I ordered a chicken chowmain .when it arrived itsbso dry not one drop of flavour in it.i was gutted as dontnnormaly splurge on takeaways just to get it delivered and having to leave mainly all of it gutted I'm going to try to call them tomorrow and discuss my meal amd see if we can discuss this as I reqly wanted to enjoy this

It was the first time my brothers and I went there and it was great.

We had a takeaway from here whilst staying in Devon for the week. Very tasty food and we ordered quite a few different dishes so plenty left over which was just as tasty warmed up for the next evenings dinner. Very good.

Absolutely the best Chinese I've ever ordered from. Have been using Sun Wah for the last 15+ years and having their food again this week when I visited home was a delightful break from the relatively terrible local restaurants we have. Their Sweet & Sour sauce is the best of any UK Chinese I have tried and they still sell Pork Balls (which are superior to Chicken Balls, fight me) where others have stopped.

Thats a "deal" picture. Salt and pepper chicken with salt and pepper chips. Whats in the box?? Chips with few pieces of onion and green paprika. JUST!!! 7£. thats a fckn joke.

0 Waited an hour for just chips, It’s not fast food it’s nothing don’t go there stay away just leave it and close the shop ??

Asked prior to ordering the wait time for a bag of chips. Sunday night means no chip shop open and as the son wanted some nice chunky chips from a takeaway as a birthday treat. I had to oblige! I was told 10 minutes. Was like great. Il hang around. 10 minutes went by, and another 10, and another.... (its now half hour later) asked how long the wait is...they said 5 minutes, won't be long.. 10 minutes pass. I asked again, won't be long... A total of 75 minutes passed before I got the chips. That's all I wanted. I could have gone to tesco, brought a fryer and oil, turned it on, turned it off again, gone for a shower, shave my legs, permed my hair, come back to the fryer, turned on, then put some chips in and been home quicker. The things you do for your child... Shame he was asleep by the time I got home... Would have muchly preferred to be told its an hour wait and had the option to go elsewhere... I mean there's an Indian around the corner (sagor) that would have been swift... Hindsight is a fine thing, never again. Not even to try the Chinese food.

This is my local Chinese, have been coming here for 4 years, tried the others and they aren't a patch on Sun Wah. Great service, good portion sizes and value for money.

From start to finish a bit of a disaster. Food collected on time. When serving up we realised some of the order was missing. Rang in, had to go and collect. Beef in Black bean sauce, when served was in fact Duck, Fried Rice had had Curry Sauce added when Curry Sauce was additional order, not to be put on Rice. Chips cold and greasy. Won’t be ordering again from here.

Every single good review for this place is fake. The food is disgusting. The chicken chow mein we ordered smelt like fish, it was also grey and gooey. The chicken balls had an inch of batter surrounding a disgusting, gristly excuse for a bit of chicken. It’s horrifically overpriced and the service is shocking. The woman behind the desk had a raging cold whilst coughing and spluttering with snotty tissue up her sleeve. 100% sure this place has a bent health and safety officer as it’s an appealing establishment. Loads of Chinese places in town to use… PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t use this one. Even if you had to walk 2 or 3 hours away to get a Chinese, that would be a better option that using this hell hole. All they need to do is sack everyone that works there, get a new owner and burn the building down and start again. Leaving 1 star was actually hard as that’s a huge compliment to give it even 1. AVOID

Really good Chinese takeaway and staff really friendly. A food and good portion size. Cash only but Bank cash points very near. Saturday night is really busy, even when you order in advance can still end up waiting 30 minutes plus. Great place but if possible avoid a Saturday or be prepared to wait. My husband and I stayed in Scottsdale overnight. After reading previous good reports on Sun Wah, we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. The roast pork with plum sauce is the best we've tasted, as were the honey prawns. The proprietor is a lovely lady. Just be a bit patient if they are busy, it's well worth the wait.

We ordered food by phone, they told us it would be 3/4 of an hour. Turn up and they never put the order through and never said sorry about it. Just told us we had to wait the same time again. Terrible service

We...after you get over the the dead lady(dont no that she is deaf) that feels the need shout at everyone and the the initial shock of yet another price rise the food was really nice although they seem to be smaller portions each time you visit and seem to bulk everything out with chunks of onion. But will return at least once more.

Ordered food from this place based on good reviews, I ignored the 1 and 2 star reviews.Ordered a variety of dishes (beef,chicken, veggies, chow mein, fried rice and white rice). Veggies were fine, noodles in chow mein were fine, the rest of the food (including the white rice!!!!) was poor,with the chicken dish and the chicken in the chow mein particularly awful. Honestly, the 1 and 2 star reviews more accurately describe my experience.I strongly suggest that you give this place a wide berth.

Although there are several chinese takeways in launceston this is our favourite. Over the counter and phone orders taken by very friendly staff. Only drawback is cash only but there is a cash machine very close.

Prices were a bit pricey for what the food is, chicken balls were nice but chow mein and curry was not good at all, if I were to advise anyone on what to buy there just buy chicken balls and bring cash because they do not take card.

In nearly an hour of trying, they won't actually answer the phone to let us place an order, we have had to go elsewhere, very disappointed.

I don't usually use this Chinese takeaway but for the fact a friend recommended that if I tried anything I should try the chilli chips. I did and they are amazing! Not really chinese food I know but I will be there every week for my chilli chips fix. They are a little pricey for a portion of chips but you do get sliced sweet peppers and onions with them so I'm happy to pay. Very tasty!

Big selection on menu. We ordered special fried rice and a dish and it was delicious. Meals were cooked quickly. Recommended Chinese takeaway.

Uttlerly Flawless, this takeaway is brilliant, it is a bit expensive yet its so worth it it has a briliant range of delicous food cooked by friendly people who give amazing service never had any issues.

Sun Wah ofrece platos de alta calidad - todo recién cocinado y con buenos ingredientes. El personal es amable y los tiempos de espera son realistas. El parking es un poco de un problema - que tienen que aparcar en una calle muy estrecha que puede estar muy concurrido en las horas pico, o está a un corto paseo de la estacionamiento de varios pisos.

As there were only two Chinese takeaways to choose from in Launceston we chose this one as it had better reviews. Food was ready at time stated and even though it had to be driven 15 mins back to our holiday cottage it was still very hot. All food was very good and was enjoyed by all. Prices were excellent for the amount of food we had. Would definately recommend.

Great food the best in town, only issue is they don't take card payments, and the waiting time from ordering over the phone is always over an hour, then you still have to wait when you go to collect, they need to update their system so it would flow out delivery times better, but the food is amazing

We were in Launceston & fancied some Chinese cuisine, so we visited this take away restaurant & were impressed by their very comprehensive menu. The staff there were very friendly & after ordering our food, this arrived after a short while & smelt very good. The cost of this food was very reasonable & when we sat down & ate it we found it to be very good indeed.

I have going here for years now and would recommend this place for really good Chinese food. I have never had a bad experience here with the food. It is always cooked to order and is piping hot. It is also reasonably priced.

It was our wedding anniversary and we wanted a treat a friend suggested Sun Wah and so glad she did. I only usualy have Chinese when we are in London because i have never found a take away as good at home. But Sun Wah has changed all that. wonderful flavour and large portions. Will defiantly be going there again. And was still piping hot after a 30 min drive home.

Absolutely terrible food, cold reheated mush avoid at all cost, rude staff (the English lady on the front desk was lovely) unidentified items found in food and a chicken dish that contained more fat than meat! Never again will I order food from such a disgusting place filled with disgusting rude obnoxious excuses for human beings.

Had lovely meal for birthday tea, and was fantastic as always. Great hygiene too, scores on the door and all that!!! .would not buy any where else in town.

Looking at the other reviews I gave this place a go. Went there on a Saturday night. It was very busy. I ordered the Sun Wah special chop suey. Not sure what sauce they used but whatever it was, not chop suey I've ever tasted before. Being as busy as it was I assume it was just thrown together without much care.

Best Chinese in Launceston, Friday and Saturdays night are really busy, but the food is lush, so worth the long wait and prices are good.

We have lived in Launceston for a few years and had yet to try any of the Chinese restaurants locally so gave this a go for a takeaway one night. We were pleasantly surprised - food was tasty, well up to expectations and of a good quality, and remained steaming hot even after a 20 minute drive home. Will certainly return to try a few more of the menu options another time.

We were staying with family and too lazy to cook so decided to get a Chinese take away. The food was really, really nice and they accommodated an off memu request with no problems, we'll use it next time we're in launceston.

I have to agree with the reviews that say this Chinese is hit and miss. Sometimes it is very good and sometimes very poor. As with all Chinese take aways it is fast. Menus at Chinese restaurants are always very long but I feel this misses some of the best options.

This is a tricky one, some times the food is disgusting especially the chicken. However it can also be good. The food is hot and generally the service is fast.

Another fantastic meal, we have been so lucky picking this restrurant from our very first day of moving to Launceston. We have been very lucky and have never had a poor meal. Would recommend.

Had a takeaway from Sun Wah tonight on the way back to Cornwall and I have to say it was the best Chinese ever! We had a set meal for two and some extra's and it was great.Will we be going again? You bet!

Its our local Chinese takeaway we use it all the time we have tried all the other Chinese takeaways in Launceston and Sun Wah just does it for us! Yes it does get a bit chaotic on saturday nights with lots of people in town but the food never disappoints and we will continue to go for long! anyone who decides to visit Cornwall i would strongly recomend you going there for your food

This Chinese takeaway looks a little run down, but the quality of the food is some of the best we have ever had, well worth trying.

This was the only takeaway that my family ever went to when I was a child, but things have gone down hill and perhaps it is a victim of its own success.Admittedly we have tried this place during peak times, but we've found it rather chaotic - the staff run off their feet, the orders getting behind, and last time there were people complaining. The same time the food wasn't up to scratch - the meat was dry and chewy and it was all a bit of a disappointment. Nothing disgusting, but you expect better when you pay for a takeaway. I'm afraid I've switched sides to a Chinese takeaway around the corner which seems friendlier, and the food is more consistent. For quieter times, and for your basic Chinese takeaway perhaps this place would be OK, but it's lost my vote for the time being.

The food is always tasty, good price,nice and hot and fresh tasting. It is a very busy take-away and not being able to get through quite often is the only downside.

Avoid using early as you food will be from the last nights left overs. Very bland and all tastes the same would not use it again

The take away is run by a lovely family who are always friendly and helpful, Basic chinese fare well cooked and hot. The spring rolls are cooked from scratch and are enormous and delicious.

I've used this place a few times now and find the food totally amazing.I normally have chicken curry and this is very tasty and portion sizes are very good.Probably best ribs I have ever had and pricing is very reasonable.Having moved down from the midlands nearly 6 months ago this is our no.1 Chinese in the area and we have tried a few in and around north Cornwall.Highly recommended 5 stars
