Great All you can Eat literally the Best in Birkenhead, Great Value for Money been here many Times with family went today & lovely Yan on the bar knew what Drinks we wanted on our Table which was nice he remembers us & what we like to drink which was a nice touch. All the other staff our lovely too. Also have Disabled access & Toilets 5⭐️

Lovely array of dishes and deserts .excellent service hot food replenished often. Excelent prices could not fault. Dinks cheap also. Well done .

We thought we would have a meal out to celebrate a close friends birthday, and thought we would support a local business rather than going to a big company . What a mistake that was . We arrived and met our party on the table , even before we sat down there were already so many issues that my party has experienced . One of the members of the party has a significant nut allergy which we made the staff aware of . Rather than providing the parent adequate details on allergens , the worker who could hardly speak English , went around the dishes and said what to not eat . The parent had requested the allergen list of the dishes served ( which is required by law) and with significant hesitation the worker eventually provided this . The next issue we had was when we were going up to get food and the lady who works there ( which I can only describe as the dragon lady ) approached one of my friends and was very abrupt and aggressively told him that he shouldn’t be using a soup bowl to put his food in ( he explained it was because the food he was getting had a lot of sauce ) . The staff there are incompetent , and tried to charge adult price to a young boy of primary school age, the service was slow , the hot food choice was poor , and the desert section was laughable. Considering the business has a 5 star food hygiene it was cross contamination central. Its a death trap in that place , the plates were kept in a a hot plate warmer, and were dangerously hot , it might be a nice touch to have your food served on a warm plate , but In this case you were likely to leave there with burnt fingers , there were no signs about surfaces being hot . I would have had a better experience having a lot noodle at home

I went in as a secret reviewer after signing up online this is what happened. After watching when others went in I noticed groups and people by themselves were sat down immediately, had their drinks ordered and got their food. When I entered the establishment I was forced to pay first then pointed over to where I should sit. The food isn't the best quality but is okay given the area. You could tell it had been sitting there a while while other things like the duck and rice and noodles dishes were brought out often. In my experience the staff wasn't too friendly but they were to others.

Everything in the trays was cold dry and stale and the staff didn’t care. We will never eat here again. I would suggest walking over to the food and having a look at the quality before sitting down and if it looks unappetising walk out and go somewhere else.

Got to be free cheapest Chinese all you can eat I've ever been to. My kids love it, we go there often. Not the best place by any means but 1000% better than McD's etc.. and roughly the same price. Try it out guys!

Food was plentiful and covered a variety of dishes and if that wasn't enough they even had deserts

Came on a sunday evening, was very busy so trusted people liked the food! And for a buffet was very happy with it, lots of choice (3 platefuls), of chicken, beef, pork &!a king prawn, and all still hot as well. Forgot the 2 soup options mind. Waiter helpful as well.

We - a party of six adults and one child - had a table booked for 5pm on a Saturday night. This is when the price for the all you can eat buffet increases from £10 pp to £13.50. There was one table already occupied, presumably from the earlier cheaper time. We arrived on time. So help yourself - easier said than done. The chicken and sweetcorn soup container was empty and so many food compartments were either empty or nearly empty. I was struggling to gather enough food together for something resembling a meal. For dessert, there was very little choice and there was no jelly and very little ice cream. The staff were informed of the non-availability but no urgent action was forthcoming. The food quality was well below the standard that I have come to expect from this establishment. It looks as though the food that was available was still there because the previous diners had eaten all the good stuff - hence all the empty containers. At 6pm, the soup container was replenished and the jellies too. Around 6.15pm onwards, some of the empty food compartments were beginning to be filled. So, at least the later customers would have something to eat. Our complaints fell on deaf ears. We had booked a table for 5pm. We were paying an increased price to eat from this time, not from post 6pm. It's not as though it was that busy at that time. If the food isn't available, the restaurant should not be open. Maybe Sun Yung have become blasé or just sloppy and lazy. Whatever the reason, I don't think that having no competition helps the customer. Perhaps it's time to avoid the all you can eat buffet idea altogether and go to a proper Chinese Restaurant - Summer Palace is only around the corner. All in all, not a pleasant experience and one unlikely to be repeated.

Pleasant enough, rather basic and quiet. Food was OK, not great. The staff were nice and quick to clear away after we'd finished a course. Not a bad price but all just a bit average.

Lovely atmosphere with friendly faces. Food is fresh, sooo delicious. If you love Asian food, this is the best place to come!!! Very clean, kind and helpful. Had an amazing time celebrating my husbands birthday. Will definitely be back! Great value for money!!!

Biggest let down was the crispy duck really looking forward to this but Duck looked liked it was greated rather than shredded Rest of the food offered very good

I have done a number of reviews of this restaurant so this is a 2023 update about my 4 visits over tha last 6 weeks. The atmosphere is superb, you could really believe that you are in China or Hong Kong. Lovely chinese music and the place is spotless and now has an excellant level 5 hygeine rating certificate, lst inspected in 2021. The attitude of the staff varies between extremely friendly to indifferent, depending upon who is on. Generally they are helpful. The food though can be errratic. One visit can be a good selection but the next visit can be a poor selection. If you ask for something, they will often get it for you but on a bad day, in the most expensive sitting, there can be very few items available. Last time, I even had to ask for rice because there was none at all and many trays were not just empty but cleaned, not being used. Surely just simple boiled rice is easy enough to keep provided. Prawns, which are supposed to be for the evening sitting, are often missing and need to be asked for but it gets monontonous to keep asking for dishes. After all, it is supposed to be a buffet. As for Lychee's, the usual chinese desert fruit, they have been missing for many, many months with only simple cheap fruit coctail available. The soft ice cream machine also has been retired so the selection gets less and less. We have been using this restaurant for many years and still like going there but recently its a toss of a coin of whether you have a really enjoyable meal or a disappointing one. Hopefully they will improve to keep a regular good standard of dishes that their prices deserve.

Is it what it is, nothing special.

Tried here last night for the first time and it was fantastic! Great price and more importantly great food with no complaints about anything we ate. Was sceptical about visiting because of the bad reviews but I would say you know what you are getting with a buffet and this one is better than most I’ve been to.

Myself and my fiancée decided to go their for our evening meal has been lovely and yummy in my tummy. The staff was helpful and kind and very welcoming. The buffet was fantastic especially fish with salt and pepper and curry samosa and lovely noodles with beansprout is brilliant

It's been 2yrs since my last visit, maybe longer. Its a shame as its looking tired and quiet, it's probably more to do with the town center dying and foot traffic very low. Staff and service very friendly. The food was not so appetising this time around, my chips were all dried up, I think the choices were less than I remember. The food was OK, but not wow. The dessert section was basically ice cream and a fairy cake, nothing else was appetising. The selection was very limited. Is it really worth £10+ per head, not really as the food is mediocre at best. Yes it's all you can eat, but you don't really want too with the Limited choices. Like what you like and stick to that. I found the special fried rice the best of a ok selection and the house curry sauce, which was just like a chippy curry sauce if that's your thing. It's looking a bit tired now, paint coming off the main door, and lacking any real atmosphere. I would love this place to be as busy as it used to be and the food hot and inviting. But like the rest of the town center, it seems to be dying. Would I visit again? If I was invited to meet up with friends, but I will give it a miss for a while.

Good little Chinese and cheap enough.

Found on Google search when we were looking up for an all you can eat place in Birkenhead. Great, central location just behind the Pyramids shopping centre. No free car park but cost only £1 per hour on side. Staff was very polite and helpful. They did a huge effort to keep the place immaculate, though the mid- teen kids made huge mess, and they had to deal with the extra pressure. Kids shouldn't hang around if they can't behave. Or visiting strictly with parents. Food is good. Not too wide variety, but good! Enough! Piping hot, what is an other important point of view. Ice cream, cakes, fruits also available. The buffet costs £8 on Sunday what is absolutely excellent. Yea, overall a great place. Worth to visit! We will definitely going back in the future.

Visited tonight for a family celebration. I just wanted to thank the staff for being lovely and caring. We had a drink spill and it was dealt with quickly and efficiently and was able to return to the meal. This is a great place with an excellent menu with very responsible drink prices and a variety of sweets and dessert. Great for families and wheelchair users. Thanks for a great evening to the staff. You doing a great job and deserve a lot more custom.

Amazing Chinese. Restaurant was packed full. The Buffet food was really nice, always being refreshed and filled. The staff are fantastic, Running around doing everything to ensure your experience is a good one. Very clean, welcoming staff and amazing food. Shame we don't live close by, recommended to anyone who loves a Chinese buffet.

Good food big tables for parties

We loved this place, went after a go in the arcades in New brighton. Staff doted on our kids, food was fresh and tasty, lots of options bit of a diamond in the rough for sure as the road doesn't really fit the restaurant but it was great.

Dont expect any ambiance or charm. There was a good selection of dishes, including two soups. and many starters Plenty of choice of main dishes all cooked well and hot. Choice of fruits,cakes and ice cream all for £9-50 weekdays more at weekend Next time I go I will just eat what I would normally order in a restaurant, otherwise theres a tendency to over-eat if you try eveything.

Gave me horrible food poisoning

My favorite about this place is the ribs double ribs man It was absolutely amazing especially the ice cream the ice cream was so good I couldn't even wait to eat my ice cream I instantly got bring freeze every time I tried to bite the ice cream but it was so delicious sadly I do not get any pictures so I can't show you guys what I experienced but it's absolutely amazing I recommend you go there and eat And you have a summer ice cream man it is top notch

Was chaged for two kids under 10 for adults cause of a height thing come to £89.00 expensive meal

Edible but otherwise not recommended. The whole buffet had the same three flavors and it was either dry, too sweet, or bland. Not authentic at all if that is what you are looking for.

Took my children age 6 and 9 charged me for 3 adults because my children are tall,, they ate 6 chicken balls an orange and ice cream between them!!

Food was amazing as always. Service was fantastic, especially from Lin. She was extremely attentive and helpful and catered to our every need with a huge smile on her face. This has become our favourite family restaurant and we of course will be returning.

Great value food, half the cost of most other buffets in the area. Food is always tasting good and can request fresh cooked if aomethinsg running low. Other reviews complaing about deserts are not thinking of the cost and the amazing value. Your getting a full buffet for the price of a big mac meal and dinner time and still very good value for linch menu. Highly recommended for the cost.

A complete dumpster fire. When we walked in, three ladies were ranting about how terrible it was. We went in anyways as we had been going for 13 years. The "food" has reached the limit of what humans should consume. The beers taste oxidized around the upper rim. That is just the start. The lady said we can request anything to be made freshly. Ok. The food selection has never changed once since I have been going there. The food this night was stale, sitting there for far too long and unedible. When we requested prawns, the prawns had been reheated and served in the buffet area. The shells stuck to the prawn and were obviously from earlier in the day or the night before. The rest of the food is just a nightmare. Do not touch the dessert area you will get cooties. Never go here, they give 0 f0ckz.

As other people have stated, myself and a friend entered 40 minutes before the next price bracket started ( purely by chance as 1st choice fully booked ) and was charged at higher price when leaving. Food ok and value for money ( at correct rate ) and was clean with staff friendly.

Sun ying is all right just the food there I'd rather eat from a van its 60 pond per person and its not quite good if you wanna get a ripoff and bad 5hings or not don't worth it

Food okay, they didn't restock when they ran low on food. Some food was tasteless, some delicious. Very limited options for dessert. Made partner ill.

Restaurant is kept clean and dishes are cleared away from tables. Met by the most miserable looking staff member I've ever encountered and shown to table, given no information about buffet. Returned to take drinks order but barely spoke and when did was inaudible and not even a whisper of a smile- not a great start! Food at buffet was fairly hot, limited choice of starter and main dishes. VERY poor dessert choice!!! Some jelly, fruit, choice of 1 cake (already plated) and some kind of small coconut biscuits . Choice of ice cream (all tasted grainy/icy). A very small , easily missed sign says you can request apple or pineapple fritters. We asked for a portion of banana and pineapple which were really tasty but literally one very small piece arrived at the table delivered by our not very helpful server who had to be asked which was which- again no sign of a smile. When it came to payment we discovered that we had been charged for 5 adults (we have a 14, 12 and 9 year old). The charge was questioned and we were told that 9 year old pay full adults price. I referred back to website and height chart on wall which says over 140cm is adult price and they did agree to alter bill. The diet cokes were overpriced for poor quality- do not sell cans or bottles of the 'real' product. I am aware that £10.50 is a reasonable charge for a dinner but given the choice, quality and service and the fact that none of us enjoyed our dinner, I cannot recommend this restaurant to other families.

We got there and immediately staff were unpleasant After we got food, which there wasn't much choice the chicken balls were raw and my 3 year old ate half of one The noodles were that spicy and over seasoned you couldn't breathe The cakes were rock hard like they have been sitting there for two weeks straight in the full sun After them telling us 3 years and under eat free we went to pay and told me I had to pay for him! I also voiced my complains and they spoke in their language and laughed about it. I'm not surprised it was empty. Absolutely shocking how anyone could run a place like this.

Do not eat here! Food was tastless and all meat dishes were very poor quality, full of fat and barely warm. Coke and lemonade tasted like it had been watered down.
