fish on the menu due to non delivery and fish fryer out of action anyway...other items not on the menu not available including mixed grill and some chicken and no vegetarian option which proved embarrassing for one of our party! A rather dry burger was served up minus the cheese and bacon which had to be returned but was cold by the time it was redelivered. Pitiful dessert menu just crumble or ice cream! Staff, only 2 on duty, were quite dismissive of the situation and were totally without any customer relation training. Poor value for £126 and a happy occasion totally spoiled.. We shall not return..

We waited over an hour for our food to arrive, that didn't resemble to the description on the menue. I received McDonalds-like chips instead of the advertised rosemary sea-salted skin on fries. The staff was indifferent and unapologetic. Even though the views are nice, I wouldn't recommend this pub. Dirty toilets.

We ordered food for 5 people, we were told a 45 minute wait. 1 hour 15 mins later we were eventually served. Food was mediocre. The reason was there was a newbie the kitchen. We received a drinks refund after complaining. We weren't the only people kept waiting. Every meal was served with an apology for the delay. The table next to us waited even longer for soup and nachos.

An hour wait for food, not busy at all, and it was still undercooked. Nice spot on the harbour for beer, but I wouldn't come back for food.

Regular visitor over the years as it's a pub in a good location on the harbour. Last visit we ordered the vegetarian alternative to fish and chips, the battered halloumi and chips. However the halloumi really was three slices that were slightly grilled/fried with no batter - very very disappointing compared to other places we had this dish.

Out side the old rooms, stands a very old water pump that used to serve the locals of that area of Hope square. Its lasted all this time and people can sit out side around it.

Great laid back place with beautiful views of the harbour. Would recommend.

Had to wait 45 minutes for food when the place was nearly empty. Also some food was not available. Having said that when it came the food was vary nice.

Brilliant service for food and drink but not happy hearing about the disrespectful nature of the treatment, of the lovely historical building. Surely Green King have a responsibility to protect our British heritage.

Waited 1 hour and 50 minutes for our meals. Starters were chicken strips, overcooked, dry. King prawn and Chorizo, smothered with far too much sauce, of undescribable flavour, handfull of rocket and 3 prawns. Main :- steak and ale pie, all gravy very little meat, dry chips and overcooked broccoli. Sirloin Steak, meant to be cooked "blue", arrived as medium to well done, unable to eat due to amount of fat and grissel. Grilled tomato was raw. Over cooked chips and 2 undercooked onion rings. Pepper sauce was disgusting and looked like scrapping from pan. Very disappointed with wait and food was worst eating experience in Weymouth this week. Would not recommend at all.

Terrible food, you might as well flush your money down the toilet. The table we booked was dirty. The staff at the bar were nice and so are the drinks at the bar.

Very nice harbor pub in England. Definitely fits into the atmosphere 🇬🇧🤌🏻 Unfortunately we didn't try any food and had to go back to the cruise ship. "Peroni" is highly recommended, it tastes a bit like Radler, but that's normal in England 🤭❤️ Tip for all Germans: in most pubs in England you have to get the beer at the bar. But at least you have it straight away and paid for it 😉

Wrote a review which was poor but was promised it was a one off so we came back and guess what even worse no roasts like I was promised poor menu and a guy behind the bar was very rude to me I will never be coming back and I will post on social media what a rubbish place it is to eat

Excellent atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing value. Would highly recommend.

I was debating whether to come in or not, but went in in the end. The signage was a bit confusing, it said "wait here to be seated", so I stood near it for a bit and then spotted another one saying get a table and order at the bar with a table number. Ordered soup and prawns with chorizo. The food was spot on, focaccia bread was delicious 😋 Generous portions too. Food took 20 min to arrive, so I could enjoy the view of the harbour whilst waiting. Overall a great spot to have a bite to eat and atmosphere to suit any taste.

ROAST! We had a roast after our successful meal out the other day. I don’t like cauliflower, but there was a sufficient amount of cheese so it was good! 10/10 for green king 8/10 for country pub, initially stingy on gravy, but more was supplied! Helps the food go down the throat. The horse radish was very spicy, took me by surprise (see photo) Good amount of food and was succulent, would recommend, I have gravy juice on my hand.

Food was freshly cooked and in a reasonable time, but after taking a recommendation from staff (as no mixed grill left), I was disappointed with the meal I was recommended mainly due to portion size .

We come to Weymouth every year. We was greated by Sophie, she made us feel so welcome even under pressure, all the Staff really locked after us can't wait to be back next year thank you the old Room's Weymouth 😀 x

Initially it was very busy, and we were disappointed as all the reviews were great. We managed to find a table and had a chicken and ham pie and lamb shank. For green king this was 10/10, if it was a fancy country pub, I would say it was also 10/10! The pie actually had a taste, and the lamb shank was absolutely melt in the mouth. And Sophie looked after us, would recommend. Our only complaint is that we will walk the mile each way from our hotel again!! PS good live music on a Friday

Brilliant place for food and drinks been coming here for over 20 years and really enjoyed the place we had cod and chips and scampi and chips plus starters every thing was cooked so well and a big thank you to all the staff very friendly and worked so hard on a busy evening will come back again when we come back to Weymouth

Lovely views of the harbour if you're drinking outside. Sadly we had to eat inside, and although the food was decent enough, the hot plates were a sign that the food had been sat under the heat lamps for quite a while. That said, our waitress was lovely and accommodating.

We came last year and the food was so good we have returned this year. My son declared it was the best mixed grill ever! High praise from him. The Lamb shank was gorgeous, the fish and chips was perfect. The staff were lovely, great atmosphere wish it was closer to home as we would be regulars but we will definitely be back on our next holiday.

It’s a pity this pub is so understaffed, however the ones working there are a credit, service with a smile and producing great food, when they’ve got it. Know they get very busy with drinkers, but no excuse for no pint glasses for bottles

After we left and discussing our poor experience here we were eating dinner at the Red Lion around the corner a member of the wait staff came out and said they’d overheard our conversation - and the owner/manager here has a woeful reputation - she had left under his tenure - btw she was amazing so was the food at the Red Lion

Awful! Staff are so rude and unwelcoming! If I could give 0 stars I would! Asked for a table and they apparently don’t cater for 7 people as it is too much pressure for the chef after we had spent loads of money in their all day.

Awful. So rude. Staff unwelcome to tourists and the response when challenged was get out after sitting there with a disabled guest in our party

Ate at this Inn in Weymouth in evening,the tables were disgusting not cleaned up with empty glasses ,food and wet from glasses of drink.i had to ask for our table to be cleaned which the Waitress did but egnored the tables around us. Food order we had to wait for an hour, food was tasteless I had a gammon egg peas and chips, gammon steak was watery and not salty. I had a coke which was watered down. Other customers near where we sat had to clean there own tables, which we're also left in awful state and remove empty glasses and food. Toilets I used the Mens and found the floor was soaking Wet surely the toilets should be checked and cleaned regularly with volume of customers. Came away very disappointed with Service,Food and Cleanliness from this Green King Inn. This inn needs to be inspected by Green King Management.

Sat outside here for around 3 hours Saturday afternoon. Lapping up the sun, people watching. Met a really nice local couple. Really nice place. One very small thing. More bar staff needed at busy times.

Very slow service at the bar long wait for food 45 minutes scampi over cooked very small portion husband had fish overcooked not impressed avoid at all costs won't come back definitely wouldn't recommend.

We really liked the pub and the food was really great. We had the lamb and the grill plate. You have to order the food and drinks at the bar, state the table number, pay, enjoy the beer/cider and after a while the food is served. Really delicious!!

Popped in for Sunday lunch had pulled beef croquettes with a red pepper sauce and marmalade pork loin with chive mash Not the biggest menu in the world it's a busy pub so I make allowances for that, like i say its busy so cannot be that bad

Looks nice, with a great view of the harbor, the water. Extensive menu, also a good selection of drinks, but despite asking, no one took the food to order, even though we even sat down at the suggested table. We then got drinks ourselves at the bar.

Reasonably priced chain pub right on Weymouth harbour. Always meal and drinks deals that won't break the bank like some other places on the other side of the bridge! Seating outside and in, excellent views of the harbour. Staff are always friendly if not a little overworked at times but it's a often busy place. Also has a weekly quiz night. Takes Blue Light card.

First time in area and was great pub to stop and eat lunch at. Me and my partner eat keto and they caters to this really well. Very dog friendly pub also . Will defo go back again.

Absolutely lovely. Our waitress, kirsty was so lovely. They were very accommodating with our special food needs, as we eat Keto. Must say the Gammon was the best I've ever had while out in years. Even the rump steak in the mixed grill wasn't chewy. Definitely be going back again.

Awful food and service, despite being offered a free meal, I would not go back

We booked this establishment as we are locals and haven't been for a while. Was told on arrival that they hadn't got some items for food as they hadn't had a delivery. So no chicken, no fish, no scampi, no steak, no gammon, no schnitzel, not a lot left on the menu but burger or lasagne, and few other items. After discussing for 35 mins we were so hungry we decided to stay so ordered lasagne. It arrived it didn't look appetising at all, was so hungry I just ate it, big mistake, next morning was so ill, so all in all wont be going back for food yuk. Others chose burger, wish I had that did look nice.

Not sure what happened, this used to be a great pub, however just been charged London prices (£6 a pint ) for a mediocre Greenking Level Head IPA, and staff hygiene seriously needs looking into with a staff member constantly wiping their nose with their hand whilst serving pints and handing them to customers.

We met up with my uncle who was visiting.Everyone enjoyed their meals,we had scampi,mixed grill,lamb and lasagne.The guy serving us with the beard was fantastic,he went above and beyond in our opinion,would definitely visit again being locals.

Weekend in Weymouth, we are 5 middle aged couples enjoying a weekend away, walked into this pub that was not busy and was told there was no room for us. Don’t bother going to this pub if you are couples as you won’t be welcomed

Energy levels were going low and was in need of drinks and a sweet treat. Popped in here and enjoyed a Victoria Sponge with raspberry Eton mess. Never heard of it before so thanks for teaching me this term, which I've seen all over the place since. Good fast service. Lots of seating. The crocheted covered bollards outside made me laugh! Thanks for the memories!

I don't normally leave reviews like this, but our experience here was very poor. I ordered drinks including a can of Guinness zero. A pint glass and the can were just plonked in front of me. I would usually expect to receive the dink poured for me. We ordered food and were warned that there would be a forty minute wait, which was fine. The food came out in good time but was awful. My mother and I had fish which was badly overcooked, my wife's chicken burger was slightly over and dry. I decided not to make a fuss, however my mother couldn't eat hers. The server waited until we had finished to enquire if everything was okay. When we told her that it wasn't, she immediately offered a refund which was okay. It did seem as though it was a road well trodden. All in all I would definitely not return here and cannot recommend it to anyone else.

Had a great meal, Sunday evening, staff very friendly & helpful, told us what wasn't available due to Sunday lunches. It was all ok. The food was absolutely lovely, even the puddings were great. Atmosphere was so relaxed and had a nice restaurant area to look over the harbour. Service was nice and quick after ordering. We will be back again soon for another meal this year, with family.

Absolutely loved this place. Been coming year after year with my dogs. 10 of us came mon 8th with 2 dogs. Sat up in top room carpeted area. Came on my own with 2 dogs 2 weeks later. Sat up top at table 19 carpeted area. The bloke with beard went above and beyond to help with ordering and paying food as didn’t want to leave dogs at table on their own. BUT TOAY WAS DIFFERENT. The minute I walked in. I was met with a brown haired , glasses , lady, with a slight lisp ( no problem with that just trying to help discribe her) VERY Hostile. She was rude from the start. Basically after me asking if everything was available on the menu and her giving me a filthy look and saying yes. I then ordered my drink and meal to be told they didn’t have the pie I ordered or the other pie I asked for so I choose a 3rd option. Then she said well I can’t take your order without a table number. I said this is what I did the other 2 times coming on my own . She then said I can’t sit with dogs on carpeted area ( even though I have 3 times in the last 2 weeks. She was so rude and unhelpful. I just wanted a quiet spot I new for me and my dogs. I suggest if anyone suffers with shyness or anxiety and likes routine. Don’t go there. You may bump into Mrs spoil a good place. So sad. I loved this place. Note. Pics of my dogs on carpeted area

Ordered a mac&cheese that was supposed to come with foccacia. After asking twice, the waiter said there wasn't any foccacia. I had to ask: now what? before he realised an alternative could be a good idea. And the Hollandaise that came with the salmon fishcakes was horrid. But atmosphere was nice if you'd go in for a drink.

Really great Sunday roast. The Yorkshire pudding is to die for!! Great service, and dog friendly. Good cider and better food. Definitely going to back, and back

This was a spontaneous visit on a busy Sunday lunchtime. We were given a table quickly. We ordered our drinks and food at the bar, as explained to us. Our wait for food was 30 minutes, and it was well worth waiting for. Good value for money, roast dinners and fishcakes were delicious. We look forward to returning when we're back in Weymouth. Highly recommended.

Amazing food and great service. We ordered fish cakes and a steak and ale pie. Not your typical pub grub, this was far nicer. Served beautifully too. Staff were very friendly and attentive and you can take your dog too

17th Century pub now part of the Greene King group. A wonderful old building, full of character, situated right on Weymouth Harbourside. The waitress and barmaid who served us, were both very pleasant and attentive. As with all the visits we have enjoyed to Greene King establishments, the meals are good and excellent value for money. We hired the back room for a birthday party. The staff were really helpful in setting it up (even stored the cake and flowers on the day). 10/10 for all the staff on the night, super customer service. The buffet we ordered was excellent value, lovely food and masses of it too. Really good choice of drinks for all the guests. Thoroughly recommend for anyone looking to hold a party in Weymouth.

Ordered my food and not long my dinner was on the table . Enjoyed it more than it looked , bit burnt , but I don’t mind that myself.

Great atmosphere here, very welcoming and well presented. I would recommend booking a table as it does get busy. We had to park on the other side of the harbour and walk across but it only took 5 minutes. Food was lovely, great selection and offers. We were served quickly and with a smile. Great place to visit.
