Street Taste Co in Leicester

I have never seen worse service than here. I been there for dinner and asked twice for table to clean the just clean the table with tissue still table was to dirty. As I have already paid for my food I have to take my food and taste was not even near to Indian street food. I would not recommend this for the person who is looking for proper Indian food.

Special samosa chaat was absolutely delicious! Very helpful and friendly staff. Will be visiting again 👍🏼

I would definitely recommend this restaurant to Coconut water/ Ice cream fans. This is the best Coconut water I have tried in Leicester as me and my family have come from London. Used to be amazing but their prices have gone up and their food has gone down! You would expect to receive what you paid for but here? No chance! Not to mention the lady lied about not having a card machine but was actually hiding it behind one of the menus and once we had told her we had no cash whatsoever, she told me to go to a cash point and once we said we would just leave it, she then let us pay by card. Their portions are horrendous. The sugar canes they use were left on the dirty floor. Took absolutely forever to serve us and there was no one waiting besides us. Ice cream was barely ok. Please do not come here and go to the mr whippy van instead.

Absolutely shocking service, never even making the mistake of going in there. Stood inside for around 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. Completely ignored and left standing there thinking are they just too rude for my custom? Only after all to be told kitchen is closed. Shocking service from a place that’s clearly gone way above its capacity

Everything looked so good. However the chips were very soft. Bombay sandwich only had cheese and cucumber. Sugarcane juice was like lemon water. Very disappointed wouldn’t recommend even 1%.

Pani puri and sev puri were strictly ok, was given the wrong ice cream flavour and charged more for it!

I went first time ordered chilli near spicy and vada pav vada pav was okay, but the chilli chilli was tasteless . It seems like I eat sugar. No nothing just sugar too much sweet. I spent my money and what they gave me more importance no sitting place over crowded place. I paid for them, really nothing. Zero taste.

Used to visit this place frequently at least twice a week for the ice cream rolls and ice dish gola. Unfortunately after my visit today the new management who's on the shop front is very rude and abrupt with zero customer service skills, card machine not working and the once excellent service and food seems to have disappeared. Ice dish gola now only comes in one flavour as seen in picture. A real big shame as previous management cared about quality in the food and customer service provided.

Service is ridiculous. Staff behind the till have a seriously attitude problem. They also lie about not having a card machine! She was actually hiding the card machine behind a menu and then let me pay by card when I insisted I had no cash! Come on man, pay your taxes! Her excuse was that they are transitioning to cash only! Shouldn’t it be the other way around??!

I would definitely recommend the rolled ice cream! Rose Kunafa flavour is the one we got, but there's a wide range of flavours.

I visited this place yesterday, worst place ever. I stopped visiting restaurents based on Rating in Google, but I regret this decision. We ordered an ice cream, Samosa chat and a paneer sandwich. Ice cream as other reviews say, it is good. Samosa chat is completely soaked in curd no taste except curd. They dint even ask for any preferences. And the worst part is Paneer Sandwich, I got stomach upset, also I might need a visit to A&E. The worst place I ever visit in UK.

The most distrusting service ever the owner the lady with the cap she’s soo rude roles her eyes and despite if you pay first she will serve other people such a rude place and left the ice cream unattended served other people

I came in today for Bhaji pav and some sides , the guy working there didn’t ask me for extra pav and charged extra .. upon asking behaved very rudely and told me off and angrily took the extra out.. I asked very nicely instead he should have behaved well and convinced me for the same . Such a worst behaviour and bad customer service .. plus the food was extra oily and stale pavs .. waste of money .. very disappointed.

I had a very bad experience the other day. Would not recommend to anybody. The staff was very rude. And to top it off, the food was absolutely waste of money . Ordered a pav bhaji and got a stale pav and the bhaji was gross.

I’ve been coming here for years since they opened , and the service was good as staff before but today we decided to go there get a ice cream and few other bits I was disappointed with the lady’s service firstly we stood there and the lady behind the corner acted if we was invisible. Then after we made the order she stated it’s cash only so we had around 20 pounds in cash and the bill was 21.50 then she said you can pay 1.50 by card but which don’t make no sense at all ? It seems as she didn’t want to be there or have our custom so we ended up walking away and going to another place down the road great ice cream desserts and Indian snacks but need to sort out your process if you can take £1.50 on card why not take the full payment. So it’s not a cash only business you just take cash or card how you feel . The excuse was that they are changing terminals ? Not happy as we specially came to Belgrave road to have the coconut warter and ice cream with it. Please sort out your payment issues and staff need to be more cheerful.

we experience 2nd time the quality of food was not good , taste was not good , its looks like they are using old food products like when we ordered vada pav it’s getting sticky, the pav and green chutney was used expired as well as sandwiches taste was bad,mango lassi was bad taste , don’t use for food, only u can have ice cream there ,don’t compromised with your health, and not worth of money i will not going next time , cleaning of area was also bad

I used to order faloodas more and sometimes I would like some waffles and ice cream from this place, I would recommend this to everyone.

I have moved to UK in 2019. From then I tried different types of food outside in UK and I didn’t like much anywhere. Yesterday 26/04/2024 I tried Pav Bhaji & Samosa Chat each for £5 and the taste is really good. Quantity also very great. Thanks to Street Taste Co. I would like to visit again.

During my stay in Leicester we wanted to eat Paan but it was late and the Paan shop was closed so we came here to eat Paan Ice cream. I was in absolute heaven. The man that made it for us really incorporated the paan well into the ice cream. However I wanted to have it again before I left Leicester and it was a disappointment. A lady made it for us and the paan was not chopped and crushed like the first time. Having said that my first experience was good. There are so many flavours to try from so I would definitely recommend this place.

We ordered two sandwiches pizza one and Bombay No tast just a waist of money and time We ordered tandoori cheesy chips ( no tast ) Pani puri is so so ordinary

The place use to be great. Now the portion size is half what it use to be. No neat ice cream rolls! Would have expected more for £6 - see photo! Don’t waste your money.

I must say... Very quality street food in Leicester.

Just had 2 ice cream rolls (gulab jamun & rose ) & a rose falooda. The falooda was sour gone off completely had to bin it. Tried ringing them but no one answering.

One of the best places in Leicester. I tried their Ice Dish, panipuri, sandwich, paneer chilli and pavbhaji. Everything was as I expected. Would surely recommend.

I tried Recommended pan ice cream but I must say I am little disappointed with the overall taste. Price also bit high.

Giving one start because there's nothing below that, I ordered pav-bhaji and all I tasted was ginger, I gave it back saying I only taste ginger and they replied saying I have never had this complaint before. And than didn't responded back or same me any replacement food. Very very disappointed with the staff and food

Sugar cane juice was amazing- they made juice in front of us. Coconut juice was amazing and we could buy whole sugar cane too. Paninpuri and dabeli were good but the draw back is we had to eat outside to start with as we had dog with us ( tiny dog) so was not good experience as it was cold for us. Then we ordered for take out and the lady was kind enough to let us in with dog as it was freezing and the shop was empty- which was good. We took vadapav and paneer chips as take out and I specifically asked to make it mild and when we got home it was extremely spicy that we forced it down but was not pleasant experience due to spice. But would try again and hoping it will meet the reviews given by family.

Really disappointed with this place. We don’t take cash, yet card machine in front of them and they’d rather turn away £15 worth of food order or potentially could have ordered more. It’s a fast food restaurant and generally you order as you go along. Paid card before and wasn’t an issue then!

The food here was pretty good, very close to authentic Indian street food. The seating's a bit tight, but definitely worth a visit!

Terrible service this afternoon, the lady talking orders for just 1 sugar cane drink was miserable, waited for it to be served to someone who just placed an order. The guy finally gave the drink which had no lemon or masala, tried to ask him to put that in, he didn't understand anything. This place is with very bad staffing who don't look happy with their jobs.

Reasonable price and good food.. Bombay sandwich is really tasty. Also they have fresh sugarcane juice and very delicious coconut ice cream.

I was in the UK and had a craving for street food, especially for fries and burger. Panner chilli - It was mouth watering and delicious. Fries - well fried and tasty beyond the McDonald’s. Burger - delicious and fresh ingredients. Coconut jelly ice cream - live made in front of us. Manger took the order and food was served quick.

Disgusting- ordered a kinder shake and it was blended with bits of plastic in, I guess it’s from the wrappers- it shows they don’t care about the quality of their food. See picture. Absolutely disgusted.

Leicester's favorite snacking point for me last year. Memory just popped up into my Google photos, and I just want to appreciate wherever I visited. They literally created Indian street inside their restaurant. Totally Indian vibes. Very hygienic and maintained covid guidelines. I was in the UK and had a craving for street food, especially Vadapav. 😋 Here's a quick overview of what I've odered. Vadapav: Quality of food is first class, but I expected a little bit spicy. Sugar cane juice: Quality is so good. They run live machine for sugar cane extraction. Live fruit ice cream: They offer different flavors, especially coconut rolls.

Expect arguments over not having any malai in your coconut, would not replace with another. Apparently rather than give you the coconut they would give you malai after opening 2/3 other coconuts but rather not give another coconut to you but waste the water or drink it themselves. Even then the malai is hard like a dry coconut and theyl argue thats what it is and wont accept their coconuts are bad quality.

Sugarcane juice is too good here. You must come and drink this one specially.Vibes is good. Shop is little clumsy but drinks is excellent.

Gave this place 5 stars before but today walked in and wanted to make an order and the assistant was insisting on cash only and no card. Twice this has happened. So its obvious they do not accept card payments.

I ordered this on Uber eats for a little after dinner snack. I had the regular Pani Pury and the Pani Puri Icecream. Now let me Begin with the positives. The Pani puri icecream was a huge surprise, in a good way. It was rich and sweet, absolutely delicious, I would definitely order this again. The filling in the regular Pani out was flavourful with a nice kick to it. Now these are some positives, however they are marred by two extreme negatives. One, the order arrived late, it kept being delayed and delayed and by the time it arrived I was kind of not in the mood for it. Now the main issue I had. One of the main components that makes pani Puri what it is, is the Pani part of it. The sauce/water which is meant to enhance the flavour of the pani puri to a whole other level. Now the pani which I recieved I have to be honest. It was absolutely disgusting. It had a revolting taste, sour lack of fragrance, it tasted like it had gone off. It was as if green urine had been sent to my house. I can hand on heart say it was the worst pani I have ever had with a pani Puri. Luckily I Had some of my own that I had bought at a shop so I had my pani Puri with another pani. The fact I had to do that I have to say is an embarrassment to this establishment. It tasted as if it had been sitting on the shelf for months. I may order fro this place again but I certainly won’t be ordering their pani Puri again.

Tried Gola, Sugarcane Juice & Pani Puri. It was worth the money. Portion of Pani Puri is far better than what other restaurants serve in that lane. All the 3 items were authentic in taste 😁

MEDIOCRE FOOD IN A FILTHY ENVIRONMENT. Went in at 12 midday today for the first time. Ordered a Pani Puri, Vada Pau and a Bombay Sandwich. The Pani Puri filling was cold straight out of the fridge. They could have warmed it up a little. I've had better in Leicester The Vada Pau was ok. Nothing special. Missing the crunchy garlic crumb so everything was the same mushy texture. No ambi on it if that's your thing and could have done with a bigger flavour punch The Bombay Sandwich was bland. It was basically a cheese tomato and cucumber toasted sandwich. I wouldn't return to this place On a side note the place was FILTHY. Ants crawling on the floor which hadn't been mopped in god knows how long. They had opened at 12 so we were probably the first customers that day. The table hadn't been wiped. There was sticky and dried ice-cream on it. We were sat next to the orange juice machine which hadn't been cleaned in recent times. If the restaurant seating area is like this, what is the kitchen like?

Be aware about price guys.. checks receipts and items’s prise what they mention on th bord..n don’t forget to ask for receipts cos usually they are not giving ..I ordered strawberry shake was £4.95..there was one lady she took £5 from me for strawberry shake ..& she didn’t give me £0.5p back or receipts..then I ask for receipts and after she gave me ..but receipts was just £4.95 and then I said if there is no difference between price tag and receipt then y she took extra £.05 p .. she replied they increased price but they forgot to change..so just think about this guys..

Today we went for a chickoo rolls ice cream and kala jamun ice cream, sugarcane juice. I am impressed by the way we were served by employee Rudra. He prepared ice cream quickly and was interactive as well. We really loved both rollz ice cream prepared by him.

Came here two weeks ago and was told they can only accept cash payments so we placed the order and went to 4 cash points around the area and all of them were out of service. Went back and told the lady at the counter who then reluctantly said OK fine you can pay by card. I went back again today. Clearly their card machine is working and looks connected as it says "ready" on the display and this time the lady said the card machine is not working, you can only pay by cash. Would have given a higher rating if it wasn't for the fact that they're lying and causing inconvenience to customers, really unprofessional and definitely dodgy.

Staff [ woman] is very rude and she needs to learn how to talk politey with the customers

Got to try the ice cream rolls here. 🤤 Available in all sorts of flavours..... personally I would recommend the Mango, Lychee or the Rose Falooda.

We ordered a Bombay sandwich and gave explicit instructions to not add onion and garlic. But they gave us a side sauce which had both. But we ignored it. But after a few bites even the Bombay sandwich had onion. So disappointed really. Not worth it. The sitaphal rolled ice cream had no taste of sitaphal. So not coming back here. Chips was good though.

Snacks are good here. Takes me back to Mombasa. If you're ever in the area I would definitely recommend. Love their moga masala, unique taste very nice.

They have the worst service you can imagine. Don’t even bother ordering from here, they will keep you waiting for an hour and a half just to cancel it after. They are somehow always waiting for the driver who doesn’t show up. And then they ghost you. Absolutely terrible!

Ordered on Uber eats. Waited an hour for my order and when called the staff lied about the delivery driver but they had their own driver as shown on the app. After saying I'll receive my order and more waiting they cancelled it could have done it earlier if they had issues. Worst customer service and won't pick up calls either.

If you are looking for a mouth watering Indian street food, you just need to search only this place. Snacks are amazing. We had Pani puri and Samosa chaat. The spice was perfect. It wasn’t like spicy hot. We really enjoyed and definitely coming back again whenever we are in Lecister.

We ordered Bombay sandwiches and one ingredients was missing and that was potatoes which is must in Bombay sandwiches so I was really disappointed 😞

The price was a bit expensive for sugarcane juice considering it wasn't as sugary as I expected. Somehow I felt like the juice was mixed with water and couldn't manage to finish it because of the difference in taste that I was expecting and the taste that actually came out of juice.
