Sun Wah in Wirral

we ordered from here last night 3/8/24 the one in prenton as we normally go to the orchid they take ages and we always have to put food in micro as it not hot but for some reason it is closed so we decided to try sun wah prenton i was a bit dubious because it had bad reviews but thought we would give it a try we ordered salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper chips fried rice and curry they said 40 min delivery it came earl and the food was excellent and hot would go again

Ordered food from sun wah chippy today to be delivered when it arrived I dished it all up x found that the noodles were so burnt the whole meal had to go in bin phoned up to complain and was offered another portion of noodles explained it had all been put on plates but was told I should have known it was burnt and its very hard for chef to cook noodles never heard anything like it such a waste of money certainly won't be going there again

Ordered a delivery last night from this take away chippy in prenton. And wow its got to be the worst chinese food ive ever had and totally overpriced. The little meat on the ribs was rock hard over cooked and fatty as hell and priced at £8.50. We got a special fried rice which came in a small box with very little meat in it 2 prawns and no slices of meat on top or omelette like all other places do it was tasteless at a price of £9.50. We got my son a sausage dinner with gravy what a joke came in a tiny box with 3 dry over cooked sausages and a spoonfull of gravy and handfull of chips dry as hell and certainly not worth £5.80. Got a chicken breast for my other son who said he couldnt eat it as was over cooked and meat to dry. Priced at £5 and a portion of sweet and sour sauce small pot for £3.80 portion of chips £4. All went in the bin disgusting food and prices are a total ripoff first and last time will use this chippy needs shutting down or reporting as well overpriced crap basically ripping people off avoid save your money or go somewhere else. 🤢🤮

Always a good food until last night, gloppy chicken & sweetcorn soup. Lemon chicken batter beyond soggy couldn’t eat it was a mess. Noodles tasted burnt waste of money as had to go in the bin

Have had a takeaway from here a few times in the past but not in a few years. Arrived after 1hr 40mins. Rice tasted like an ash tray and to add insult to injury my other half and I got food poisening! I wasnt as ill as I only had a few mouthfuls. Cant stress enough AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very disappointed! Always had great food from here...been behaving with food for a while so decided to treat ourselves to a takeaway ....really wish we hadn't bothered...we chose a selection of starters between 3 adults and a portion of chips. All of the starters were completely over cooked and oily to the point that they all tasted the exactly the same....and when we got home no chips! Which probably wasn't a bad thing as doubt would have been nice....also VERY overpriced...won't be back!

Pre ordered a meal for delivery at 8pm. It arrived at 7.20pm stone cold. Special fried rice just had a few pieces of meat on the top. Chips were dried out and brown. Would not use again.

Decided to treat myself to fish and chips and thought I would try Sun Wah in Prenton. Never again. The fish was full of bones after two bites and the Chips were a horrible brown colour and tasted of oil. They had obviously been left over from earlier in the day and re-cooked to heat them up. I also ordered a chicken portion to make up the minimum order and it was as dry as a bone. Will never use this takeaway again.

Ordered a special fried rice, food was ok but for a special fried rice is certainly wasn’t special. No egg on it a piece or chicken on the top the size of a 50p and two pieces of pork each the same size as a 50p .. for the price and what you get there is certainly better ones around

I thought I would try somewhere new, I wish I hadn’t! The worst takeaway meal I have ever had.Duck - soggyChips - greasySalt and pepper chicken - blandBlack bean sauce - gloopyI literally had one mouthful of each dish before putting it all straight in the bin.

Didn't want to use this place again but thought I'd give it one more try. Ordered special fried rice £6.30. Got dish of brown rice, not a prawn in sight and four pieces of dried meat on top! Thrown at me as usual as next customer waiting. Will never go again. Can have decent meal in pub with waiter service for what this cost.!

The owners of this chip shop are about as criminal as it gets. They always charge more than they are supposed to and when you call them on it the play dumb as if it was a mistake you don’t get prices wrong like that on every visit unless it’s on purpose. When I say prices wrong I mean adding from between £0.50 to £2 depending what they think they can get away with at the time. Not only this my niece being despite for work asked for a job, they brought her on and told her as she needs tracing she is required to work for FREE for the first week and when the week was up they told her she still needs more training so made her work another week for FREE. After that they told her they had no work for her and let her go. Then the brought on another young girl around age 16 and after 2 weeks she was never seen again. I can only guess they did the same thing to that poor girl.

My food turner up nealry 3 hours late, was cold and soggy with someones hairs in it!!! I thought I was paying over the odds for a nice tea, not bloody hairs in my food!!! Ripped off. Never ever again

Used to like this place and have been a few times lately even tho it was bad each time, giving it @another chance because of how nice it was before it shut and reopened. Was a very good chippy. Not sure what has changed but its always over 2 hours late, cold and once reheated has made me and my family extremely ill with heavy diarhea. Owner shouts at customers for calling and asking where the food is. Owner never takes an responsibility and always blames the drivers and young girls. Everytime ive been into the chippy, the young girls only work the chips only so im not sure why she is blaming them. Always has 2 drivers so I doubt its the drivers making deliveries late. Spoke to one driver (Rotating door of drivers apparently) who explained Sue (owner) is money orientated and has started accepting deliveries as far away as 2 mills(8miles away)! This is probably the cause for the foor being cold and late. Avoid at all costs. Go the Man Wah or Sun Wah Prenton if you want hot fresh food that turns up on time, hell, grow ya own spuds, will still get there quicker.

It says it is closed but it is very much open! After rave reviews on Facebook I thought I’d try it out. Their app is easy to use and I collected my order. It was ready when I arrived and still really hot. I had a munchie box which was amazing and also crispy fried chicken with noodles. Excellent food.

Tranmere has always had several takeaways bit what a disappointment when Sunwah closed. But they are back open and still to the same amazing standard. I opted for the salt and pepper Munchie box a selection of salt and pepper chips, chichen, chichen wings, ribs and a can of pop all for the princley sum of £8.50 but it was enough for 2.

I have been coming for years and have never had a bad meal whether it be fish and chips or a Chinese dish. Can be busy due to popularity so I advise making a phone order and collect.

We are happy customers! We had the mixed grill and fish dinner! Really really well cooked. When we want a chippy tea, we come here. The staff are friendly and chatty and the food is delicious. We've had English and Chinese food. Highly recommended

Sun Wah is one of our local chippys & i have to say its our first choice .. Friendly,fast ,family run service ,foods always great (never greasy) . The portions are great & the prices are reasonable.

We've been coming to Sun Wah since it first opened many years ago and I am surprised at some of the reviews on here. We have never had a bad meal from here, ever. The chips are the best on the Wirral, not rolling in fat. Every Chinese meal is cooked to perfection, the portions are big and the service is great. I do know they had issues with the delivery service which is why they came off but in terms of quality and value for money, Sun Wah is nigh impossible to beat.

Having heard that this place was voted best chippy in the North West we eagerly decided to give it go and expected something special, we have been twice and the first time the food was bland and luke warm, but we decided that as this is supposed to be an award winning chippy we must have caught them on a bad night, the second time was last night and we both had the sweet and sour chicken, I can say without any exaggeration that the chicken was the toughest and most peculiar tasting that we have ever had. Needless to say we have learned our lesson and won't be returning. There are plenty of far superior chippies in Birkenhead. Give it a miss.

¡Terrible! Pedimos comida era llegar a 35 / 40 minutos de espera, bastante si este lugar está ocupado. Luego de una hora por delante y que llamó dijo que estaría allí en 20 minutos por fin llegó la comida, que estaba a 2 horas más tarde! Fuimos a conseguir un redund para nuestra comida, ya que viene en 2 horas de espera es ridículo no disculpa! Y no reembolso! Servicios escandalosos evita este lugar gente! Si su feliz que te roben, fuera de su dinero y dispuestos a esperar 2 horas, este es el lugar!

Había bastante larga espera para la comida, parece que estaban cortos de personal,el pescado estaba muy viscoso (no discutir un cod sabor raro pescado) puré de papas a pescado. Muy decepcionante, ya que este fue votado en nuestro periódico local como el mejor!Mi compañero tenía pato currys. Este era agradable. Pero no volvería.

Cuando vivimos cerca de este pescado y chippy visitamos regularmente. Pescado y patatas fritas. Pescado siempre fresco y un montón de patatas fritas. Nos perdimos cuando nos cambiamos de zona. Nunca encontré otro juego a tan volver cuando podemos y tan bonita. El personal es encantador, especialmente Sue. Te echamos de menos.

Just ordered from here for the first time and safe to say I won't be ordering again. Half of my order didn't turn up and took them 30 minutes to resend it

We regularly visit this chip shop and they never fail to get it right ... staff are pleasent, food is amazing and delivery is FAST !!
