Summer Valley in Windsor and Maidenhead

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered a curry and it was tasteless and had a huge layer of oil on the top. Had to try and get rid of that oil before even trying it. Once that was achieved the curry sauce was thin and had absolutely no taste. I have eaten here before but this has seriously gone down hill. Second take away on different days in 2 months. Go somewhere else.

I used to go into town for our Chinese take-away but since Summer Valley opened we have been regular customers. Its always hot and fresh and tastes very good.

We regularly order from Summer Valley and are never disappointed. Last night we ordered as we had friends from abroad visiting. The food was top quality. Their Crispy Aromatic Duck is the best around. No skin or bones. The food was cooked to perfection, and especially my Mixed Veggies. We cannot praise them enough. Our friends who have travelled extensively said that it is the best Chinese that they have eaten to date. (I have an allergy to Chilli and they are always mindful of my request and point out food that I cannot eat, as well as preparing some minus the chilli, but just as tasty). Thank you again Summer Valley.

Our favourite Chinese takeaway, yesterday, provided us with the worst takeaway ever. We went at lunchtime and the place was empty so we expected our orders of King prawns with noodles and Singapore noodles, (no chilli) to be nice and fresh and served quickly. The only good thing was that it was served quickly. The food was terrible with both dishes unrecognisable, salty, burnt and dry and my noodles tasted as though the dish had been covered in curry powder. We started to eat the food at home and found that it was inedible. I left my Singapore noodles in the carton to throw away. My wife threw her burnt King prawns and noodles out into the garden for the birds. The "Restaurant" was closed by now so we couldn't return or phone them. When they reopened at 5pm my wife decided to ring tem up and complain. Sadly there were no apologies but they did offer a refund if we returned the remaining food to them. My wife took the remnants of my Singapore noodles back and they refunded the cost for them but would not refund on the King prawn dish as we did not have any to return. Again no apologies. So sad that they have let us down so badly especially as we were regular local customers. There are plenty of other takeaways around so I imagine that they will not last much longer if this is now the norm. Real shame!

Possibly one of the best Chinese takeaways that we have had for a long time. Good value, very tasty, good sized portions. Plus they will deliver for a small charge. Will definitely be using them again.

Had a takeaway delivered from Summer Valley food was very good. Chicken balls and lemon chicken were nice good portion sizes.

First Chinese we've had in ages I have to say excellent food. I had the sweet and sour chicken balls they were huge had to cut them in half. Husband had the chicken curry/special fried rice again huge portions we will definitely be going back.

Excellent food and Piping hot. Food was Restaurant quality.a little more expensive than normally pay but worth it.

Delicious delivery tonight to Datchet from Summer Valley. Food arrived within 40 mins, piping hot and delicious. Driver was lovely. Will be using them again.

We regularly have takeaways from Summer Valley and have generally been very pleased with the standard of food served. However, sometimes there have been inconsistencies - hence not a rating of 5. But, we keep returning because the food is good, the portions are a fair size and the staff are very friendly and provide a quick service.

Top marks for quality service and cost, what more can you ask for. I highly recommend this place to everyone who enjoys a good honest Chinese meal.

Had a takeaway from this restaurant since it’s changed name from China Garden(big mistake) to the Summer Valley the standard of food in my view has plummeted. It’s now just an ordinary takeaway on a parade of shops. All the owners that came a long and took over the China Garden over the years always kept the food a cut above the rest. Not anymore. Wish you all the best for the future, but will not be returning.

Really fancying a Chinese during lockdown..this Takeaway is within delivery distance and heard about it on social media. Read online reviews (not tripadvisor) they were quite good! Ordered £40+food to celebrate a Birthday. Mixed reviews. Prawn toaslt good. Chicken Satay ok. Ribs, tasteless. Beef chow mein good portion and tasted good. Singapore fried rice really poor, small portion and lacking in any meat or prawns, rice and peas and tasted more fragrant Indian cuisine than a tasty spicy Chinese rice. Schezuan prawns, prawns over cooked but sauce tasty. S&S chicken balls really good. Chips..absolutely not edible, cooked to death, no potato left inside, dark and full of grease. Wouldn't order again, a shame.

My wife went to pick up pre-ordered lunchtime takeaway. She was met by very pleasant staff and the order was ready. She told them that we had been disappointed last time and the staff apologised. When she got home we opened the food and began eating it straight away. The quality and taste had improved dramatically from our last meals, being hot, fresh. (+free prawn crackers this time which was a nice surprise). We will definitely return now. Give it a try and let us know if you think it is maintaining its new quality.

Have struggled to find a decent Chinese takeaway not in central Windsor. Thought we'd try Summer Valley since it changed hands a few months ago. We didn't have a long wait and the food was really tasty and hot, you could tell it was freshly cooked. Great crispy battered chicken balls, well cooked prawns with veg and tasty noodles. Couldn't fault it and would recommend!

First time visiting this Chinese takeaway today. Ordered a few different meals. The mushroom chow mein contained two half mushrooms. The chicken satay was tasteless and the portion size never even filled the box fully as shown in the pictures. The chips were rock hard...

This place has recently been refurbished and is a lot better than it used to be. Service is friendly, engaging, informative and quick. They also deliver. The food is very good. We've tried the chicken curry which has moist meat and a tangy pepper sauce....

We live locally and were notified by a pamphlet through our door that the old China Garden was now to be called Summer Valley. We thought that this was an unusual name but hoped that this small takeaway was to benefit from new ownership or...
