By far the worst Chinese I have ever had, ordered through Uber eats, please go somewhere else people, the food is horrible, beef curry, should be renamed to vile onion curry, fried rice was black due to being soaked in dark soy sauce, duck and pancake bits is the only way to describe it, pancakes were all broken so unable to make 1 single roll, salt and pepper ribs, let’s just say thank god for the onions and peppers as they were really tough, everything had a weird taste to it, bizarre. Save your money and go somewhere else. Called them to discuss my horrible food, was told to call Uber eats, “GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE”

This meal was the worst Chinese meal takeaway I’ve ever had. Completely tasteless. Foo yung was just a omelette. Salt and pepper chips had no onions or peppers in it, £3:80 and no different to a normal portion of chips. Massamn curry was tasteless and the tofu was inedible. Very disappointed

Delayed review from a meal on 10th January 2024 - Some things were great and others not so much in the salt and pepper combo box. The spring rolls, chicken wings, chicken pieces and curry sauce were good. The onion rings were pretty limp and bland. The shredded beef and the ribs were overcooked / tough. The chicken in the chicken fried rice was unseasoned and dry, clearly not cooked with the rice and added afterwards.

Guys what happened? Normally great service and delivered quick. This time, over an hour and a half until arrived. Food arrived lukewarm, but chips were like cardboard and chicken like rubber.

The worst take away I have ever ordered. The food was inedible, cold and all items were put in the bin. I called the takeaway to be told that Just Eat would refund in 1 week no customer care at all. This is the first Google review or complaint I have ever made about a takeaway however In this instance I believe it is essential to share for other families who do not want to be in our position, unable to serve dinner due to inadequate take away food.

Eaten from here multiple times and had various dishes, not had one bad meal at all.

Second time we had ordered the King Prawn with ginger , once again no ginger whatsoever in the dish, won't be going again, standards have dropped big time.

So disappointed, bamboo kitchen has really let me down. It used to be my favourite place for chow mein. Prawn crackers are like cardboard, they bend not snap. Chow mein didn’t taste of much and the chicken was so slimy I didn’t each another piece.

Took my money. Then said they couldn't deliver. Avoid at all costs

Thua green curry was just normal curry sauce with coconut in it grey in colour. Salt and pepper chips just chips with salt no onion , chillies, peppers.

Special fried rice, dry, tasteless, no prawns, spring onion, veg of any description, the rice was almost black and overcooked, very disappointing. Won't be returning.

Sorry but not good. An amateur effort. Special fried rice was a load of dark coated rice with what looked like a dry omelette of mixed very tough meat sitting on top of it! ( and not a single prawn in sight by the way!) Veggie option was cardboard in dark coated rice. Why don’t the owners eat it themselves and compare it to somewhere that does a good job of serving Chinese / Far Eastern food? Nothing authentic about this at all. Seems like some brits with money to spare knocking up a load of old tosh? Hand over the reigns to a genuine and good Far Eastern cook, but we won’t be trying it again until they do.

The food can be fantastic sometimes and ok on other occasions, I presume they have more than one main cook. Would still recommend

I ordered the selection box for one with roast duck as the main. The selections were tired , old and slightly warm and tasted mainly of cardboard.. the duck was literally just pieces of skin with no meat and most of the meal was stuck to the lid.. I was really hungry and looking forward to my food and felt really let down and actually sick because I ate some of it and it was very poor. Strange because the last time I had a meal from them which might be over a year ago it was really nice. If I could have been bothered I would have telephone them and tell them how disgusting the food was but I couldn't be bothered I just won't order from them again.

Worst takeaway near me. I have given these three chances to provide me with a good meal ? However it has gotten worse each time. Won't be going back !

3rd time I have had to wait for my order to arrive after I rang up... Food good delivery service terrible when lady driver on night off... Won't be using again... Not even a apology... They can't even bother to reply to reviews.... If you want a 1hoyr 10 min wait for your food this is the place for you...

This is easily my favourite Chinese food takeaway in the area! I love their yellow bean tofu in particular! Friendly staff, great service, a really good menu, and just simply very tasty food at a good price! I'm always looking forward to going back!

Please do not eat from here. The hygiene standards are horrendous. From the dirty floor to the dirty hands and nails of the kids that work behind counter.. no face masks worn by anyone and no hand sanitiser to be seen anywhere in the shop. Please go to MAYFLOWER CHINESE IN OXTON VILLAGE

Picked up the food I ordered online. Well what I thought was what I ordered. When I got home, unraveled the paper n plastic lid to see a dark sticky sauce on what was supposed to be a chicken satay....annoyed so called them and all I got was 'o sorry about that..do you want us to bring you a chicken satay....no, I wanted what I ordered wen I came to collect tar 😡

I bought a chicken fried rice from this place, it was discusting just doused in soy sause , never order a meal here.

To the guy Daniel Eaves who left the bad review has never eaten in this establishment. He is writing this review as he/It smashed up the delivery drivers car in a fit of rage over nothing. What type of man would do this to a woman. I witnessed this from the shop as he was on a moped thing. This review should be taken down as it’s a legal issue. The food here is delicious and 90% of the street order from them as I am one of them. He lives in Liverpool and called his daddy who lives in the street after the incident. He needs to get a life....

Food is always great, our favourite Chinese to order from in the area.

I LOVE this place. Order twice a week and food is always exceptional. The staff go above and beyond and always throw extra cans and Prawn crackers in as a thank you because we always spend over £50. Love Nicky who usually delivers singing and always happy. I heard that the person who left the bad review saying she was a dangerous driver smashed her car up as she tried to let him past on his moped. I am 74 and can’t understand why a so called man could do that to a poor defenceless woman? SCUM....

I love Chinese food and have tried a lot of restaurants and takeaways in the area. Bamboo Kitchen blows any other takeaway out of the water, the food is definitely more restaurant quality. It's the only Chinese takeaway I will order from now. Never had a bad meal or bad service, food has always arrived quicker than estimated, always fresh and hot. I ordered a selection of appetizers for a small family get together and everyone still saying how yummy they were and asking me to do it again.

Brilliant food. Made me up 2 meals not on the menu with what I asked for. Couldn't fault it. Great stuff.

we had the set meal for 2 with half a crispy duck and what can I say, lovely food that is well prepared and very big portions, not many places you can buy a six course meal for £35.00 and thats for 2 people :) if I could give 10 out of 10 I would.

Cannot understand why anyone eats here the food is absolutely disgusting!! I spent time working in the mime & pottery in bootle a number of years ago so I do know what good Chinese food is and this is the worst I have ever had!! Add to that their delivery driver is dangerous on the road, a good friend lives on the same road and has not only witnessed some very near misses but has had numerous run ins with him/her. For the safety of local residents and your own digestive system please DO NOT USE THIS MOULDY EXCUSE FOR A TAKE AWAY!!!

I tried Bamboo kitchen after hearing some good things and as I was close by and it was on my way home, I poped in and ordered chicken in black bean sauce with half and half. They were battered with delivery orders, but my meal took no time to come. It was fantastic, juicy pieces of chicken in a rich sauce with a a variety of vegetables. It was a huge portion half of wish went into the fridge for dinner the next night. Will defiantly be going again when next close by.

My last order from Bamboo kitchen was delicious but tonight we ordered Kung po and it was tasteless..

3 hr wait for food. Lukewarm when finally arrived. Ordered fried rice to go with one of our meals which didn't arrive. One meal inedible so went in the bin and the other meal wasn't what we ordered, so all in all I had a very expensive rubbish chip butty as my meal. Would NOT use again.

Ordered from bamboo kitchen yesterday around 6 o’clock online. It accepted £26.50 and was ‘cooking’ I knew there was a wait which I didn’t mind being so busy during a time like this. But come 9 o’clock I tried to ring to see where my order was and couldn’t get through. Didn’t want to order elsewhere in case it then showed up 🤦🏽‍♀️ At 10 o’clock I totally gave up and realised it was definitely not going to show up 🤷🏽‍♀️ They had my number a text or call to say they couldn’t deliver would of been nice 🙄 Today I rang and explained what had happened. Instead of the hassle of trying to get a refund I just asked if they could deliver the same order without having to pay seems as though I had paid the day before and she said it was fine,she will put it down as paid....no apology btw 🙄 My order came within half an hour and the delivery guy said ‘she’s told me you have had a refund’ which I have not had an email. Phone call. Text. To say other 🤷🏽‍♀️ still no refund either btw. Apparently I have to wait 3 days 🙄 Told him I had no cash on me as I assumed it had been paid for, for the lovely girl to say ‘well she doesn’t fu@#ing get her food then!!!!’ The man couldn’t be more apologetic and also said he didn’t understand why I didn’t get my order as he had delivered over the road from me after 7 🤦🏽‍♀️ After him explaining I had no cash (which I didn’t mind paying on card if needed) I then heard ‘oh just fu@#ing give her it!’ 😳 Never known anything like it! I have family and friends who order from here and definitely will never be ordering again if that’s how they treat customers! Think bamboo kitchen really need to look at who they are hiring before they lose any more customers because of their lovely staff 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

Like the poster below, I ordered at 6.10pm tonight with the restaurant saying it would be 90 minutes delivery. Payment taken. It is now midnight and food has never arrived. Rang restaurant constantly but they had clearly taken the phone off the hook. Do yourself a favour and don’t throw away your money.

Placed order at 6pm and still waiting for delivery at 9pm. Supposed to be here at 7.30, but not "out for delivery" until 8.10pm. Take you money, but don't deliver, or answer the phone. When you're a key worker looking forward to a takeaway at the end of a tough week, and get totally shafted. Avoid!!!

I am sick of listening to all you people whining. I have been ordering from here since opening. The food is like no other on the Wirral. They have remained open to serve us, risking their health. They have been inundated with orders and I know they have been late but they are struggling with all the orders. I spoke to one of my regular delivery drivers Nikki and she is always so very sweet. She informed me that they had to stop taking orders as it was too much! So people remember these people are working 6 nights a week driving all over the Wirral to serve us. If you don’t want to wait then don’t friggin order. God bless Bamboo Kitchen.

Worst special fried rice I have ever had . Very bland and hardly any substance in it. Then the hot and sour soup had no kick to it . Coming from a Chinese background and having a homemade banquet every Saturday I think I know good Chinese food. In my opinion this was as bad as it can get. A waste of 18 quid as it practically all went in the bin. Then I made myself some cheese & onion on toast as it had more flavour and substance in it P. S if they had half a star they would have gotten that

Toyed with posting this but I’m going to RE: Bamboo. We are in stressful and hard times but you’d think a Take away would try to capitalise... Two hours late delivering our food (after pre-ordering around 15:00 this afternoon). Food arrived cold and was missing parts of the order. When my wife rang up to ask for them to deliver the bits they missed, the women on the phone said she would get them to come back and deliver the rest (spoiler: they didn’t). Worth noting we also chased twice and live literally 5 mins away. When she rang again and asked for a refund for the parts missing, the women on the phone asked her boss (I presume) and you could hear on the speaker a women behind asking “why does she want a refund?! Just hang up”. The food, what we got anyway, was actually pretty good. But we won’t be going back. I was tempted to give two stars just because the salt and pepper ribs were actually pretty good, but I can’t. Won’t be using bamboo again. AVOID.

Ordered food at 5.25, phoned after 1 hour 30 minutes to be told it was out for delivery. 1 hour 25 minutes after that it was delivered Luke warm (nearly 3 hours later!) When I phoned to complain about the 3 hour wait I was told no refund as the food had not been returned. No apology for the 3 hour wait, no apology for being lied to absolutely nothing. Terrible service.

I was so pleased when this reopened for deliveries during these uncertain times. My favourite item, mini combo meal wasn’t on the menu. They must have taken it off due to lack of stock so I was slightly disappointed.This is my favourite Chinese take away on the Wirral. I have a meal from here once every other week and I’ve never had a bad meal.I ordered a mini salt and pepper box for £7.80 and special chow mein for £6.20 this time. Make your order online, £2 delivery charge and 40p handling charge. Both items I ordered were tasty, hot and such large portions. I’ll probably have the rest the next day. Very good value, definitely recommend this takeaway. Food came early as I ordered it around 5pm arrived 530pm. It’s clean with open kitchen. Give this place a try. I have missed them.

Really disappointed, so looking forward to this takeaway special fried rice/chips/ salt pepper chicken and curry when delivered all stone cold and overcooked chips and chicken all went in the bin, I did phone to complain and the girl was lovely and offered to re deliver or collect food and arrange refund that will take Three days back on the card!! understandably very busy at this time but still I would rather be told no deliveries to busy than receive horrible food.

The food is amazing and staff are really friendly

Just ordered crispy chicken, rice, salt and pepper chips and prawn crackers. foods just arrived after only 38 minutes (the kitchen hen is only a 5 min drive away) but it's all stone cold. The meal and rice is room temperature as are the now cold and soggy chips. Normally we collect our meals ourselves from bamboo kitchen and they have been very good but today we have had to chuck it all away. What a waste of £12 and £2 tip for the driver. I shall be going back but only to let them know what a let down they were.

To nite I have had to wait early 2hrs for my food to be delivered which I think is absolutely ridiculous I normally can't fault them the food is normally superb but to have a phone call to say its on its way and I'm still waiting.

What has happened to Bamboo??? I mean I understand there a bit temperamental with the days they decide to open, but they've gone from the most amazing Chinese on the planet 🌏 to a bit naff. Beef was chewy and fatty, egg fried rice had hardly any egg and was dry. Plus the staff looked around 15 years old. Big let down 👇

I have ordered from Bamboo Kitchen before and have found the food to be of a good standard. However We ordered a family meal tonight, special fried rice, beef fried rice and a vegetarian chow mein and it really was lovely and could not fault it. The food was delivered faster than expected and I really love the new boxes they were packaged in and the food helping was very generous. Not sure if there has been a change in ownership or that more effort has been out in but It was delicious. Especially the vegetarian chow mein which at a lot of take seats can be very bland but there was plenty of veg variety and the fried rice and the special fried rice went down a treat. Really nice will definitely order again

Excellent Chinese food in the area. I love the sweet and sour chicken. The batter is very thin and crispy. It is the best sweet and sour dish I have ever had in takeaways. Roast duck is very nice too.

What is the Wirral Council hygiene rating for this premises? It's been open for at least 18 months and still no rating on scores on the doors.

Perfectly ok Chinese take away, usual vast menu but a lot of salt and pepper dishes. Does deliver and easy to order on line but probably better to pick up. One of the better take away options in this area

I am from the area but don't live here any more. I've lived in Asia for three years and also the middle east for a time. I happened to be visiting family and on sight of a prepared meal congealing in the fridge thought I'd try a take away for the first time (in Birkenhead) for about fifteen years.

Wow! I couldn't believe my mouth. I have never been here before but will be coming here for my Chinese food from now on. They really care about how the food looks never mind how lovely it tastes. I think this is the best Chinese take away on the wirral!! Keep up the good work Bamboo Kitchen

Food was lovely such a shame it was Luke warm when it arrived. It would of been quicker and hotter collecting in person. I'm less than 5 mins away . Not happy

I didnt have high hopes for this chinese after looking at TripAdvisor score but i live local and though id make my own judgement glad i did very good food love esp the salt pepper squid.

Tasty food and reasonable price. Only criticism is that the meat comes separate from the sauce, in the case of sweet and sour chicken and crispy chilli beef at least. I found this makes the meat dry as it doesn't soak up the sauce.

We ordered from here a lot, until this evening. So dissapointed in their service. I usually order extra veg with sweet and sour as they usually only put one string of onion, one carrot and a bit of pineapple if you’re lucky with a litre of sauce! It came with less than that so I called up to ask for another sauce or even some veg, an hour later it hadn’t come. Won’t be spending any more money on them.

What else can I say?! The best salt and pepper chicken wings ever and the king prawns are the biggest and tastiest by far. Lovely food very well prepared and presented. The foil containers keep the crispness perfectly. Haven't tried everything on their menu yet but do plan to do so.

Waited ages for meals. Ordered special fried rice, beef mushroom, chips and spring rolls. Special fried rice was strange colour of yellow with a few bits of meat in, found one tiny prawn. Strange omelette on top with 2 tiny bits meat. Rice was odd texture. Beef mushroom looked nice but no flavour. Spring rolls horrible, sloppy mess in middle. And the chips where frozen thin chips. Cost near £15, wouldn't go again. Also no hygiene rating. Female staff had no hats on.

We have had this twice now! Very fresh spring rolls, definitely my favourite! Perfect little starter of 1 rib, 1 chicken wing, 1 prawn toast, 1 spring roll and a portion of seaweed. Then the main course in one container brilliant portion size! Will be back.
