We stayed in Pendine sands for a week anted tried various restaurants and this was by far the most delicious home cooked food we tasted. We ended up having breakfast and lunch here and when we asked our 3 children where they wanted to eat on their last night on holiday this was the clear winner. Lovely staff David was just so friendly in particular and made us feel so welcome. A**** and an absolute credit to the park Dean Park

Absolutely fantastic food, definitely not like the pictures shown on here. We dined here whilst away, for Dinner and Breakfast. The food was served hot and tasted beautiful. Great quality ingredients. Cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of seasoning. The desserts are to die for. You have definitely got to try the cheesecake. The breakfast was the BEST I've ever had, so far. We go out for breakfast all the time and this wins hands down. Great portion, tasty, hot, great quality. I only wish I lived closer.

We frequent here regularly and always enjoy the food, drinks and great service in particular we wish to thank Mary Kate for todays service and consistently in ensuring our time at the diner is always enjoyable. By the way Mary Kate makes the best Costa flat white by far 😀 Furthermore the management team , Andrew & Harri are very professional, friendly people who will go above and beyond to meet customer needs and ensure you have a first class experience. They really have changed this place around and make a great team 🙌

Instant regret at seeing what emerged from the drier, had low expectations unwrapping and even lower expectations at the chip broke apart and fell off the wooden fork! Not a good sign. Yes, these chips were awful! The Chips were dreadful, oily, flabby things with no texture or substance. Managed to eat a few before feeling slightly nauseous. The sausage was a standard catering affair, minimal meat content possibly costing less than 20p per portion and marked hours as a n easy way to fleece a customer. Normally wouldn’t mind if chips are good, but when you literally throw the chips out of a car window- it’s been a pretty bad experience. There is a place for the frozen chip and done well, they do taste ok, but to call yourself a fish and chip shop and sell packaged chips that are this bad is taking the biscuit. The chip shop is part of the Parkdene empire so frozen catering shouldn’t be a surprise. Perhaps they should be forced to advertise ‘awful frozen chips’ on the menu board or call them selves a takeaway venue rather than a chippy! Potatoes are not that expensive or hard to peel! Give it a go…..

Can’t speak for the food as unable to order on their app. WiFi non existent, although seated we were unable to order personally, so left after 40 minutes of pure frustration.

Popped in for lunch yesterday and had a wonderful meal, would recommend the scampi, hummus and calamari, all cooked well and served promptly.

We had a fantastic meal in the beach racer. We all had different meals they all came out at the same time piping hot. Well done to Andrew anf the team especially the Chef, Russel and Angharad they always give us a warm welcome wiyh prompt and friendly service.

We decided to take a chance and it turned out well. The safety measures in place were fine. I ordered at the Bar, served by David who I can't say was the happiest person I have met. First disappointment no Sweet Sherry, when I asked you would have though I was asking for moon rock. G&T was the alternative, wifey had her usual Rum & Coke and my pint of Guinness was in decent form. We ordered the meals wifey had Chilli which she really enjoyed, our friend had the Ham and Eggs, which turned out to be a huge portion, I Cajun Chicken burger which was super. All in all a good choice.

On our first evening we ordered food here. I ordered lasagna and salad. The pieces of lettuce were unwashed and muddy. The staff were rude. 1st they said we couldn't order pudding, then we could! then after ordering they said they didn't have any only 1 pudding left. No apology what's so ever just a lot of attitude and eye rolling at us. It was not a pleasant evening . I would not recommend coming here

Sunbeam is really nice you have to drink outside as this virus is here very friendly they are doing takeaway food which is very nice

Great food and service even in the rain the chef went the extra mile preparing our food even in the queue in a busy period Cod cooked to perfection after a poor visit last season with this being one the few places open thought would give it a second shot and definitely changed my opinion and highly recommend

Looks more like a cafe and very small. Doesn’t look smart like it’s part of parkdean though. Meals were ok though and service adequate. Not bad value either. Given not much choice tho they kinda have you don’t they?

Visited Sunday after watching the straightliners on the beach. Kids were hungry and this was open. Decided to have Sunday roast - nothing on the plates were fresh, everything was cooked from frozen and roast potatoes clearly just thrown in a chip pan! Needless to say for two days after I was ill with diarrhoea and awful stomach cramps. Will never eat here ever again!

We were going to the beach for the day and thought we would have breakfast first, people near us had left most of theirs so should have known, ordered at the counter and waited 30 minutes, one egg, one slice of bacon, one half cooked sausage, tin mushrooms and 3 potatoes dots, ordered extra toast it is one slice. Drinks are costs coffee so they were ok, didn't get drinks till meals was served one at a time (there was only 2 of us) Poor customer service, even worse food, they have a captive audience but go elswhere

Whilst staying at the adjoining holiday park we thought we would give this a go for some quick/cheap eats one eveing. Walking towards the premises we didn't have high expectations, which was fine as all we wanted was some burgers and pizza. However, seeing the prices on the menu it was clear this was not 'cheap eats' but a proper restaurant!We spent just over £60 for 2 adults and 2 kids - which was mains, 2 pints and 2 kids soft drinks. When spending this amount usually we would be at a higher end restaurant or a nice country pub with proper home cooked food.So when we got served basic fast food meals we did feel a little duped! The food was alright, nothing wrong with it, but it felt more like a £30-40 meal tops.The staff were very 'hot & cold', one minute they were emotionless and unengaged and the next very chatty and accommodating! Drinks were very confusing, lots of advertising for cocktails so we asked for a couple only to be told they don't do cocktails!?! So asked for a Malibu and pineapple (common drink I believe) but told they don't have juice mixers! So asked for a Coors Light (as recommended in the menu as an accompanying drink for meal) but told they don't have any!!!I'll give this place the same feedback I have successfully given other park restaurants, and that is to put on food/drink offers to entice the guests on the park to use it - we were the only people in there, on an Aug bank holiday evening so clearly people are staying away or going elsewhere! This should make the cost more comparable to the quality of food.If in the area I would come here again, BUT ONLY if they review their prices and sort the drink selection out.

We tried to have breakfast this morning, staff very rude, said our dog had messed on the pavement outside the restaurant, we where told to leave .at no point did my dog do any mess,, I will never go to the place again the rudest staff I have ever felt with

Got to be the worst chip shop I’ve been to in a long time. Greasy stodgy cold chips. Very small cold greasy fish with unpleasant tasting odd bright orange batter and a price I would expect to pay somewhere with very high standards. My recommendation would be to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I am shocked at the reviews, we have been to many top class restaurants so we would never eat somewhere that wasn’t a good standard, we have ate in the diner a number of times and have never had a complaint, staff really helpful and we always have a steak and it’s been spot on, we’ve paid £20 to £25 for a steak elsewhere so the prices at the diner really good, no pleasing some people

Shocking. 6 of us ordered 6 meals and drinks. We got 5 meals. when we asked where the missing meal was we were told we'd only ordered 5. A brief complaint saw the missing meal delivered (slowly, without any apology, and without mention of payment). No further interaction from the staff. When we'd finished and were leaving, the 'manager' (an utterly inept child) confronted us like a store detective with a shop lifter, he'd waited outside for us to leave, before saying we hadn't paid for a meal! a clearly baffled security man was called, as was a superior staff member, while we were treated like petty criminals. I was quite happy to wait indefinitely for the police to be called, however we were eventually 'Let off' pending further investigation. No apology, no acceptance of blame, The attitude of the so-called supervisor was reminiscent of an angry adolescent. We were appalled, and will never, never patronise this dump again.

After a trip to pendine yesterday my wife felt like a fish and chip shop teat . Unfortunately for us we chose this place ,ordered 2 portions of fish and chips and mushy peas .The front of house males serving were not taking their role seriously enough and dished out of the range (cold fish!!) .When taking a seat outside in the sun ,discovered that both portions were cold as well as the mushy peas . Needless to say it went in the adjacent bin ,which I also noticed was full of previous diners meals too !Avoid this place at all costs and don't waste your hard earned money Like I did . A very disappointing experience. I could not even be bothered to go back and complain about it to be served up again with an excuse forca seaside treat .rant over !!!!!!

First night at Pendine Sands and went here for a family meal... Big mistake, food is horrendous, tiny portions but massive prices... Everyone was still hungry after our £60 meal... Had to throw away a glass of wine it was so bad and the scampi was the worst I've ever tasted... Do yourselves a favour and just don't bother going in here, you're better off going up the road to the "Chippy"

I had fish and chips here on Friday 7th September 2018. Not only did we have to wait 25 minutes, but it was absolutely disgusting. The fish was so small, they had smothered it in batter, which was so thick, it hadn't cooked. I've given a rating of one as the chips were nice, but as previous comments, they were frozen, so they couldn't really get that wrong.I go on holiday in this country every year, and I've had a few portions of fish and chips in my time, but this was, by far the worse ever.

Ate here 2 nights in a row last week. Reasonably priced food - pub fayre plus some good vegetarian options. My son has Coeliac Disease and eating out scares him. Staff were extremely helpful and went through allergen file with us to see what gluten free options he could have. He was pleased to be able to have a burger and had no ill effects afterwards hence our second visit. My partner and I tried some vegetarian dishes for a change and they were tasty. Surroundings are not 'posh ' looks a bit like a cafeteria / diner and ideal for families.

If you enjoy a long wait and cold food then this is the perfect place to go!!!! Now understand what they mean about all day breakfast, it takes all day to arrive!! !!

Having previously been here a couple of years ago , my family and I were looking forward to having food here again as it was amazing food and staff couldn’t do enough for you. We came here this time and the menu is very limited , the staff are awful especially one man who was more interested in talking and showing off to the staff. There was one lovely lad , tall with curly hair who couldn’t do enough for us. When we arrived table was still full of food and drinks and table was dirty - we had to move them and no one cleaned our table even though we asked the staff ! Food was ok but I won’t be coming here again !

We called in here whilst staying in Pendine and it’s definitely worth a visit. Food was good and service with a smile 😊

Who goes to a chippy only to receive frozen fried chips :-/ very disappointing, did not even eat them, total waste of money, plus staff were more interested in talking to each other rather than delivering an ounce of customer service, sorry guys, but never again ..... oh & portion size poor, not that it mattered to us because as previously stated” did not eat the chips,

Went here at the end of June, perfect weather for sitting outside with my dog and partner for food. The food was good and the staff were excellent, very friendly and even brought us out water for the dog. Portions for the lasagne were big. Only complaint was there was a weird skinny woman skiving food from the restaurant and wrapping herself in plastic bags who tried to bum a lift from me and my partner despite being a complete stranger. The staff seemed to know her though so she must be there regularly.

We just got back from Pendine Sands and ate at this diner a few times during our stay as the weather was far too nice to be cooking in a lodge!

Empty when we arrived, very limited menu at lunchtimes, had the kids chicken nuggets which our son loved, I had ham egg and chips (chips were cold when they arrived), husband has Sunday roast (beef), he said it was good.

Visited this establishment on 21/04/18 at the start of our holiday. There were only 3 families in at 1800hrs seated and eating. We and 2 other couples (not with us) went in and sat down. As we perused the menu my wife and I realised that the table we were at was rather sticky and needed cleaning. There were plenty staff members about who ignored us. We decided not to eat there as there could be health hazard issues and left. As we did so the other 2 couples did likewise with one of the males saying to ..a bit grubby mate....such a same for the sake of some hot water and a cloth.

We stopped here for food beforehand heading back to our caravan. Staff are friendly and food was delivered hot. The meal was lovely and my partner had bbq sauce from smothered chicken on side just how he asked

Having sat at our table on Saturday evening (APR 21) we were met by a quite young waitress who was unable to answer most of the questions from the menu. Very vague.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch .. friendly staff who work as a team ... compliments to the chef jono thanks ... we will be back !!!!

Tasty food and good service. Sadly it was too late for them to serve deserts although it was only nine thirty pm (half an hour before closing time).

We had lunch here on Wednesday 1st Nov, was ok, however my sister is vegan so wasnt much on the menu for her or didnt serve soya milk. When opening a restaurant you need to make sure you cover all needs of all customers.

Sunbeam Diner was almost a sad end to what had otherwise been an enjoyable stay at Parkdean Pendine Sands. First thing I need to get off my chest is either we were overcharged, or this place charges £2.90 for a glass of orange juice. I don't know how they justify this when a large Costa Americano "only" costs £3.10. This occurred over 14 hours ago and I still feel violated. Now onto the really bad. It wasn't particularly busy when we went in for breakfast but there were a number of tables that hadn't been cleared. We sat and waited, as did others, 35-40 mins for our food to be delivered and as I say it wasn't particularly busy. During this time, someone who appeared to be a manager/ supervisor came in and was clearly furious with the situation. Once he came in, tables started to be cleared at least but he obviously couldn't make the food cook any quicker. When our breakfasts arrived they were actually quite enjoyable for a time, although the beans were lukewarm at best. For a couple of hours afterwards though, all I could taste was grease. Was just an overall poor experience. Service was very laid back, food was cooked without care, and don't get me started again on the price of orange juice. Absolutely will not be going back.

We came here as the other restaurant at the parkdene resort was not open. The diner looked nice and they had a nice selection of burgers wraps and pizzas.

My husband and I ate here twice during our weekend stay at Pendine Sands. Meals were reasonably priced, filling and tasty. Service was good. Conveniently located.

Popped in twice during our short stay, once for dinner on our first night in Pendine Sands and the second for coffee before our departure home.

We liked the diner look, so we ordered two strawberry milkshakes they were supposed to be thick, at 3.85 I expect them to be topnotch .which they certainly weren't. Could hardly taste the strawberry.

We visited for the kids to have a treat. Lovely setting and friendly staff. Food over priced for what it is. Chips wasnt edible they was greasy. Chicken over cooked.

Overpriced menu, Miserable Staff and a restaurant that could be so much better than it is. Just nobody seems to care.

I asked for a bottled water and was told they didnt have any, but as we left i spotted bottles of it behind the counter. I ordered the meatballs with tomato, basil and parmesan, but it came without any basil and with slices of mild cheddar on the top. My friend ordered the cod and chips, but was pretty sure it wasnt cod! The decor was very grotty inside, the service was poor and we wont be going back again.

The staff were incredibly helpful and answered all my questions on allergies. They were polite and courteous. The food is what it fast food the chips were not the best but otherwise a good meal. Once was enough though.

We spent the day on the beach and decided to have some sausage and chips. We ordered four portions of chips along with sausages and some curry sauce. The sauce and sausages were not too bad but the chips were mostly inedible with many of them black and very greasy. We won't be using this chippy again.

We stopped here at just before 11.40a.m and were thrilled to see the board outside said 'breakfast served until 11.45'. We hurried in to grab a menu only to be told rudely 'you can't have breakfast now we've stopped serving, we are laying up for lunch which starts in 30 mins'. Needless to say we looked elsewhere and will never set foot in there again.

Frozen chicken , overpriced , nachos found its way onto the plate of chips , the salad was dry and for £8.15 for 8 very small dry chicken wings Iv no idea how they can charge this much ... a corn on the cob was £4.15 ..... avoid

The service here was OK at best, not friendly but not harsh. Food was at the at the table around 20 minutes after ordering, the chips tasted like they where oven chips and the pizza tasted the same. My friend had the chilli with nachos and the portion was generous but not very tasty, his partner had the chicken wraps and they looked very nice and she said they tasted great. The child's meal was of ample size but the food was oily and looked greasy.

Look this is a little diner not a major chain. This is a place to take kids after a day on the beach. Kids will enjoy it. Not great if you expect a gormet dinner.

We had fish and chips costing £6.30 each the long weekend of 27th May. The fish was ok, passable, but the chips were short, greasy, dark brown and tasted of used oil.

If you are by the beach one day and you fancy real good old fashioned fish and chips, do not come here. The chips are frozen oven chips and the prices are very high.

I'm sat here writing this review in disbelief. The caveat is that the kids are starving hence we are still here. I kid you not. They have told us that there is no pizza. No nachos. No chilli and no ribs. This is easter Monday??????? The discount we received was putting bland cheese on the chips and not charging us 30p for the the privilege!!!!!! Seriously avoid this place at all costs.

Tasteless... frozen fish and undercooked oven chips! Not what is expected for a trip by the sea! Don't bother... buying it yourself frozen would be less than half the price and probably a better job done! Very disappointed.

Service in here was amazing we were served by Ash what a lovely guy. We ordered 2 pizzas 1 spaghetti and meatballs and 2 kids meals all less than 40 pounds the food was fantastic absolutely delicious.

If you are looking for a lovely Fish &a; Chip takeaway shop then AVOID this! My dad fish was tasteless, the chicken nuggets tasted cheap and not very nice and the chips were a little greasy. The prices were quite expensive too! But overall my Nan enjoyed her meal!

We visited this place last Friday where i had the most amazing burger but it was advertised with coleslaw which they did not have any of. My husband ordered one of their ice cream sundaes only to be told there was a problem with the freezer and they could not supply it. We then decided to give this place another try on the Sunday where i ordered the meatballs and was once again told they could not supply this meal so i had fish and chips which was really awful - The chips appeared to have been cooked from frozen and did not taste very nice and the fish was tiny and overcooked. My husband once again ordered the same sundae only to be told they did not have the ingredients to make it ???????. The one thing they have got going for them is they make lovely milkshakes and thats just about it. If you are just looking for a milkshake then visit this place otherwise do not bother.

The chips were dry and the portion tiny. The burger could have been lovely but the bottom of the brioche bun smelled like it had been placed on a worktop which had been wiped with old dishwater.

We read the reviews and decided to give the Sunbeam Diner a miss but on Thursday afternoon we fancied an ice cream sundae an ventured inside.

Ordered a pizza, took about an hour to make a margarita. It came out burnt(black) & was very doughy. Like it was stale dough and had been cooked, reheated pizza. Chips were hard and uneatable as was the pizza.

We ate as half board guests at the Sunbeam diner and the noisier(holiday kids/party dancing)

Frozen fish that tasted like wallpaper paste, frozen chips, microwaved pie, slow service. We won't be eating there again. Ever.

the food here is is not value for money.my wife's pizza was over cooked & my cheese was under cooked, as for the chips they were terrible.for saying its a diner i expected better value for money.

I went here with 5 others I had the burger which was ok my only complaint was the bun needed toasting but everyone else had pizza and which for a couple of them came out black and the others that weren't burnt were really greasy... Food like that should never leave the kitchen! We did get 2 of the pizzas taken off the bill but all and all it was a horrible experience keep clear!

Breakfast was rubbish like it had been warmed up couldn't even get orders right yogurts was warm even after coming out of the fridge. Tells you to wait to be seated and no one comes staff just didn't seem to care. didn't no if you you had orders taken at the table or you had to go up and order never go back there again.

I think some of negative comments maybe the chip shop next to this diner because I couldn't fault what we ate. Ok it's not going to be Michelin Star food but for an American themed diner it was really good. The menu was easy to navigate, the staff were very friendly and looked after us. They have TVs on the wall playing music but not very loud which gave the place a nice atmosphere. So for me I would definitely recommend this for food. Mind you some of the antics I've seen at the chip shop next door has definitely put us off going there but a big thumbs up for the diner.

We sat on the veranda looking out to sea enjoying cake and coffee the food menu was good and the food looked nice, a little cramped near the entrance but we'll worth a visit the staff were very polite and helpful

Disgusting fish and chips . The chips were hard and the fish was battered in rubber . The waiting times are horrendous even when there is no queue . The staff could do with some training .

Don't stop here... Keep driving. Had fish and chips here, really bad!, Such a pity. I think everything was cooked from frozen because my fish tasted of nothing but water.. And not even salt water ! To be so close to fresh fish and Welsh spuds it was a crime to serve up what we had..

We ordered ice cream sundaes after waiting 10 minutes to be seated. The one Sundae came without a few of the listed ingredients (brownie pieces and fudge sauce - I ordered a fudge brownie sundae). We did get a discount on our sundaes after we complained, but wouldn't visit again.

We called in for a meal and, whilst the staff were helpful and attentative, unfortunately our meal was nothing to write home about and was disappointing. However, when the waiter asked if we had enjoyed our meals, we told the truth. He was apologetic and didn't charge us for our drinks as compensation.

Nice clean place owned by parkdean parks. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food not to bad chipe were french fries not that nice. Just putside the gates of the park seating good also outside seating. Walking distance to beach only downfall only open till 8pm on week days but 10pm on a weekend

There was a long wait for the meals, when the meals arrived they were wrong. The drinks were wrong. The meals were tasteless. Apparently there were no crayons/pencils for the children as they have all been broken. Staff were always talking about how they kept on asking for more staff from the holiday park (of which this “diner” comes under) but no one was interested in helping out. Very expensive for slop on a plate.

We visited the sunbeam diner a couple of times during our stay at the parkdean caravan park. It's a great place to stop off for ice cream when walking back from the beach to your caravan. We ate there one lunch time (2 adults 2 children) and ordered 2 pizzas to share. Food arrived promptly and was tasty although quite greasy. We were the only people eating at the time, but staff seemed quite disorganised- and a bit disappointing that the waiter presented my 2 children with an activity sheet, only to take it away again 5mins later saying they had no crayons!

called in late around 10.00pm....4 people sitting at tables, awaiting food, tried to order a simple burger and chips.....only to be told it would be at least 30 min wait.....needless to say we didn't wait just walked out. The diner appeared to be nice and clean....but cant comment on the food

Forget park facilities eat at the pub and cafe food was uncooked and the place was dirty my husband was I'll.

This little diner is a must if you want to eat out whilst in pendine on a average budget.

Me and my mates stopped for a hot chocolate after a long swim in the sea, we were shocked on how much it was and the two young boys were awful, I think there names were Michael and Gino, they make us three hot chocolates and still messed it up each time, very disappointed however the inside was very nice and it felt like we were in America, if I am to go back I will not be having a hot chocolate!!

Terrible, slow service with very rude and flippant staff. The food was over priced, tasted bland and there were very small portions. Would AVOID. Only positive was a member of the children entertainment team from the venue next door had to come in to assist serving as the waitress could not cope with the two tables (total of 5 people) alone, she was very polite and friendly.

This place could be so much better. Food was horrible and overpriced, with only 6 of us in the diner took almost 40 mins for the food to come out after ordering, I had what you can only describe as a burnt burger another person who had the meatballs had no sauce looked as if it had been chucked in the micro and the sauce had dried up. Had dinner here after avoiding as it is apparently attached to parkdean. Food was fine for what you expect. Nachos and peri peri chicken. Tasty and a hell of a lot better the the sands.
