Here we found the best coffee on the Cumbrian coast, in a cosy and quirkily decorated cafe. It seemed to be frequented by all age groups, too, so no-one would feel out of place.

My new favourite coffee shop. Very cool, great coffee and tasty cakes, what more could you ask for... I've only been once but I fully intend on taking my mum and boyfriend there soon.

An absolute gem for the town of Maryport. A relaxed place with a very warm welcome and the coffee is by far the loveliest fresh hot coffee I have experienced anywhere locally. The decor is so calming and I will definitely be visiting again.

Quality cafe showing how it should be done. This town centre cafe not only captures your attention with its quirky, well considered decor, but also brews coffees to a level you’d find in major cities. Friendly and welcoming, we ordered large mugs of coffee and home made oat cookies. We were told the coffee is a special blend roasted for the cafe. It certainly is. Great flavour and robust. The oat cookies were large and fresh, full of butter and raisins, but delicious. There were plenty of cake options too. We are fairly local but will make a point of revisiting. Well done, what a bonus to this town.

A local recommended Pixel to us as it was our first visit to Maryport. The owner kindly guided us in over the phone. I then rang hey to explain the mystery of the car parking! The cafe was worth the effort, quirky, clean and comfortable. Excellent rocky road and non lactose milk choices. Highly recommend

Absolutely fabulous. Even if not staying in Maryport, please detour here just for the coffee alone! The interior is wonderfully eclectic with soft music playing. One of the best cakes I’ve ever had. (Banana & walnut) with delightful staff. This will be my go-to coffee shop from now on!

Like so many Kiwis, in particular those of us who choose to live in Wellington, I am so excited when I am actually served a great cup of coffee in the UK. And this one really made the grade. Strong coffee made well, with quality beans. A great range of sweet treats including gluten free and vegan options is available. We were very pleased with the ones we selected. It’s also a classy environment, nicely fitted out, with just that little bit of character, as well as a few outdoor tables on the pavement which were enjoying full sun on the morning we visited. Add to this great service, a range of up to date magazines, some local art and cards for sale and a very clean toilet upstairs, and you can see why we rated this cafe 5 stars. Enjoy a walk down the hill to the port and a stroll around this interesting area either before or after your visit to this cafe and you will be pleased you made it to Maryport.

Wow! What a find. This isn't just a good coffee shop for Maryport, this is a coffee shop that would be worthy of 5-stars if it was in London, New York, or Rome. I really wasn't expecting something so funky in Maryport. We have some great coffee shops in our home town of Ilkley, but this is right up there. And the decor is amazing. Definitely worthy of full marks on all fronts.

Love this place. The atmosphere, stylish furniture, decor and of course the coffee. They also do a small selection of cakes and cookies. My favourite coffee shop. My cappuccino is always served properly hot, as I like it (ask for extra hot).

One of the most original coffee bars we have visited, this is very much a family business, which deserves support. The decor and artefacts are great, in particular the ceiling which is based on traditional African prints-very vivid. There's a lovely relaxing ambience about the place induced by the friendly welcome of one of the owners. Oh and the coffee and homemade (son) cake were great. Highly recommended.

Visited on a very blustery day in Maryport. Excellent coffee and one of the best hot chocolates I have had, topped with shaved chocolate. Owner very friendly - would use again if in area.

Our first visit to Rathlin Island and of course we availed of The Hungry Seal! The food was absolutely amazing, we were in chippy heaven. The chips are probably the best I've ever had and the battered sausages to die for! The other half had the haddock supper and claimed it was the best he's ever had. Decent portions, the price is up there but not much different than your average chippy to be fair. The girls were lovely and had the food ready in good time. We would take a trip back to the island just for another feed at the Hungry Seal lol 10/10 for us! (Not my picture, found in Google search)

Absolutely loved the bakery! Extremely friendly shop owner, and even had a gluten free option which was much appreciated! I would highly recommend this bakery, and will definitely be revisiting next time I visit Keswick!

... indeed they do! Imagine taking a rare 300+ mile journey to revisit your childhood memories, including that of the pub that you were born in. Imagine turning up at the said establishment, full of excitement and anticipation only to be shouted at "You can't park here, I'm expecting people for Sunday Lunch" - maybe the Landlord was psychic and knew we weren't his intended visitors, or he only serves his local clientele with charm? Imagine then trying to hold a conversation with said Landlord about the past, who clearly wasn't interested, simply citing "things change". Indeed they do... just not always for the better... as evidenced at The Bush (previous name, from back in (much) better times.
