Pizza Hut in York

We give a 3 for the food as it looked nice ,but it really wasn't as under cooked & find it was a lot of money for a pizza to share. Service ? Well you do everything yourself which is a little confusion & again a lot of money for a family.

Came here for some lunch, waitress seated us and said she would be back in 5 mins to take our order. She then forgot about us, sat a couple down on the table next to us, took their order and brought their hot drinks. I had to go to the counter after waiting for 20 minutes to ask if she could take my order as she was just stood talking at the till. Shocking.

After ordering a pizza in the store and waiting around 40 minutes I was asked for my name that that id ordered it under and then my pizza was bought out cold ( I suspect it had been ready a while and they’d not told me) Also I’d paid £30.99 for one meat feast pizza which seems either excessive or a mistake. I contacted customer services and left feedback but just got what seemed like a generic reply and didn’t address the issues I’d raised. I Certainly won’t be a customer in future.

Be honest their Pizza is brilliant, we really enjoyed it. The chicken wings and cheesy garlic bread are good, the only thing we did not like is the bottomless soft drink, the Pepsi Max and Pepsi Diet taste funny, I think maybe there is something wrong with the water. Recommend order bottles rather than refill soft drinks. Their dessert is also good. The staff is very friendly and helpful, she helped us to order the meal on the mobile phone (on line) and got the good deal to save money(still cost us nearly £50) but my Sainsbury’s credit card rejected the payment twice, the bank system thought it’s fraud. Very interesting and a little bit worrying.

People were taking salad bowls before evening ordering their meals. Ordering g is done by scanning a QR code on the table and before you even get a drink it asks you for a tip! It was adequately clean but a few tables had plates on them that were still there when we had finished our meals - about an hour. It was convenient for where we were staying but that's pretty much it.

States it was delivered but never received my order, very poor delivery service

The drink was missing from the order. The pizza was absymal. There is thin crust and this, which appears to be no thinker than a piece of paper. The pizza is limp and arrived stome cold as did the fries. Not the standard im used to from pizza hut

Amazing customer service! Popped in for a take away pizza and it didn't disappoint. The pizza was amazing and the customer service 5 star. Staff were helpful and lovely and really welcoming. Would 100% come back again!

I haven't been to pizza hut in years and years so thought we'd give it a try and that it would make a nice change from the usual McDonalds/KFC/ Burger King. Well.....certainly NOT what it used to be and unbelievablely expensive for what it is! ...It took ages to get seated...loads of tables left which hadn't been cleared away, I suspect just due to a lack of staff as the few staff we saw were rushing around. We were eventually seated, and went to the Salad Bar...oh dear....I think when lettuce has turned brown it says it all. Very few things there that looked remotely fresh, was in dire need of replenishment. As such, I skipped that (my partner had a few things, but he is braver than me). To the pizza counter we mooched, to wait in a big queue as they had brought out some new pizzas..sadly when we got to our turn there wasn't much left. Again, I think it comes down to a lack of staff, they just can't keep up with demand. It was peak time with loads of kids in there, but even so you'd think they would anticipate that demand might be a bit higher than usual. The few staff we did see were pleasant enough, but given the price and the dire salad bar and lack of pizza...we won't be going back anytime soon.

The food and staff were excellent. I wish the place had a bit more atmosphere as it can sometimes sound a bit echo and loud. Carpet or soft furnishings would likely improve on those.

There were only three pizzas of choice out on the buffet and the ice cream machine was broken which we paid extra for. When asked the staff about the machine they were rude and didn't offer anything to make it better. Money wasted!

Had the buffet - good hot food when you could get it. The staff were clearly overwhelmed with the amount of customers, which during half term likely should be anticipated. Pizzas took a long time to come out and frequently ran out, which did dampen the experience. Everyone clearly trying their best though.

Don’t order from here. We paid extra for chicken bits in a deal - 4 tiny pieces arrived. All 3 pizzas were cold. Meant to be 14 inch but they were not! £70 over all for 3 pizzas and 4 sides. Avoid!

Went for a childrens party.. Could do with a refresh on the decorating as a lot of graffiti written on walls, but dose make an interesting read to some photos..

All staff were amazing, extremely busy with big crowd in but food kept flowing and front of house including servers worked great alongside each other, great teamwork. Food as always was spot on.

Excellent chatty staff, from the moment we arrived to leaving the staff were great. Pizzas were lovely and tasted great. We were told the process of making the pizza and the stages involved. It was very interesting and there was more to it than I thought. Overall a very good night.

Had a lovely trip to Monks Cross Pizza Hut ..ordered online but the waitress was so super friendly and really lovely to my kids. It really made thr experience that much more enjoyable.

Food is ok, but let down by the service. Order on the app and that is the attitude of the staff. Not very attentive. Left with dirty plates in front of us for too long so i ended up getting up to ask not much happened so I moved them to a table that had just been vacated our deserts were brought over and the table was left dirty. I could understand if the restaurant was busy but there were only about 7 tables in at the time.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Especially the young girl who served us. Was a little disappointed with the buffet as there was only two pizzas on it I could have as for some reason all the other options that day were spicy. We waited ages for pizza as people were acting like vultures piling plates up and there was constantly no pizza available.

Haven't been to a pizza hut and probably won't be revisiting. Terrible service, very slow and missing items. Lots of tables filled with plates not cleared away. Staff do not check customers tables and waiting for food was too long. Don't bother unless you have a few hours to spare for mediocre food.

In summer time it is very nice to dine in the terrace. In my opinion, there is not enough pasta and vegetarian options. However the pizza base was thin and pizza was yummy.

Food arrived relatively fast considering we was a party of 3, we all enjoyed everything, the host made us feel very welcome, she was super polite, friendly and accommodating, ensuring that we got our drink cups and everything we needed in a timely manner. we loved our buffet, it is incredible value for money. The blonde host was super friendly, polite and accommodating, and went really above and beyond to make sure everyone had a good time, she deserves a raise and some recognition, I just wish i could remember her name.

Visited MonksCross yesterday and whilst here we stopped at Pizza Hut for some dinner. When we walked in we were met by a really polite server who showed us to an outside table. She asked if we would use the app by scanning the code on the table and when I refused saying I wanted to be served and not order via an app she was really good about that and said that’s fine I totally understand. The service was fast and we both ordered a meal deal. This allowed us to have refillable drinks, a salad bowl, pizza, side and pudding for £24.99 The salad bowl was ok nothing really to shout about the basic Pizza Hut salad, the garlic bread was a little over done but tasted more like bread as hardly had any garlic on what’s so ever. The fries were fantastic, really tasty. The pizzas were good one was a little dry but quite spicy (My partner love spice) the bbq pizza was tasty. The puddings were delicious A very pleasant visit

Brilliant place lovely food I love pizza hut hate that it's cashless as I don't agree with cashless places but it doesn't bother me all that much. Wait times for your bill can be ridiculous I was waiting nearly 20 minutes once but it gets busy quick. Good place.

Had a birthday group in celebrating our daughters 7th birthday. Emma who was one of the managerial team looked after us from start to finish whilst remaining calm and friendly to a large group of excited 7yr olds. She even commented that the kiddies said thank you on their way out which was lovely to hear that she appreciated them being there to celebrate. Thank you Emma you were an absolute star ♥ x

I've been going here for many years. Although infrequent, I love the fast service, the salad, the pizza and the pudding.

Pizza Hut used to be a great place to go, for families, groups of friends, couples, a good informal place to go, decent waiting staff, always managed a smile and a few words. Helped with suggestions, the menu etc. All thats gone now all the ordering has to be done on your phone, which not everyone has, or is comfortable using for such things. All the atmosphere and family friendly vibe has gone. There seems to be the same number of staff, but food seems to take longer to get to you, even though it wasnt mad busy? Maybe its because of the lack of interaction making the wait seem longer, I dont know. The staff seemed more weary and harrassed than they used to. Not just in this one either, this is the second time we'd been to a pizza hut since the change in the ordering system, and we'd had the same feelings the first time in Hull as well. With the growth in independent pizza places with comparable if not cheaper prices, and a more personal touch, I dont think we'll be going to a Pizza Hut again. I will admit the chicken flatbread was very good though, tasty.

3rd time lucky, well so I assumed. we went to this god awful place again as the last times we went we walked out after waiting 30 mins for a seat . Guess what same again today , the idiot of a waitresses the same one that is always there sent 14 people in front of us with the same amount of people. Then when my wife complained she but her hand to to her as to say speak to the hand . Rude self absorbed waitresses. Ran by muppets.

Came in for the buffet and was seated and got asked if we had done the buffet before and knew how it worked to which we agreed (all previous ones we had visited took our drinks order and gave us plates) we were sat for around five minutes and my partner got up to ask where he can get drinks. The manager then said “I thought you have been here before why aren’t you using the app” we told him we couldn’t connect to any service so couldn’t get onto it and looked around at other tables to suggest they managed. We told him our table number and pointed in the direction too and he just looked at us and Repeated to ask why we aren’t using the app then my partner looked at him in absolute shock and came back to the table. We decided to leave as he was giving a lot of attitude to us for no reason and it was also practically empty so I assume that shows. Absolutely shocking customer services on the manager, other staff seemed ok

Buffet, speed of service and attentiveness very good

Lovely dinner although personally slightly too much grease however it is pizza 😜 Also, despite the waitress being on her own, service was great. The atmosphere had an American diner feel, open plan and neon etc. Thank you!

Visited for dinner a couple of days ago. Staff were pleasant although ordering is now done via a QR code so the interaction was minimal. Food was very slow to come out, but it was tasty enough. The real issue to me was the price. Pizza hut used to be a cheap alternative to the likes of Pizza Express yet now its worse value and still lower quality. If it was still a cheap eat, it'd be great, but with these prices I'll stick to the better options in future!

Really we only go for goats pizza it's good every thing else is always good

We've just had our worst date ever at this pizza hut. Got there and tried to order food on the online thing which didn't work, we had already told the manager we have had issues ordering in the past and he didn't offer to take our order in person. After failed attempts online we had to request to order in person which delayed things. We both ordered the buffet, I instantly asked about margherita pizzas and was told they would be out on the buffet any minute. my husband who is less fussy than me went to the buffet and got what he wanted. 25 minutes later I had still not had a single slice of pizza, not one new pizza of any kind including margherita was put out on the buffet. Loads of veggie pizzas no one was eating and that were getting cold anyway, and various people getting up and down checking for margheritas with no luck. In the end I spoke to 3 members of staff and complained to the manager, they finally put a margherita out and everyone that had been waiting for it rushed over and it was gone within two minutes. More waiting, spoke to the manager twice about it, finally some more came out after we had all given up. I've never been to such a bad pizza hut. The whole point of the buffet is that it's quick and easy and you don't have to sit waiting for your food to come, we spent our whole date with me watching my husband eat while I sat starving! When we left nobody apologised, manager busied himself washing tables instead of apologising when I had complained directly to him about the service, and we weren't even offered to have the price of a drink knocked off our bill. They weren't even busy. I can't believe they wouldn't prioritise margheritas when fussy kids eat buffet and want plain pizzas and loads of adults want it too. Other pizza huts keep an eye on the buffet and keep it stocked up with fresh pizzas, not ones that have sat going cold half an hour. Manager said some people had pre ordered food and their food got prioritised over the buffet - absolutely bizarre state of affairs if a restaurant full of people had to go hungry so some people who have pre ordered can eat quicker. Avoid avoid avoid.

Surprised this branch is open, can't imagine it would pass food safety. I think Pizza Hut brand must be surviving purely on 90s nostalgia.

We went for the buffet lunch and we really had our monies worth. Hot pizza's, garlic bread, not a bad salad selection. Pasta had a good choice. I'm only down grading the atmosphere as the noise of children screaming. But don't let that put you off a good lunchtime deal.

Good, fresh, tasty food, lovely friendly atmosphere, everything was clean and comfortable and we were able to spend all the time we wanted on our meal despite arriving very late.

Not happy that they've replaced the veggie melt with three cheese. It's just one overwhelming flavour of cheese!

Okay, it's a family restaurant, however I would like to suggest hand washing facilities and slight improvement in hygiene at the self-service counters.

The food is always nice. The staff usually lovely. Sometimes it gets way too busy and noisy with the amount of people that can be fitted in.

Called in for lunch today while out Christmas shopping with family I went for the buffet wow Great pizza plenty of it and not just plan margarita well done guys My Wife is ceoliac and we struggle to find places that cater for allergies Pizza Hut 100% great details plenty of choice Thank you Pizza Hut I must mention Jesica the young lady who practically runs the place she was non stop a true credit to Pizza Hut Showing people to their tables taking their order serving drinks and food and replenishing the salad bar I felt like she was the only member of staff there!

Awful experience, went in on a quiet Tuesday, had to wait 5 mins to even be seated then left after 20 mins as no one had even come to take my order. Appalling service

Went today,opted for the buffet option along with at least 20 other customers some of which had young kids....absolute shambles,we spent more time waiting for pizza than we did eating!.....a buffet should NOT run empty....if they cant cope then a buffet option shouldnt be a choice.......on a plus side the waitress i saw said sorry more than once & cut our bill in half....

Boring choice of pizza never again

Absolutely dreadful. Zero taste. We ordered the £44 deal for 3 which comes as 1 x large pizza, 2 sides, 2 deserts. We ordered a split pizza. Veggie on 1 side, pepperoni on the other. Niether tasted OK. The base sauce was bland, the cheese was limited with no flavour. Even the pepperoni was tasteless. The crust too was bland. The chips for the cost were a small portion. The onion rings were pail and ok. This is profit before taste. We left 2 pieces of pizza, which given there were 3 sharing 1 is very poor. We declined the deserts we paid for as part of the offer. That's how turned off we were. Server was great. I gave her the feedback, but what can you do when this is how they cook and deliver. Wasnt suprised to see more bad reviews than good. I have emailed the ceo with the feedback, although I doubt there is anything they can do as we wont return not even with a free voucher. This is how bad it was. The salad bar is also a tasteless selection of items. Dominoes for us going forward.

We used to visit Pizza Hut quite a lot a few years ago and decided to give it another try. We were quite disappointed. The restaurant was very cold so I kept my coat on. The food was ok but definitely over priced. Not much customer service now that you order directly from the table. A meal deal at £22 each was crazy compared to a higher end restaurant in York.

Overpriced buffet, with not w ough selection of pizza. Would've been cheaper buying 2 pizzas than getting 2 buffets. Might just be me getting old but fast food quality is rapidly declining. Not worth it at all.

This pizza hut is terrible, it's expensive and if that weren't enough, they don't bring you the pizza. I went to dinner and my friends are still waiting for the pizza and they had problems getting their money back. Anyway, don't go there.

Effectively turned away! Though there were tables that just needed a wipe down cleaning, the member of staff gave a silly time to three parties consisting of 2, 3 & 6. So, not impressed!

Yummy pizza, great meal deals & wonderful service

I went with a friend to eat a gluten free pizza on Sunday.I want to tell you that I had a bad experience, the staff were inexperienced, I ate a pizza with crispy salami and some olives and paid £20, how is that possible? Oh, and I forgot to mention that the pizza was very small, it was the size of a children's pizza .So let me tell you, my girlfriend and I paid £40 for 2 pizzas, how is it seriously possible, even in an authentic pizza restaurant, there are no other prices.Another thing that amazed me was I asked for an espresso and I was shocked when he brought it to the table, it was put in a holder and not even served in a coffee cup, then I went to the waiter and said it's normal for expresso to be served like that and he apologizedI usually never leave negative feedback, but this was the first because I was really shocked by the experience I had! Avoid this place!

I am angry, why are the staff not reading the order properly. I ordered 2 melts (pepperoni) garlic bread, 2 Pepsi max’s which I paid extra money for. I got 2 melts (meat feast) garlic bread and 1 Pepsi Max. The food was cold but it wasn’t the drivers fault he had waited 20 minutes in the shop before it had been given to him. Not acceptable won’t order again from here.

Very poor service. Staff didn't seem to have a clue and were disinterested. Salad bar empty as such a long wait for food that was most people's main meal. Massively over priced for the quality. Should have gone to pizza express. Avoid.

I went there for dinner and I ordered a pizza which by the way was too expensive and they didn't bring it to me, don't worry, it's expensive and bad and they gave me trouble to return my money. It won't happen to me again and with you? don't really go

Spicy veg melt arrived hot and perfectly made.

Food was cooked well and in a timely manner. Atmosphere hard to judge as we were literally the only patrons. Service was done by very polite and friendly staff. The only downside is use have to use a smartphone to order and pay for your order, luckily my wife is clued up in tech matters where I just make a call on my brick.

We were queuing out the door, nobody came to see anybody to be seated or told about a situation. Dirty tables were everywhere, we had to ask a young waitress after 20 minutes what was happening. The manager eventually came to see us and said it was a 30 minute wait, I said well if you clean the 5 dirty tables I can see from here then we would beable to sit down! He was very rude and said it’s still going to be 30 minutes! Bad customer service and very understaffed! We drove to Bella Italia and Clifton moor and had a lovely meal and were seated immediately. Won’t be going back!

Normally great, but pizza was like it has been carried by a fool like a briefcase, also missing the ice cream for the cookie.

Never had a Manager so attentive in a pizza hut , this rubbed off on the whole team fantastic eperience .The ability to be able to sit outside with our dog was fantastic , we understand not inside but one of the few with tables outside what a great idea.

First off why no cash, we had been given some money to go out for tea but could not use it because it was card payments only, that is disgusting if we had not had a child with us we would have gone elsewhere. The salad bar was meagre to say the least. Pizza was over cooked and burnt in places and the onion rings tasted of cheese which says to me they were probably cooked at the same time as someone else's cheese bite things. The ice cream factory was disgusting with melted ice cream and sauce all over the countertop and my son ended up with half a bowl of melted ice cream before edible ice cream came out of the dispenser. After he had finished his ice cream and about 20 mins after myself and partner had finished eating no one had come to clear the table and offer us our desserts so I went and asked for them to be given to us in takeaway containers queue another 10 minute wait, probably a good thing you MADE me pay when I ordered as I would not have paid after given the service and quality of the food,

Amazing staff willing to accommodate eating disorders and learn more about them. They went above and beyond to help my girl to eat.

The waitress gave me a 12 and under menu and asked me if I wanted any colouring when you can clearly tell I am 16. I have a nose piercing for christ sakes. I might be small and what she said might of been unintentional but there’s still no need. I am awfully offended.

When walking into the pizza hut, I could feel the cold room as on an already mild day, the air-conditioning was on full. The room was very busy and noisy the queue stretched outside and the food was undercooked as the cheesy bites were pale even though it took half an hour to be brought to our table. The pizza fell apart once it arrived. As i was leaving, I went to the toilets that were incredibly dirty. I do not recommend going to this pizza hut!

Salad bar was a mess. No nachos at the busiest time which is what the kids came from and they looked short staffed as the restaurant was a bit untidy

Went today for 9.99 all you can eat Buffet. Maybe ok if you are a meat eater, but don't bother if you are Vegetarian. A thin rather sad looking couple of slices of Margherita Pizza was my only choice. Totally tasteless and hardly any cheese! I then waited for more choice only to find the only other options were more of the aforementioned Pizza or the same again, but thick crust. We don't all want to fill up from the salad bar or on the Pasta. I will not be going again. Worst possible table service ever. First the online menu was the worst possible thing then after we ordered they gave us cups then they took 40 minutes to them to come over and ask if we ordered. Most of the time they were sat on their phones exept one of them . Then they asked us if we ordered but they brought are cups over so they new we ordered. Then they went off and they all laughed. Then magically our food came down and they brought it. It was stone cold and they didn’t even apologise for the wait. Would 100percent not recommend . They were so rude

We arrived 10 mins early was hoping just inside the door would be hoovered before we went in but it wasn't, the guy told us when we received the bill that you can't pay cash, but he could use his card and we pay him cash, seems a strange thing to say to customers,.food was ok but I don't think it was the best we've had

Place is filthy. Not much more to add other than Pizza Hut has become far too expensive for the tasteless over priced barely warm offerings.

Sadly the blonde manager on shift today (23/07/23) was extremely poor at her job. Whilst waiting the hour wait for a table, we whitenesses 12 people turn and and leave which we were perplexed about as there was between 5/6 dirty tables with nobody sat at them (and nobody cleaning them) at any one time over the course of the hour. This approach was surprising as you’d expect the restaurant to want to cater and take as much custom as possible. Perhaps they should put a 2hr limit on buffet tables? We felt the manager was extremely poor at her job as having worked in hospitality myself the standard direction from management is to clean dirty tables which she failed to execute at any level. Her attitude was also very poor and greeting to customers unfriendly. I understand we all have bad days and this may have been one of them though judging by others reviews I expect not.
