Stuarts Fish & Chip Shop in East Riding of Yorkshire

Just moved recently to Driffield and got a take away tonight of Fish and Chips from here for first time and they were excellent . Fish nice and thick with crispy batter and we got the regular not the large and couldnt believe the size! goodness knows how big the large is if this was the regular. And a massive bag of chips. Lovely staff and quick service. Think we have found out local chippy for definite!

Amazing fish & chips beautifully cooked, tasted delicious. My friend had salmon and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of chioce for dessert if you have room . Staff very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely return next time I am in the area

A fantastic restaurant attached to a fish and chip takeaway in the Wolds town of Driffield, East Yorkshire. The fish was very fresh, succulent and fried to perfection. Chips and mushy peas were the ideal accompaniment, all served with tea/coffee and bread and butter. We ate everything up! Great selection of desserts on the board, too. Friendly staff and swift service in a clean environment.

My wife and I had the seniors special - haddock, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter, pot of tea, and a great choice of desserts - all for £12.50. There's no exaggeration when I say these were the best fish n chips we've ever had - generous portions, crispy batter, and great taste. The desserts were clearly home made, and also delicious. I had bread and butter pudding, and my wife had apple crumble. All staff were helpful, attentive, and friendly. We will definitely return.

Fish and chips is my favourite takeaway meal.....and this was no exception. Freshly cooked and still in paper, we were soon enjoying the crisp batter, thick white fillet, chips and mushy peas. Nice sized portion, and even our cat enjoyed a sliver of the fillet after we had finished. Definitely a treat

Best value fish and chips around. Superb friendly staff . Air conditioned Restaurant and easy parking in the lovely market town of Driffield. Top tip - Do not order the Jumbo haddock, they give you two tiny fish one piled on top of the other, but great selection of sweets , great value wine list and an excellent cupper. Super night out ! ! !

After a long week at work, we decided to treat ourselves to fish and chips! Freshly cooked, the fish and chips were hot and tasty and crispy. We had a large, and the fish was beautifully white under the batter, and a pile of chips. Very nicely wrapped, but the steam caused one of the fish to break in half - boxes would be better but I just ate our the paper. A bit retro, but very enjoyable

Always enjoyed Stuart’s of Driffield and always finish but tonight it was awful left most of it. The batter was not cooked properly so very pale unlike the usual standard and chips were chewy and bitty. It will be a while before we revisit, very disappointed

Stuarts of Driffield were at Shrewsbury Folk Festival (Aug 2024). Top quality fish (lightly battered) and chips, freshly cooked. Very tasty, as were the peas and gravy. Great value for money, moreso given this was a festival. Am hoping they return in 2025!

Late night chippy run while attending a large event in the town. The takeaway was incredibly busy but the staff were very efficient and we didn't wait long. Huge portions of chips, served piping hot and just as chip shop chips should be. The accompanying battered sausages were great value at just £1 each. And scraps!!!!! Can't recommend highly enough.

Sin duda una forma de limitar la conversación.Las bebidas llegaron; en vez de en el manantial de agua producida en Keld (en realidad el nombre de marca en el menú), nos trajeron un desconocido marca de agua de manantial de North Wales!Para rematar la experiencia, mi pancake tibia de mariscos con toda saturado King gambas (Shell) sentado en la cima.Para ser claro, me encanta el marisco de todos los tipos y no tengo ningún problema con peeling langostinos y hemos disfrutado esta manera este plato se sirve en este restaurante varias veces antes.¿Cómo sabía el rey gambas estaba saturado? Tan pronto como me intentó sacar la cabeza, agua sludgy marrón y un olor de amoníaco que elija te hartes salió. ".Sí, en retrospectiva, no me hubiera gustado que me había tomado una foto de lo que añadir a esta crítica, aunque incluso que no proporcionar el tipo olor acre de amoníaco de una gamba nórdica claramente no en su más frescos.** Servicio de atención al cliente en su peor. Mariscos que no era fresco y un riesgo para la salud. La peor parte, no obstante, que pasan de todo **asqueroso, asqueroso desagradable.

Metimos en para el almuerzo. Las normas nunca dejar. Pescado tan fresco que literalmente se deshace en la boca. El personal es profesional, pero amable, servicial y agradable. Restaurante estaba lleno, como siempre. Nos encanta por su sencillez y frescura de los alimentos. No tienes que comer durante una semana después de visitar Stuarts. Es una buena comida británica en su mejor momento y nunca nos ha decepcionado. Excelente relación calidad-precio.

Fish and chips nice. Customer service not so nice! You are greated literally as a "next!"! No interest in conversation or social interaction, just your order. Go to Railway street. They know how to talk to customers........and get them back!

Además, una selección de postres de la junta en la pared. Las opciones van desde pegajosa pudding toffees, crumbe de Apple, pudding de pan con mantequilla, y al menos dos más en la lista. Todo esto por 7.50 libras para mayores de 60 años. Es hora de comer y por la noche también. Un gran aparcamiento está situado en la calle principal, que es gratis, lo que hace una diferencia.El servicio es siempre amable y eficiente, buenas raciones sirve té caliente con mucho que se puede beber. Estuvimos allí cuando abrió sus puertas a las 5 de la tarde del viernes, en el momento en que la izquierda todas las mesas en el restaurante habían tomado. Una buena indicación de que están haciendo algo bien.Sin duda vale la pena si te encanta el pescado y patatas fritas.

He estado muchas veces con amigos y familia y nunca me ha decepcionado. La comida es siempre caliente y el servicio de primera clase.Incluso cuando está ocupada que no tienen tiempo para esperar. Probablemente el mejor restaurante de pescado en el East Riding.Whitheads cerca de Hornsea llega un segundo.

A real friendly welcome to this very clean fish and chip restaurant on a wet Monday lunchtime. We had the special that was on offer, this consisted of fish, chips, peas bread and butter and tea. The fish was white and encased in a beautiful light batter and the chips were crisp with a soft inside. The peas were served in a ramekin and the bread was both white and brown on the plate. Everything was cooked to perfection and this could possibly be the best ever tasting fish and chip meal that we have ever been fortunate enough to taste. We were then presented with a desert menu which had Trifle, Bread and Butter pudding, Sticky Toffee pudding, Syrup sponge pudding and a couple of other choices, which were served with Custard or cream There was a pot of tea and a pot of water, All well presented and real value for money at £7,50 each, reservations can be made and I fully recommend you do because it has a regular clientele and the restaurant soon gets full but give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. There is also a teatime special. We were so pleased that we called back the following Friday and had the same exceptional service. Enjoy.

La pasta nunca es demasiado grasienta realmente una buena relación calidad-precio también. Nunca me he podido completamente terminar mi comida. Excelente relación calidad-precio.

Yo estaba en la libertad Festival en Hull el domingo 07/09/14 y vi este estancamiento y me apetecía el Scampi por £4:20, suponiendo que estas incluidas patatas fritas. No, patatas fritas un extra de £2, así que pedí que de todos modos. Me dieron 8 piezas de los Scampi más pequeña que he visto en mi vida. En general, la comida era muy cara y no muy agradable, me fui la mayoría de mis patatas fritas.

Driving past and saw this place, so called for our tea, service was quick although there were a few in the queue but chips were limited to one size only and the fish was already fried, chips were very good but the fish was nothing special.

A visit to Stuarts in Driffield is one of my "must do fixes "when i visit family in East Yorkshire.The staff are always extremely friendly and the fish and chips second to none.Living in Wales where fish and chips are cooked in Oil and just do not taste the same neccesitates a visit!The value for money aspect is impressive against other establishments as when we visited this week just after 7 pm we could have regular haddock ,chips,mushy peas,bread and butter and a pot of tea for £7.50 each and my parents had the senior citizens special that includes all of the above(a slightly smaller fish and chip portion-i was once served one in error which was very rapidly corrected yet i would not have even noticed)and a dessert is also included.The service is always first class as was on this visit even though the restaurant was full and we were even given an apology for the well behaved but noisy party of persons who were exhibitors at the following weekends traction engine rally and certainly no noisier than when our department at work have a night out.In conclussion fantastic fish and chips(other items on the menu) a great venue and 5* service and ooking forward to my next trip North already.

Cannot understand why the town is bustling on a Saturday afternoon and the fish & chip cafe is closed. Nowhere to eat sat down. Terrible. Obviously they don't want custom after 1.30pm when we called and all in darkness.

One of the good things about been a pensioner is the pensioners offer at Stuarts restaurant. Fish ,chips and mushy peas, a pudding,a Pot of tea and bread and butter all for £7-50p. The fish and chips were beautifully cooked. Choice of 6 puddings. I had a brandy snap basket filled with lemon mousse and ice cream. The waitress bought us another pot of tea and the total cost for a mouthwatering meal for 2 £15.

Some of the best fish and chips I've had which I feel is saying something coming from an American that lives a block from the ocean. We have alot of similar shops, but the Brits do it right at Stuarts. I'd go back if it wern't so far away.

It is not often I give high praise as you will see if you look at any of my previous reviews but our fish and chips in Stuarts couldn't be faulted. We arrived at arount 1.00 for lunch and had to queue for a table which is always a sign that the food will be good. We only wailted a short while and it was certainly worth the wait. The fis was gooked just right with lovely crisp batter. The chips were nice and dry, just the way I like them. Mushy peas came in a pot and were excellent. I am not sure if the tartre sauce was home made but it certainly tasted good, not like the plastic packets you get in some places. The portins were big but it was so good we ate it all. We wouldn't normally have pudding after eating so much but it was included in the price and home made. I couldn't finish all my sticky toffee pudding but it was really nice as was the creamy custard. I was spoilt for choice with the puddings they all sounded good. Tirimisu, sherry trifle, fruit crumble, bread and butter pudding and more. All my favourites so we will be back to try another and the delicious fish and chips. This is the third time we have eaten out this week and by far the best and the cheapest.
