Mcdonald's Restaurant in York

Don't want to rag on the low paid, but if I place an order, the label is printed off, then at it should match. Could do a lot better.

In a busy outlet shopping mall and stopped in for breakfast. Never had a McDonalds breakfast roll before. Not as good as a full English but would have one again. Tasty, filled me up, and the coffee was good as well. Will call in again sometime.

Typical fast food outlet, reasonable selection of vegan and vegetarian food.

Just your average McDonald's! Does have a longer wait because it was so busy, but the self ordering kiosks were plentiful so we could get ordered quickly. The order was correct, I did have to ask specifically for Milk for the tea though. The food was warm and the fries were good. Definitely not the best McDonald's fries and could definitely do with more salt but not the worst either! While we went there were "Winning Sips" competitions where each drink resulted in the opportunity to win prizes, which was very fun! Not sure if we were just lucky but felt like we won quite a few prizes! Most notably £5 which was very good!

Normal standard for an egg mcmuffin

Food was ordered via deliveroo. It arrived cold and disappointing. I contacted deliveroo and they agreed to compensate.

Very quick and easy. Got a breakfast deal . Nice and hot

Great little mcdonalds, everyone was friendly,fast service and this one has great chips and the mcnuggets were perfectly cooked .

Tables were cleaned regularly and floors swept but there was a large queue for the meal to arrive as there was no table service.

Ok place plenty of seating food served as quickly as the staff can

Thursday afternoon 19th October when we visited this branch of McDonald's which is located in the Food Court of McArthur Glen Retail Park. Found it all rather impersonal, we queued up at a self-ordering screen where we ordered and paid for two flat whites and two cheese burgers. While one of us waited to collect our order the other one found somewhere to sit in this vast space which was virtually empty. When the order was ready it was handed over without the member of staff saying a word. Think that this is the first time that we have ordered, paid for and served food without a word been said. When served the burgers were tepid and the coffees were average, certainly not up to McDonald's normal quality coffee.

Designer centre very busy, don't usually eat there but I was hungry. The food was really good and the service was efficient.

Very poor quality not ev n warm fries were reheats and some of the menu unavailable as is usual

Visited last Friday, very busy it took ages from ordering to getting the food, my partner went elsewhere to eat , he got his food and pretty much ate it by the time we had even got ours, the server gave us one BBQ sauce between 3 of us and when I asked for more she didn't seem very happy and ended up throwing one onto the floor. Food was ok, apart from the mozzarella share box which tasted like they'd been left on the side for hours.

It's a maccies, does what it says on the tin, serve quickly

After lunch in Pizza Express and a walk round the Designer Outlet we decided to go to McDonalds for a McFlurry. It is years since I had been . Fortunately my son navigated the ordering and we had a lovely ice cream desert. Very good value for money.

Went here for breakfast, can't fault the food or drink. Very clean and modern branch. Only (slight) downfall was trying to find it in the retail park 🫤

Service is shocking, got to ask for milk n sweetener n wooden stir sticks, the reason/too many being taken!! (Pathetic).💩🤬

This was within a food court. Fast service. Usual well done food and clean. Can't go wrong usually with McDonald's.. clear indication of effective management and well trained staff.

Quick service and the Mcflurry is lovely and creamy!

I work at rituals in the designer outlet and ordered some food off the app however it said there was an issue on McDonald’s end and to give them a code when I got there unfortunately for the poor lad who was serving me nothing came up when he tried searching and so I was there for 10/15 minutes trying to connect to my 5G or a Wi-Fi network to see if I had been charged for the order. Service in the outlet is atrocious so I had no luck. Eventually we found my order and they told me it had been paid for and that everything was fine. I’m giving 5 stars because of the patience of the staff despite it being a horrible and busy Saturday and although the lad who was with me was serving customers in between me trying to connect to any Wi-Fi or 5G network, he didn’t leave me to try and work it out for myself and really tried his hardest to find the code the app had given me and to help me out. Thank you.

Not the best of food but it was filling basically its just a grab and eat in-between shopping. If I'd want good food I'd have gone to a restaurant. Will use again when I'm in a rush and hungry

It was very nice, food is always up to "there standard" but depending where you go a lot of the macdonalds restaurants are very un- hygienic.

What a terrible experience I just had. I ordered breakfast (a bacon roll) and the bread they gave me was mouldy. When I returned it the worker didn't say a word to me, no apology, no "I'll get that replaced for you" just gave me a dirty look and threw it in the bin asking for a new one. When they threw the new one in my hand, again without saying a word (despite ME thanking THEM for it) I realised they got the order wrong! These younger workers need to learn some manners.

Took over 29mins for order to be ready , other customers were getting there’s first , when ask about it , food was eventually slammed down , arrived cold , & was only a quarter of a cup of drink , don’t think staff fault , they was very stressed place is badly organised , won’t be recommending or visiting again

Google maps gave this as stop off, but it is inside the shopping centre and really just for those slready shopping there. The retail park is chaotic and was a poor stop off.

If we'd have read the reviews beforehand we wouldn't have ordered here. LONG wait for service despite ordering 'on screen'. Our order number was apparently duplicated with another person's drinks order, suggesting our order had been overlooked, so our waiting time consequently increased. Expressed dissatisfaction with the long wait & were given some lame excuse. Food eventually served (I estimate 10 mins+ waiting time - NOT acceptable at a 'fast food' outlet) & we again expressed our concerns to the totally indifferent server who did not even so much as apologise, but rather chose to ignore us. Yes, it was busy, but we despair at the manner in which young staff members seem incapable of simple communication & empathy with customers. If employees are unhappy with their jobs, maybe they should choose an alternative career. If that's not an option, at least carry out their duties with good grace. By the way, these are not 'insults' but facts. We are not frequent diners at McDonalds & only ever eat Filet-o-Fish & Fries (why do they always take longer to prepare than burgers? & why are there never 'special deals' with Filet? - Anyone else think the same as us?). The food when it eventually arrived was absolutely fine, but the experience in getting it was dire. This forum is bearing the brunt of our frustrations as there does not appear to be an easy way to raise a complaint direct with the Franchise or, indeed, via McDonalds - who simply refer people back to contact the Franchise. Sums it all up, really........

Typical McDonald's establishment small but very nice

It is inside the York designer outlet. My experience at this restaurant was good. You could order online via macdonald app or you can order using order screens there. We went on weekend but the waiting was not bad at all. We got the food within 3 mins of ordering. You can chose to pick up your order or get it delivered to your table. Most of the food items you would expect from the MacDonald were there. The staff were nice too They have got a plenty shared spaces to seat and eat. You can chose the area where you are comfortable. when we visited they had a lot of unoccupied chairs. After your shopping if you are looking to have a quick bite then you could go to MacDonald. It is on the first floor.

This was a very typical McDonald's at lunch time, only thing to note was that the self service screen did not give a receipt so I had to explain this to get my order.

Usual McDonald's, in a food Court. Great location.

Not the best experience again. The young gentleman who served us who I believe was shift manager, blonde hair and tall was very polite and friendly. We ordered lunch at the till the young gentleman served us. We waited and watched is wasn’t as busy as usual. After 10 mins we asked were our food was and they went to grab the bag that must of been sat there the whole ten minutes just about that we were waiting. They said our number had been called out, it hadn’t as we were stood right near the counter and our number was still on the board. We asked them to re do it and they didn’t seemed pleased, they said our number had been called and it hadn’t we were both listening out for it. They had only read 4 other numbers since we were stood there. Another girl said we called it 5 times. She wasn’t even the one who was calling them and she was to busy stood next to the warmer talking just moving the food a few centimetres after it had been passed to her. We don’t appreciate been spoken to like we are dumb! We were stood there listening out and watching everyone, again she was to busy talking so I don’t know we’re she got it had been called 5 times from. We asked for a refund, they didn’t seemed bothered. We weren’t going to pay for cold food, it was even sat on the warmer it was sat on the side. You definitely need more training and customer service management in this establishment. I can see from the comments people aren’t happy.

I do not take a trip in here often as I do not really get on with where it is located internally I have never really been a huge fan of they overall design that is Mc Donald's really sorry too say but there food there fries have high marks from me and coffees too.

Mediocre, it is what it is. I will say in recent years the prices have increased significantly but the food quality hasn’t. Burgers are so thin they have no chance of retaining heat. Ordering systems are good and easy to use and the food is fast.

Poor service and poor food. Very unhappy staff. No longer are McDonald's, York outlet, pleased to be of service. Needs a management shake-up.

I was ordered grilled chicken as I have to eat wheat free food, but was given breadcrumb chicken on my salad !!

No rush, no pressure to get the food out to customers, despite the queue for orders Staff too busy chatting amongst themselves.. The end result was cold food , but happy to say they dealt with the complaint expeditiously with a warmer replacement

It's a Macdonald's in a busy shopping area, very busy, no room to wait and food not that hot.

So slow, McDonald's used to be fast food, but now you have to wait 20 minutes at least for a basic burger meal.

Won't even give a rating for the food or service. Went 2 months ago & the burger was poor & the bacon undercooked but I gave it the benefit of the doubt & called again,This time they got the order wrong & the food was cold.They spent more time & effort service the delivery drivers & drive through than the customers in the restaurant. I won't give them a third chance.

Nice little McDonald's but great service and clean.

Service very fast despite it being very busy. Food; well it's MacDonald's. Burgers seem dry. Chicken burger tastes of nothing. Best are the fries and the milkshakes. This MacDonald's is at York's designer outlet do plenty of parking and seating in the designer centre.

Chaotic! Completely disorganised. Staff stood around not knowing what was going on. So many order mistakes. Our burgers came thrown together, 2 were cold and one was completely wrong. I think I would still be there if I had gone back to complain.

Everything was hot and fresh, the fries were crispy and the burger was really good. Definitely one of the better McDonalds I've been to.

A very busy restaurant but they are very quick with the orders. Best to find a table then use your app, the local Wi-Fi and internet is poor.
