Place is gonna be shut down with in months if you turn away customers at 20.30 when you shut at 21.00. Wouldn't of minded but the young employee spoke to me like dirt soon a I walked through door. "WE ARE CLOSED AND ITS MY DISCRETION" pointed out door was open and closing is at 21.00 asked if he was manager and he soon changed his tone to "you can have a cold sandwich". Too late you dont deserve my money. Went across road instead to try the new chicken place and it was banging so in a way your employee did me a favour.

Walking into this Subway, I was immediately greeted by a scene that felt like it had been pulled straight from a horror movie – and not in a good way. The place was empty, except for one lonely employee, an old lady with a permanent scowl etched onto her face. Her uniform looked like it had been through the Spanish Inquisition, and she moved at the speed of a glacier. It was like watching time itself slow down every time she turned her head. I made the fatal mistake of ordering a churro. “25 seconds,” she said. I thought, “Great, this will be quick.” Little did I know that her sense of time was based on some ancient, forgotten calendar system. Fifteen minutes later (yes, fifteen), she handed me what could only be described as the saddest excuse for a churro I have ever seen in my life. This was no churro—it was a limp, cold footlong disaster that seemed to have come straight out of the freezer and into my hands. If they gave awards for the world’s worst churros, this one would take home the gold. It was as if they’d taken an already mediocre snack and somehow made it worse by stretching it out into a ridiculous shape, just to torment me even further. And don’t get me started on the taste. Biting into it was like chewing on disappointment, seasoned with neglect. I actually wondered if the churro had been made back in the ’70s and just thawed out for me. The fact that the shop was empty should have been my first warning sign, but my foolish optimism led me here. Moral of the story? Never trust a churro from a Subway where the employee looks like she’s trapped in a time warp. The only thing footlong about this churro was the regret I had for ever walking through that door. Avoid at all costs.

Worst Subway I’ve ever had. Avoid this place like the plague. There’s so much competition in York they need to up their game; no wonder the place was empty. The lady behind the counter was really rude, no customer service skills. The sandwich, which I always order, at other Subways was extremely below par. I asked for it toasted with melted cheese and it was stone cold… The sandwich was just slapped together. Not the standard of any other Subway I’ve ever had anywhere. Seriously disappointed ☹️

hello, I'm one of the drivers of just eat....I want to say that you have the most personal root of all...I waited 40 minutes to pick up an order that should have been ready at the time of arrival...the deliveries are ignored they speak badly to the drivers and do not respect us... the staff should understand that we drivers represent a customer who is waiting at home for his food to be delivered... the manager did not want to tell me my name so that I could not make a complaint, but this it happened at 1pm on 29/07/2024 maybe someone will take action

I wouldn't ordinarily review a subway - we all know what they are like. But the staff here are so frosty, bordering on aggressive that it was an unpleasant experience. Tried the waffle fries for the first time - a squidgy, squishy mess. Horrible. In fairness, the sandwich itself was decent.

**Subway, York - Absolutely Terrible!** I recently had the misfortune of stepping into the Subway in York, and let me tell you, it was a nightmare from start to finish. The old hag working behind the counter was an absolute disgrace. She had zero manners and seemed to enjoy shouting at customers for no reason. It felt like I had walked into a war zone instead of a sandwich shop. The sandwiches were a complete joke. Soggy, lifeless, and thrown together with zero effort. It was like the staff didn’t give a damn about what they were serving. Every bite was a slimy, disgusting mess that made me regret even walking through the door. And don’t even get me started on the wait times. It took forever to get my order, even though there were barely any other customers. Clearly, these clowns have no idea how to run a business efficiently. Avoid this Subway like the plague. Rude staff, gross food, and endless waits – it’s not worth your time or money.

Usually I never write bad reviews but as we felt that mistreatment we don’t want other to experience that level of disrespect we endured this afternoon. The Lady at the counter was very rude and practically shouted at us. We tried to be understandable as there was numerous deliveries being prepared however we got zero consideration back. I usually like subways however the subway we got was very soggy to the point it was decaying and the other half of foot long was very dry as the lady was not very considerate and shut us down at every attempt of communication. The point if this review is not to get anyone fired but state the mistreatment we endured.

Rude staff, absolutely shambolic in store experience. Food tasted ok - standard subway but ruined by the vibe in store and terrible staff. Workers seem miserable. The girl who served me didn't greet me, just barked questions at me "white or brown" , "6inch or foot long". Talking to me like I was inconveniencing her by ordering. When the food was done she just slung it on the counter with a "here you go". Food was ok, hot but bread was slightly soggy on the inside and more cheese than the other fillings.

It's been years since I last went into a Subway and I did not know what to expect on my first visit the other day. Theresa provided excellent five star service, she was extremely accommodating and patient with me. I loved the attention to detail in preparing my gigantic yummy salad and choosing the right dressing. Many thanks to Theresa and your lovely Team, I genuinely can't wait to go back for more. What's the point of having a offer that you cannot use? Received offer £3.99 for a footlong. Checked participating stores blossom street subway was on the list and that's my usual one i use. Manager said she's text owner of shop but they haven't updated so there's nothing she can do. She also said not all are participating but as stated when you check stores this one is. Won't be going back anytime soon. Will go elsewhere. Service nil. Communication nil. OMG another dissapointment friday 22nd march 2023.Went in tonight at 9.45pm old guy says sorry where closed sign on door says 10pm and on website 10pm. Nowhere does it say 9.45pm. Most frustrating, annoying when ya just want a subway. Grrrr.

If I could give this store zero stars I would. Don’t think ive ever been in a subway that prioritises online orders so much. Honestly it’s like you’re invisible in this store. Just keep smashing out online orders and ignoring anyone in the shop. Then refused to simply remove 1 item and replace it with another. Walked out with nothing after ten minutes waiting with none else in the store. Went to Kfc and got served with what I wanted in about 1 minute.

The last 2 times I’ve ordered from here my wrap has arrived warmed up (so is soggy when I open it) when I’ve indicated that I DO NOT want it to be grilled. Several times they’ve left cookies off the order too. Honestly, 75% of the time my 2-person order arrives wrong.

The staff were rude to my husband multiple times and each time we were giving them the benefit of the doubt. It's a shame because we used to be frequent customers. Today was the worst as the staff woman was shouting on my husband to order from outside the shop without explaining what she meant by that and when he wanted to understand what she meant, she kept shouting on him to order outside which is very rude. When he asked her to be kinder to him as a customer, she clearly didn’t care. We are never ordering from subway again

Walked in on my lunch break and stood at the counter, i waitied for 7 minutes with two other random customers who walked in just after myself. The staff members there did not say a word to any of us or even acknowledge us, no "we will just be a mo" they just talked to themselves. Me and some of the other random customers ended up walking out and going to KFC over the road which took around 6 minutes from ordering the food to getting it and we were greeted. I really do not recommend this subway, not all subways, just this one.

The staff were rude and unfriendly. The younger guy complained to his coworker about me arriving when he wanted to leave for a break or something. Some people shouldn't work in customer service and he's one of them. His older co-worker asked me if I was okay and I said I'm fine. I honestly thought he was going to tell me to smile at one point. The only reason I ordered subway from here on just eat is cause it's the only one that shows up. The food from there is never good, it's made sloppy and as for toasting there sandwiches it's almost like they dont even try and I always have to toast them myself before eating them. Dont get me wrong, once I've toasted it correctly it tastes great but they have poor service. I recommend avoiding subway on blossom street and make the extra little journey to the one on stonebow instead.

Would give ZERO stars if I could. First time as a family we’ve had subway! Never again! Ordered through just eat. No issue with just eat as the delivery was fine, the food thought.. appalling! We paid £32 for 4 subs, hash browns and drinks. Subs were thrown together, missing cheese and extra cheese also on one of them! Was basically meat and dry bread. Ham slices were discoloured round the edges and stale, so went in the bin. I basically had to strip the sandwiches and remake them, adding our own cheese and grilling them as guess what... that hadn’t been done either like we requested. Also there was a drink missing from our order. Absolute rubbish. Have heard so many good things about subway over the years, but I’m no way ever going to pay over £7 for a slapped together, stale, dry, half made sandwich again. This place gives the subway brand a bad name! 0/5

Incredibly rude staff. Waited 10 minutes for a veggie sub only to be told they don't have any (this was at 1pm). Then the staff member starts shouting 'you should've said when you came in that you wanted one' - it isn't exactly a special made-to-order sandwich, it's one of the main menu items. Then the staff member starts shouting about how she's on her own and doesn't have time to unpack the deliveries. Really weird. She was obviously stressed out but don't take it out on your customers.

Always the same food at subway, large sandwiches on rolls either 6inch or 12inch (how did they bypass the rules that retail items had to be displayed in metric). Lots of choice of fillings which are tightly packed into the roll and subsequently overspill its juicy contents when the wrapping is opened. Reasonably priced with combo offers of drinks and crisps & cookies available to buy as a set meal or separately. Seating is available but not restaurant standard generally, just a plain area for eating your sloppy sandwich.

I happened to be in York for business and was looking for a quick bite to eat and subway being subway I thought what could go wrong ? Firstly no tomatoes and very limited selection of breads and other veg. secondly the girl on duty told me she could not accept Scottish £20 notes (we are not independent YET) Staff need more training to actually be at the counter when customers are in and to ensure they have the stock required to provide a reasonable service.

I am a huge Subway fan, but sadly this one is not a good example. This review is based on 3 visits over the space of a few months, so not a single bad experience. Staff are ok, but I on all three visits (all midday to mid afternoon), there have been stock issues - at least 1 filling not being available on each occasion, no cutlery for salad bowls once, some sauces not available - including mayonnaise!. They also don't do the chicken teriyaki properly- instead of having it pre-prepared, so the sauce actually flavours the chicken, they just plonk a dollop of the teriyaki mix on the standard roast chicken, which is then much too strong - not actively unpleasant but not tasty - and still charge the premium price for it! Will definitely not be going to this Subway again!

Guy was on his own on a heaving Saturday afternoon. He was working so fast it was a blur but super friendly and heard every detail of all the orders. This guy was an absolute credit to Subway - you should put him on double time!

Staff where superb. very welcoming. Very polite. Especially the woman on the morning shift she was as mad as a box of frog, made us laugh, fantastic at her job. Think she needs a pay rise. Xxx

We love subway but because KFC across the road were closed to their infamous non delivery issues the local kids had to choose a healthier option and descended upon subway leaving them short of veg by 6pm so our order was reduced to just cucumber and lettuce which was disappointing but the staffwere very apologetic. My wife was going to get breakfast the next morning but the only staff member was outside smoking so my wife didnt feel like being served by that person so maybe best for staff to do this out of sight of potential customers.

Food was decent but the meatballs were a little dry possibly due to not being cooked earlier in the day staff was friendly

Myself and 3 friends into this subway at around 9am on a Saturday morning. We then sat down and waited for 5 minutes trying to see any staff. We saw a bell so started ringing it to no effect. Continued to wait another 5 minutes to see still no sign of life. We then rang the bell again hoping for some form of service. Whilst waiting we noticed the meat and salad had been open, being able to air in the warm environment and open without a hint of covering. Finally after around 10/12 mins the employee arrived down the stairs. He then proceeded to shout at us saying ‘ringing the bell won’t make me come any quicker, I have bread to sort out that is more important than you’ which made a regular subway customer feel severely undervalued. I’ve been to many places up and down the United Kingdom and by far this is the worst service I’ve ever received. Give this subway a wide birth!

It is what it is you don't expect amazing food it's just something to fill the void, but the lying system they run with there self service screens when as soon as a certain amout of time has lapsed they assign it to collect your order even when it's not ready is a little deceitful in my opinion. They have done all these adverts saying the food will be warmer and tastier how about just make them look how you're advertising them, I'm going to get to the point that if my burger doesn't look like the picture on the menu it will be going back for looking like q dogs dinner. Service is shocking the new way of serving is meant to stream line things all they've done is reduce staffing costs and create their own bottle neck. Highly recommend not going to McDonald's when you see more than 15 orders on the screen or you'll be waiting alot long than 20 mins for your food. McDonald's head office really should be doing more to audit these stores, thurs evening I really wouldn't say is a peak period. The recruitment team for this store should be sacked.
