Great food, best around in my opinion. Tried pretty much every one in the surrounding area and these by far are always consistent, friendly and always tastes fresh.

I buy Chinese as a treat, well I won’t be having it from here ever again. Food arrived almost cold. As for the onion rings well smart price ones would have tasted better. They were disgusting about 6 breaded and over fried for £2.20 The one star is for the sauce. Will tell all my friends how awful it was. Chow mein with no veg at all. Not a mushroom in sight, no bean sprouts,no onion just 3 bits of pork and 3 bits of chicken plonked on top of noodles then bbq sauce. Oh I forgot the 3 prawns

We have ordered from this takeaway on several occasions since moving back to the area 2 years ago and find the service and food of the highest quality. Recently, on having our family visit due to the wife's birthday, I ordered a pretty varied number of dishes for us all with a request to collect in approximately 30 minutes. I drove to collect and had a very short wait whilst the order was put together, leaving the premises at exactly 7pm as per the time requested. The food was, as always, first class, tasty and piping hot. The menu is quite extensive and varied and to me personally, of a very high standard, as is the quality, but at very reasonable cost. Highly recommended

Good take away. Good well made food, but had to wait 10 mins despite ordering by phone 30 minutes earlier. Fairly good value £27 for 2 people.

Really nice food and friendly service

I come to PAR several times a year. I have to say that New Dragon never disappoints. This time we ordered takeaway for 6 of us, 3 adults 2 teenagers and a 9yr old - service was friendly, food was lovely, price was very reasonable. Doesn’t seem to matter what time of the year, or what time we order, it’s always exceptional! We all loved it!

Cheap and cheerful but I won’t go again because I can make better Chinese food with Asda Chinese takeaway bundles.

As a previous reviewer has stated. This has got to be the worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had the misfortune to visit. The Crispy Duck was anything but. (And tasted odd). The Chow Mein was cold. (And didn’t taste very nice.) The chips and the spring roll weren’t very tasty either. I realise I’ve only reviewed 4 dishes. But, I’m here on holiday and I can only review what’s put in front of me. Maybe it was an off night🤷🏼‍♂️? But, with the price of takeaways now being sky high, I would think all fast food outlets can’t really afford to have ANY ‘off nights’. Just, as always, my VHO. Card payment and food I have had has been good

We're new to the area and this takeaway, although the reviews were not that great, is so close to us we thought we'd give it a go. So glad we did! The bbq ribs are the best we've ever eaten. They even did a yellow bean chicken dish for me despite it not being on the menu! They are so generous with the quantities of meat in the dishes and the portions are large so there's plenty to eat. We've ordered from here twice now and will be back again before too long... we've also recommended it to several other people so hopefully they'll have more positive reviews very soon :-)

Had a take away delivered this evening, special noodles, really delicious. Think that some of the negative reviews may have been for the previous owners. Radically better now.

I feel their standards have improved greatly here and I hope they maintain this. They have nailed the salt & pepper squid & chicken. Not many get squid right it is neither dry or chewey. I love the other dishes I have tried too.

Amazing, really tasty and quick service

Had many a stunning take away here so I do not know what happened tonight, Dreadful green chicken curry and very very strange sweet chilli king prawns. The prawns were cooked in some kind of sauce with the sweet chilli in a tub by the side.......most odd. I know the chinese are not renowned for chips but the children wanted some and they were so hard no one could eat them. Our favourite dish taken off the menu....... Am guessing a change of ownership. £32 wasted

Tried this takeaway for the first time on Saturday was disappointed, chicken curry was swimming in oil, that bad had to spoon the oil off from around the curry, chips were good thought!!

Absolutely fuming. Spent £35 on chinese tonight, which was awful. I called (before we tasted the food) because the crispy chilli beef was completely dry, so i asked for a refund. I was told they would send someone to refund me and they wanted the beef back, which i was happy with. I got a phone call a bit later to say no one could come to refund me so they could refund to a card over the phone, which was fine by me until i got told i was being refunded for 'crispy chilli beef that did not have enough sauce on for my liking'. WTF!! These pictures show it was complete dry. Horrible foood, rude to customers. STAY AWAY!!

Have ordered from this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. The service is second to none, from the staff at the restaurant to the delicious food served by the chefs, and the courteous delivery drivers. If only other takeaways had the same ethic and I would write a lot more reviews.

Firstly - They only take cash, not cards... That being said I have not been able to find any major faults with their menu, and the taste is always excellent. My wife loves a Kung Pao King Prawn, but for some reason they do not use cashew or peanuts in their recipe, which is a minor complaint (I usually add some at home) otherwise the taste is very good and as expected. I like hot spicy, and really like their *Speciality* dish of General Tsao's Chicken. As for rice dishes, that is down to personal choice, but we really like their Singapore Fried Rice.. I was originally concerned by some bad reviews, but personally I have not been disappointed.

We have eaten a lot of Chinese take always and this would rate amongst the best we have tried. We collected it, but food was cooked promptly for us.

Well, we ordered a bit more than we needed because it sounded so good ! We were not disappointed. An enormous selection of rice dishes, mindblowing ! We had a selection of chicken , prawn, beef and vegetable dishes, all of which were excellent , but it is the chicken with orange and cointreau that lives long in my mind ! To die for !

Food has improved greatly lately. Wasn't too keen a couple months ago but tried it again last week and it was excellent 😊

My son's just moved down the road from this Chinese,and decided one night to try it out. After reading some of the mixed reviews wasn't sure at all. But my son and husband decided to try it, and we wasn't disappointed,the food was really nice,plenty of it and hot. Does seem a little odd that two bad reviews both came from the same area. Glad we went and tried for ourselves.Will be going back again.

Just had chinese delivered it was the worst takeaway ive ever had! The onion rings were like asda breaded frozen ones, the house special had half ingredients missing, (a chow mein with no bamboo shoots and no water chestnuts, no mushrooms either, carrots or cabbage)and the food wasn't very hot just luke warm like it's been sitting a while, under new management do I understand. Avoid this takeaway don't waste your money!

Under management , menu changed big mistake taking a very popular dish off the menu , the alternative was awful . Had onion rings also paid 2.20 for 6 mc cain onion rings . Have always rated this place and regularly had food from here in the past but definitely not returning .

Myself and a group of friends had a takeaway from here hearing that it was under new management. (My two friends like it here and have it occasionally)

This was the second time I tried here in 6 years. I remembered now why I didn't go back.... I must admit the curry sauce was outstanding however the chips were reheated reheated reheats and inedible.... How difficult is it to make decent chips?I tried to complain Or explain and was told people liked their chips and I couldn't speak to a manager customer service was also awful. Such a shame as I hear some of their food is nice I wouldn't waste my money there again. I gave 2 stars as the curry sauce was amazing.

i had a chicken curry,it seems to be like everyone i have had around st austell,they are all like wallpaper paste,this one was congealing before i finished my meal and the chicken was slimy,still looking for a good chinese in st austell

Go here quite often. Always good fresh food.good price also. New Chinese takeaway opened around the corner but would not recommend it definitely use this one. Lots nicer food and better service.

This takeaway isn't the closest to us, but it's worth going a bit farther forreally good food. The hot & sour soup for example is excellent & you get twice as much as the Lostwithiel chinese gives (I measured the containers). The prawn chow mein is a firm favourite & the duck with pancakes.
