Wow, absolutely beautiful food. The best salt and pepper chips we’ve had in a long long while. Chicken satay was chunky and juicy beautifully cooked, not dry and chewy like some. Chicken balls a good size and tasty. Beef in black bean sauce, was perfectly cooked tender and a decent portion. No fatty inedible pieces. Chicken chow mein, was huge feed 3 people. Thank you x

Me and my partner have been ordering from Sun Moon Lake in Orpington for the past 11 years, and whilst on occasion we have tried a few other local Chinese Takeaways, we always come straight back here as it is our family favourite! I can't agree with any of the bad reviews on here as every time we have ordered the food has always been delivered on time with no issues (ordering direct from their website or over the phone). The portion sizes are great, the food always arrives hot and always tastes lovely and fresh, never greasy. Overall a great Chinese takeaway, so definitely recommend!

Best Chinese in Orpington bar none! Difficult to fathom the bad reviews - we’ve ordered from Sun Moon Lake loads of times and have always been really happy and we are very fussy. Love the place.

I have to edit my review. Don't pay ant attention to the bad reviews, they MUST be fake / rival restaurants!! We love this place!! Have had many deliveries from Sun Moon Lake and have always been really happy. The reviews here don't line up with the reviews on Deliveroo where the majority are very positive 5 star. I think the issue is that you can't, as easily, submit fake reviews on Deliveroo. Best Chinese in Orpington.

Food was bland no flavour but salt and meat tasted horrible

The driver was unable to locate my address and attempted to contact me. Unfortunately, I was unable to answer the phone immediately as I was in the bathroom. I returned the call literally less than a minute later, but the person who answered at the restaurant was extremely rude. They informed me that the driver couldn’t find me and then questioned why I hadn't answered the phone. The manner in which they spoke to me was very unpleasant and unprofessional. This interaction was so off-putting that I decided I no longer wanted to use your restaurant's services. I expect a certain level of respect and professionalism when dealing with customer service, and this experience was far from acceptable.

I would have given 5 out of 5 but didn't because unfortunately whatever meat was in the Singapore Fried Rice, most of the pieces in the rice was fatty which I hate.

Food from Sun moon lake is always excellent, the delivery man Dave is always early which for us is great, he is also a nice man so we'll done all.

The food was cold and very average at best. Multiple missing items not good enough requested refund. Had to re heat the food as soon as it arrived.

I'd order every day if money was no object. Food is tasty and generous portions, except fries. Only complaint is the variability in the amount of fries you get. Two times one bag was enough for my wife and I, the last time it was half the amount. For the price I'd expect a kilo of fries. ~~~~~~ The actual Chinese food is fabulous, haven't noticed MSG in the dishes nor padding out with carrot. Great value for money!

Ordered 5 dishes it came on time but the special fried rice for my son was not warm at all, it looked like pre packed, stuffed into those take away container and microwaved for the customer! Definitely not freshly cooked, it was expensive and I have to reheat the darn food!!!! Will never order again from this place, probably it was a left over or cooked days ago! It tastes horrible! Not happy and will not recommend

Had a large delivery and ordered it at busy time. Surprisingly the food arrived very quickly, but that was where the joy ended. The food was barely warm and dishes were either tasteless or had quite strange taste of cinnamon. Really not worth trying unless you’re happy to bin it. Very disappointing.

First and last time I will be using this Chinese restaurant, over a hour late with two phone calls to the restaurant (one off them stating he's in the lanes)...... Spent a lot of money for stone cold mussels which I had one and then threw them away and rest of the family saying to me we can't eat this (so salty it was like sucking a rock at the bottom of the med) If this this is your first order, then don't bother.....

We should have read the reviews before ordering - they are not wrong! Ordered through Just Eat. We were notified that the food was on its way, which was then revised a few minutes later to show a later delivery time. I rang the restaurant and was told that my food had been ready a few minutes but there were no drivers. I asked them to discard the food and cook fresh when drivers were available, but no, they put it in a hot box and sent it on its way half an hour later. As expected, crispy things were soggy, ribs and chicken satay were dried out and tough as old leather, and worst of all, the kung po prawns were a most peculiar colour, with a repulsive smell and taste, like something had gone off. We couldn't eat them. We complained to Just Eat, but according to their policy, this is acceptable, and we were offered no refund for the disgusting meal. Avoid.

Ordered a delivery through Just Eat. Food apparently ready on time, then delayed because there were no drivers. Complaints to Just Eat were answered that this is within their policy, restaurants can serve food like this with impunity. They seem to have no oversight of their partner restaurants, and customers cannot expect decent food, delivered in an edible condition. The only recourse is to review the restaurant, to warn prospective customers. Complaints don’t seem to be read carefully, as the answers, although apparently authored by a named person, read like they have been generated by a chatbot, and don’t address the issues. Very disappointing.

Not eaten Chinese in ages, after £40 treating me and my wife. Found food greasy, especially the chicken balls. Wouldn’t take another chance from ordering here again, as everything is so expensive. £4 for a pot of Hoisin sauce…..

We got a notification that the food was ready, then a few minutes later this was revised, with a new delivery time 25 minutes later. When I called the restaurant they said the food had been waiting 5 minutes but there were no drivers. I said they should discard it and cook fresh when they had a driver, but they put it in a hot box and it came 25 minutes later, things like wontons and prawn toast were soggy, while the spare ribs and satay chicken were dried out and tough. I cannot understand why there are so many bad reviews for this takeaway. My partner and I have had 4 takeaways from here. On all 4 occasions the food has been excellent. It has heat and plenty of flavour (so far we have only tried: Shredded Chilli Beef, Chicken Curry, Beef in Chilli and Garlic Sauce with Singapore Fried Rice). The delivery time has been earlier than expected, never later than the earliest time specified. We are very impressed with the fact that they deliver to Eynsford. The delivery drivers are also very friendly. We will definitely be ordering again from this takeaway.

ordered and when my delivery arrived a dish was missing called the restaurant and was not believed they basically called me a liar and told me to contact deliveroo. despite the fact that deliveroo doesn’t deliver their food the restaurant they deliver it their selves i have not received my missing item or a refund absolutely disgusting behaviour

I ordered roast pork and duck in bbq sauce with egg fried rice, the pork is really tough and taste like cardboard, the rice had some black bits in it, the food was really salty. The meat was not fresh at all, it seems as if it had be in the back of the freezer for over long period of time.

Ok, ordered chicken fried rice but the rice was boiled with chicken pieces? Not fried - probably won’t use again

All food was hot, I remembered to add the prawn crackers to the basket this time so they'd come free. Satay chicken was really nice and chow mein delicious, could have more veggies in. Prawn toast was good. Albeit finding it a bit expensive, would be good if more meal deal offer options even when buying direct so can switch prawn for chicken etc.

So happy we tried this restaurant. Food was lovely, high quality, and as good as eating a meal in China town. Arrived earlier than the estimated time, the driver was very polite and friendly. 10/10

Top Chinese restaurant..... grate taste food

Yesterday I received this order for me and my partner however having eating the food we stopped as the ribs was really chewy and didn’t taste right with in 15 minutes later me and my parents belly was turning inside out we both had loose bowels all night with cramps I will not be ordering from this place ever again !

The food was disgusting , dry and very salty. It was virtually inedible. Lamb starter was burnt and pancake rolls were incredibly chewy. The duck main course was very salty and chewy.

All food was vile. The worst Chinese I have ever tasted. Thoroughly not recommended. Duck rolls were inedible, lamb and pancakes overfried and had bits of bone in it and my chow mein was overly greasy and my wife's meal was oversalted and dry. Couldn't eat anything and will have to get another meal. Anniversary meal too!

Great food great service every time

Just git a delivery. prawn toast curled up and dry , satay chicken undercooked didn’t even look like chicken and the satay sauce yuk! tasted it and put the lid back on. Ended up just eating the boiled rice . What a waste of money So bad I should get a refund . Have taken photos

Excellent all round. Estimated delivery was between 18.45 and 19.05 but was delivered about 18.33 by a very polite driver. Food was top quality again, generous servings and very enjoyable. We will certainly be ordering from this restaurant soon.

Food quality is OK, but definitely not the high standard expected. For example, their version of fried rice is just boiled rice with ingredients added. This was their second try, will be giving it a miss in future.

Worst food I gave tasted, asked for beef, and got a load off unedible who knows what! Never again.
