What can I say this is the first time in my life appaled by a subway. I think the name was Stephens the server came across rude, lazy and dumb. The taste of my sub was also disgusting, bread was rock solid. The salad was gritty probably didn't get washed. Avoid this Subway at all cost.....

Appalling food and service yet again . All four meals completely wrong with items missing . Terrible

I visited here with my daughter and hoped it had improved from the last time we visited… unfortunately it hadn’t. Stood waiting for a while to be served only to hear from one of the employees he really didn’t like working there. We were given our subs… well it was chucked in a bag and opted to sit in. 5 tables to choose from and all were dirty…when I asked for a cloth I was asked “why ?” “Um………because the table is filthy) Tables cleaned… and the sun was eaten.. unfortunately mine was hard rock on the crust and it had to be thrown. I don’t think I’m going to give it a third chance!!!

Dreadful. It was 6.30pm, the one member of staff had switched off the open sign and put all the food in the fridge and was cleaning up. I wanted a sub and had to tell him the ingredients from memory as they were not on display. The toaster was not the standard one as that had broken. The toasting was overdone and spoiled the sub. He did not pack it correctly either. The running of this outlet is always sloppy in the extreme. I have also been to the outlet at Bromborough. Staff there are also very poor. I understand all the Wirral Subways are run by the same company. They need a reality check. Poor customer experience and staff that take advantage and lose them profits

Spent £20 order marked complete but never came waited 3hrs something serious wrong with this place.

Came in a few weeks ago and the young lad was amazing, friendly, brilliant customer service, could sell ice to an eskimo but said it was his last day unfortunately. Came back to Heswall Subway, especially to take my daughter to takeaway the food for her 11th birthday. I checked times on the door last time said it closes at 6pm on a Wednesday, we got there just after 5:30pm and they had closed. Very disappointed :(

Shocking. The lady preparing the sub was coughing constantly over the food. No mask and no attempt to cover he mouth whilst serving, and even though the owner could see the lady coughing, he didn’t intervene. I asked for gurkins but the lady put hot helipino pickles on without me realising. 2 counts of dangerous. I will not use this establishment again.

Absolutely never again. The service was appalling with the rude woman serving me licking her fingers and using her bare hands. She kept having to read instructions on making a meatball sandwich with onions and cheese. Firstly, she burned it and one of her colligues had to take it out for her when she was doing absolutely nothing. Secondly, I was with a friend who has been vegetarian for 4 years and had meatballs in his vegetarian pizza which was used with the meatball sauce and had chunks of meat in it. I have never been so let down and disappointed at one of my favourite fast food chains. Never go to heswall subway please stick to dominos.

Am a vegan of 4 years now, I ordered a pizza specifically vegan. Which I later found out had chunks of meat. utterly diabolical never again.😡😡😡😡😤🤢🤮

If I could put 0 I would. Ordered 11.45 arrive at 2.15 . Order was wrong no cheese on both subs not toasted. Delivery guy put the food on the floor and left in a hurry. Order was through just eat. Won't be getting a delivery again. 👎

The food and service has got to be the best around if you visit heswall I highly advise you to get a subway

Won't be getting subway again anytime soon. Delivery fee was ridiculous, took over 1.5 hours to deliver, food was stone cold. Waste of money and time. Stay away.

Don’t even know how to make a hot chocolate🤦🏽‍♀️! Staff member asked the other “how do you make a hot chocolate” so clearly not trained to make food/drink before they start working. The drink given to us was just a cup of bubbly milk and powder lump at bottom. Requested gluten free sandwich and staff member didn’t know what did/ didn’t contain gluten so was asking customer! Dangerous for people with allergies/ intolerances. Don’t usually leave reviews but this needs to be addressed.

I have been waiting for nearly 3 hours for my food and it’s still not here!! This is shocking service! Would not order again from this subway, I’ll have to order my food for next year hoping that it will arrive on time.

Terrible experience, ordered food at 11:45, waited until 15:00 and ended up having to drive there myself to collect. Phone wasn't answered despite repeated calls and during the time I was there waiting the phone was constantly ringing and being ignored. Seating was empty bar one person. When we did get food, wedges were soggy from sitting in the bag for a while and food was warm at best. No refund given, not even for delivery expense after collecting it myself. Will not be getting any business from myself in the future.

Ordered at 11:31am, was told delivery expected at 12:55, order arrived at 14:05. Didn’t answer the phone. Had to chase via the just eat app. When it finally arrived the driver practically threw the order at my door. The food was stone cold, we had missing items and you could just tell there was general lack of care put into the order. Not what you would expect from a chain like subway. I should’ve read the just eat reviews before ordering!

Honestly it depends on water you order here, a few of the options are a bit dodgy but the rest are completely fine.

Only 3rd time I've been to a Subway Young lady serving me went out of her way to help. Here customer care and selling skills were excellent. Take my grandchildren there for lunch when I visit

Food is lovely, but tables wasn't cleaned just loads of mess left from previous customers, so we had to their job for them and clean :l

3 hours for a delivery, sorry fellas usually sound with everything but for 2 sandwiches bit absurd

Had a problem with my order. The sandwiches weren't toasted as requested, and just tasted horrible. I expect a steak and melted cheese sub to be warm 🙄 Manager couldn't be bothered speaking to me, staff don't know what customer service is. Wasted food, waste of money, avoid!!

Staff seemed more interested in online orders than serving those in store. On the flip side if I order from home then delivery is quick. Food good as always. Scrap that read on.... Ordered for home delivery today....... Still waiting over 2 hours later..... Apparently only 1 driver working!?! Use local independent sandwich shops if you want better service

I like to give establishments the benefit of the doubt when it comes to bad service. Things happen, we all know this but in this instance, the service itself and moreso the establishment's reaction to the poor service is unacceptable. I ordered a tuna sandwich and my food was delivered 2 hours after the order was confirmed. This subway is about a 10-15 minute drive away and the order was 2 hours late. When requesting a refund (before the order arrived) they said they will not post me a refund. That's absolutely tacky. The excuse was traffic, and even if that were the case (highly doubt it, you're not late by 2 hours when you live 10-15 minutes away. Complete bs), that in no way is the customer's issue. At the very least a partial refund or something to appease your customers. Hopefully people take this into consideration before buying from this Subway. The service here is at the very least, shady.

I wouldn't even give it one star really but to leave the review I had to we waited nearly 2 hours for the delivery and once the order arrived it was cold and not what we ordered we will never use again x

Only allowing 4 people in the shop at a time however there is NO orderly queue for social distancing. I am a key worker & was going to get my lunch I didn’t have much time & I was spoken to DISGUSTINGLY by 2 WOMEN in the queue who felt the need to tell me to wait outside & get to the back of the queue. Regardless of the fact there was no space for me to wait outside! I came away crying & very upset by these two women and was un able to carry on with my job that day.

Foods good as always but it took 15 min to get my food

Visit few times a month for a takeaway salad...food is very good for value....just wish staff could be more pleasant they always feel to look sad and have can’t be bothered attitude

We went into Subway on Sunday and was served by a young girl.. asked for a salad.. was given sub par food and hardly any of it.. only half full bowls.. and the salad was limp and past it's best.The staff need lessons on manners and food needs to be prepped fresh

Never a great experience calling in for lunch on a Saturday as busy & full of noisy children , can’t be helped‍♀️ & it’s understandable .But today’s visit drove me to finally log a review.Stood in a queue of 5 waiting to be served, one very pleasant member of staff was serving fillings , salad & taking cash whilst 3 other ‘Team Members’ stood and chatted just out back but close enough to see.When it was my turn to be served i requested a PLAIN boxed salad , no topping or cheese .A girl came out to serve me and proceeded to put 2 transparently thin slices of tomato onto a bed of lettuce , i asked for a little more and 1 or 2 more were put on ....My salad comprised of tomato, cucumber , pepper, onion , sweetcorn and finally a new addition, beetroot.Everything was served frugally and when it came to the beetroot i was ‘allowed’ a teaspoon carrying 3 x 1cm cubes .... again i asked for a little more and i was told in duo that it would be 50p extra - i’d given up in asking for extra of anything else but that was ridiculous!At checkout i was charged for a veggie delight but had no cheese, so surely why was i not allowed a few more cubes of beetroot..... ??throughout i was spoken to in a very unprofessional manner and the icing on the cake was i was sat in eating my ‘Lettuce’ (£5 worth) and after a busy spell of about 20 11year olds coming in for takeaway and all had gone quiet all staff proceeded to complain about other customers that had been in .... all whilst i was sat there and able to hear.... my beetroot was also mentioned!! Urgent training in customer service and a bit of leeway in portion distribution required !!!! - wasn’t asking for more of anything costing above the value i was charged.Just awful!

Perfect, I explained to the lad serving what my favourite was the Italian bmt and but had changed now to a chicken pizziola said I fancied a change he advised on a meat one and cant remember name but it had the sauce I liked plus meatballs and other meat.. fair to say he knew what he was talking about was delicious and served in speedy time =) Also girlfriend enjoyed hers to but she knew what she wanted =) definitely the most organised subway on the wirral. Always clean to!

Bit of a hangover so thought I'd grab some easy food. Went to Subway Heswall and stood waiting to even be acknowledged (there wasn't a queue) the girl behind the counter proceeded to top up all the trays and check they were all full. I waited. She works slowly. I waited. She obviously can't multi task, maybe a smile and a 'be with you in a minute's nod???? Nope. I waited. I walked out. I'll take my hangover somewhere where it's appreciated!!

Customer experience was shocking

This place is a useless shithole, they never have the ingredients you want, equally their staff don't know how to cut a sub in half and always burn the subs when you ask for a light toasted one! Today i asked for chicken and they replied with the comments of "Sorry we haven't thawed it out yet!" Amateurs! STAY AWAY!

Nice meatballs but rather pricey for 4

Went in to grab a nice sandwich for a treat for my poorly sister. The portions were tiny, the food was plastic and the taste was awful. We both put our food in the bin and £11 for 2 sandwiches was a rip off! Never ever going back!

Love the food always have but while sat in there staff were just slagging staff and customers off and I think one of them was the manger.

The person who served me, was friendly, & efficient & dealt with my order quickly. I always like a subway. Would recommend.

This is the stingiest Subway I've ever been to. I think they've been told to limit the amount of veg on sandwiches. Ive been a few times and it's always the same. They don't give out serviettes either, unless you ask, probably because there's nothing on your sandwich to spill. Not good. I won't be going back.

Its a Subway outlet like any other so will rate the food and the location.Food-wise, its a Subway but for the price you pay, you get a Decent Sub Roll filled with whatever you want freshly prepared and toasted. Value is excellent and the service in Heswall is fine - never had an issue.Location - its a bit small, difficult sometimes to find a seat if its busy but fine for takeaway. The only issue I do have is that on some visits its a bit untidy. maybe short staffed but the front of house (tables etc) needs more attention to tidy up after other customers.

Neat and clean. Quick service. Pleasant staff. Heswall store makes the best subs in Wirral IMHO

Been a few times and never been disappointed. Food very fresh, don't have to wait too long and there is a comfortable seating area. You can have a reasonably priced meal here.

Food was lovely but sadly the cleanliness of the store is terrible , word of warning to anyone avoid the toilets !

Cane here for lunch whilst at work. What more can be said other than it's subway? If you're after taste, quality and fresh go somewhere else

An average Subway store, it sells all the usual submarine rolls and salads. There is a seating area for eating inside but can often be busy.

What I expect from fast food. Quick and always the same top quality. The staff are always friendly but confident and able to diffuse situations involving gangs of kids and other volatile situations.

Quick service and standard subway fresh selection. My only gripe would be no chocolate on top of cappuccino.

Staff miserable and impatient, but that's what you get when you employ stroppy 16 year olds who don't give one....god knows how the food / toppings are prepared; Staff miserable, food horrid...I hated it but my lad who's only 13 and inexperienced with food thought it was ok...never ever again. McDonalds next if I need a quick bite to fill an empty belly

My first visit to Subway Heswall was a rubbish one! As I entered there was no welcome just a miserable girl who walked into the kitchen and said to her colleague, "Do you wanna take orders now". Another miserable woman came out, no smile just asked, "Yes"! I asked for 3 - 6" Tuna salad's please. ( Lunch to take home for hubby and daughter).

Poor service and poor quality, there are so many better places to get a sandwich in Heswall Even by subways usual sub standard quality, this was low

We took our 4 year old great granddaughter here for lunch or I should say she took us, she likes Subways and tells us what she is aloud to have.

Called three times now after 5pm for my usual sandwich. Three times its not available. Got the subcard but no use if they haven't got my favorite sandwich. Other times its ok. Why they don't just call it quits and close at 5.30 I have no idea. Domino's for tea in future.

Dirty place and full of kids not from Heswall, get rid of subway.....brings heswall down...all the kids it is attracting and they are rude, big gangs and is rough, the place is filthy from them, and it's just trimly...

I love subway because of the sandwiches and nachos, it is very cheap and when ever I go the place is clean and tidy and the food tastes great and also the staff are really friendly I love going to get points on my subway card that can also get me free food I would deffinatley recommend getting one and going to subway...

I stopped off in the Heswall branch of Subway for breakfast whilst travelling up the Wirral for work. I had a sausage sub with cheese and brown sauce with a coffee which cost £2 on the breakfast special offer (which didn't appear to be advertised in the branch but maybe I just missed the poster?). The sub didn't quite taste as good as others I've had from different branches of Subway in the past and the coffee didn't seem quite as strong as normal. It might just have be me though as I assume all Subways are supplied from the same depot and equipped with the same equipment so there probably shouldn't be much variation. Having said that it was still edible and excellent value for money so I wouldn't hesitate to return if I ever find myself in Heswall at half in the morning again.

Only ever walked into this place one time. Walked all the way from Pensby just to try their sandwiches. Had a foot-long meatball sub. It was the best -BLAM!-ing sandwich I'd ever eated, and it still is. I really should come here more often.
