I went here for a meal recently and unfortunately did not have a great experience overall. I will say the waiter was friendly and the food came out quickly, however I wasn't sure about the freshness of one of my dishes. I ordered a vegetarian thali, which is 4-5 assorted small dishes. One of them was a vegetable curry and I did think it tasted a bit tangy, possibly off. I wasn't 100% sure as it was rich in spices which mask it, but after a few mouthfuls I left the rest just in case as the taste was unusual and I wasn't enjoying it. The other dishes did taste good and my partner was enjoying his chicken jalfrezi so I didn't think any more of it, thought maybe it was just me. The bill came and we were charged £5 each for a small 330ml bottle of sparkling water. I know they make a mark up on drinks but this is too much in my opinion! I went to The White Bear and they charge £2.95 for a 750ml bottle just for a comparison. The food didn't sit well and I felt a bit off after the meal and the next few days so I wouldn't go back.

I held up the waiter's towel to stop it falling into the food. The chicken biryani contained barely any chicken and was cold. The waiter came and asked if everything was ok, i said no it was not as the main course was cold. He replied that he could not understand why as he had just collected it from the kitchen. What is the point of asking if everything is fine and when the answer is that it is not, the waiter pays no notice and does nothing? After i asked for the bill, he asked if everything was ok. Again i replied that it was not as the food was cold - which he remembered me saying. He shrugged and said "see you again" Somehow i doubt that very much.

Moved into the area and have been to this place twice including Valentine’s Day. The food was absolutely amazing and the Karahi chicken was extremely delicious. Nice sizes of the dishes and really good decent prices. Me and the missus making this a regular weekend visit. The owner and his staff were so friendly and really took care of us. Felt the positive energy in there. Definitely worth a dine out if you’re nearby :)

Arrived and was greeted by the proprietor as if we were an irritant. The other staff are helpful and kind but treated like slaves. Ordered Macon Blanc wine at £25.50 only to be told it was out of stock. Was offered "Sauvingon Blanc" and had a bottle of Oyster Bay (£5 in Sainsbury's) thrust upon out table and left to pour ourselves. Oyster Bay not on menu. No test, no ice bucket or cooler. The meal was average. Miserly portions. Told them the Oyster Bay was rubbish and then ordered the best wine on the menu, a Chablis. Again no ice bucket or cooler, bottle was thrust on the table, no test or pour and no fresh glasses. When finished asked for the bill only to see a charge of £28.50 for the unlisted Oyster Bay. Took this up with the waiters who were exasperated and couldn't explain why it was so high. Then took it up with the owner who was exceptionally rude and claimed the £28.50 was justified as the wine was from New Zealand. I called him a robber and a conman and another diner, a bald, four eyed, nosey bloke piped up and I told him to mind his own business or if he wanted to get involved he should pay the bill. Clearly, the owner tried to take advantage of us by massively overcharging for a budget wine that was not listed on the menu. Another thing. When customers attempt to pay he always asks for cash. Perhaps HMRC should have a night out here. AVOID. AVOID AVOID.

This place serves delicious food. It’s an old school Indian restaurant with white tablecloths. It’s unpretentious and staffed by hard-working personnel. They do Indian curry there and are very polite and say yes please all of the time which makes a change to some places who don’t even speak.Portions are very generous and it’s not expensive so you can order twice as much food as other places for the same price. We were fat but are huge now. Not because of the restaurant but because we are greedy and have been furloughed so do nothing but eat. It’s old fashioned style with music which is all squeaky voices very relaxing atmosphere.

Thought we’d take celebrate Diwali with an Indian take-away from Sujoy but what a disappointment. Had to wait nearly an hour after being told 30 mins and when the food arrived it was barely luke warm. The staff were wearing their masks around their chins and made no attempt to cover their mouths or noses. They had no idea of personal space and the older guy virtually spat in my face as he handed over the food! The food tasted okay but certainly nothing special & the poppadums were stale. Never again!!

This is the glitzier and more modern of the two Indian restaurants in Chorleywood, with arguably the better food. My Lamb Dhansak was tasty and slightly less spicy than in some curry houses. Good Peshwari Naan bread too. All washed down with draft Indian lager. We were a noisy group, celebrating Christmas of course, but the staff coped well with us and the service was efficient in a slightly leisurely sort of way.

I live locally & have been going to Sujoy for a takeaway meal approximately once every 9 months for the last 20 years. My wife & I recently bought another takeaway meal of 2 portions of chicken korma, 2 boiled rice, 2 garlic nan breads & 1 portion of sag aloo, this is the same meal that I have ordered many times from this restaurant in the past with no problems. When we got home we found the chicken was tough, the korma sauce was very watery, the sag aloo was over cooked & tasteless & the garlic nan was rubbery with no hint of any garlic. The whole meal was awful & completely in-edible, we ended up binning it. Sadly the cooking standards at this particular restaurant have slipped & they have now lost 2 long standing customers.

We tried to get into Sathi where we normally get our takeaways from, but they were full so I called Sujoy to see if they had a table they did and we arrived 15 minutes later. There was a table of 8 gents and myself and one of the other school dads. Had the usual poppadum's and then straight into mains washed down with a lager or two. The food and service up to this point was fine and the menu was quite a bit different to Sathi so a pleasant change. We asked for a taxi and was told 15-20 mins that time passed and we asked where was our taxi at which point we were told we didn't order one, the other parent uses Sujoy on a regular basis and then other members of the staff joined in to deny we ordered the cab - who weren't even present at the time the waiter made the call and came back with the waiting time. A argument ensued as he felt insult that they were lying to him to after being a regular customer for over 10 years, so we left and booked our own cab which arrived in 5 mins

New to the area I got a takeaway the week before. On chatting with the owner he said next time I visit he will give me some complimentary poppodoms. Which seemed welcoming.I returned a week later, to an incense bombed empty restaurant. Our waiter welcomed us in the dirtiest stained shirt, and it was not a good start. He may as well of been wearing a t-shirt. We were not impressed. We ordered poppodoms which were rubbery and obviously not fresh. I had not eaten all day in anticipation of an evening curry feast! The dips were also clearly fermenting. How hard is it to prepare fresh onion and coriander dips, the mint sauce was sour, and had not been refrigerated.Still my greed overwhelmed me and we persevered to starters, my partner wanted to leave.A trip to the 70's was served, complete with stainless steel lemon squeezer for my onion bhaji! My coke had "home made ice" which made it flat, second time I requested it without ice. Next time round i was provided with the warmest coke you could ever wish for. When I asked the owner about the mint sauce, he proceeded to pour some into his hand, stick his finger in and do the most unsightly taste test ever. It was becoming comical, still the restaurant was empty. On sunday evening? This is a telling sign. Our main course arrived, £7.95 for a bombay aloo I have never paid that, it is made us ing cheap ingredients. The rice was standard pat down job, a really mean portion. The daal was very nice and just how I like it. My partner did not enjoy his at all.The toilets in the place are also absolutely disgraceful, and should be refurbished with immediate effect. The bill was also not itemised, which i do not like. It came to £72, which was a hard act to swallow. £4 for a large warm/flat coke is just a complete mickey take. Needless to say I never got my complimentary poppodoms, he just said "next time, next time". Well fellow trip advisors, you know whats coming there most definitely will NOT be a next time here. I am amazed the people of Chorleywood support this establishment. In 2015 it is a complete joke.

The staff are very friendly and attentive, they always remember our names and even greet us in the street! Sujoy is probably most commonly used as a take away during the week so the restaurant can be quiet which may seem uncomfortable to people who are not confident or have nothing to say to one and other so resort to people watching...! but the curry is amazing. Any time we go to a different curry house we immediately regret it.

We have eaten in and and ordered takeaways from Sujoy and found the food average. The overpowering incense that is constantly burning is off putting to say the least. We were incorrectly given a meat samosa instead of two vegetable ones. When I called to complain they said they would replace it with our next order, they literally gave us one vegetable samosa and no apology. Another time they recalculated our bill because they thought it sounded too cheap, they gained 8p in the process! Not impressed.

It took another 20 minutes before either of those items came out. Our booking was for 7.45 yet we did not see any food after the poppadoms until 9.25. Sujoy is utterly old-school. The waiters will still try to get you to order vegetable side dishes, even after you've requested enough starters, naans and mains to feed the 3rd Battalion of the Bengal Lancers. But don't let that put you off - this restaurant is a delight. The food is delicious, which is what keeps the regulars coming back for more. It's not in the same league as Indian Restaurants in, say, Glasgow, Manchester, or Leeds - but if you insist upon living in Hertfordshire or Buckinghamshire, you could do much worse than eat here.

I don’t know where to even start . My first and last time ever . I had a very disappointing experience at Curry Garden. The staff were not only unprofessional but outright rude, making me feel unwelcome from the start. Any questions we had about the menu were met with short, dismissive answers, and it felt as if they couldn’t care less about providing a good experience. As for the food, it was equally underwhelming. The curry was bland, lacked the rich flavors you’d expect, and tasted as though little care was put into its preparation. For a place that specializes in curry, I expected much better quality. To make matters worse, when I tried to address a concern, I was met with eye rolls and a completely unprofessional attitude. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when you feel like you’re being treated with outright disrespect. Overall, between the rude service and mediocre food, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. There are far better places for curry where you’re treated with respect and served delicious food. Skip this one. Just remembered ! Also I purchased 2 Coca-Cola when I was there with my wife waiting for our meal , and I was really disappointed and shocked !. Imagine this ! they use a 2 Liter plastic coke bottle that you can buy from the shops for £1.50 but these scumbags sell it to me for £3.50 each the coke of course was warm and completely flat--no fizz at all!, they weren’t so clever to even put it in the fridge ( I saw it sitting on their table before I even came in the restaurant ) It tasted stale and unrefreshing, which is not what I expect from such a well-known brand. I was looking forward to enjoying a cold, bubbly soda, but this was a letdown. .

I ordered a tikka masala and what I got was basically a red korma. The pathia had too much sauce for a pathia and the tikka chicken was completely covered in coriander which skewed the flavour. Haven’t used them before but won’t use in hurry again
