They have relocated, but me being me I typed it into google maps and it still shows they’re at Derngate which they’re not, they have moved to Wellingborough Road next to Sainsbury’s (it does state on their website. I rang them and told them the situation, they were completely understanding. We were greeted by a friendly server, she was casual and professional and made us feel at ease. We had two cocktails and both were espresso martinis and they were spot on. A minor criticism, we were seated by the window which was fine for both of us, but the table was a quite wobbly. But that didn’t ruin our evening together. The menu had so many good choices, they all sounded so appealing and you can tell it’s made with fresh ingredients. We tried 8 of the main dishes out of 14 to chose from, one word for all of them: Fautless. We tried the two of the desserts as well and what I can say they hit it out of the park. We’ve tried plenty of churros in our life and they were top notch. The waitress who was serving us (big shout out to her for amazing service, lady with big earring and upper lip piercing) she checked back on our main food which is a bug bear of mine. Towards the end of the evening, the music did get a bit loud, I suppose the evening was turning to night, but that didn’t bother us as our meal was coming to the end. The decor is a mix of everything, but not a select style as such but it’s got a nice ambience and friendly vibe. Song choices were good too. I can’t wait to come back.

I booked a table for 9th March by email on 5th February and got confirmation. We arrived and were shown to our table. We ordered drinks and food which was delicious but as soon as we finished we were asked to leave as they had double booked. We explained we hadn’t finished our drinks and we were going to order more food. The next thing the waitress had been sent up by the manager asking for proof we had booked a table. It took about 5 minutes for me to find the email, I was beginning to feel very uncomfortable and stressed. When I eventually found it, the waitress took a photo of it and disappeared. In the meantime the table next to us left without paying because of the service. I asked to speak to the manager who came over and asked what our problem was, we had enjoyed the food, he couldn’t understand how uncomfortable we felt being asked to leave and prove we had booked a table. He was so rude and it was complete waste of time trying to speak to him. We have been to Foodies several time when it was in the Derngate but would never go again and would never recommend anyone to. It’s such a shame as the food is delicious and the two waitresses were doing their best under the circumstances and were lovely. It’s a shame the manger can ruin the whole place.

We went as a family of 4. There is nothing for children. Most of the food is pretty bland. The dishes are expensive. I think we should sum it up by saying we visited McDonald's afterwards. The dishes looked good. The staff were friendly. Being sat by the toilet wasn't a great experience.

I visited Foodies.rocks with a group of friends. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the bathroom is a marvel to look at. You order food by ticking off the plates you want. Each costs around £5 each, the food is unique and we found ourselves googling what some of the items were. The food comes out in a staggered pace, for example I had all my food arrive whilst my friend had one dish and the others came out after I had finished. The food is cooked to perfection and everything has a great unique taste. A lot of the items are healthy. The only problem is the portion size is very small and not worth the money. We left the restaurant after having 3 plates each and we all were still hungry. Please see below my pros and cons to Foodies.rocks Pro's Nice food, cooked to perfection. It has a cool and great atmosphere inside the restaurant and it is decorated uniquely. It is a great place to have a meal with friends and family. It is a very healthy restaurant. The staff were great and very helpful. Con's At £5 per dish It is expensive. Portion size is terrible and really needs re thinking. Summary This is a nice place to try however I do not think I will be returning unless the size of the meals are changed.

We visited Foodies.Rock for the second time on Friday night April 2018 prior to a show at Royal and Derngate and cannot compliment them enough!!! Both times we have been we have thoroughly enjoyed our food and recommended them to anyone who will listen! Their stripped back furnishings are a little quirky, and their toilets are basic but their food and hospitality make up for that and more!! My husband and I very much enjoy trying new foods and absolutely love the tapas style menu where food comes out at different times and in smaller portions where you get a sample of it all. As it is street food from around the world it may require the average restaurant goer to step out of their comfort zone and try something new but I can assure you it will be WELL WORTH IT! We were advised to have 2-3 portions per person so we opted for three each and left with full bellies! Our favourites were the Korean bbq chicken, cassava chips and pork gyoza and in our opinion were all reasonably priced! Prior to coming in on Friday, I’d taken some time to read some of the reviews on TA and FB, and throughout my visit I noted that the staff and management have very much taken feedback on board and actually had made changes where appropriate, which to me speaks volumes about a restaurant! This is a gem in Northampton, perfect for a pre theatre dinner date, and yet remain modest in their approach! They deserve to be praised and supported for bringing something so new and refreshing to the local community! If you are reading this because you are considering it, just go, you won’t truly know until you try! I for one am already looking forward to my next visit!!!

Friday night. Chose to dine here, we’ve all been here a few times and been happy but after food came out freezing cold (fish tacos) and the waiter was unable to explain why they said they’d bring them out again. It was too late meal time was over for us but they still tried to make us pay for them. Asked for manager to discuss. No manager available. So at a stand off we agreed a price but I’m still really annoyed that a restaurant serves up frozen food and still expects to be paid for it! Also intimidating staff all came out from Kitchen they were annoyed they’d recooked the fish tacos and we didn’t eat them. Not the way to handle it at all. Made us feel so uncomfortable. WILL NEVER GO BACK DO NOT RECOMMEND. Also have to say why do they expect bar service for drinks when they are all standing around talking couldve made a lot more money selling to us than they did . Ridiculous place never again.

Have visited at least 4 times with friends. Love the relaxed but cool feel to the place - has an urban/shoreditch style. You fill in a card with your food and drinks order and take to the bar and pay. The food then comes out as and when it’s ready. Love the street food style, makes a change from the numerous burger and chips and Spanish tapas places. Favourite dishes are the Dahi puri and the edamame hummus. The only reason haven’t given 5 stars is that the place needs menu revamp or some specials. Have grown bit bored of the menu and will wait for this to be updated or specials to be introduced before return again

Finally got round to visiting Foodies Rocks after many of my own clients recommended. I have to say it did not live up to what their Website states or what I have been told word of mouth. There was no live music, The fish tacos tasted like Bombay Duck (strong dried fish), the menu did not describe as such. We were advised to order all at once as the dishes come out spaced, all 12 dishes came at once and within 10 mins so there was no room on the table, even the waiter was stacking food on top of each other to help clear dishes and make room. No draught Lager available, although we were given 1 bottle of lager FOC after paying for one, still £5 for a pint of larger is more expensive than London. All in all felt rushed had arrived and eaten within an hour, so we ordered some more dishes to keep going so we could enjoy the evening more. Such a shame, will not return.

I chose it never having eaten here before and it was a different sort of offering to what we usually go for. You could call it street food tapas, you choose a number of little dishes. This means the costs can mount up if you have a large appetite. The food itself is lovely, beautifully prepared and very tasty. They have a very eclectic range of beers from around the world, including a strong sweet porter from the Caribbean with others from Cambodia and Japan, all in little bottles. The waiting staff are friendly and helpful. The decor is sort of industrial, but goes well with the vibe.I'll be recommending this place to my friends as it deserves more customers.

Went here for a date night with my boyfriend on a weekday trying to look for something different in Northampton. The menu was indeed different and for once there were as much vegetarian options as there were meat options!Nevertheless we wanted something different, the deco was cool and food presentation nice as well (all in recycled materials which gives a nice touch to it), but we were alone and there was no music in the restaurant so kind of strange environment. Food was quickly served and nicely cooked. Just think maybe you can take a bit more out of the experience on a weekend.

We arrived on a Saturday at around 18:15. We managed to get a table even though there were a lot of tables reserved because most of the reservations were for 8PM and we knew we’d be out by then. This is the sort of place you’d expect to see in London and it’s great that Northampton now has somewhere fresh and new to eat; different to the traditional sit down three course meal. It’s quite industrial and basic inside but there are some interesting features like the lights and door handles. We each ordered a couple of dishes and some stuff to share like the seaweed and the cassava chips. The food comes as its made and in no set order but it makes the evening more interesting and more informal. They have some good beers and I had the lucky Buddha lager which came in a green bottle Ing the shape of a Buddha. The service was very friendly and although there was a slight hiccup in our order, the staff were very helpful and we were offered a free drink for our inconvenience. The food comes served on paper in a basket and you eat with your hands, although you can request cutlery if you need it. We kept with the street food theme and used our fingers and it was fun. We all loved the food and my favourite was the Taiwanese prawn bun.I can see us coming here quite regularly.

We were in Northampton for the evening nad looking for something nice to ea and chanced upon Foodies - What a great find! So refreshing to have a menu with things I haven't heard of. Every mouthful was a new experience and very much appreciated. The staff were friendly and helpful and the little by little delivery of our order to the table was like a gentle grazing experience along with some rather appealing bottled beers. It was a lovely reminder to us of our life in Hackney before moving to the countryside. Well done staff and owners I hope it really does well - so utterly refreshing to find a street food place outside London.

Real shame. Genuinely good tucker but so obsessed with its own 'street-food' vibe it seems impossible to bring food out in any semblance of order - i.e. here are loads of chips with no other dishes for ten minutes etc - and no clue in terms of service or billing. A bizarre focus on ordering on an individual ticket rather than taking orders at the table leaves the place rather laughable - paying the bill for our table was a car-crash. Unfortunately I would suggest don't bother with this place. Far better places without the pretence. I offered polite feedback - they shot me down. Guess I'm just not cool enough.

Went for lunch with my mum and sis and we all enjoyed our meal. A little pricey but everything (esp kfc, churros and Taiwanese gua bao) is fresh, hot and really cooked well (possibly due to the small menu). Funnily enough I really liked the energy ball, which I ate as a sort of appetizer even though it's sweet.I appreciate the veggie options because I have a few vegan/ veggie friends so I know the struggle but they were mostly south Asian style- we found in a lot of dishes (the dreaded) coriander, which both my mum and I can't stand due to the soap gene. But if you love that kinda thing, you're good!! General consensus is that the place is quite hipster and small. House music, industrial styling and upcycled furniture make it a very unique and fun establishment. Personally, we loved the ordering system which was very easy and written down, pass to the bar and get the food in 10/ 20 minutes or so. The server was nice, quick and polite. And there's a very casual atmosphere so a good hang out place.Cutlery was recyclable as well as the takeaway containers. Food is served in baskets so easy clean up. No plates and it was all very quick, just stack the baskets and they'll take them away. There is parking outside on the street (or the multi-story) and we paid for 2 hours. If we hadn't have ordered takeaway for my dad, we would have only been there for forty minutes!Criticisms include: some of the sauces on the food were quite sweet (rather than spicy) which can be unsatisfying after a while of craving a rich deep flavour (kfc & bbq pork). And the aforementioned coriander but that's obviously down to cuisine. We'll definitely return, if not just to show off the place to friends and visitors but I would only consider lunch because even though we were full, it somehow didn't feel like it would be a satisfying dinner as the food is quite snacky- which is of course, in alignment with their streetfood business model.

Came into Northampton on a bus from an AirBnB during a research trip, was throwing it down, not much opportunity to look at the historic architecture, took shelter in a big chain pub: all seemed lost for good night out.We took a punt on this place but it was really enjoyable. Small menu of street-food (about 2-3 orders per person, like Wahaca), but all very freshly cooked. It's odd sort of fusion-food, hard to categorise, but they know what they're doing with the ingredients. Actually probably nicer than any comparable place I've been to in London!Service was friendly and quick. The name may be a bit silly, but I really recommend this place if you're stuck in Northampton! I was very surprised to read the 2 star review. We've eaten here several times and have always really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The menu is a selection of small plate dishes from a variety of international cuisine. (Great for sharing as there are 2 or 3 items on each small plates - we found 5 plates was ample for the 2 of us) The plates come out as they are cooked meaning your dishes are very fresh. My only dislike is the wooden cutlery as I hate the feel and hate the idea of the disposability, but this is only a tiny niggle and most of the dishes can be eaten with your fingers! Served street food style in a contemporary rustic setting, (rough wood, filament bulbs, copper pipe fittings and quirky decor add to the experience) we have tried most of the dishes. Yes the menu isn't vast (why would you want it to be? As everything is cooked fresh you know you aren't getting mass produced crap!) Fish Tacos, Dahi Puri, Korean Fried Chicken & pork Gyoza are favorites and the chunky Cassava Fries are to die for. Drinks menu offers some interesting beers (Love the slightly sweet Caribbean Stout) and although there are only a couple of bottles of wine on the list they are nice quality and not overly priced. We haven't been able to attend the music nights as my partner is a wheelchair user and the events are held down stairs, but we have always been made welcome and given a hand up the one step to the dining area. There is a disabled loo (bit of a squeeze for a wheelchair but it works!) The staff are friendly, funky and knowledgeable about the drinks and dishes.

The is a good, little street food venue slightly out of the way in the town centre. We popped in on a Saturday late afternoon. There was only 2 other people there at the time so we were promptly served. You have to select your dishes on a small notepad and take this to the counter to be served. The food was served very promptly and came out at different times. This was good as you could concentrate on each dish and enjoy it without being faced with lots of plates filling up the table. The food was delicious, we had four dishes between us all and there was plenty. There is a downstairs bar which has bands playing at the weekends. It is a shame that it is a little off the main centre as I am sure it would be packed if it was, but I guess that they have cheaper rental rates by being here. it is only slightly out of the way but definitely worth making the effort to visit. We’ll definitely be going back to try other dishes.

Ordering was easy your handing a menus and a tick sheet which you just fill in and take to the bar to place an order the recommend 2-3 dished per person but we are so greedy and everything sounded great that we ended ordering 7 dishes, everything we ordered was delicious the Korean chicken was both of our favourite though, the food comes out very quickly so in hind sight we would next time order a couple of dishes at a time rather than all together other wise the food goes a bit cold, portions are a good size for sharing. This is a very different restaurant, a rustic place where you place your own order from a pencil provided on a bit of paper like multiple choice and go up to pay. The food comes out like tapas and I must say that the food was amazing. Have not a clue what I ordered but the variation and different tastes was something special. We are defo going back. A special shout out to the lady which was head of house, she was very polite and had great banter with us all. She made the whole experience one which was a memorable one. Great place, so if you are reading this book in now.

I was lucky enough to be able to try every dish on the menu due to being in a party of 5. I would highly recommend the food here, it is very urban/street and I would also recommend you go in completely open-minded as they have clearly tried to keep the autheticity of 'street food' as best they can, even down to how you order. The ONLY negative I would perhaps add is, when there is a group of you and you are ordering more than one dish per person, it would be good to be provided with plastic plates or something (trying to keep it 'street' with a 'plastic' plate), only because, obviously they re-use the baskets and so were taking these from under us before we had finished the dish, it was just that we had taken the food out to eat if that makes sense. Nothing major, just would have helped with a big party is all.Staff were friendly, possibly had a newby on the team as he seemed a bit perplexed when we spoke to him, but we can be confusing so it couldn't be helped.Thank you for a wonderful experience,I hope you keep it going and I hope to be back again soon :)

So we passed by yesterday & decided to pop in for lunch. Both my other half & I work in the Foodservice industry so we love to see new inde's opening, especially when they offer something different (as you don't get too much of this in Northampton). We picked 6 dishes to share and they were all really good. The gyoza's were very similar to a place that we go to in Brixton market which is bloody brilliant as we now don't have to travel so far! We couldn't fault the food what so ever. The only disappointment that we had and why I've given a 3 and not higher was the time the food took to come out. I understand that each dish is cooked to order & that each item will be brought out when ready but it took just under 2 hours for all of the food to come out. There was 1 guy waiting on people & 1 chef. It turns out quite a few of us all turned up within a few minutes of each other so the kitchen was overwhelmed. I felt for the 2 guys working there (we sat in the front so we could see through to the kitchen & the front of house constantly). They were both stressed, both rushing around non stop, some customers were giving the waiter a bit of a hard time and there was nothing they could do about it but work through it and more and more orders kept piling in. So great if your the business owner but not so great for the 2 guys there. It was a Saturday lunch time just after pay day so I'd have thought more staff would be on. Soooo cracking food, but a little under staffed. We'll go back, but probably only stay if it's quieter

I spotted this place by accident the other week and couldn't wait to go. It's a little out of the way and I've never seen any advertising but we went last night. The decor is quite industrial and very cosy. I would not suggest going here if you want a private conversation. There's a perch along one side so you can look out into the street and this is where we sat. I tried to work out where the heating was but it was boiling where we were sitting. We ordered teriyaki chicken skewers, fried chicken, pork BBQ gua bao, pork gyoza and for drinks we had a day of the dead and kingdom beer. The food arrives in bits which is great as you are not overwhelmed with it all turning up at once. You get chopsticks or a wooden knife and fork like you get in chip shops. I quite like this as it's in keeping with the street food theme. So let's cover the beers first. Mine was quite crisp and refreshing but not very cold to start with so by the end it had gone warm and wasn't very nice. My boyfriends Day of the dead beer from Mexico had a funny tang to it and also wasn't very cold. He actually left some which is unheard of.I would highly recommend the fried chicken although it states 8 pieces and references KFC. This is nothing like KFC be warned. These are small chunks of chicken covered in batter and fried. It comes in a spicy sauce and with sesame seeds and is blooming gorgeous. The mooli salad with it is crunchy and lovely and this dish was by far our favourite. I really loved the pork gyoza and have to say we're better than most of the ones I've had in Chinese restaurants recently. The pork gua bao were quite stodgy and could have had a bit more sauce. The crunchy peanuts were great though. I don't really know what to say about the skewers as they were more like very tasty gyros that you get in Greek places. As a teriyaki chicken skewer it didn't have a lot of flavour and was lacking in stickiness. All in all I will definitely be going back but I always feel in places that try to do a variety of ethnic foods that they sometimes miss the mark.

What is it with Northampton??? The last year or so has seen some really good restaurants and bars open up.... Rather than the usual identikit chain restaurants.I popped in here with my wife for a quick midweek lunch, the service was quick, the food fantastic its just what the doctor ordered. We had 3 dishes which we shared between ourselves. The menu is simple but well done. It's reasonably priced as well, I've paid a lot more for far worse service and food.I would love to return at the weekend as I reckon this place would be a great to have something to eat before going "out out" in town.Definitely one to go back too...

Situated opposite the Errol Flyn cinema, this is a great place to have an early supper.we arrived at 5.45 - only to find that hey don't open til 6!!! Amazingly, the charming barman opened the door, invited us in, delivered drinks to keep us going whilst alerting the kitchen that they needed to get cooking! Can't imagine many other places doing this, can you? The urban decor is well done and makes a real change for Northampton, which is usually traditional, to be kind. Despite the recent critical review, we really enjoyed out meal. We ordered three dishes each and could not finish them completely. I agree that the cheese on the corn was not great. We would have preferred it with just the spices and reported that back to the kitchen. Also the rice with the skewers was not really needed and was too heavy to eat. The rest was really tasty, different and, as I know no better, it did not bother me that the recipes we're 'not well researched'. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we finished with coffee and Portuguese tarts, served hot with blueberries - they were gorgeous. A great start to our evening and definitely a venue we will return to and recommend.

Informal street food restaurant with post-industrial interiors and a menu covering street food from all over the world. The ordering system consists of ticking boxes on a very small menu and ordering as many dishes as you like. Each dish is £5, which is a lot for some of the dishes, but quite reasonable for others. A rather hungry person can feel full after ordering three portions and spending £15, so not too bad. Unfortunately the food is not as good as the premise. Firstly, the menu covers way too many cuisines: Mexican, Kenyan, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and so on. This is way too ambitious, and the recipes seem improvised and barely researched. Mexican corn with feta and paprika? Gyoza, which the menu says are Chinese?A bit of feedback on the dishes which we ordered:- As mentioned above, the Mexican corn was made following a wrong recipe.- The yakitori skewers were well seasoned, but they were drier than sand. They come with rice which is also dry and overcooked- The cassava chips' texture was spot-on, beautiful and crisp, but they lacked seasoning and were therefore almost flavourless- The gyoza/jiaozi were ok. Perhaps a bit small for £5, but flavour and texture were alright - nothing that you can't find in any Chinese takeaway though- The bao was the biggest disappointment as it was almost inedible. The dough was clearly undercooked, inelastic and chewy, lacking the required fluff. Bao dough should retract when touched, this one would deform at the touch! Moreover the filling consisted of one tiny fried prawn and a mouthful of spring onion. My advice: keep things simple, focus on one cuisine (or a fusion of two) and especially avoid serving dishes which you haven't researched enough. With a revised menu this place has some potential, and the service is friendly.

I'm so shocked and disheartened to read some of the negative reviews on this amazing place I was lucky enough to eat at. My suggestion to those expecting bog standard, processed, unimaginative food, is stick to the major restaurant chains because your palette isn't ready! Now where do I start, this place is cool, quirky and enticing! The staff were friendly, helpful and took there time explaining the different dishes on the menu and how to go about ordering. Although small, the menu was perfect in size given the fact each dish was made to order. We tried 6 dishes in total (photo attached) and each one was absolutely spectacular! 3 of the 6 were dishes I'd never tried before and I would suggest people to be spontaneous with your choices because believe me it pays off!I really hope you guys succeed because this by far is one of the best places I have eaten at in Northampton and I can't wait to return!

Bit of a hard one for me as I really like the place and I love what the owners are going for. It's nice to have somewhere a bit different in Northampton, and a lot of effort has clearly gone into the look of the place. Top marks for that. The problem for me is how limited the menu is, especially for non meat-eaters. I was pretty envious of what my meat eating friends had on offer when we went in for lunch, and wished there was something a bit more interesting for me to try. With such a small menu, I'd expect it to be updated quite frequently to keep things fresh which doesn't seem to be the case. On the plus side, there's a great selection of beers and the staff were all really friendly. I hope this place sticks around because it's a nice addition to the town, just please diversify your menu so that I can join in on the culinary fun next time :)

Convenient for pre-theatre/Errol Flynn filmhouse visits, Foodies.ricks is based on street food. With a small menu (around 9 savoury and 2 sweet dishes), and everything priced at a fiver, it's a good value option to rival the ubiquitous pizza and pasta chains. Most savoury dishes have an Asian influence, with one Mexican, and hispanic-based puds.We found 4 dishes between two was sufficient.Interesting choice of beers, plus wine and tasty smoothies available.I loved the industrial decor, but am probably not in the target group for the background music...thankfully it became just that as the restaurant filled up.I'll certainly be going back.

This newbie to Northampton is an absolute gem. Decorated in a real raw style, very London feel and a great welcome from the server. You choose from a selection of small street food dishes and could either eat a portion to yourself or go the whole hog and order the complete menu and share. All dishes are £5 each which in my opinion is really reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive. It's also delicious. We had the Chicken Yakitori Skewers, this was the only dish that I though needed work, the chicken was slightly dry, however the rest of the menu was delicious. Really nice mix of spices and different tastes. A fruit smoothie is a must and the energy balls are stunning. We bought 5 as we were going to a relatives and they got polished off within minutes. Overall this restaurant brings something a little different to Northampton and has a refreshing vibe. We will definitely return and maybe try their movie or live music night. I really wAnt these new places in our small minded town to work. The town needs investment and creativity.People need to open their minds and embrace new stuff. We would if people got it right. This is not one of them that gets it right. Building ok. Window design clever but unwelcoming from outside and makes inside dingy.....not industrial. Industrial can look classy and light. The door behind the table by toilets very bad and awful to sit by as trundles backwards and forwards across your back to reveal loos during lunch. You feel in the way. Owners nice and I can see their objectives but...Street food tasty, quick, delicious and plentiful. This food is not high quality and not that well executed. The limited menu offers fairly bland. Street food always makes me feel like I've been treated and this does not. Expensive too. Tiny amounts of each dish for £5 so very limited lunch (4 tiny dishes), coffee and a small wine came to £27. That's not street food prices with those portions. Price accordingly. There is no reason for street good not to work indoors either but be casual. Essentially the shoreditch food markets Foodies covet are a mix of indoors and outdoors and really work. Be generous, or appropriately priced, and have staff who know their stuff. Then you become a destination. Not the trial we had, wanted new and great, got dated and average at best. I really think, before this flops, some serious attention needs to be given to customer service and the offering. Foodies seems greedy at the moment, a bit disinterested and that's wrong when you are meant to be luring customers in with delicious street food. The concept is there and should work. Street food can be quick, filling and tasty on your way out or in. Leisurely with friends on a proper night out. Cater for all.

In a nutshell:This place is going to have to pull a rabbit out of the hat if it is going to survive the Winter. Food (for us) was non-existant - although 3 people out of the 12 seemed to have some form of dish (one of which kept getting sent back) - staff have zero idea about customer relationships and service, management was not present (except to speak to friends which popped in) and the menu is over-priced and very limited. Let us know how the food is if you ever get any!For the full account:Well, after my partner and I went to see some very average horror at the pictures, we decided to give Foodies Rocks a shot as it was opening night. Now, don't get me wrong, I had some pork cooking to perfection in the slow cooker, but as I've been following Foodies Rocks on Facebook and seen some of their posts, I was really excited to go. In-fact, I prematurely organised my birthday there (just with friends, no booking yet) - jokes now, as that'll never happen after this evening.Right, so we rock up to this uber-cool looking join, and it's exactly my type of decor. Whilst it draws similarities with other street food places I frequent, it has a bit of an edge for Northampton! We were instantly greeted by a pleasant waitress - tick - and shown to our table...and it all went very wrong from there!Okay, so for opening night, I'm usually pretty forgiving because it's expected there may be a few hiccups with the food, that the staff may not be super-efficient and that there's always going to be someone who looks like they've been slapped with a wet fish...well, 40 minutes later that was me grrr. To compensate for some of these given pitfalls, you can usually bet your bottom dollar that the management will be on-point, that the staff will be extremely attentive (even if they don't get it right) and there'll be some form of reduction on the bill, or a voucher to encourage you to come again once any feedback has been rectified - hahaha definitely not in this case.Getting back to the experience, we were sat down and it was explained to us that we need to fill out the order form and pay at the counter - fine. Thing is, I think this place is trying to go premium as each of the 12 dishes were £5 - basically a similar price to Wagamama's without the reputation. That's pretty steep for street food, but I guess if you align it with tapas it matches up. Thing is, whilst the menu may have some intriguing items, I felt it did not live up to expectations as there was a total lack of things like burritos etc - missing a trick there! Before going, I really wanted it to fill Northampton's void of a good Mexican, and whilst the other items seemed okay, the menu overall lacked soul. Oh, and if you think you can ask for a Coke, Coke Zero or even a Pepsi...think again. They do have some craft brand but, give me a time a small brand stood up and won against Coke...oh yeah, never! As time passed by, we noticed nobody else was eating apart from one table (the manager's friends it seemed); oh and another lady who sent food back. After 20 minutes or so, a few dishes trickled out to one of the tables - of course they were incorrect, cold and had to be sent back, and I was now hungry. I looked at the menu and it clearly stated (which i missed earlier) that street food is made to order and will take about 20 minutes - longest street food I've ever had. I then decided to play a little game and see how much longer than 20 minutes it would be. At 45 minutes I asked the waitress, who coincidently had ignored us for the longest time, how long it would be; it was at this point she took the bill back, went to management and responded with "oh sorry, it'll be another 20 minutes, is that okay!?" Err, well no, it's absolutely not okay but before I go on to that, I want to point out that they leave the bill on your table (after you pre-pay) and cross the items off as and when they arrive - much less subtle than Wagas, and it's actually really irritating.Anyway, back to it. Well, after that silly comment, we responded with "no, it is absolutely not okay, can we have the money back." Normally, a trained team member would then get the manager over - this did not happen - or the person at the till would at least try and pacify the customer in some way - again WRONG. So, yeah, they just let us walk out the door after not receiving any food or service for nearly an hour! This place is 100% going to fail by Christmas if it doesn't up it's game, train staff, think about the customer, extend the menu and stop playing that GOD awful music - seriously, if you're not a student this place is not for you! I feel strongly enough about it that I would advise anyone not to go but, should you choose to do so, don't pre-empt it being a decent venue for a gathering (like a birthday) as it's likely you'll be VERY disappointed! As for my dinner, that slow cooker really came through for me tonightRant over

Always come here for soup. Nowhere sells soup like Caribbean Jerk. Delicious every time.

Amazing food. Fast efficient, service and delivery. The food arrived boiling hot which was excellent. Lovely delivery lady too, polite and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed all dishes. Thank you for a delicious meal.
