Excellent food great service well worth a visit

Service was efficient and fast. However, the food was a bad experience. Most of the stir fried dishes were too sweet, like they were all cooked using the same sauce. The Szechuan dish lacked spiciness and the hot and sour soup were neither hot nor sour - tasted of warm sweet chilly sauce. We chose the restaurant due to the relatively high ratings, maybe we chose the day where the chef was off duty, as our experience doesn’t come close to those ratings.

As we had just arrived, it was a long journey down to Falmouth for a week away, couldn't be bothered to cook, so we choose to have a takeaway from Ming's garden. We were very happy we did, the food was delicious, the house special fried & the Currys were really tasty. Would definitely recommend if ever you have a Chinese!!

Don’t bother going anywhere else for a Choyniese in Fal

Very nice hot food but do not eat in as a restaurant!! Soulless room, plastic table cloths, no table condiments!! Like sitting in a takeaway which is what it was doing. Food very hot but staff pretty clueless on how to do table service. Do not think it is a restaurant……..it really isn’t. Very disappointing!!

Stumbled across this place on the way back from the beach. Me and three friends spontaneously decided to give it a go. This turned out to be a brilliant decision. When I say the food was out of this world, some of the BEST I’ve EVER had, I really am not exaggerating. For Cornwall, the prices are competitive, and to top it off, the staff were lovely and attentive! I’m actually thinking of popping back again today.

My husband & I had a 5 course banquet to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful welcome & excellent service. The food was delicious-piping hot & full of flavour -recommend the monkfish-yummy! Thank you for such a wonderful memorable evening!

Doesn’t matter which dish you order, you’re gonna get gloopy sweet sticky sauce Egg fried rice is somehow completely flavourless and dry If you don’t mind paying £10-15 for gloopy syrupy guck smothering your prawns or chicken, you’ll bloody love this place

This is the based on my second recent visit, the first being in 2022 and was consistent. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants to visit. First of all, it’s a nice spacious restaurant. Very clean. In fact, we saw the staff clean down a table after customers left. Staff were very thorough, they even wiped the back of the chairs. Chopsticks handed out on request. The menu is generally as expected. We wanted to make a few changes and asked for the chow mein to have mushrooms only, we also asked if a particular sauce could be thinner and we asked for the ribs to not be battered and they were happy to accommodate because it’s not pre-made ( good to know). The ribs were so perfectly soft I could eat them with chopsticks. Same for the squid. All good was outstanding. The staff were warm and super friendly. Excellent value too. The bill was actually less than what I paid elsewhere. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

We arrived in Falmouth this afternoon for an overnight stay and decided to pop in and try the food, it’s our children’s first experience eating Chinese food and they absolutely loved it, the staff were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us, the food came out rather quick and was great portion size and great price, we couldn’t finish it all but would definitely come back again in the future

If I could I wouldn’t even rate this restaurant a star from the service and product that I had received last night. I had purchased some food last night which first of all was overpriced for the food we received. When I had opened the bag I was then to se that the staff hadn’t packed the food in a professional manner due to the curry sauce lid not even being placed on properly leading it to spill as I tried to take the food out the bag. Due to the lid not being on correctly the curry sauce had spilt and left me with 2nd degree burns and a 3 hour trip to the hospital. I then proceeded to contact the store today ti allow them ti be away if the situation not wanting anything from it but and apology but this didn’t happen when the rude “manager” proceeded to laugh and not take the situation seriously. I feel humiliated and embarrassed for the company’s they belive this is the right way to speak and handle complaints leading to that I would never return let alone recommend anyone else to. Absolutely shocking customer service and I hope that now the so called manager will now use this review in future and improve his customer service as he lacks in this massively. We had a fabulous meal. Chinese food is my dad's favourite and to be able to sit in restaurant was the best. Sadly we don't have any sit down restaurants where we are. The food was top stuff the service could not have been any better. Thank you to everybody. And see you next time we visit. Defo worth a visit.

A clean and efficient establishment. Lots of "taking away" activities noticed that had zero affect on the restaurant service. Food was piping hot at the table and delicious. Would eat here again.

Excellent all round! We dropped in without booking, the staff were very accommodating put us in our own private area. Service was quick, good food recommendations. When the food came it was brilliant! I'd definitely recommend the sizzling dishes, any black bean sauce dish!

My wife and I are visiting Falmouth and decided to try Ming's Garden. We walked in without booking the staff were friendly and inviting. We were given a few minutes to look at the menu and then our drinks order was taken. Once we ordered our food the service was quick. The food came out hot. I had barbecue ribs. The best I've had in a long time. I also had the beef curry and chips which was delicious. The portions were big and very filling. Both of us failed to eat all the food. I would recommend and if I'm in the area i would definitely come back or order a take away.

Had lovely meals dining in. But 2nd time I've ordered delivery with One Delivery, & food taken nearly an hour and food nearly cold when arrived. Perhaps no added tip has an effect? Either way, not representing a good restaurant well for future deliveries.

Best Chinese food in Falmouth!!!

Egg fried rice - wasn’t fried was like boiled rice with some egg. BBQ sauce was very vinegary. Salt and pepper chips came in plastic tub so was soggy when arrived. Not great when your paying nearly £40

Portions very generous , staff very friendly and will be returning soon hopefully. Amazing !!

Staying overnight in Falmouth and was looking for somewhere to eat. We came across Mings and booked for dinner. The food was incredible. Fantastic textures and flavours. Both my partner and I would highly recommend this place. Service is good and prices are affordable. We’ll definitely be returning.

I regularly use Ming’s as my go to Chinese in Falmouth and have done for a few years. On this one occasion I decided to call Ming’s to say I was not happy with the quality of food delivered, the prawn crackers were so stale even my dogs wouldn’t eat them! The same could be said if the crispy beef and the salt and pepper squid; nothing was fresh. Normal customer service would be apologetic and a conversation of how to rectify the issue, not Ming’s. Instead I was faced with an arrogant call handler who was not fussed, it is what it is. Thanks Ming’s but no thanks, that’s my custom gone forever.

What a dreadful place, the two waiting staff were both AWFUL and RUDE. As for the restaurant itself, dull and with no atmosphere. I cannot stress how much I suggest you find anywhere else to eat in Falmouth! If I could give no stars for service to show how bad it was, I would.

Excellent! We were in Falmouth for purely practical reasons, taking students home, and we all needed something tasty and wholesome. This place was great! Not very many people - but enough - so the service was brisk. Wonderful sizzling dishes (volcanic!) and all the classics came in at an amazingly reasonable price, around £15 a head (no wine). Brill!

Ate here during the Tall Ships event at Falmouth and Falmouth Week, 2023. Food was really good, sizzling hot and arrived quickly to our table. Would recommend it, it it's cuisine is your kind if thing. Should be possible to find something for anyone to enjoy. Loved their vegetable rice, very more-ish.😋🙂

Late minute birthday booking as another restaurant let us down. My partner had mixed starters which was nice a food selection from our own choices and I had prawns for starter, I wasn't expecting them to be batteries tho. Main course I had sizzling monkfish again was r expecting it to be batteries but it did taste great. We didn't have desert as we had a birthday cake at home waiting. Overall very nice

Really pleased with our takeaway from this restaurant, all the dishes we ordered were superb, they arrived hot, were really tasty with tender beef and prawns. I feel for the portion size, speed of delivery it's great value for money the delivery driver was super polite and delivered some distance outside of town Thank you. The only reason this place won't be our regular is we live 300mile away from here.

The food was so gross! We tossed it out! The sweet and sour had no flavour, the shrimp Curry was so greasy, and the chowmein was so greasy and the meat was chewy!

Great find in Falmouth There are far too few of this style of Chinese restaurant across the UK. Unpretentious good food in an interesting location. Excellent starters, good crispy duck and sizzling dishes were extremely tasty. The Singapore noodles were just slightly too salty for me but otherwise really good experience served by friendly staff. Good to see it busy early in the week with seated diners and takeaways.

A very big Chinese restaurant in falmouth with a very big variety of option for meat lovers and vegetarians too. They have a happy hour set menu that runs from 5-7:30pm. Really worth the price and food! Friendly staff and the restaurant can also fit big groups of people. Best to book in advance during rush hours!

Wir waren zu viert hier. Uns allen hat es ganz gut geschmeckt. Ich hatte einen Extrawunsch, der nicht auf der Karte war, und man hat ihn mir gerne erfüllt. Der Reis mit Gemüse war zu teuer. Alles andere finden wir OK. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend.

Tasty takeaway and excellent service.

We placed an order for pickup and everything was great. It was ready and hot when we arrived and the front of house person was wonderful, very friendly. The food was packaged well and stayed hot until we were ready to serve. All the dishes were great and would definitely recommend and will go back if in area again.

Break away just before new year, Rang on the day and booked a table polite and efficient service opted to go straight into main dishes. Meals came in good time plentiful and looked great Slightly over salted but not by much Rice dishes were not the best to be honest, sticky Over all the meals were good but let down by the quality of the rice Lovely friendly people great service Worth a punt fir sure

What a great restaurant, our last night in Falmouth so a Chinese was the order of the evening, very happy smiling staff, nothing is too much trouble, food first class, we needed a taxi back to our hotel but all local cabs were booked, The owner took us back to our hotel in his car !!!! they care about their customers, give them a try if you are down this way .

As locals we used to visit Mings Garden a few years ago, then new people took over and it all changed, food bland and service not good. Tonight 6 of us we decided to give it another try, we were offered a drink when we sat down , but not again throughout our meal . We started our food which was awful, fried rice was boiled rice and everyones meal was so salty it was inedible , when we asked the manager, we were fobbed off as this was the way the food is as it should be, obviously the chefs do not taste the food. Saying that, the serving staff were doing an excellent job , so not there fault. Never again.

Stayed in Falmouth for 1 week with my wife and step daughter. We decided to eat here on the Sunday evening, the food and service was amazing, staff very friendly and polite. We returned on the Wednesday for another delicious meal. We would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone. 5 ⭐️

A disappointing main course after a fabulous starter. Shame that the special fried rice was nothing special.. it looked like a failed nasi goreng, with little to no meat. The curry sauce that accompanied it was a thimble full; considering your paying for seated dining, so paying that little extra, I thought a decent portion would be had - but no! The prawn chow mein was also very under represented; there was a severe shortage of noodles. A very disappointing visit - I, and my dining companions, will not be back.

Having lived in Asia for a few years, I know that traditional "British Chinese" food is actually nothing like the food they actually eat in China. However I have strong yearnings for Anglicized sweet and sour chicken and fried rice, cooked in the British Chinese way. Mings garden does not disappoint. Really tasty food, especially the chicken fried rice. Very good, prompt service and excellent value.

Staying with the family in Falmouth for the week. After reading the reviews of Mings Garden we decided to call them to order a takeaway. The helpful staff said that we could order through the KernowEats app. After downloading the app we ordered out dishes and waited for it to arrive. We weren’t disappointed! Excellent food. Well presented in nice containers. Hot and tasty. Swift delivery. Will definitely be ordering again and can thoroughly recommend!

Tiny portions. We shared a set menu for 4 persons and we all went hungry. 1 small bowl of rice between 4. They gave 1 extra dish as 4 were sharing I stead of multiplying the portions to the number of people!
