Friendly staff, food look fresh and nice, we had the chilli and rice. Which I have to say was overly hot, as in cooked hot, it was lukewarm. Plus the chilli did not have much taste to it. I understand you have to make bulk but just slightly disappointed. Later on though, in the afternoon we had a cup of tea and shared a scone, jam and cream, that was much better.

There was a queue to be served and some of the food our party would have chosen had run out. But given we were hungry the solid servings were probably what we needed

Chicken curry was watery and tasteless. Worst of all, having obtained it, there was a 10 minute delay before anyone was on the till resulting in the food being completely cold by the time it was eaten. If you go to this café, I advise you stick with the sandwiches.

I do not expect fantastic food at museums but the sandwiches were underwhelming, but the cake and coffee were o.k. The cooked meals 12 to 2.30 are the best bit but the wait means the food gets cold. This has been the same for some years now and needs a serious look at.

Located in the historic Brooklands Clubhouse, the Sunbeam Cafe makes a pleasant place to have lunch (or breakfast depending on the time). There are plenty of tables inside and also some outside tables (weather permitting). There is a reasonable choice on the menu. I had decided to have a hot snack, rather than a full meal, and I can recommend the Cornish pasty. Very tasty. Covid-19 rules and restrictions apply and are obviously well managed. Tables are well spaced. Contactless card payments only, no cash. Friendly staff, great service.

Sunbeam cafe is fine for a basic snack and/or a tea or coffee when visiting Brooklands Museum. It is fairly basic but there is a good array of sandwiches and a few hot dishes. As there are no other cafes on site and you you will need a full day at the museum a majority of customers will come to the cafe sometime during their day.

There was a good choice of food. Hot meals were reasonably priced but the packaged salads were ridiculous prices - all for a few leaves and a spoon of cheese. We had jacket potatoes; they were cooked through but hardly warm, which was disappointing.

Like the layout of the museum itself, this pleasant cafe, (apart from pushchairs and riotous children), is not laid out in a logical way, with the small service area in the middle of the seating spaces. It is not over-priced but given the location, the food selection could be more attuned to the history of the place. Pleasant staff and tables cleared rapidly at busy times.

This is the only location at the museum to get a drink and bite to eat. On the day of our visit they were a little short staffed with an agency person helping who had no idea what she was doing or how to operate a till. In stark contrast anther member of the team was engaging and wanted us to be completely happy with our day and couldn’t do enough. That said, we deliberately waited until 2:30 to get an advertised cream tea only to be told they didn’t have any. Instead we were offered any cake and tea/coffee for the same price. Cake was very fresh and certainly hit the spot. I asked for a coffee and was given filter without clarifying exactly what I wanted. Overall a feeling of disappointment but the team tried their best to make it the best it could be.

Friendly staff, good selection of cakes, cooked food, sandwiches and a large variety of drinks. On this occasion I just had a nice cold bottle of Brooklands Goldstar ale, was enjoyed sitting outside in the sun. Good break! There’s also plenty of indoor seating and even a large children’s play area in the cafe. Great for a pit stop while exploring the attractions of the museum and attending an event, in my case today the American car day. Recommended!

I think a fair few reviews prior to this one pick out most of the bad points about this place, which is kind of disappointing. But first and foremost, the drinks are way overpriced! £2.10 upwards for standard 500ml still or sparkling water!!!!!

Took my sister and her husband to cafe as nice treat for breakfast before looking at museum. They where visiting me having travelled from north Wales. I was embarrassed when their food was not of an acceptable Standard. Returned badly cooked fried egg. (The white was raw). No apology. Cook argued that it was not his fault . I should have specified how cooked my sister's fried egg should be!!! Unbelievable. Will take my visitors a picnic in future.

We are regular visitors and every time we ask about allergens in the meals served we are given either inaccurate or evasive answer from the serving staff. They always have to ask in the kitchen despite the restaurant serving the same food every time we visited. Also, cakes labelled as 'gluten-free' are NOT gluten free because they are left right next to the 'normal' ones with the same serving utensils and without any covering so they are contaminated. Staff have been asked to rectify this on 3 previous visits yet last time it was just the same. Reshuffling the tills didn't help as people queing with trays block the doors into the cafe. The food itself is good, just correct the mistakes, educate the staff and it will be a winner.

I came here with friends for a hot lunch and afternoon tea. There was a much better range of hot food than I had expected which was home cooked, very good quality and excellent value at about £7-8 for a main dish. The scones were really fabulous too. The cans of San Pellegrino were £2.40 which I thought was a bit dear. Other than hot food there were salads, sandwiches and snacks for kids too.

Great atmosphere and relevant furnishings for a motor museum so it felt very relaxed. There was a very good variety of hot meals on offer for the size of the cafe and there was lots my wheat intolerant diet could choose from. Two GF choices of cake in the morning too which was a bonus. One issue I had was the organisation of getting a much needed cuppa. Self help teabag and hot water in mug, THEN queue up to pay. A longish wait meant my tea was stewed and no opportunity to add milk and remove teabag until after payment was completed by which time it was too late to add more water. Not so good.

In effect this s the museum cafe. It has grown over the years to meet the needs of the increasing visitor population. It rather depends on the catering contractor, but the standard of food is good and varied whilst being the main attraction for some. There are enough staff to assist and respond to specific needs.

I tried very hard to like this restaurant as all the staff were just so sweet and helpful but I failed. It was rather overpriced and frankly the chilli con carne I had was no more that mince on rice - chilli was entirely lacking.as were amy condiments like cheese or sour cream Plus £4.50 for a rather small brownie and coffee seemed a little on the pricey side. However other half stuck with a cheese scone and loved it. It was not all doom and gloom tho as the ambience is very nice tho and the self-service water dispenser was a nice touch. and as I mentioned the staff were all very helpful and sweet

No complaints at all about the fish and chips at £9.95. It was superb, 5*. But the tortilla with salad arrived without the dressed carrot and cole slaw mix, had to be sent back. No forks so had to use a tiny picnic one use with a proper knife. Courteous and helpful start.

I have eaten at the Bear a few times and the food has been excellent. Unfortunately this time (Sunday night) I thought it wasn’t up to standard. Soup was watery, pork roast came without crackling, new potatoes were cold, tenderstem charred. They did offer my parents two free drinks/or pudding as they both had the watery soup. I think for the price, they need to get back on top of the quality of plates they are serving. The service we had however was excellent and the waitress was very friendly.
