Full House Chinese Take Away in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Come in to the shop to order take away on Saturday evening. Floor in the shop was wet and no sign was display. I Fell over and twisted my wrist and my ankle. Absolutely unacceptable. I will never visit this place again! For first you should display sign before you start cleaning your floor for second never mop the floor when your establishment is still open for customers!

There are a few Chinese takeaways in West Penwith, and I've pretty much visited them all. This one is without doubt the best

Near Penzance for 5 nights so spent 1.5 hrs looking at all the reviews of Chinese takeaways, as you do, getting more confused with differing reviews! Gut instinct paid off and the 15min drive was well worth it. Flavoursome, quick, hot and all the family were happy. Cash only so don't forget. Enjoy 😁

Best Chinese we ever had. Everything wasn’t dripping in sauce, you could taste the flavour of each component of the dish, was a perfect celebration meal for my wife’s 50th. As a tourist you never really quite know what you might be getting, but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with a takeaway from here. Cheaper than the fish and chip shop!

Penzance locals are so lucky with this hidden gem! I travelled here on holiday and decided to try out this takeaway as it was close to the hotel. We went there 2 days out of the 3 days. The first day we had the mixed deep fried balls, all delicious and the special friend rice with extra pineapple is the reason we went again. Did not take a picture as we demolished the food too quickly. The second day we went back and ordered a set meal for 1 person and Singapore chow mein. Took the pictures, the bang bang chicken salad was very nice and refreshing. Never had a salad from a Chinese takeaway before and the sauce was nice and creamy mustard. The rest of the food was very good quality and had good amount of meat and ingredients. Highly recommend!

Really impressed by this takeaway - big, juicy prawns, loads of beef and very tasty. Staff are also really accommodating. Recommended! Much appreciated from the lady from HK.

Worst food we have ever had. Nothing like the picture they show you and tasting really very bad. The cheapest ingridients that exist. We had to throw it away and stay hungry for the rest of the day during our Cornwall trip.

I’m a pretty repetitive eater so I can only Vouch for their chicken curry, egg fried rice, king prawn curry, prawn toast and satay chicken. In my opinion, these guys have the edge (of the above at least) over the others in Penzance in my experience of shuffling around the takeaways of Penzance over the last 42 years. Beautiful chicken non processed style crispy onion and perfect sauce. Well done guys and thanks for the service.

I have this takeaway regularly and cannot fault them one bit! The customer service is brilliant, they are very friendly and the food is divine. The food is always to the best standard and usually made within 10 minutes! 5 stars the whole way

First night in Cornwall and after a long drive we fancied a Chinese. We waited over an hour for just 2 dishes, other people coming in and getting served before us. when we ate it we were so disappointed. Chicken chow mein was the strangest colour I have ever seen and tasted of nothing, chicken curry was thick and again tasteless. I am surprised to read good reviews at this place

I have been using this takeaway for over 10 years never disappoints food always spot on . There chicken curry & Home made pancake rolls take some beating . Highly Recommended.

First time having a Chinese away on holiday in Cornwall. I must say it was perfection as a takeaway can be. Considering we made a big order, everything was done within 15 minutes but it was close to 9 o'clock on the night we ordered. The crispy shredded beef and bbq ribs were so tasty and exactly how I remember them from when I was a child. Chicken and mushroom curry again delicious, not a lot of onion which is always a reason a Chinese is never as good sometimes. Certainly if I'm back in this part of the world I'll have Chinese from here again.

Why lie and say you’re open till 11:30 on a Sunday? I got there 11:10 and you’re closed. Load of rubbish if you ask me

Good quality for its price . Fast fresh food , chicken can be a bit dry sometimes but still good

First time using Full House. We moved here over 14 months ago and ended up using this takeaway as our local one was closed on Mondays. Can safely say we will now be using this one from now on. Really good food. Hot, tasty and good value for money. I asked for the Singapore noodles to be made spicy, and my husband said that its probably the first time ever that they were just as he liked them.

Simple the best and such friendly people

Here is the closest you'll actually get to eating Hong Kong food without actually being in HK, where I've been 7 times, the food and staff are always very nice and the food is always tasty and hot.

Great tasting dishes, we are regular takeaway customers and cannot fault Full House, not too salty, fast and friendly.

This used to be my favourite Chinese takeaway and the staff are lovely but the food has gone downhill. I hate to say this but many of the dishes taste bland or the same. This is not how it used to be. What has gone wrong? I hope they sort themselves out and don't lose any more customers. This was the best in town!

Worst Chinese ive eaten. Very disappointing. Egg fried rice was flavour less, sweet & sour prawns were ok, satay chicken again was ok but not great but the crispy chilli beef i took one taste and left the rest. I could cook better food but im away on holiday and dont want to cook.

Been going here for almost 30 years. Never had a bad meal. It’s EASILY the best take away in town and the best Chinese take away iv ever had! Would recommend eating here 100%.

Found this takeaway through a friend having been to numerous others. We've tried various meals and the food is always the same, excellent. This is definately the best chinese takeaway we've ever been to, the kitchen staff are all friendly and extremely polite. Whenever I go It's always busy, so speaks for itself really, highly recommend.

Used to use this Chinese a lot and it’s slowly gone down hill so much to the point we won’t ever go back. The staff who work less often I think are husband and wife he’s bigger she talks good English are very rude. The food is terrible the curry had 1 inch of oil floating on top. Also if you look into the kitchen when ordering they keep the rice cooked in a washing up bowl on the floor this is so dangerous and very poor kitchen practise. Not the first time hygiene has been questioned Cornwall council previously scores them 1 on the kitchen hygiene !! Very sad as we are local and like to support local. On the other hand Newlyn Chinese’s is amazing well worth the small journey from pz it’s called china garden. Sorry full house we have been loyal through thinking it will get better it’s just got worse and worse !!!!!! Up your game !!

We stayed 3 nights in Penzance and found this little Chinese take away shop front just 3 mins from our apartment, Food was good and our dishes very tasty. Maybe a little different to what we buy in Australia (we are closer to China) but we still liked it a lot. Definitely worth trying,.

We ordered and waited 15mins the food was piping hot and tasted great. Crab sweet corn soup great. Even chips were good. Would recommend.

Ordered a few of my usual dishes to share with friends which were nothing outstanding but fine. The bang bang chicken starter was stone cold, not just luke warm, completely cold. The rest was a normal temperature and it hadn't been waiting for me so not only does this imply that dishes might be microwaved to hear up, but that they forgotten to warm it up. Shame because the staff are lovely and it's got a lot of potential.

When we lived in Penzance this was our regular Chinese takeaway. We visit every time we come home but didn't come down last year so were looking forward to our takeaway this year. We always have Sweet and Sour Pork balls. My Grandaughter had Sweet and Sour chicken. Sweet and sour Pork balls and sweet and sour chicken balls. The chicken and pork balls were mixed up. The Chicken balls were more batter than chicken and the pork was tough and chewy. The sauce tasted strange. THE chicken chowmein was OK that my grandson had. We will probably try again because the problem was unusual in our experience.

Curry sauce far too spicy and swwet and sour tasted like pure vinegar... will stick to mays chinese in future!

A great meal, they just need to get some tofu (beancurd) in as they have lots of options for omnivores,not so many for veggies.

The food here is fresh and tasty, they are always open which is helpful and it's so reasonably priced.

We have used this takeaway twice while on our holiday. The food is cooked fresh to order. There is an extensive menu and the service is fast.

Very been having a Friday night take-away from here for a very long time. I wouldn’t have one from any were else.

We were on holiday in Mousehole and a local told us the Full House was the best Chinese take away in Penzance. The lady that served us was very friendly, she took the time to explain some of the dishes to us and booked an order time with the kitchen to allow us to have a drink while we waited. The food was hot and delicious, the canton beef is one of their best sellers and is one of the best Chinese dishes I've had. The establishment is very clean and has a hygiene rating of 5. Cannot fault this one, the food and service were excellent.

The best Chinese takeaway we've experienced. So good we ended up heading here most nights when we stayed in Chapel St! The roast duck with bean shoots was perfect, properly crispy, in fact tbh it was the only time I've ever had good duck in a takeaway. In other places it's been rubbery and wet. The shrimp fried rice was truly delicious also. Next time we're in Penzance we'll definitely be heading here again!

At work and feeling peckish so me and a couple colleagues ordered a Chinese between us. Portions seemed smaller than other places but all in all it was rather nice

As a visitor to Penzance we decided to Google the best Chinese takeaway locally. Collection very difficult poor parking, however very quick service, which perhaps should have been a warning. Sweet and Sour sauce was some sort of nuclear experiment of vivid red almost neon and tasted like a bottle of vinegar, large chicken balls but very low grade meat pretty horrid other dish Kung po slightly better but not much water down barbeque sauce and again poor grade meat. Egg fried rice was starched and claggy pretty bad. Both my partner and myself failed to finish or really start. Consider an alternative.

Whenever in the area we always pay a visit, top quality food, prepared with care, never too greasy or oily as takeaway food can be. Good portion sizes, swift service, always tastes and looks very fresh. Very jealous that our local Chinese Takeaway cannot serve...

Hemos estado de vacaciones en Penzance durante más de 10 años ahora y siempre de la cabeza a este chino para llevar nuestra primera comida a la llegada. No te puedes equivocar aquí; la comida es insuperable, y ojalá sea vivido en Penzance o que abrieran otra cerca de mi casa como yo sinceramente puedo decir que es la mejor comida china para llevar que he tenido y que sólo tienen la oportunidad de ir allí una o dos veces al año es simplemente no era lo suficientemente!

Como gente que use este para llevar un buen restaurante chino. Recién preparado, sabroso y bien porciones Vaya por la 87 un especial - el pollo ligeramente con magra de cerdo, verduras, en una salsa deliciosa luz.

Esta comida para llevar en el corazón de Penzance justo al lado de la calle Chapel sirve deliciosa comida y está impecablemente limpio puedes verte en la cocina siempre es una buena señal. Servicio agradable totalmente recomendable.

First used this take-away years ago but haven't been for a while having not stayed in the area recently. However we very much enjoyed our meal for one at the week-end - nice and hot, very tasty and more than enough for a couple. Excellent value.

Spent 2 weeks in Penzance and this was the most consistently great food. I ate in most pubs restaurants every day. Take away only option. Number 91 my personal favourite.

Love the SCM get it every Sunday without fail. My wife gets it too even though she has to pick out all the meat and give it to me cos she's a veggie. She could probably get them to do her a veggie one but I'm not gonna suggest it.

This has to be by far the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. If I owned this take away I would close up shop. The roast pork chow mein was cooked from frozen and frozen a very long time ago. We ordered three meals and got as far as two mouth fulls. I honestly have nothing positive to say about this place other than cut down your huge menu, specialise in better dishes or close up shop. People deserve better than this. If you want to not feel well after eating this is the place to go.

We tried this takeaway with slight trepidation but were wonderfully surprised. The food was quick, hot and freshly cooked. The dishes were delicious, full of flavour and plentiful. The takeaway was clean (an absolute must in our book) and the staff really friendly. Excellent value for money. We will definitely use again.

We used to use Full House when it was known as Full Lum, way back when we lived down there and ran the Fountain Tavern. Since we moved away we use Full House every time we are in Penzance. We love it and have no problems. I would recommend this takeaway.

This has to be the worst takeaway I have ever eaten. There was so much food colouring in the crispy beef it was luminous pink. A strong taste of vinegar rendered it inedible. The fried noodles were tasteless. Sezchuan pork was hard and tough with another vinegary sauce. All we could taste was vinegar and chemicals.

I like Full House, they're polite and quick and the food always tastes good. It's nice seeing it being made in the back kitchen looks clean and even the chefs are friendly! I've actually had the Chow Mein a few times and it wasn't watery so I guess it was just a mess up on that other reviews occasion. Go for the bang bang chicken... it's delicious.

I noticed this place was not on Trip Advisor, I had to add it on here to tell people how bad it is. The chicken chow mien was watery and tasteless. It was just not edible and I couldn't eat it. The lemon chicken was very average, the crispy beef was about the only thing I could eat. The curry sauce that we ordered with the chips was disgusting. Even the prawn crackers tasted bad, how you could get that wrong??? Really really poor Chinese take away.
