I made an order online and it said 20 minute wait, so i left about 15 minutes after placing my order, but was sat in the shop for 40 minutes, chips aren’t even proper chippy chips there frozen chips, food was that greasy it had filled about a 1cm dept in the plastic tub, the lady on the front is not very professional, didn't smile once in the 40 minutes we were sat in there. Maybe they should rethink their wait time and update it online. They had also told 2 other customers in the shop to give her 10 more minutes on there orders that they had either placed over the phone or online to which they both were still in there for at least 30-40 minutes too. Would not recommend and would not order again. The best place to go for proper chippy chips is Ocean Star in Pensby!

If I treat myself to a chippie tea I want proper chippie chips, not frozen chips!

The best crispy chili beef. Me and my boyfriend come here especially to get it as a treat. The food is always hot, the restaurant is always clean and presentable.

Popped in for late night meal take away and it was simply wonderful. Taste was exquisite would highly recommend x

Having seen good reviews I thought I'd try this place for my wife's meal Special fried rice. Very unimpressed the rice was clumped together and could hardly see any meat in the rice that would indicate it was 'special'. They have got a cheek calling this 'Special fried rice'.

Absolutely awful, there used to be a queue out of the door for this place. We ordered chicken chow mein , I couldn't see the chicken and it was dry. Chicken with yellow beam sauce and salt and pepper chicken . The chips were about the best thing served. The chicken with yellow bean sauce turned out to be chicken with honey mustard. I could hear the staff in the kitchen talking in Chinese and in-between in broken English they kept saying honey mustard which is what we appeared to get. The salt and pepper chicken was like rubber and soggy. I would not bother tbh. Shame used to be lovely.

First time getting a takeaway from here. Disappointed! Very very salty fried rice and noodle dish, couldn't eat it. Will be going back to our usual takeaway choice in the future.

The meal for one was a vast sea of delightful and sinful comfort food, served with friendliness, and my only regret was they don't open at lunchtime as then I'd have a chance of burning all those calories before bedtime. As things stand half of it is in the fridge for tomorrow.

We’d stopped going to the Imperial after it had changed hands and the quality was poor. I’d heard that it was now under new ownership again and the food was great. I gave it a try last night and it was absolutely fantastic, dare I say, even better than before. To all who were the same as us, and stopped going, please give it a try. You won’t be disappointed

We visited friends and after looking around order from here. It was one of the best Chinese takeaway meals we have had and was not greasy at all compared to many others around the country.

Although under new management, my very recent experience was good with the lady at front of house, but when I got home I was decidedly unimpressed with their food quality and quantity.

We’ve just ordered from this place, as it’s under new management we thought we’d give it a try, placed the order and was received, then got an email saying “sorry your order has been cancelled, “ stating various reasons like no driver available or they are too busy, not delivering in our area (1.5 miles away) or ordered too late or other reasons ha ha. I’m not impressed and will look elsewhere for better service.

This was by far the best Chinese around, but not sure if chef is new? Previous lady from front desk seems to have gone. My hot sour soup wasn't edible last week, & chips were burnt overcooked, maybe regular chef is on holiday?? Hopefully, who knows, but if not the prices definitely don't match the food quality. So disappointing.

Used to be the best Chinese, we get a take away once a week at the weekend for movie night and usually go with imperial, never had a problem until tonight. Apparently changed ownership and it shows! arrived cold with half the order missing we rang to see if we can get the rest of the order delivered and was told no , so then we said ok come and collect what we have got and we will have a refund. To be then told we can have the rest of the order for an additional £3 delivery cost 😂 we agreed (we were never going to pay this as it's their fault). The rest of the food came just as cold and horrible. Honestly not edible at all, my dog will eat anything an he even turned his nose up. Gutted we didn't know they had changed hands. If I could give zero stars I would but unfortunately not an option. Don't waste your money it's like luke warm stodge.

Friday night food. Told it used to be really nice. Just wished I'd come on here first. Chips greasy, soft, thin frozen variety, not fresh potato. Looked reheated and cold. Soup watery and no real taste. Could go on but going to make a sandwich. Lost a potential return customer, many food takeaways in Heswall, and this one will not be on my list.

IF I could of give it 0 starts I would Spent £46 last night for a meal for the family and I’ve never ever had a worst takeaway I have been too no taste what so ever atall chips where soggy not cooked fried rice was shocking I would never go here again !!!

Had food from Imperial a couple of times now and feel they are the best Chinese takeout in the area. Delivery has been speedy. Lots of veg in the dishes we chose which was nice. Particularly enjoyed the prawn toast, and king prawns with green peppers in black beans sauce. Wouldn’t opt for chips again but portion sizes are so generous it wouldn’t be needed. Best Chinese takeout I’ve had in a very long time.

The place served really nice food a while ago but it is all gloopy and salty now, no real flavour, I ordered chicken with cashew and yelowbean it was like fried rock hard lumps of chicken covered in thick burnt soy sauce with raw cashews on top, not impressed

We ordered 3 mains and 3 sides. The mains were bland, so-called oyster sauce was not oyster sauce as I know it. Beef in black bean sauce was edible. A side of duck spring rolls had no duck, just a mush, we each had a taste then threw them away. The chicken balls were only OK. The only thing that was slightly better than OK was prawn crackers. We will definitely not be ordering from here again

Very disappointed,spent £30 on a takeaway,starters and dinners so so salty, couldn't eat the seaweed again so salty ,sweet and sour sauce dreadful,spare ribs not good at all ,most of this take away went in the bin.sorry to say I won't be going again.

i have just had the most disappointing meal ever from here.half an hour late delivery,2 meals missing but paid for,then 20 mins wait for that so everyone else had finished theirs,tasteless so called blackbean sauce,discusting curryied chicken watery and horrid pieces in it.Never ever will we use this chinese again.Sorry Lee+Laus back to your beautiful meals.

I’ve been here twice now and both times there has been meals missing from the order. Second try of this takeaway was atrocious, chicken was grey and had a funny smell to it. Horrible

We had chilli paper robs to start and two pad Thai meals could not fault them only that be warned the portions are huge highly recommended x

If i could give no stars I would! The meal was awful. Ordered sharing box to start, ribs were dried up and chewy, spring rolls tasteless and mushy inside, prawn toast thin and tasteless. Chicken satay overcooked and rubbery. 1/4 duck ordered, probably the better part of the order but still dry, not particularly hot and very watery hoisin sauce. Main meal was crispy chilli chicken, again tasteless, overcooked and bland. Fried rice was literally fried so much it was more like a rosti than grains of rice! Cost £33 delivered. Overall, appalling quality, had better from a supermarket take away section! I'd avoid this place if you're looking for decent Chinese food.

Placed an online order 3 hours before the meal was required. After 40 minutes of waiting passed the delivery time I called to find out what had happened. The woman told me the order was still there and not been collected yet. It would be another hour for delivery. I said no, just refund me. She said I’d have to go into the shop as she couldn’t refund online. I explained the reason I was getting it delivered is because I couldn’t get to the shop. She said again, I had to go in or wait for the order. I asked for a refund again and she said she couldn’t refund online orders and started getting really rude. Once I explained I’m pretty sure it’s within my rights to get a refund online, she said a driver would bring me the money in 1 or 2 hours. Then proceeded to hang up. It’s currently 8.30pm and I’m annoyed, hungry and NEVER ordering from this place again. Stay away. I wish I had. I can’t judge the food as it never came, but the service is shocking. Imperial Chinese, be ashamed of your employee. You actually deserve a ZERO.

Simply the worst Chinese food I have tasted. We were told 1 hour for delivery. After hour and 15 called to ask where the food was and was told the driver had left. Half an hour later and still no food despite living 5 minutes away. When food finally arrived it was stone cold and inedible. The prawn crackers were like cardboard and couldn’t be eaten. The prawn toast was burnt and everything needed to be warmed up. The chips were a disgrace and no flavour to the food. The place is a disgrace ! AVOID !

Unfortunately the food from this take away over Christmas was inedible and we threw it away. Do not choose the pad Thai, we have no idea what we were served, it was disgusting.

The order arrived early. When we dished everything out the ribs were not there, the chips were horrible and the prawns in yellow bean sauce were inedible. For some reason they had deep fried the prawns and thrown them on a bed of cashew nuts without adding any yellow bean sauce. We paid £17 for a half duck which they had shredded and rammed into a plastic tub. An utter waste of money and we will never order from there again.

We ordered tonight as in the past it has been nice we’ll never again ! Didn’t seem to be any egg in the fu yung dish looked like mushed up veg 🤨 The prawn toast was so burnt and cold like it had been left for some time and re fried All the food was Luke warm and the soup was like dish water, Prawn crackers where also covered in water and soggy 🤷‍♀️ Never again !!

During lockdown we discovered this Chinese takeout. The food then was excellent. We went back for the first time in months and when we sat down to eat it was just bland and miserable. We couldn’t believe it ! Then we checked out reviews and discovered it’s changed ownership. Well, I’m afraid to say my favourite Chinese has now gone. We will not be going back. Sorry Imperial but if you want my advice I’d strongly recommend you ask the previous owners to show you how to cook.

The meal we ordered was an hour and fifteen minutes late- with no apology or communication regarding this. My meal came without its sauce ! No yellow bean sauce. The meal I ordered was chicken cashew nut in yellow bean sauce. There was no sauce just crispy battered and fried "chicken" and some cashew nuts - nothing else. It was dry and tasteless. The rice was claggy and looked recycled from the night before. The soup was like jelly with hardly any chicken and no sweetcorn . Terrible terrible service and disgusting practically inedible meal. First time here and never again !

Happily back again. Tangy hot and sour soup, exemplary chilli and pepper ribs, and a delight new to us - smoked chicken. Mains - very flavoursome lemon chicken, king prawn with ginger and spring onion delicately tasty, duck with chilli and garlic generous in all ways. I'd rather have a takeaway from the Imperial than dine at any Wirral Chinese restaurant I know.

Ordered a Chinese tonight and after an hour wait I called and got told it would be another half an hour. An hour and 20 later our food arrived so it took 2 hours 20 in total. On top of this we did not receive prawn crackers as ordered and we ordered sweet and sour sauce and received lemon. Overall the food was enjoyable, but the service was less than satisfactory.

First time ordering from here, great Banquet, beats all other local Chinese hands down.

Had a fantastic take away from here which was more like restaurant standard. Catered exceptionally well for vegetarian and gluten free requirements, even thinking to put in gluten free fried rice with our order and everything was labelled. Thank you for your wonderful food and service.

First time I've ordered from here and it was absolutely amazing! There was quite a wait which was explained to us upon ordering and it was WELL worth it! Piping hot when it arrived and delicious! We weren't sure on portion sizes and were not disappointed, only thing is we won't order as much next time as there was lots left over! Definately ordering again! YUM!

We had our first takeaway last night and it was delicious. Everything tasted freshly made and full of flavour. It was delivered promptly, adding to the experience. Will certainly be ordering again.

The team was very kind and we had made an impromtu visit during a busy family time. Delicious chips that are more like home cooked than chip shops generally produce and consistently good omlettes. A varied menu includes a delicious Duck and in Lemon/Ginger or Orange sauce meal. Prawn crackers light and crisp. Best takeaway around the area.

We’ve enjoyed meals from here on many occasions since becoming the Imperial. The food is delicious and well presented. One of the best Chinese takeaways without doubt, all served up with a smile from attentive staff. We would definitely recommend and are sure you won’t be disappointed!

Beef Szechuan and a Special Chow Mein for a Friday night take away. It was superb! Lovely service and very speedy too. Definitely recommend this place. We will be back for sure

Just enjoyed our first meal from this takeaway- it was recommended by a friend. Very clean when we entered the building and smelled of lovely food cooking. Staff were very informative when explaining the menu. We tried a few starters - not sure we could choose a favourite but we’d highly recommend the Gyoza and salt & pepper prawns.
