Evergreen in Norwich

I've been going here very occasionally for years now if I happen to be home late and not have time to cook. Food is good enough, staff are friendly, and I've never had to wait long at all - although I do usually only order 1 or 2 dishes per visit. Prices seem on par or very slightly cheaper than other options in area. No problems at all.

Had a sweet and sour cantoneese style chicken with chicken fried rice, and thats been awful. Sweet and sour has a weird taste, chicken seems a bit dates and rice were mixture of dry rice, some diced chicken bits and some veggies, not great. Would not recommend

Awful food, previously frozen, not able to eat … never again

Overcooked, taste worst than microwave ready meals. Ordered spicy beef- received some deep fried crust strips in sweet sauce! ( the same sauce as my wife ordered- coincidentally). When called with complaint- I was told- that’s how we cook spicy 🥵. Not fresh at all! Not worth buying. Highly not recommended

Best chinese had in years had salt pepper chicken,beef chow mien,S&S chicken Hong-Kong style,prawn curry,special fried rice..wont go anywhere else...thankyou..

While in the shop placing my order the shop phone rang, so my order was abandoned and the customer on the phone took priority, and it went on and on, then repeating the order because the person ordering didn't agree with the price, finally the call finished, my order regained attention, i wanted two different things from the menu, because the phone order was a big order they got mine cooked quickly, too quickly, and it was rubbish as a result, I'm sick to death of being thrown to one side in this place because of phone orders, I've also been short changed a couple of times but kept quiet as i didn't notice until i got home, the food has gone down hill fast, bland and small meat content, i think i will go elsewhere from now on.

I'm so sad to be giving a one star but when times are tight I just don't think you can ever justify bad food anymore!! The duck was not shredded it was fat lumps that were cold, satay chicken was honestly like watery gravy and the sauces were watered down. Chips were frozen crinkle chips. The sweet an sour balls were lovely though. And on top of some very disappointing food, most of which we threw out, we both have bad tummy's! I won't be ordering from here again.

I got a takeaway here few weeks ago and it was lovely proper chicken breat..last night awful chewy chicken defo thigh.Very dissapointed.

Absolutely disgusting. Dry overcooked meat like leather, soggy chicken balls, others burnt. Soggy cold chips that had more green and black bits than good. The whole lot went in the bin.

What can I say? Nice delicious food and right portions (House Special Fried Rice, Roasted duck in orange source, chicken sweet corns soup), if I came to Norwich again next time, I’ll definitely go back there again 😋

This used to be my main place for Chinese but for some reason the food has gone downhill. Not sure if its change in management or chefs but rarely order from here.

Probably one of the best Chinese take away's I have ever eaten from! In fact I was kinda shocked that I hadn't already reviewed them when I used to live in the area previously Oh well better later than never! Food is always fresh and tasty staff are polite and speedy service! Main issue is that since the Council stupidly put in a 24/7 Buss lane right next to them (especially dumb as no Busses run much after 6-7!!) It can be hard to park nearby. So try online and for delivery maybe? Me.. i'll still drive down and wait as the food is worth it when we feel like a Chinese! Even if I have to park a little further away than before.

I have great respect for Evergreen’s Thai menu. Decided tonight to have a change and have a Chinese meal from them instead. Really horrid. So much MSG in my sweet and sour prawns I had to dump it. Won’t risk a £13 bill for two very disappointing courses again. Sorry.

Wow, I cannot believe some of the comments about Evergreen. Our meal was really nice. Lots of fresh vegetables, the crispy seaweed was simply the best. Fresh clean flavours. The best Chinese we have had in a long time. We will certainly be using again. A takeaway we will be recommending to friends.

The best Chinese in Norwich!! Hats off to the chef food is always cooked through and piping hot when delivered, the drivers are polite. I've never been disappointed. Oh Thank you for the cheese and mushroom parcels they were delicious! ; )

El chow mein de ternera era literalmente ternera y fideos. Los boodles estaban demasiado cocidos y congelados, había cuatro trozos de carne y eso fue todo, sin cebollas; brotes de soja, etc. Las bolas de gambas estaban tibias y empapadas, una pérdida de 24. ¡No lo recomiendo!

Lovely food as always but tonight it was out of this world, this is our best Chinese go to, never dissapoints, Hats off to the chef/s. And as always very friendly delivery driver too!! We will be back.

We ordered a takeaway tonight and was told there was an hour wait, that was fine but after an hour we telephoned to see where the order was, it turned up after another half an hour. Do they not understand allergies , we ordered a chicken curry hot WITHOUT peas and it arrived full of peas!!! It all went in the bin. NOT GOOD ENOUGH

no... not good enough for me - the sauce was greasy and the Egg Fu Yong was really dry - shame as I was hoping this was the Chinese I have been searching for. Just have to keep looking I guess.

Good service doesn't quite make up for the mediocre food. Crispy chilli beef was an odd luminous red and lacked any chilli heat, albeit it was at least crispy. King prawn rice was greasy but ok flavoured. The chicken in the thai red curry felt and tasted like it was reformed or from a packet and the curry lacked flavour Never nice to leave a bad review but Take Thai or the Thailand are better at the time of review

Great for Chinese food, I have tried a few restaurants locally and this is my go to place.

Let’s start of with the service. The young man and lady that work there are awesome, super friendly and kind. They’ve given us plenty of free food and free upgrades to their “large” option which they didn’t have to do. For £30 you could feed a family of 5, it’s cheap and the portions are huge. Their food is amazing too, I can say with confidence that they are the best takeaway in Norfolk by far and we won’t be finding another one for a long time. It’s 100% worth the 1 hour drive for it each time. Awesome food, awesome people and awesome service!

nice old take away this, little bit of a waiting time but good the food makes up for it. always spot on service in person or by phone. a well deserved 5 stars from chunk.

Ordered a meal and when the food arrived it was cold and had to be microwaved to be eaten. The meal was delivered, we are 5 minutes drive away. They were over 10 minutes late. I contacted the takeaway and the woman on the phone was rude and offered a 10% discount for the future- due to her rudeness and the meals being cold I felt this an insult I asked to speak to the manager and she told me that the manager couldn’t speak a word of English and put the phone down hence to say we will not be ordering from them in the future

Huge menu to pick from. Order on big foodie and receive 10% off order. Recommend the crispy chow mein with chicken and pork slices,which comes smothered in BBQ sauce. Sweet and sour pork balls- best I have ever had.Reasonable prices. Delivery cost.

Great food and delivery service love the Thai green curry and coconut rice. Always my go to Chinese. very friendly staff and easy to deal with when something is wrong,the noodles are amazing and there deep-fried food is nearly always crispy and not alot of grease.

This is a small Chinese takeaway north of the city, the premises are very clean and the staff are very helpful The food is always piping hot weather collecting or having it delivered. the portions are very generous and the price is very reasonable. The menu is very comprehensible you also have the the option to choose Thai meals. I highly recommend the evergreen because of its great customer services high quality food and very fast delivery

The chicken was awful it was almost like it was full of water when you bit into it. The Thai green curry was not nice either and the first time I have had celery in my green curry which was not a nice addictive at all.. I could eat the curry which is very disappointing when it is my favourite meal

Pad Thai tasted like something u would find in your sink after washing dirty dishes and letting the water out. It was foul and expensive. The 'tempura' prawns were covered in a batter about 1.5 cm thick! So not tempura at all. The chicken dish we ordered was okay but there was hardly any chicken! Will not order from here again. Food quality very poor and price high!

Really lovely satay sauce, unfortunately the tofu was really over done. every thing else was very good though.

I always order the same, it's always delicious. Pad Thai can be spicy or not, depending on how you like it. I like mine spicy. Well worth trying if you've not before.

Despite being a long term customer who's order is on adveragecof £30 I'm disappointed that when I complained about the quality of food from my last order I was basically told that I was lieing and they find it hard to belive.. the food used to taste good but lately it's re-fried or heated up. Tasteless and not worth the money. Avoid!
