The food bangs every visit, never misses

Been here a few times, always a lovely experience. Staff are always very nice and polite. Best Caribbean food I’ve had in Northampton by far, each time I’ve been the food taste like it’s made with love. Highly recommend the oxtail and brown stew chicken, loads of flavour, good moisture and succulent. Great portions too and decently priced. Will definitely be coming again.

Tiny portions . No side , 16 pounds for oxtail they could give you a little pasta or coleslaw.

Bought the Large Oxtail and Large Curry Goat, was 30mins later than the latest delivery time which was already an hour after order, so a total of 1 hr 30mins waiting. Now the worst bit. Both the LARGE Oxtail and LARGE Curry Goat cost £16.25 each but the containers were only half filled! On top of that, the sauce is more oil than sauce on both! Called up the restaurant to confirm they did deliver the correct order/size and apparently they did and were not very sympathetic to us at all. All this without even tasting the food so let me do that now... ... It's oily. It tastes ok but difficult to get past that oil. Also it is cold and didn't come with any complimentary salad. So overall it was late, small, cold, expensive and not really impressive. We are a Caribbean family and we're disappointed. Our usual caribbean takeaway is closed for a period but we'll be going back there.

Took 2 hours to arrive - food was cold. Don’t expect to have to warm food up. 3 stars for the Jerk chicken. What little meat was tasty but mainly bones. Curry chicken was mainly bones - greasy and watery and was binned. Rice and peas was bland. Portion sizes for large are measly. First time ordering, so disappointed and won’t be ordering again. Overpriced - £32 wasted.

I asked for a large with dark meat general come with breast. Vex. When youre hungry and people mess with your food it's serious. Jerk chicken was nice, some of my favourite if I live in Northampton I'd be a regular. I can't stand bad attitude when man (or woman) serve you food - as if they are doing you a favour. Go easy big boss this isnt yard, bad man will wrap up your tings easy and you won't even know who done it.

Robbed at carnival and no staff interested to resolve my query. £17 for one portion chicken, rice and plantain?! Just awful, and rude.

Where does one start? Ordered at 7:30pm for 8:30 collection. I arrived at 8:40, staff had no clue to what I ordered and where the order came from. Food was cold. The rice and peas was most certainly off (spoilt) had the smell and taste. Portion sizes are great tho and the price is good. My chicken curry was nice but the rice for sure had been made days before and left out in the open. Has not been 6hours yet and I’m already bound to the toilet seat.

Ordered regular oxtail rice n peas. 3 x Honey chicken. 3 xFried chicken and coleslaw. The price should of been £19 the man charged me £21 I told him it was £19 he said price has changed.Informed him that its not changed on.the board or on the takeaway list 😕. So he overcharged me £2.00 Food - The oxtail gravy was very watery but flavours was nice The rice was lukewarm.I didnt like coleslaw with sweetcorn. Only thing I enjoyed was the fried chickens ..Sorry caribbean Jerk I've ordered from you before but wasn't impressed today.

It’s 1.5hrs and I still haven’t received my food from when I ordered it and now it’s saying it’s been delivered and it hasn’t. It makes ordering fast food pointless.

So on a wet Thursday night walking home in the rain I needed some dinner. So I always wanted to try one of Northamptons Jamacian cuisine so I stopped in. Service was great. Charged me for a medium size but gave me a large. Got home and ate it and it tasted lovely. What I didn't know would happen is that I would be on and off the toilet most of the following day. Really left a bad experience 😔

I've ordered from this place as it claims to be a Jamaican restaurant. The quality and portion of the food that I received was very far from authentic Jamaican food. The service on the telephone when I called to relate that I'm not happy with the food, was very much NOT caring. I was simply told to request a refund. The person who spoke to me does not have the interest of this restaurant at heart. I will not be purchasing again and I will be requesting a refund as they have advised. Thank you.

We are complete newbies to Jamaican cuisine so we decided to try a variety dishes. The owner /chef was really helpful with choosing and we didnt have to wait long. We weren't disappointed ! All the meats were deliciously tender and the curry and jerk spices were on the nail, with just the right amount of heat. If you do want to eat-in be warned the seating is limited, so best check first.

Really delicious but far too expensive for what you got. Only a few mouthfuls of chicken in what was meant to be a large portion almost all bones.

Unfortunately the rice and peas was not cooked properly it was hardwhich let whole meal down..

I have purchased basically the same meals from CJ for about 4 years and on the last few occasions I have noticed an inverse relationship between the cost of the meal and the size of the portions I.e. portions have got smaller as the cost has risen. Having just this week purchased 4 meals at the average cost of £11.30 where the portions were minuscule and the customer service even more lacking I will not be patronising this establishment in the future. The excuse of increased cost for materials and energy is acceptable only up to a certain point. I also have increased costs to juggle with so one thing I will be cutting back on is large prices for small portions of below average food and poor customer service.

It tastes like really great homemade food. Good portions too. I’ve done the whole menu and it’s all really tasty.

10/10 only place il eat caribbean food outside my house in Northampton

The food is great but the delivery is always late. I usually ignore that but today has taken 2hrs 30mins since I ordered. And counting.

Terrible , £60 order , replaced orders with substitutes without informing us , portion sizes were disgusting and so expensive for what they were , cold food and very argumentative when rang up to speak to, do not order from here ever !!!!

Delivery was late but it was Friday rush hour and the food was still warm. Order all correct and well packaged. Average portion sizes and the food was okay. Patties are a bit sweet for my taste, and the stew and curry were a bit thin but the flavours were good and I liked the sweetcorn in the coleslaw.

Not the same quality I remember Ordered marble cake Got some sort of dry chocolate/ brown cake The plantain was over ripe came in a paper bag and it was all stuck together. The caliloo was oily and had big chunks of onions in it. On the plus side the chicken soup was yummy.

Food was 1 hour late, restaurant hung up the phone when we finally got through to them and then took at least another 5 calls to get back through to them. Delivery guy was sent to the wrong address so had to wait even longer after finally getting through to them. Yes they gave us fresh food but we ordered at 7:40pm and didn't receive our food until 9:40pm. Its a Monday night, its not a busy night for food delivery, there is little to no excuse for a 2 hour wait and the phone being hung up on us. Delivery driver was lovely and did his best to rectify for us but restaurant service was appauling

Order from here all the time but very disappointed with it this time food was covered with a layer of oil taste of pure oil not what I expected normally spot on will not be ordering again from here

Well i have to say when the restaurant called to say that the fried chicken wasn't available. I chose sea bass. That was ok. The rice and peas was quite dry.

I really enjoyed my meal. I had ackee & saltfish with plain rice. It arrived still hot. It was very tasty. Will order again. I also had Jamaican rum cake, now that was beautiful. 10 out 10 all round. Thank you to the cheif.

Quick friendly delivery. Order all correct, hot and well packaged. Good portion sizes. Patties are a bit sweet for my tastes but nice flaky pastry and plenty of filling. Fritters were absolutely amazing, definitely getting those again. Coleslaw was a bit watery but ok. Dumplings were absolutely perfect and was glad to see 3 medium sized balls in the bag. Chicken stew wasn’t what I was expecting, it had no veg, just chicken, and sauce was a bit oily but the flavours were great and there was loads of meat. The curry goat was spot on. Really enjoyed the food and now I’m absolutely stuff 😁. Cheers.
