Eaten here a couple of times now and always been pleased. On this occasion we had lunch (had an excellent breakfast last time) and liked the quantity and quality. One personal preference was that a side salad garnish was made from fresh, tasty, crisp Iceberg lettuce which made a lovely change from other eateries serving nasty, bitty, feathery types of greenery. Well done Sun Beck! There was easy parking and lovely views over farmland and the cafe interior was light, bright and clean.

Called here after passing a sign on my way from York to Thirsk. The sign said Farm Shop Cafe open. Arrived and surprised to be the only couple of customers. Friendly atmosphere and the staff were outstanding. Breakfast arrived my wife and I who eat out a lot were impressed with the tasty food. I would definitely visit here again in passing nearby. The farm shop had pies jams bread meat etc. Give this place ago. You won’t be disappointed. Children and Dog friendly also. This place ticks a lot of boxes.

We called for breakfast being in the area for a short break. We received a warm welcome, our 2 dogs were also welcomed with a dog treat. Our breakfasts were freshly cooked and good sized portions. Good value for money !!

We visited the cafe en route to our holiday in Northumberland. We both chose the cooked breakfast and it was excellent ( all locally sourced) The staff were friendly and polite. Just 1 minute off the A19, it was definitely worth a little detour! Will be calling again on our next trip!

Stumbled upon this cafe and decided to go in for breakfast, and what a lovely surprise! Me and my partner both had delicious breakfast food that was very filling, and had yummy cakes for afters too. Has parking which is great so we could leave the car safely. We’ll definitely be making this our local:)

I met up with some friends at Sun Beck cafe and had such a lovely time. There's a brilliant breakfast and lunchtime menu but it was late in the afternoon so we decided to have a coffee and some cakes. My friends had chocolate cake and victoria sponge while I ate a delicious homemade caramel butterfly bun! I wanted to take the whole batch home with me! Brilliant and friendly service from all of the team. My friends and I will be returning very soon! Sun Beck is our new favourite place in Raskelf!

I can’t rate this cafe highly enough. The family and I popped in after our dog walk last Sunday and had the best time. Our server Fay was super kind and attentive, she even brought over a water bowl for Casey our black lab without me having to ask! The entire family loved the food, with my personal favourite being the homemade Coffee and Walnut cake! Will be back again this Sunday, keep up the good work!!!

We stopped here on our way up to Edinburgh. We both had the Yorkshire breakfast. It was delicious! Fresh ingredients served nice and hot with crunchy granary toast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the service was efficient. Also it is very clean and spacious so plenty of room for pushchairs/wheelchairs. Great cappuccinos and the cafe is dog friendly. All round winner!

Under new management in past month: now it's Keith & his Thai wife, whose name wasn't given. Good coffee and both friendly & welcoming. Have not been here before so cannot provide 'then & now' comparison, but think it's certainly worth a visit.

We were staying close by for a few days so decided to try here on our way home from Whitby. The pub is dog friendly which is always a bonus. The welcome from the owner was fantastic and he couldn’t do enough for us and our 2 dogs. The menu is excellent with something for everyone, with a good selection of veggie options. I had the koftas and my wife had the lamb casserole both of which were excellent. Highly recommended

Went for a Sunday lunch and ended up having 3 courses. (I skipped breakfast). I like arancini and so went for them - must say best I've eaten! Had beef for Sunday lunch, which came with loads of veg. The cauli cheese wasn't as I would make at home, but it knockes the block off those you find at carveries up and down the country. Baked and cooked to perfection. The pureed carrot was lovely, as was the parsnip and mash. Beef was good, but mine had a run of inedible connective tissue on the edge. Gravey is divine, and I finished with a lovely sticky toffee pudding on a lake of toffee sauce - my fav. And again, lovely. A special shout out to the camp male server who was fan-tas-tic darling! Very confident , helpfull and hard-working individual - an asset to the establishment. These were the great points, and for me and my guests, I'd like to feed back some constructive improvements. The main, on the whole, was great, but for me, I thought the roasted potatoes were a bit bland and dry. There is a massive yorkshire pudding served, which, again, was a bit dry/stale and bland. That was the only real negatives with the food, although the wife said she wasn't overly keen of the beatroot dish. Here is a couple of suggestions from the females in our group - could do with a hook on the back of the toilet door to hang handbags on and, to improve the atmosphere, maybe a few flowers on the tables? Will we visit again? Certainly, when next time in the area.
