The best Thai food in Norwich. Definitely recommend!!

Food was nice, a little pricey but worth it. Service could be improved on. The atmosphere was really nice. It's a small place but filled up quickly with interesting people. The teapot and dishes were really pretty and the food was nicely presented.

I was visiting Norwich with 2 friends and we came across this restaurant enroute to the town centre..The decor was beautiful..and inviting..the ceramics for the foods were very pretty..the food menu was simple and had a great choice of options including vegetarian and tofu...the food was very decorative..and tasted amazing..I had satay chicken starter..veg spring rolls..thai green curry and rice with a tia maria and coke and seperate lemonade for £24.. The servers were lovely..very polite and friendly... The meal came out quickly and cooked fresh...I cannot fault it.. The only criticism is the cold restaurant..no heating..but the food and servers made up for it.. I will visit again one day with my son and daughter..

My recent experience at Thai Kitti was truly lovely. The restaurant's adorable interior created a warm atmosphere, and the service from the delightful young lady was a highlight. Despite the quiet ambiance, the Chicken Massaman Curry and Pad Kee Mao were both delicious and satisfying. While the starters, like spring rolls and satay, didn't steal the spotlight, they added a nice touch to the overall meal. In essence, a charming place with delightful Thai flavors that left me with a positive impression.

We went for dinner quite late on a Sunday, so the restaurant was very quiet, however the food and service were really great. We also thought it was very well priced, coming to about £30pp for three courses. We will definitely be returning. Perhaps for lunch next time.

Hardly ever anyone there. Food is great but order individually because the meal plans are much smaller sized and more expensive than the individual portions

Had a meal there tonight. Dont order the crab fried rice, my wife did but there was only 2 tiny bits if crab in it. In fact they may have been egg as they were very very small and didn't taste of crab. Portion sizes were small for the price. £6.50 for prawn crackers! OK quality but need to increase their portion sizes to justify the prices.

I don’t often leave bad reviews as I know this could in a small way affect a livelihood. My kids love Thai food and having four of the little miracles we seldom can afford. They were all very disappointed with their standard order of chicken satay and rice (I know it’s a starter but they love it). My meal was tasteless and stir fry vegetables burnt. From the other reviews seemingly they may have had an off night, a Thursday, maybe head chef’s day off before a busy weekend.

The staff were friendly and most of the food we had was delicious (corn cakes were pretty poor and did not seem fresh). We were initially brought the wrong main dishes and had had a few mouthfuls of it before the waitress came over and told us that she'd accidentally given us someone elses order. She apologised and then brought the correct food out but we were charged for the incorrect mains too!! We tried to argue our case but the waitress was having none of it. Despite it being her mistake, we'd eaten so as far as she was concerned, we had to pay for it. Will not return.

Outstanding food and authentic atmosphere. The service was impeccable and the prices are very reasonable. Would reccomend this to anyone visiting norwich. A hidden gem.

Best Thai food I’ve had outside Thailand, so nice!!

The food was good and the service was nice until it was time to pay. We were a group of six people and the lady refused to split the payment, insisting we should work it out between ourselves and make only one card payment (two at most). The bill was not helpful, as it didn't clearly state what each dish costed, listing items only by code instead of the titles in the menu. It's also a bit overpriced.

Dissapointing stodgy food. Instant coffee. Vastly overpriced. Noodles and rice are extra ontop of dishes that would normally have them included as standard. But mainly the quality of the food was less than you would expect from a even a bog standard takeaway. Dinner for two with one drink each was over 70 pounds. Empty apart from my friend and I. Not surprised.

Spontaneous and unplanned visit at the City Centre turnout to be very pleasant, delicious experience . Traditional, delicious Thai food, well served and decorated plates, very good service, nice and calm atmosphere, and surprisingly good prices. You should try it yourselves. Highly recommended!. Complements to the Chef and waitress.

Almost forgotten we'd been to Thai Kitty! Without a reservation we walked in as there were a couple of free-looking tables. The guy seemingly in charge was keen to seat us but looking around most diners were sitting very obviously waiting between courses, nobody was actually eating. Just at that moment we were approached by a diner who asked when she was going to be served - she said she'd been waiting for nearly two hours and only had starters.... so clearly, we left.Seems unlikely we'll be back in a hurry.

Want authentic Thai food when in Norwich. This is the place to go, even if you want a snack.

It's not a bad restaurant. You can choose your Thai meal and then one of the five different meat they normally serve with. The only pity is the lack of desserts - not much variety

I spent a long time before visiting Norwich looking on the internet for a good place to eat. I decided to wait until I arrived before looking around and making a finale decision. I seen this place, it was clean looked friendly and well presented. Thankfully they had a table avalible. The food was delicious, the service fast, pleasent and reliable, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed and the value for money exceptional. I'll go back if ever agian in Norwich. Highly recomended.

I only had a starter, the chicken satay, and due to a communication issue I ended up with two portions. However they were only three pounds each. This was excellent value as they were really good and beautifully presented. Recommended.

Great restaurant, food is delicious & good value

Fantastic evening meal. As always, the service was courteous, friendly and prompt. I have a gluten-free requirement because of a severe wheat allergy, so I always take my own (Japanese) soya sauce - which the chef is very happy to use. Along with Umberto's in St Benedict's, it's the best place to eat in Norwich by far. The food is superbly Thai. Thank you.

The food was nice, however we had to wait over two hours before we got our main course. We were a group of 11 and our visit was over the Christmas holidays and they appeared to be very understaffed with only one person waiting tables, although the restaurant was not too busy. The lady serving us was apologetic and polite and did not charge a service charge due to the inconvenience it caused us. It is quite likely that on our visit to the restaurant we did not receive the level of service that would normally be delivered by the Sugar hut.

3D menu a total plus! Ace food and friendly service. Good vegetarian selection (except the oyster sauce!). Although the hostess did remember to check if I would eat prawns before offering prawn crackers. Would recommend.

Always go when I am in Norwich - Amazing food - a little pricey but in my opinion - definately worth it.

Service shocking. Waited 30 minutes after ordering drinks to get them. Theres only so many false smiles you can put up with. When the food arrived first mouthfuls tasted like Iceland microwaved food. When we refused to eat it , but said we would pay for the drinks and leave. We were then threatened with the police. I am only comparing our usual thai restaurant ' thai lanna' which is amazing , compared to thai kittie where I wouldn't even allow my cat to eat.

Me and my wife are regulars to this restaurant and have been many times over the years. The restaurant is small and quirky ideal for couples, fantastic food and service.

We had a great evening here with friends who were coincided the kale was sea weed but agreed on everything else. Like the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was lovely. Loved the flowers that turned out to be vegetables. How long does that all take? The attention to detail was appreciated by all of us. Thank you.

Just had some delivery from Thai Kitti, the food was absolutely appalling, no flavour to it at all. Plus, it looked more like a cheap chinese rather than Thai. To top up, it was way too expensive, definitely not worth it!

Así que no culpándolos por todo. Sin embargo, esto sólo se sienta como una ciudad típica tailandesa, nada realmente sentí que auténtico, la comida estaba bien, pero no me hace ir "wow". Nos encantaría volver otra vez si se les invita, sin embargo la próxima vez estoy que quiera un tailandés en Norwich, probablemente en otro lugar. Pero el estrés nada realmente malo en este lugar.

El viaje de Sugar Hut fue una forma espontánea a pie en reserva con dos amigos. Pedimos una amplia variedad de platos, incluyendo vuestro indomable curry verde, arroz pegajoso, un plato de fideos y un plato de pescado. El ambiente era bien y bastante concurrido. Yo no diría que la comida era normal, pero tampoco es muy bueno. Yo diría que es "bueno", como 3.5 estrellas según el sistema Trip Advisor. He encontrado una comida tailandesa difícil de encontrar recientemente. No quiero comida tailandesa a convertido en comida china, donde todo se vuelve el mismo dondequiera que vaya. Pero una vez dicho todo esto, yo realmente no tengo nada malo que decir sobre nuestra comida allí, sólo que no era tan memorable en términos de un plato que me "impresionado. Pero que podría ocurrir la próxima vez ...

Un bonito y pequeño lugar. Poco frío y un poco como lunching en frente de alguien pero eso no es nada malo ... Bueno estaba bien - un tomate picante como el demonio Yam (aclarara mis pipas) y una ordenada pollo dulce y amarga. Tranquilo de poco a la hora del almuerzo pero eso es Norwich para ser sincero - mejor por las noches en la mayoría de los lugares, no hay exceso de lunching de negocios ya que hay en Londres.

We had a delicious veggie lunch this week. We have been many times in the past but not for some years and the veggie dishes were as good as when we last went and was good value at lunch.

Had lunch here on a Saturday. Well decorated and pleasing little restaurant. Staff friendly, attentive and polite, super Thai dishes on offer at a reasonable price. Singha and Tiger beers too. Excellent food well presented.

Estoy absolutamente indignado que he sido un cliente regular a sus más de 30 veces de restaurante. Alguien nos trajo vales de regalo como regalo de boda y llamo a esta tarde a utilizarlas y decir que no son válidas porque la empresa ha cambiado de dueño!! comercio aún bajo el mismo nombre y la misma marca! Me han informado que no están dispuestos como un gesto de buena voluntad para honrar a estos bonos o incluso llegar a un compromiso. Decir que no estás dispuesto a poner el dinero hacia adelante para permitir el uso los bonos, pero aún así estás bastante contentos para nosotros a perder 60 libras en una cena muy ansiosos de. Espero con interés su respuesta.

Me pasó por el almuerzo Express mientras que en un viaje de negocios en Norwich y disfruté de mi almuerzo. Me tuvieron pasteles de maíz para comenzar y curry verde para las principales, tanto no me decepcionó. El curry era muy sabrosa, probablemente el mejor que he tenido en mucho tiempo. El servicio era amable y discreto. La única pega era que estaba frío en el restaurante, muy fría. Pero luego me estaba en un período de tiempo tan corto que no nos importó demasiado. Supongo que me había venido más tarde habría sido más caliente. Me gustaría volver aquí

When we arrived the restaurant was empty, and the girl showed us to a table by the window and switched on an electric blow heater.... I don't think there had been any heating on all the rest of the day.... I couldn't feel any heat coming out of the heater either! Luckily it as not too cold outside, so we ordered and the food was delivered with a friendly service and quite fast. The food was nice and tasty although we were rather put off at the number of times we heard the microwave being used!Restaurants like this need to realise that eating out is something special and people will not visit cold establishments, they would rather stay at home! - Make it warm and cosy and you will get better reviews and more customers. Its worth spending that little extra on electricity!

Visited the Sugar Hut last night after a trip to the cinema. Although not very busy the welcome was friendly and the menu was comprehensive. Our starters were good in size and very tasty and the main course did not disappoint. We chose a classic thai red curry and a less well known dish - both of which were beautifully spiced, piping hot and good value for money. The wine was also very good. We will definitely be returning - thank you for a lovely meal and very good service. Please visit this restaurant - it is well worth it.

This is a small family run restaurant. Bright airy interior with traditional Thai decor. I had thecreasobably priced lunch menu and chose chicken satay and pad this noodles. Beautifully presented and delicious with attentive service. Very enjoyable

Lunched here today. The menu is extensive and mouth-watering. I ate from the fixed price set lunches, which have a good range of options, are tasty and well presented. Started with a chicken satay followed by beef red curry with steamed rice. Delicious. The ambience is airy and light and the staff attentive and discreet. It is a welcome oasis of Thai hospitality and charm, just off the main drag of London Street. After such a wonderful lunch one leaves smiling and looking forward to the next opportunity to visit.

Nice little place and staff very attentive, food is ok the usual Thai offerings, worth a visit if you fancy a cosy meal but gets noisy if large parties are booked in as quite small.

I really liked this place. Have been here before but first time reviewing. Out for drinks wit friends and felt a but hungry later on. We had just mains and all food was tasty and quickly served. Waitress very good and we were happy with everything.

I, and two friends, went to the sugar hut on Friday 3rd July. The starters were scant and overpriced, my duck main was tough and the desserts were frozen solid. Our complaints were met with a sweet smile and nod of agreement, but we were charge full price.There were very few diners for a Friday night, therefore the atmosphere was lacking.

We visited early evening/mid week.The restaurant looks good from the outside and the interior is also pleasant.Thai restaurant staff are generally very pleasant and polite.This apples here but only just.The menu is not that ambitious and whilst the food could not be faulted it was not anything for special.For example I ordered the "WEEPING TIGER".This restaurant opts to serve the dish with Rump Steak on a normal plate whereas the norm is Sirloin seved on a "sizzler".The staek was coked well but there was little else to make this special meal stand out.My wife's

Wandered here accidentally after the original dinner plan fell through and was a little wary as there were no other customers (and weren't any more all the time we were there), but we love Thai food, so decided to give it a try.Service was friendly (well, they weren't busy) and atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. Loved the choice on the menu, but ended up opting for the Golden Shower Prawns and the Duck in sauce with egg fried rice.The food was hearty and portions were generous. Not the most refined Thai meal I've had, but tasty all the same and very satisfying. Tastes were homely and authentic and loved the sauces accompanying the prawns, which were a tad oily and overbattered but more than made up for by the quality of the prawns themselves. (I just pulled some of the batter off in the end.) My veggie colleague had spring rolls and a tofu curry and was very pleased with her meal too.Lovely food and definitely one for the list on our next trip to the town.

I popped in for lunch on a Thursday and it was relatively quiet but had never been so wanted to give it a try as I love Thai food.I went for the set Lunch Menu F which consisted of Vegetable Spring Rolls, Steamed Rice, and Vegetables with Cashew Nuts for £8.50Service was very polite but as I said was quiet so would have been disappointed if not.Food was served quickly and boy was I pleased. It all came served on a three split plate and was absolutely brilliant. The rice was really flavourful and it was lovely served alongside the veg. The flavours of the Veg and Cashew Nuts were so good.The spring rolls were ok, but I guess a spring roll is a spring roll. The main was outstanding though.

We had a delicious meal here on Saturday night. We hadn't a Thai meal for ages and weren't disappointed! The service was good and friendly, and the food beautifully cooked and so tasty. We were only visiting for the weekend otherwise I'd be tempted to go straight back again!

Went to go to Namaste next door but found it was closed on Mondays so ended up here - very happy with the wonderful lunch time meal we ha. Delicious flavours and the service was excellent. Very reasonable lunch time prices and will return again. Highly recommended.

My partner and I had dinner here with two friends on Thursday evening. We ordered the set meal for four. There was an excellent variety of dishes, all of them with delicious flavours. The service was efficient and attentive. If I have a criticism it is that the restaurant lacks atmosphere, but this is compensated for by the quality of the food.

Right next to all the Castle Meadow bus stops and close to the heart of the city, this is ideally situated. Clean and bright inside, with plenty of seating. I opted for the two course set lunch (A) priced at £8.95, though there are a good number of different set options.Bags of gold, with two different dipping sauces and beef in oyster sauce with egg fried rice as a main - interestingly, though everything came on the one plate, rather than as two separate courses, turning it into more of a 'tapas' affair - which I have / had no problem with. Delicious {an extra 'bag of gold' wouldn't have gone amiss ;) } and good value.The house Sauvignon Blanc was fine and averagely priced (£4.25 per 175 ml)A good experience - 7.5 out of 10 in my reckoning.

We actually intended to eat at the Indian restaurant next door bust they were closed on a Monday so went into SugarHut because their menu looked ok and it was convenient on a cold day. There were a few tables eating lunch but the restaurant was cold and not very inviting but we ordered from the lunch menu and were both happy with our food. For starter we had chicken satay which was hot and well presented. I had green curry for main and my partner ordered hot and spicy pork. The portions weren't big but the dishes were delicious and very good value

I dined with a friend at The SugarHut this Wednesday. Having been a frequent visitor prior to the change in management I was keen to see if the food lived up to its previous high standards.I was disappointed from the outset that two of my favourite dishes were no longer on the menu (Crab Rice and Panang Neur) but with plenty of other choices we made our selection. They also no longer gave us free Thai Crackers when we arrived and as I was really hungry I was disappointed.It started well with the mixed starter, efficiently served, tasty and with a great selection of dipping sauces. Unfortunately after that it all went a bit downhill…….The chicken green curry was bland – there looked like there was chilli in it but it was definitely not spicy. The duck in our Duck with Cashews was fatty and chewy. The sticky rice was definitely sticky, in fact so sticky it came out of the steamer in one lump and to separate it we had to carve it with a knife and no about of sauce was going to separate it.Overall highly disappointed - I will be looking for a new favourite Thai in the city!

We last visited some years ago when the place was full and buzzing. We were there on Saturday with friends and slightly concerned after having read the more recent reviews..change of owners, empty restaurant etc. We needn't have worried!The food was first class. Intensely flavoured and cooked perfectly. Service was efficient and friendly. Decor is a little more formal and the prices reflect the higher food quality, Definitely worth a visit.

We went to The Sugar Hut for Valentines as this is a special place to us. Instantly we knew something had changed as there was no special greeting as we entered the restaurant as normal and the menus had changed. We requested a table upstairs and what a mistake. Drinks were ordered and the wrong wine turned up, this was then corrected. At the same time we had asked for water and this never arrived. We asked again and still no water. Starter arrived and was lovely. Main courses turned up and the pork was cold in places and the rest was luke warm but it was served on a cold plate so not much hope in staying hot. We finished our main course and waited and waited and waited for someone to come and clear our table but no one did. After about 30 minutes we went downstairs to ask if there was a dessert menu and to get more water as we had had no drinks for about 20 minutes. As I went down to place the order, as again no one came to us a waitress came back up the stairs. She took our order and offered us coffee. I requested decaf coffee. Dessert arrives followed by black coffee, we were then asked if we wanted milk at whic h point I checked that my coffee was decaf and the waitress decided that she had given my partner the decaf so I actually left my coffee as she seemed so unsure. Finished desert and coffee and sat a bit longer until we went downstairs to ask for the bill. All in all not the Sugar Hut of old and we won't be going back. Didn't complain at the time because don't think anyone would of cared anyway. Such a shame this restaurant has changed hands and that it didn't change its name at the same time because it was far from being the Sugar Hut of old.

Great authentic Thai food! Really enjoyed my visit and plenty of vegan options too! Would definitely dine there again for the food and the hospitality!

We had never eaten here before but one of my colleagues at work has said on many occasions that this was his favourite restaurant in the City. We decided to give it a try & arrived there at 7,30pm on a Saturday evening. It should have been a clue as the place was virtually empty but we decided (wrongly) to give it a try as we had booked. First of all the table cloth was dirty and had to be changed, so not a good start. Secondly and it's not a big thing but all the staff were dressed in Western clothes & there was no atmosphere whatsoever. We ordered starters which when they arrived were bland, uninspiring & served on cold plates. The main course was much the same as the starter but they did bring us warm plates to eat off. However the food had been served on cold plates in the kitchen, so it was only lukewarm when we received it and there were no heaters on the table. We told the staff that we were not happy with our experience but they were totally disinterested. We paid the bill and left. I note from other reviews that this place is under new management. With empty tables on a Saturday evening & serving poor quality food, I can't see it lasting for much longer. However we will not be returning here.

When we arrived on Monday we were a little nervous about the very obvious changes to this old favourite. Turns out the daughter took over about 3 months ago apparently. Gone the beautiful carved menu covers, gone the banana-holding elephant on the bar. New table linen in gold and purple suits the place just right though, and the new staff were friendly and efficient.The food quality didn't disappoint - mixed starter probably better than we remembered, and the pad thai was really tasty.2 small things: they didn't have a second bottle of the wine we were enjoying, but at least the waitress knew it and advised us straightaway. Also when we were nearly finished all the kitchen staff came and loitered around the bar, which made us feel a bit rushed at the end.The bill was a nice surprise - probably 10% cheaper than other places we enjoy.

We had not been for several months, and were walking passed and the restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were shocked to see it was nearly empty. This was a Friday evening which we thought was a little odd. The place has had a bit of a makeover. Unfortunately the food and staff have deteriated.The food was very bland; the staff only takes food orders by numbers on the menu.The authentic Thai dress has gone, as has my favourite crab rice. We will not be returning here.

We went on Saturday with friends from London who have always wanted to go there when in Norwich, but we will not be rushing back. The starters were nice but all of our mains had to be sent back as they were only luke warn, I know this can happen but the staff did not seem bothered or interested. The place has changed hand, new menu and the traditional Thai dress has gone. It is no longer the eating experience which has taken us back on many occasions
