Stopped at Retallack resort and this is the closest takeaway to the place so we decided to eat from there. If you’re picking up, be warned that there’s not a huge amount of parking!! To be fair to them, that prepared a dish for my wife that they don’t normally do which was excellent and all the other dishes that we ordered were very good and tasty. The staff are very friendly and the food is very fresh and cooked in front of you and done quickly so no complaints about waiting around. Overall, if you’re looking for a great Chinese meal in the north Cornwall area, then this is the place to go.

Smells amazing just doesn't taste like it sadly... Ordered veg curry, the curry was disgusting tasted burnt noticed all the rice in a bowl knee height at the side of the oven terrible, the girl served me was miserable Used to be really good sadly not now been trying daves for 20yrs

Staying at Retallack Resort and Spa we were looking for a takeaway to save cooking. Visiting nearby St Columb Major we popped into this takeaway to pick up a menu and the very friendly and helpful gentleman serving advised us that they would be happy to deliver directly to our holiday accommodation at Retallack. We placed our order by phone at 7pm and 45 mins later it was delivered by a very polite and friendly young man. The food was excellent, nice and hot and plentiful. We would definitely recommend and should we find ourselves staying here again ( very likely as we have been very impressed with this resort) we will certainly use this takeaway again!

Came down here on holiday to hot for a sit down meal so tried this to eat at the tent and omg what great food staff were so nice and so worth the value for money if we come to Cornwall again we will be stopping here

Worse Takeaway I’ve ever had!I ordered chicken satay and the sauce tasted like pineapple juice! My girlfriend ordered duck and plum sauce and the duck was dry and chewy and the sauce was runny and vinegary! The only positive about this takeaway was that they gave our money back!! Thankfully the co-op was next door and still open so we could cook a late diner!

Not sure how they can call this food....worst food experience going...just counting down the hours hoping not to have a night on the throne.

We’ve ordered from the sun house many times and it’s always a treat, absolutely amazing food, service and pricing. As a local I’d recommend anyone passing through or staying in at columb to have some of their food.

Staying in St Columb on a temporary basis and thought I'd try the local Chinese.It was absolutely beautiful.... Everything was so tasty and full of flavour. Very generous portions. Tried for the first time, always good to discover new places. We ordered a delivery, we live 2 miles away. Food arrived lukewarm, not a great start. The food though was a lowlight, greasy and bland. So disappointing especially considering the higher prices then other takeaways locally.

Me and my partner came here to get a takeaway. Amazing food, huge portion of rice!! We ordered chicken fried rice, chicken balls and curry sauce and I cannot fault it. Would ignore the review below stating they ruined their holiday, it was such good food, just as good as the Chinese we use at home! Would recommend and definitely would go again.

First night on holiday and we wanted a break so thought hmm lets get a Chinese, looked up some of these reviews and thought this place would be great.Arrive at 6:30pm ish and order the food (sweet and sour chicken, lemon chicken, noodles, egg fried rice and wontons with sweet and sour sauce) plus a bag of prawn crackers.My order was taken by someone who clearly was very young , and packed away by a boy who is too young to work he looked about 10. it was clearly a family run business including the children, the kitchen is in the ordering area so you can kind of see them cook. There was a screen put up near the till for Covid 19 reasons but no one was using it, just leaning over the worktop instead. I saw no use of glove, antibacterial gel or anything being used by staff or anyone coming in , and they were happy for lots of people without masks to just walk in, this made me incredibly uncomfortable and angry, as there is only a small space about 2-3 squared in the waiting area where you cannot be far enough away from customers coming in .We arrived back to our accommodation and opened the food, it looked very different from the food we usually get from our local Chinese, but we thought hmm ok lets try it, the Sweet and Sour Sauce was OK as was the Lemon Sauce, but the Chicken OMG as hard as a brick, chewy and revolting ! clearly not a good standard of chicken ! the noodles had no flavour what so ever, the rice was bland and the wontons were hard and disgusting, i have no idea what was put in them but yuck ! . would not recommend this place for anyone wanting a satisfying meal . Never returning again.

Live a few miles away. Always get Chinese here. Good prices, nice food and they deliver for a very reasonable price.

Had a take away yesterday as on holiday nearby. Ordered 2 curries as I thought I knew what I was getting. Wrong, the sauce was absolutely tasteless like it had been watered down. Meat tough and only 4 prawns in the standard prawn curry. How on earth can you mess up such a basic and common Chinese dish? Dreadful

This is a great Chinese Takeaway, old fashioned style where you see your food being cooked. Friendly staff too. I've just moved to the area and I will be a regular for their Lemon Chicken!

Really enjoyed this takeaway while we were staying in St Columb and went back for a second meal during our stay. Very quick service,large portions with plenty of quality meat. It’s what I’d describe as an old fashioned Chinese. We don’t usually eat Chinese anymore as the msg etc. doesn’t agree with us but we didn’t have any unpleasant after affects with this one.

Excellent service delivered to our caravan park as stated within 40 mins, food was tasty, hot and plenty of it, I would definitely use this Chinese again. Beef chow main one one of the best I’ve tasted.

Get Chinese delivered from here to our home in St Eval for a good reasonable price. Food is nice, good value for money. Look forward to it each time.

Needing a quick meal after arriving at our cottage we decided a take away would be first choice. The food was not the best we had had but was good value for money and there was a lot of it. There is quite an extensive menu with good vegetarian options, our order was phoned in and we were told it would be ready in 20 mins and it was right on time.

The food was good, hot and tasty and service was quick Sweet special egg fried rice was different but nice

well down here again after 3 yrs and had to try the sun house again, well another great decisionFood was brilliant, service first class.Such large portions and great quality along with being hot.this is the place to come if you are staying at Piran Meadows a lot easier to get to than going into Newquay

This is the second time we have tried this Chinese and it was lovely. The rice wasn’t greasy at all and we had free prawn crackers. Yum and would definitely recommend!

This is without doubt the worst Chinese’s takeaway I have ever attempted to eat. Staying in Travarrian for a week all eight of us were looking forward to a chinese meal.

Have had a few meals from here and each time it has been lovely. Very quick service and the salt and pepper ribs are amazing!!

Excellent takeaway servicd and the food is delicious. We had a special curry, Crispy shredded beef rice and young chow fried rice. Can't fault the food at all.

I called and they said they would not deliver to 3 miles away. Called back in anger and they said they would but would be 2 hours. I reluctantly said okay and they said cash only and will not take payment in anyway with a card. Disgusting in this day and age and will no doubt reflect in their food quality. I will be mentioning this on the radio tomorrow.

We are staying at Piran Meadows, so not too far from Sun House Chinese. We phoned through our order to a very friendly lady, who said it would be 15 minutes. Not long to wait at all! We drove down and parked up on the side of the road quite easily, picked up the food (including free prawn crackers) and drove back to the caravan.

Got back to our holiday home, started our meal only to find the chicken pieces in the sweet and sour were jelly like. Undercooked. We won't be back again

We were staying nearby, so decided to have a Chinese takeaway. Very pleasant people, we placed a big order, for seven of us. Whilst ok, it was not the tastiest Chinese we have had. Very reasonably priced.

Not very tasty and staff member kept licking her fingers and scratching her head and ears very unhygienic

We recently got take out from here while staying at Pirian Medows which is 14 mins away. The service was quick only waited 15 mins for food.

We were staying at the near by Trekkenning Tourist Park in our caravan, and fancied eating in rather than out.

This place is good for Chinese. Lots of variety to choose from and we've always had good food from there. Only thing that I was not impressed with was the seaweed as it's mock seaweed and didn't taste that nice. However they do state that is mock on the menu. Food is always piping hot and you can see the cooking area which looks clean. Definitely a favourite whenever we're down there!

Had a super take away with friend, they cooked a huge amount of food in next to no time. Also, I left my wallet behind by mistake and they were great in getting in contact with me to return it safely. Good selection of dishes including some Malaysian food on the menu. I can recommend the salt and pepper ribs, very spicy and delicious.

We were staying near by for a weekend away, the food was very fresh and well cooked, nothing was tasteless or dry, it was beautiful. We over ordered but because it was so nice we ate it all! Would order from here again! (lemon chicken was cooked so well, not like most places were it is has too much sauce and watered down!)

Ordered from here twice this week whilst visiting the area. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Speedy delivery and our driver was really nice and friendly and even delivered to our campsite. Would recommend the chilli prawns or the sweet and sour prawns canton Style.

We tend to get food from here most weekends (as it's our closest one), and the food is always lovely - not the best Chinese I've ever had by any stretch, but it's certainly very good. And it's reasonably priced too.I would advise collecting rather than getting delivery though; it's always been a touch cold when I've had it delivered. Not too cold though, just cold enough for it to be noticeable.

We pride ourselves in being quite up on chinese take aways, we are staying at PIRAN Meadows and we fancied a chinese, looked at the various reviews and was not too sure, asked Lucy in Reception and straight \way she said sun house, so phoned our order and was told 30 min, got there on time and it was just being packed.Arrived back at Lodge to hot piping delicious food, large portion and full of flavour and very fresh. the only comment would be that the curry could be more hotter in spice but nevertheless it was good.we have found a little gem, go and try

It is in the village centre and offers a comprehensive menu of fairly standard Chinese restaurant dishes at reasonable prices. And that’s what the food was – fairly standard Chinese restaurant dishes – good with nothing to complain about but nothing outstanding.The service is friendly, and they have an open kitchen where you can watch your food being prepared (unless you prefer to pop to the pub next door for a quick pint).You should note that itt is closed on a Tuesday, and that it charges for delivery (!.50 for first 2 miles, £2.50 up to 4 miles and £1 for each additional mile thereafter)The rating of average is simply because Trip Advisor don’t give a rating for good, which it is. However, it is not sufficiently above the Chinese food in Chinese restaurants up and down the country to warrant ‘very good’, so my rating of average is that average means typical rather than anything detrimental

Nice and clean, always good and consistent. Only gripe is always tough, chewy beef with beef curry. Had this before with other Chinese restaurants. Maybe cheap tough cuts cooked quickly on the Wok?
