Was doing a pit stop visit from Manchester to Northampton and needed a good Caribbean fix for family and was recommended this place - was delighted with the food and print service, especially would recommend the jerk chicken!

We are newly weds who were so blessed to have Big Mike cater for our wedding reception and as always- the food was amazing! Really great top quality authentic Caribbean food..just what we wanted. It was the talk of the party and we was asked so many times who did the food?! I would also like to highlight how excellent the customer service was as planning a wedding was stressful but we kept in contact, they called when promised and made us feel like a priority even when they had other engagements going on. Big Mikes is back open, wishing you well, amazing food and unbelievable value. Tonight we had Jerk Chicken, Salt Fish, rice and peas, coleslaw and Dumplings and as always it was delicious, we always go to Big Mikes and he has also provided catering for us on family events and whether a take away or larger event the food cannot be beaten.

Big Mike's recently catered for an 80 person birthday party event. We had curry goat, curry chicken, rice and pease, plain rice, mac cheese, Coleslaw and friend dumplings. A true carribean feast it was. The food was hot, tasty, and great value for money. I could not have asked for any better. Great food, great communication, great service and great prices. Will be definitely using his services again.

Amazing. Nothing more really needs to be said, but it's 100 characted minimum so lets go. People on the phone were very nice and accomodating, excellent knowledge of their menu, the price is absolutely excellent (if they were to increase their prices - I'd still be buying.) The food was absolutely SPOT ON. The best curry goat I have ever eaten and the wings were to die for. Delievery lady was very polite and had a joke with me on my doorstep. Honestly all round - 11/10 will 100% be oredering from here in the future! Keep it up Big Mike's, I've recommended you to all of my family and friends.

We had food for 100 for my nephews funeral, the food was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and we didn't have to worry about a thing, we had a mixed crowd attend, all ages and some had never tried carribean food before but everyone absolutely loved it, cannot give high enough praise and will book again for a happier occasion, thank you so much

I drove 30 minutes to get this food and it was worth it. All the food was amazing, I got ackee & salt fish, curry goat, curried chicken with rice n peas, dumplings and plantain. Everything was incredible and still hot when I got back to eat, you know the food was good when you’re sad it’s all gone. Get to Big Mike’s for great food and value for money!

Usually one bad review can totally turn me off ordering but glad I did not listen to the review below, since moving to Northampton I’m yet to find a decent take away but yesterday that changed, food was nice, delivery was prompt good portion size for the price, only downfall dumplings was a little too salty but overall best I’ve tried so far!!

Time for my annual review of Big Mike's: Still great. Still undefeated in Northampton. All dishes are made to perfection and give that good, home cooking feeling.

We had the best food from here enjoyed by all the family. Brown stew chicken was tasty and fell off bone. Rice was fresh. Curried goat was lovely. Jerk chicken is not for the faint hearted but great. Dumplings coleslaw plantain all delicious. Couldn’t fault anything and will definitely be a regular customer now. Thankyou.

I only gave 1 star as theres nothing less I could give them as would have got a -10. Jerk chicken was nasty look like brown stew chicken and had no taste just hot and your mouth on fire. The worst I've ever had. Not every one can do jerk chicken and you just proved that. I advise anyone to dont go there and waste your money. Avoid as these people can not cook. The fish also smells and taste off. NASTY. This is never caribbean food cooked by caribbean people

Im still sat at the dinner table writing this, amazing... everything we ordered was spot on, curried goat, jerk chicken, mixed veg, dumpings,rice and peas and mac and cheese!!!! So cheap aswell, i may well be back over the weekend to try some other dishes! Well done guys, excellent food!!

Escovitch fish was seasoned with too much hot pepper, spoilt the taste and the curry goat was too salty. Very disappointed with the food.

I was privileged to taste Big Mikes jerk chicken and curried goat along with some rice n pea. I have to say it was the best goat i have ever tasted, my wife and kids could not get enough of it. My says the jerk chicken was amazing and we will be back very soon to taste Mikes delights.Keep doing what your doing Mike as it scrumptious.

Have only got the Jerk chicken and having tried all other Caribbean places in Northampton this has to be the best, not to forget the spiciest too! Piping hot every time and generous portions too! Downfall is that the hours in which they operate isn’t every day of the week and from what remember only operate for a few hours.

Authentic Carribbean food , full of flavour , good portions,if you decide to pick up your food it's really strange like you have to sit in the front room of Thier house while they cook your food in the kitchen, so yeh that's a little bizare but again makes its even more authentic right ? Or you can have it delivered anyway , would highly recommend big mikes

The food from here is amazing. Full of flavour and the meat just falls off of the bone. Great portion size aswell. Collection recommended if you can.

This homemade take away is the towns gem. Forget your Turtle Bay's, this is real Carribean food, home cooked with fresh quality ingredients. The menu is small but oh so good, there is nothing that is not delicious. The Johnny cakes are amazing and the homemade coleslaw is sensational. The meat falls off the bone in all of their dishes, their is literally nothing not to Love. We always collect so we ensure our food is piping hot but they do offer a delivery service which we have never used. The food is superb value. Give it a try.

Northampton has recently had all these CARRIBEAN restaurants and food shops open and I've probably tried all of them and nothing like Mike's portions are great value for money delivery to me could be faster but for what food you get my partner and I never hesitate to wait

We were looking for a takeaway one Friday night & found Big Mike's. We ordered jerk chicken, curried goat, escovitch fish, dumplings, mac & cheese & coleslaw; it was a lot of food! All great & we will definitely be ordering again :)

Bueno, yo tenía un gran pollo Jerk, albóndigas, col y plátano. Los sabores donde increíbles. Cada poco de esta comida era deliciosa. El pollo se cayó del hueso, el jerk era agradable y picante. El arroz y guisantes tenía sabor. La col era perfectamente mezclado y sauced. Pero las bolas de mi dios, el buñuelo son inmensas. Hay bolas de las mejores que he comido. Todos llegamos bien y calientes por un conductor de entrega encantadora señora.

Comida muy auténtico. Un poco decepcionado con el Mac y queso, pero que no relegar nuestras otras opciones de menú. El pescado estaba bien cocinada y sazonada. El arroz era perfecto y el plátano perfectamente cocinada.

First time take away, food came within the hour, was hot tasty and delicious!! So much of it for the money, would definitely recommend. The goat curry and chicken wings in particular!

Had a takeaway delivered, mine curry chicken, rice and peas, my partner's curry goat, rice and peas, with some fried chicken and spicy chicken wings on the side. Absolutely delicious, the most tender chicken and goat, beautifully flavoured sauce on my chicken. We both really enjoyed our meal and wouldn't hesitate in recommending Big Mikes.

Just decided out of the blue to have a take away & the other half suggested caribbean. Tried The Dutch Pot before & ended up waiting over an hour after pre-ordering it, so wasn't going there. Remembered one of the other half's friends telling us about this man who cooks it at home. Looked on Tripadvisor & thought it has to be Big Mike's. couldn't decide what to have so we ordered the chicken curry, jerk chicken & stew chicken (all regular) & they come with a choice of plain rice or rice (& peas & a portion of dumplings. Be ready for you in half hour the lovely man said. Found it no problem. You're invited in to their house to collect your order & it smelt amazing. Couldn't believe how much he had managed to fit into each box. The chicken just fell off the bone & they all tasted fabulous. The dumplings were the best. Will definitely be visiting Mike again next time we have caribbean & recommending him to friends & family.

Beautiful, authentic Caribbean food. We had the jerk chicken, curry goat, spicy wings and dumplings, all of which were beautiful. The mac and cheese pie transported me back to Barbados where we had our honeymoon. Will be visiting again soon and recommending to friends!

This is a takeaway service business run from a home. So you would expect to be a homely cuisine and taste. So here is my view..First, the positives: Meat was well cooked and was falling off the bone, just how it should be. Plantain was very good. The fried dumplings (first time I tried them) were also very good. However, the saltiness of the main dishes let everything down.You could EASILY use HALF AS MUCH OF SALT as there was in the food and it would still be at the average takeaway salt level (higher than home made levels but still OK). I would not have eaten food this salty if I was in a restaurant, I would have asked the Chef to make another dish without any salt so that I could add it myself. I was hungry and so I ate as much as I could.

Delicious food, very reasonable prices for what you get and the delivery service is always prompt and friendly.

Cant get enough of big mikes cooking! We have ordered many times and the food is consistantly excellent. We always collect and have always found the service very polite and welcoming. Portions are generous, great value for money! Ive tried others and for me this is the best caribbean in town...by a long way!

Since the demise of Mr Dutchy I have had to rely on London for my Caribbean food fix. But not any longer. Big Mike's can only be described as a revelation. Excellent home cooked food in ample portions with very reasonable prices. We ordered Jerk Chicken, Stew Chicken, Plaintain, Fried Chicken, Dumplings and coleslaw and all were fantastic. The only let down were the fries that were clearly just oven chips. However this did not detract from my overall experience and I will definitely eat here again.

We've ordered from Big Mikes a few times and have always been pleased with the food and service. I really love the stew chicken and the fish. But whatever you choose also get the mix veg and mac cheese. And it always goes down nicely with a Guinness punch! Well done Big Mikes

The Delivery time was fine as was explained on the phone it would take 2 hours, but when i opened our curried goats one was meant to be large an one medium i was very very disapointed in the portion sizes.They where just over half full, an there was really no diffrence between the Medium & Large. So really dissapointed as i may aswell have ordered 2 medium, and the Medium were small aswell Never had this problem before. Really really dissapointed , But on a positive food was nice , but not good when your still hungry due to portion sizes

The food here is amazing! We had Jerk Chicken, Goat Curry, Chicken Stew with a number of starters. Every dish was so tasty. We have just returned from the Caribbean and this was as good as the best meals we had when away and better than most.Cant wait to get a takeaway from this place again in the near future. We thought it was good value. We spent just over £30 and have plenty left over.

So we fancied a change from the same old Chinese/Indian takeaway..Having been recommended Big Mikes from a chef buddy, we browsed over the online menu and gave it a shot..And wow.. What a great choice..Fabulous authentic food..Fresh, good size portions and a cheerful service with a smile.. What's not to like..

Have literally just finished my first meal from Big Mike's. What an experience! Recommended to us by a friend, we weren't too sure what to expect. This was quite simply amazing! I love Caribbean food and this is the best I've eaten by far. You have to go and try something here, we just ordered goat and jerk chicken, rice and peas with both dishes and a mac and cheese on the side. Beautiful! We shared and couldn't even finish the portions. We ordered the large sizes, fab value! Can't wait to try something else from the menu. And the staff were really friendly - delivery was soooo quick! Kudos to Big Mike's - thanks for bringing your home cooked wonders to Northampton!
