As always, such amazing food is tasty and hot. The crispy duck was fantastic, and mixed combo starters always great from here.

Having left the below excellent review previously I'm now left disappointed. The food is still excellent however the last 4 times we have gone to order on delivery we have found them to be closed early, not as advertised or as usual. Frustrating as cannot now rely on them. Will have to start looking at competitors when we have been very very loyal until now. Delicious food every time we order, particularly love the black bean dishes and the jumbo prawn rolls! The staff are very friendly on phone or when we have gone in. Very quick for collection and great delivery times and lovely drivers also. Definitely our go to Chinese in Heswall!

The chips weren't chippy chips... They were oven chips. No salt or vinegar. Never been so dissapointed 😔

I can't get enough of The Welcome Takeaway!! I have been ordering half a duck at least once a week it's amazing! The veg is always fresh to go with the pancakes and the duck has enough meat to feed an army. My favourite though is the crispy seaweed. Would definitely recommend! :)

We love the cashew and chicken dish. Normally I collect in person and they are extremely quick at preparing the delicious food. However I tried the delivery service this time ( think it’s Just Eat???) I think they took way too long getting it from the shop to our home which is only a brisk 10-15 minute walk from the shop. Having mentioned that… it was still hot enough to eat … although not as hot as when I collect. Think I will stick to collecting in future.

Received my order on time. Delivery with a smile and friendly chat. Wish could say the same for the food. Sumai was tasteless. Thank god for soysauce. Ribs were dry and stringy . Syrup no existent , sorry in the wrapper. Chicken curry was tasteless, not hot in heat and sauce congealed . £23 down the drain but the bin ate well

Absolutely terrible food, poor quality chips they were hard and more like cheap oven chips, the prawn toast was rock hard and extremely greasy and tasteless not fit for a dog, the spring rolls were not cooked properly and the out layer of ‘crispy’ batter was thick and not at all crispy it was like having Yorkshire pudding mix uncooked, disgusting, the chicken wings were not fresh and also looked like they had been pulled out the freezer. The chicken and sweet corn soup was green I have never seen anything like, looked like frog poison and the chicken in the soup was highly processed, no spring onion in it or any form of little extras on any of the dishes, I would go as far as to say this is the worst meal I have ever eaten in my life, extremely disappointing when you look forward to a treat at the weekend and a night off cooking. The woman was also very rude. Wouldn’t go back if someone paid me.

Food was delivered cold and inedible. Fatty meat, greasy noodles and tasteless. We rang to complain and the owner’s attitude was unbelievable, she was rude and even put the phone down!! We actually returned the food to them but she just yelled and said we were the worst customers ever!! We have bought before and found it very good. ,

Do NOT EAT here...these people are taking advantage of this pandemic and serving cheap inedible food when the great local restaurants have had to close. The woman who I complained to was so rude,would not let me speak,ranted and then hung up! You do not deserve to be in business with this attitude. Just shocked and appalled at how rude people can be!!! Will be spreading the word and would never eat here again, apparently I am the first customer to ever complain🤣🤣🤣. Nevermind Corona, you will start a new pandemic with your food.

I thought I'd order from this takeaway as a treat but sadly it did not taste anything like it was supposed which was a garlic sauce dish! I specifically ordered this dish as I felt all the other dishes were sweet which I did not want, however, this dish turned out to be the same as the other ones anyway!

A little bit disappointed with my meal - ordered a garlic sauce dish with prawns, but it tasted more like sweet and sour! :( a bit bland unfortunately

I’ve been here a few times for their crispy shredding chicken! I usually order via just eat but living out of heswall means I go and pick it up. It’s always safe when you go in and they are really covid conscious. I loved their dim sum selection.

First visit myself and two friends for takeaway, VERY impressed all round, service, food,menu selection is AMAZING, each of us had a different meal and we were ALL in agreement that it was THE BEST Chinese meal that any of us had ever had, generous servings plentiful veg, meat prawns, etc, highly recommended. ( TOP CLASS )

Just tried to order through just eat but as we have a food allergy we called the restaurant only to be rudely told they don't serve anyone with a food allergy. Pretty disappointing in this day and age they can't cater for one allergy. Women who answered the phone was very rude and dismissive.

One 🌟 because you can't give a NO Star... this was our first time trying this place 🤮 got too be the worse food we have ever had... it's gone straight to the bin...the Spring rolls were vile...the chicken was slimy and tasted like it had been soaked in a jar for a while even the dog turned his nose away from it... this is an honest review we put it in the bin...£30 wasted 😶🤮🤮

Best Chinese take away I have had. Quality product, expertly prepared, large portions and piping hot. Placed the online order early evening midweek and arrived within forty five minutes. We are occasional take away eaters and this was the first time using this establishment. Would recommend.

Great friendly clean take away with great food and if you phone for your order, you get extras free, which is more than others do ...The food is great to and so are the staff...This is by far the best place to go in the area and delivery times are normally very good too

The worst Chinese takeaway I've ever had. Veg spring rolls tasted like they were made a year ago, sweet and sour chicken was in a sauce that tasted like bubble bath and the beef in Cantonese sauce was the worst meal I've ever had the misfortune to eat. Even the chips were stale. STAY AWAY FROM HERE AND SAVE YOUR MONEY.

My family came to visit me as they were driving through town and we decided to come and try this place! We thought the service was kinda slow and they weren't that busy but we got the vibe they the waiter was just giving us a lot of time to talk and stuff. I got the ribeye which was super gooodd and tender. My mom got the fried shrimp and she also liked it. Overall a solid choice for dinner

My husband and I had a fantastic meal from Welcome. We started with the chicken and sweet corn soup, then had the delicious barbecue spare ribs. For our main course we had chicken fried rice, with sweet and sour sauce and chips. The whole meal was amazing, I would definitely recommend this take away👍🏻.

I haven’t had a Chinese in a very long time and I can honestly say it was amazing! I thought the price was steep at £27 for only 5 items, thinking they’d be the same size I’ve had from other Chinese, however when we collected the food, the portions were huge for 3 of us and it could definitely have done 5 of us! We ordered shredded beef; sweet& sour chicken; egg fried rice; chips and a special combination (starters) it was delicious!

Great food! Local to me. Order at least 1-2 times a week. Unfortunately gone far too expensive. Won’t be ordering again now. Such a shame

I had the chicken fried rice with chips and curry with chicken and sweetcorn soup for starter, I enjoyed this meal very much and they have an online menu on facebook, If you type Amy zhu into facebook the menu shows up and then you can call the number to order after you price upyour order.

Never again. Poor beef curry. Cold chips. Beef and green pepper no flavour .Fried rice cold and flavourless. Can anyone recommend a decent Chinese takeaway in Heswall or Pensby?

They do the best gyoza and dumplings! The food is always good. Would never go anywhere else for Chinese food.

Worst Chinese ever, the chicken was literally all fat, not even sure if it was chicken! The peaking sauce is also to salty and sweet! Unbearable

Had one chicken and one beef dish neither of which resembled either animal. I have no idea what was in it but it was so disgusting that the lot went in the bin.

Just had the salt and pepper chicken. Amazing!! They even put extra chillies on for me and peppers and was delivered within the hour!

Worst Chinese food I've ever 'eaten' and probably the worst meal ever as it was an inedible disappointment from start to finish. Far, far too salty - too much msg trying to makeup up for lack of any other flavour. I'm often disappointed by sweet, orange/red artficially coloured food but they even managed to ruin a ginger spring onion dish which was an extremely salty brown gloop attempting to disguise fatty beef. Duck dish also too salty to eat and bulked up with onions. Soup was like drinking brine with bits of onions and sweetcorn in it. Fried rice was a very poor effort too. Found it laughable that they supplied extra soy sauce - as if it wasn't already salty enough. There is something seriously wrong with the chef's tastebuds. Hope they improve things for the sake of poor unsuspecting customers as I definitely would not return.

Not a regular take away eater but over the past 30 odd years I have used the Welcome take away on numerous occasions and always loved the food. Today we ordered a take away for the family to celebrate my birthday and whilst the food was OK it wasn't to the standard I would normally expect. Just left me feeling slightly disappointed.

I chucked it all in the bin...and I was a hungry girl that night. Spring rolls saturated in soy sauce - the worst offenders. Everything tasted like Chinese Food For People without Taste Buds - seriously awful.

My wife is a Filipina and loves Chinese food. She said the Special Chow Mein was better than some other establishments. I personally prefer western food and can vouch for their jumbo sauages, very nice. Delivery was very fast.

Just ordered Singapore fried rice , this can only be described as disgusting! It was clumpy, sticky and obviously been warmed up! We also ordered Singapore chow mien which was equally as disgusting. We will never order from there again and I advise that no one else do.
