We went for breakfast, my husband and I had the full English breakfast and it was lovely , the service was first class and nothing was to much bother , will definitely be going back . While we were there we went around the farm shop.and brought some freshly squeezed orange juice( which went down a treat with my grandchildren ) and a soup recipe cookbook x.

Great place, beautiful garden and clean restaurant. Food and service was average. Prices were little higher for the place. Plates and cutlery were old fashion.

A regular place for us to pop in for some lunch. The surroundings are a little tired and dated but don’t let that put you off. The food and service is always excellent. Staff are very friendly and chatty.

Great location, nice name, cute garden centre in lovely area Very clean, spacious dining room We arrived around 10:00 on a midweek morning (family of 3) One customer in whole cafe, garden centre also seemed empty Shown to a table but with no hint of welcome from the waitress No condiments, flowers or napkins on table (nice wooden table) Weird, creepy canvases on walls but otherwise very bare Cheap looking laminated, folded A4 menu Food was ok but not generous and zero presentation style Crockery at least 30 years out of date Mismatched cutlery, sad and old The prices seem to be the only thing that have kept up with the times - very expensive for what you got The naffness of this place could easily be forgiven if the cafe was cute and homely, but the whole experience was devoid of charm. Pity, because the manageress we spoke to at the garden centre check out was lovely Customer service training for the cafe side of the business is essential £2K investment could make it look much better £5K investment could start bring in more customers and contribute more to the garden centre business £10K investment could make this place a genuine destination.

Visited yesterday service was pleasant enough shown the specials board then had to request a menu ! Food arrived quite promptly and was satisfactory but really very overpriced for what we had -portion size was very small for the money charging restaurant prices for cafe meals don’t think we’ll be returning

Food is good but pretty basic. Service good until it gets busy. Friendly staff and quite accommodating. Had leek and potato soup. Good flavour. Had tuna mayo on white. Quite basic but okay. If you like paying around £13 for basic but good then worth the stop.

First impressions of this pretty little garden centre was good We were looking for a light lunch . Greeted by a very officious waitress. Who asked us if we had booked a table. There appeared to be empty tables available. Then we were told to sanitize our hands. Then she offered us a table by the door. There were others available. We were shown to a table in the corner . It was like being put in the naughty corner! No menus on the table how were we to know what was available. Waited 10 minutes Then walked out We are a retired couple in our seventies and fully compusmentis. We live locally Never will we visit again or recommend this place to anyone until the staff are trained in good manners

we went lunchtime today nearly all tables were reserved for sunday lunch which did look nice but we didn't want one today so had a toastie & my husband had a jacket pot and a pot of tea 4 two it did cost £16 we did feel the portion was very small with hardly any basic salad garnish and the tea was in a really small teapot with tiny cups we just managed one cup each usually other places you can get up to 2-3 larger cups full

Home cooked food, which means slow service if busy. Only a small range of soft drinks plus coffee & tea.

Called with Mother in law and wife for Sunday Lunch. Very lucky to get a table as most were reserved by regulars. Can certainly understand why after having fabulous Roast Turkey with all the trimmings served with very hot veg and on hot plates . Desert strawberry merengue gorgeous too. Service was outstanding and all great value for money too.

We stopped off for a tea break and wander around the garden centre whilst driving through the area. We had tea and cake each and the cakes were very good which was reflected in the price. A wander around the garden centre shows the same policy. The plants are very good quality.

Regularly visit the garden centre and often pop into the Tea Room for a snack or sometimes a lunch. It's always very clean, hospitable, friendly staff and the food is very well presented and tasty. There is a good amount of choice, there are specials every day and a wonderful array of freshly made cakes and other sweet treats. It's child friendly too, plenty of room for buggies- although they can be left just outside the main eating area. There are always regulars in here which speak for itself.

We stumbled upon the Coffee Shop of the Strawberry Garden centre while trying to find somewhere to eat during a long distance journey. We enjoyed our lunch so much we came back again on this route just so we could eat again, and were not disappointed. They have been able to provide freshly made gluten free food, sandwiches and hot meals every time. The portion sizes are just perfect; not too large and not too small. It is clear they have found a number of regulars who come back again and again. They have a varied daily menu of comfort food favourites as well as catering for celebration afternoon teas. They have cakes, sandwiches, all day breakfasts and full hot meals and desserts. The coffees and teas are excellent as any baristas fare.Worth a detour for.

Good service with nice decor and friendly staff. Good choice on menu hot and cold and I had a window shop in the cake area. Had Welsh Rarebit and Eggs Benedict and delicious. One poached egg slightly hard but as a person who doesn't make them as know it is hard to time consistency still good.

Being back in Burton for another pub crawl we thought we would look this place up again for probably the last time as it is due to close at the end of October in an act of complete vandalism by Molson Coors, showing a total lack of respect for brewing history by planning to redevelop the site for offices. Have these people no morals or respect? Clearly not. As for the tap room and restaurant itself, it’s a fairly sterile corporate affair but at least the hanging pub signs in the restaurant section does try and give it a bit of character. And in my experience the bar staff serving behind the bar have always given the impression that they are suffering for their profession and would rather be somewhere else. Although cannot comment on the food as we have never eaten here and again were only here for the tap bar bit, but can certainly pass judgement on the ale and in that respect the beer was very good, but then you would expect it to be as it is the official tap bar for the Heritage Brewery, embedded in the National Brewery Centre next door, and they don’t have to travel very far. The Tap bar has six hand pumps and for our visit these were dispensing the Heritage Brewery Masterpiece IPA, Heritage Gold, Charrington IPA and Oatmeal Stout as well as Draught Bass and Elgood black dog on as a guest. I went for the Oatmeal Stout. It is not one of the best tap rooms I have ever visited, but it is probably one of the most famous, so I will be very sad to see it go, if this act of vandalism is allowed to proceed by the local council and the local MP. If it is then the very soul of Burton on Trent will go with it.

Again to be clear. The serving team does a very good job. Attentive and Professional. Always it's clean. Range is very limited, poorly thought out Junk food menus. Could and should do so much better. Plastic cholesterol junk food. Any motorway cafe across Europe does so much better. Rail stations too. Equipment forever breaks down. Poor preventive maintenance. Poor planning. Poor group management. Uttoxeter Store staff are good, doing a great job. Let down by Cowboy Group Management and lack of support. Good Staff leave. Some healthier foods, and better equipment preventive maintenance getting a grip? Store team 5 stars. Costa 2. Costa needs to really up its game. Cowboy outfit. It should be so much better. Get a Chef review, what is possible? Could sell more and be more. Costa lot for not a lot. Costa innovate for God's sake. Support the stores. Look at the competition. Are you mentally wrapped in Missionary opposition? At least try face up. Could be so much better.
