Only found this as it comes up on apple maps. We were waiting for a car service and fancied breakfast. You could easily walk past and not know it's there but once inside it is a welcome change from the greasy spoon. Clean and quirky interior and big breakfast menu. Big breakfast was excellent as were the Poached eggs (done properly) Not overly expensive and a good experience.

This is a small cafe/restaurant off the main road, with its African based interior, benches and tables made from old pallets. Its obviously very popular with the locals we went for breakfast which are of a generous size. The evenings it serves African food... well worth the visit

Firstly I called up before arriving to see if we could order a table for 15 of us for a birthday breakfast, We was told first come first serve and we couldn’t book. We arrived and managed to get a table for 15 of us. There was clear signs about food wait being 30-45 mins wait which we were willing to wait. 3 orders out of 5 arrived after waiting 45-50 mins for our breakfasts. over a hour passed by this time everyone else had finished their meals. No staff was in sight to report this too however we noticed that there was table reserved next to us which seemed like the staffs friends which later on some of the kitchen/ waiting staff sat with them. Which was upsetting as we was told no bookings allowed!! after a hour and 15 mins we saw a member of staff and let her know that a lot of our meals hadn’t arrived she didn’t say sorry she just said she would go and see, a man who was clearing plates came to take out plates from our table and asked if we had enjoyed our meals i said yes but we are STILL waiting for more meals he said ok but I was asking the people who had their meals whether they enjoyed them in a very rude manner disregarding the fact that we was STILL waiting for some of our meals, the lady we spoke to had been out back for 10 mins and hadn’t come come back to update us, another lady arrived and told us our tickets got lost still no apology. Our orders were refunded and a lot of us went home hungry. Very disappointing.

Came in and placed an order at 11:30, no one told us we'd be in for a long wait, otherwise we'd have gone elsewhere. We were short on time and could've done without waiting 56 minutes for 2 breakfasts and a kids nuggets meal. After 45 mins, I enquired about our food and was told it's being prepped. Personally I think an apology would have been appropriate. I sat back down feeling like they didn't value customers.

Worst service you could ever experience, we had to wait for over an hour for food, no notice of the delay and they tried to blame it on Uber, the manager is horrific at service and it was apparently our fault for not knowing the restaurant was busy. So many customers were in the same situation, We left and got a refund but I did see the food and wasn’t particularly nice looking anyway, would not recommend in the slightest. I appreciate their can be bad days but at least accept some responsibility and accountability rather than blame it on others. Terrible

We had visited this cafe in wolverton and had a lovely afternoon. The cafe was clean and full of people. Very good pricing and presentation is spot on. Would definitely recommend to visit if you're wanting a chilled environment to eat your food. They do breakfasts, main meals and take away option as well. It cost £11.20 for 2 drinks, a tuna melt panini and a bacon and egg burger.

Liked the relaxed vibe, especially for a chilled out Sunday morning. 2 stars are solely for the friendly staff and that the food is cooked to order. A few small changes would make this a great gem to take the family and friends for breakfast.

A good 20 of us turned up here on a Sunday morning and we were all eating fairly quickly. We did try to call and book ahead but we were told it would not be a problem, they did not lie! The food is really good, it looks and tastes amazing. None of us were disappointed. There is a car park pretty much opposite, so parking is not a problem. Service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable.

Brilliant pace to go for breakfast. One of the best hash browns I’ve ever eaten and very delicious milkshakes. They had forgotten about my shake, but when I asked she apologised profusely and it came out quickly. Come with an appetite - they won’t let you leave hungry!

On the till receipt, I am invited to leave a review, so here is my honest appraisalWe visited this cafe yesterday for breakfast, placed our order and waited. And waited. After 30 minutes I enquired as to where our food was and was advised it was on the grill and would be 5 minutes. They pointed to a small sign saying everything was cooked fresh, so there may be a delay, but no time estimate!!. 20 minute later, 50 minutes after ordering, the food arrived. The owner came over, failed to apologise and instead just went on about how busy they were (albeit the place was half empty) how they can only cook small batches etc etc. She had no idea of customer service and I felt as though we were expected to tolerate their shortcomings. There was not even the offer of a cup if tea on the house as a sweetner! The food was OK but nothing special, certainly not worth the wait or attitude of the owner. Probably the worst cafe I have ever been to - I will not be returning!

Whilst my car was having new tyres fitted at the Wolverton Kwik Fit first thing in the morning, and being told the job would take a good hour, I decided to walk the short distance into the shopping area of Wolverton to find somewhere to have a cooked breakfast. I came across the Sunnyside Up cafe right next to the New Queen Victoria pub directly opposite the Agora Centre. What a great find. When you walk in you wonder if this is actually a cafe as the themed decor is very unique - I was told by the friendly young lady serving that by day it is a cafe and in the evening it becomes the Braai Shack restaurant, serving many African inspired dishes including exotic steaks (Crocodile, Zebra, Ostrich etc)! The decor certainly had that African vibe. So, as the main purpose was to have breakfast, I ordered what is called the Big Breakfast - and boy, was it big! Served on what must be a minimum plate size of 25cm (10"), the plate was packed with beans, black pudding, bacon, sausages, fried bread, fried eggs and mushrooms - I passed on the tomatoes! With a mug of tea, it all came to £5.95. Okay, for that great value price, you are not going to get the best quality pork and herb sausages, but the sausages served were okay. Everything looked as though it had been freshly cooked to order. Don't expect to be given a teapot of loose leaf tea - you get a teabag in a mug with hot water served to you when you order at the bar. Hey, it's only £5.95 - and I did not have to eat again until the evening!!The service was very friendly; the young lady serving me was very enthusiastic when I asked about the history of the place, especially the decor etc. She proudly told me that the establishment is family owned: on the day, her mum and grandmother were both there too. The breakfast was brought to the table by the cook. It took a while to eat all that food and by the time I had walked back to Kwik Fit, the car was ready! A very pleasant (and filling) way to spend an hour.

The sunnyside up cafe is my regular go to place in MK for a good English breakfast. It has really nice unique African themed decor (I particularly like the tropical fish tank) as the place is also open in the evening as ‘The Braishack’ restaurant serving South African BBQ / steakhouse cuisine. The ambience is always very relaxed and quiet and it’s a really nice place to have a weekend fry up, chill out and read the paper. I wouldn’t go as far as to say the the service is friendly but it’s certainly always prompt, professional and courteous. Ordering is at the bar and then you’re given an order number for table service. There is free parking nearby in the Agora car park which is just opposite the cafe.

I live in Wolverton so I often visit this cafe with my family. My friends from Derby, Peterborough, and London have all visited this cafe with me, too. We all love it! The breakfast is always tasty (but never swimming in oil), the service is done with a smile, and it's value for money. Sometimes, all you want is an uncomplicated, unpretentious dining experience and that's what you get here.

Are here Saturday morning around 11am as a friend had driven up to stay for new year. We usually go to Frankie and Bennys but I had seen reviews for here and wanted to give it a go. So glad I did, not only cheaper but food so much better and there’s lots of it! I ordered the small breakfast which was plenty and the friend had the large one which is double everything. Daughter had fish fingers... what can I say? Suits kids as they can have any of the cafe options at anytime.

Walked in with misses and starvin. We had left Devon at 5 am Saturday morning. I wanted what I would say was a London type Cafe being from there. Very few if any in Devon do Omlettes, so was delighted to see them on the menu. Very popular place and GREAT food and lovely service. I asked the staff about the area and the transport to and from MK. They were only to happy to help. I would really recommend if I haven't already.

I eat regularly at The SUNNYSIDE Up Cafe, and all I can say is that you don't find better staff, service and most importantly food at a better price, anywhere else in Milton Keynes. I am under the impression that they have been publicly voted as the best breakfast cafe in the area and they defiantly deserve it. Ref. Sophie, I don't believe you are familiar with the way a cafe works, it is over the counter service as I have previously worked in many cafes but have never waited on anyone. I am in love with the theme and the decor, the family who run the cafe/evening restaurant (Braai Shack) I think originate from South Africa, hence the terrocota color and the African paintings. I am yet to try the Braai Shack but have heard nothing but how wonderful the food really is from family and friends.

I went here with my dad looking for something to eat. As soon as we walked in we both thought the décor was horrible and tacky. Orange walls, and several different types of flooring and zebra and leopard chairs. We weren't seated my a member of staff, and there weren't any menus on the tables, we had to get up and take a menu of a music stand. The food was even worse I ordered a ham& cheese Panini, the cheese tasted very cheap. My dad ordered a full English breakfast. He wasn't given any choice of what type of bread he waned, he asked for beans and was given a tinned tomato, tinned mushrooms that looked like plastic, and ended up eating 2 rashes of bacon and a fried egg for £12.

I have watched this place get progressively worse over the years. I "used to" buy a large amount of selection boxes for friends and families but now take my custom elsewhere. First of all they seem to employ obnoxious, rude and unhygienic staff with Napoleon complexes as a standard. Second, The place is getting progressively dirtier to the point I have had hair in my selection box and I am sure I saw something verminous scuttle under a table on one visit. Thirdly, The whole covid thing gave everyone a chance to be scared of cash. Personally i like cash and have never been scammed on my cards... because i use cash. Now all the restrictions are lifted. One of the staff members loudly and arrogantly refused my legal tender as i attempted to buy a selection box (is that even legal?) and seemed very pleased not to take my money. I have never seen a business model that doesn't want to take money? But I guess they can have their donut and eat it.

We love this local pub and hope the new managers make a success of it. We have eaten here and the food was nice pub grub but we will try the roast as they are getting great reviews. Our only criticism is that since the pub has been refurbished it really lacks warmth and ambience. The lighting is very bright and no pictures on the walls or lamps - it is no longer a cosy place you would sit for hours. Before they opened they had lovely hanging baskets too but not sure what happened to them.

Been to this Costa a few times and usually staff are very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately today (24/11/24) whoever the dark haired girl with an Eastern European type accent was, who was making the coffees around 12pm, completely spoiled our visit. Not only did she get our order wrong, she was rude, dismissive and was heard snapping at her colleagues and complaining that she’d ‘not had any sleep and was not in the mood’. The other workers appeared to be treading on eggshells around her. I hope the manager sees this and has a word with her. To the poor girl on the till taking orders - you did a great job despite almost losing your head when you were trying to work as a team and make sure our order was right.
