Only knocked down a star because I struggle more to find beers I like over the summer as they switch to predominantly pale ales

Great pub. Friendly staff, massive choice of fine craft and heritage ales. Definitely worth a visit if you're near by. Kiddie and dog friendly with good food as well.

Used to be a good pub with a range of beers, but now mostly sells Castle Rock beers. The beer quality is poor, it used to be excellent. Guinness is expensive. Seems to have quite a young vibe. The Test Match is better.

The abundance of drink on tap is amazing, so, many craft drinks. Fav of the castle rock pubs. Sweet outside area, gives the feeling of an old fashioned pub but with the sense of modern day! Will be returning for certain!

Lovely to see such a traditional pub, smart and kept well in a so called, trendy area. The beers are great, lots from their own brewery. The food looked good. I would definitely go back given half a chance.

Parked next to The Haven many times while visiting Trent Bridge and had never ventured inside. That changed today on a glorious sunny day. It was lunch at the cricket, we needed a drink and somewhere to kill half an hour. The pub is a nice find, a hidden gem indeed. Although we didn't eat, we certainly will on our next visit, the food looked divine. Comfortable seating, pleasant exterior and very staff make the pub worth returning to. We will. Recommended.

I do like the Stratford! It’s a great local pub in WB. My only gripe was when I visited last time (Forest home game) the toilets were absolutely filthy. Please regularly check and clean them! 🙏 🚽

Top Castle Rock pub with genuine pub feel. However, Curry ‘Night’ ends at 8pm. Just call it Curry Day, fellas. Solved.

The Strat is a great pub with friendly staff and a great selection of beers. The Sunday roast might well be my favourite Sunday roast in/around Nottingham - the crispy parsnip chips are absolutely divine!

It's a Castle Rock pub so that's always a promising start. Great selection of beers and although not eating there, food being brought to other customers looked good. It's a plain, non-pretensious pub. There is outside space as well.

Very. Poor Sunday lunch for £15 Beef was Chewy and tasteless , roast potatoes pale and not cooked in the middle ,nothing was seasoned, veg was ok but won’t. Be returning. ,

West Bridgford isn't short of places to drink and dine, but this Castle Rock outpost south of the river takes a proud place among them. Rumoured to be a former pet shop by the locals, it's retained a varied range of occupants. The beer is Castle Rock quality and the atmosphere matches. There are a number of little corners and a great snug. The outside terrace is a little summer sun trap and was well used in the 2018 heatwave. There's a selection of live music on through the week. Food is pub grub which is tasty and not over priced. Staff, as is always the case in Castle Rock places, are friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. No menagerie any more! This really does count as a proper local of real quality, and it's so well worth my several trips a month there. The Sunday pub quiz is something of an institution and one day, my friends, one day it shall be conquered!

The quintessential old style boozer - tremendous ales and exotic lagers. Not mobbed out with one armed bandits and televisions on every wall. Very popular in an area full of bars and restaurants. Packed last night after match at Trent Bridge. Still maintaining its standards and so nice to see people talking and not constantly looking at their phone screens. Update, unlike many things these days very little has changed but it doesn't have to as it keeps on working. Update Great night!! The Castle Rock Elsie Mo was in fine form. Pizza and a pint seemed popular and into the bargain a choir came in after practice and gave us some classics like "The Fields of Athenry and Myfanwy". Can't knock it.

Lovely atmosphere as soon as you go inside. The choice of lagers, real ales and wines is just amazing! Best of all, is the attentive bar staff for whom nothing is too much trouble! Will be visiting again for sure!

Quite a busy pub at times but plenty of staff to serve. Good selection of beers from The Nottingham Brewery and others. Not cheap prices, again in line with most pubs. Air con was welcome on my visit, outside with basic alleyway drinking area. Close to posher places to eat and drink. Worth a visit especially if you like a good choice of beers, bit like a beer festival. Not just a blokes boozer but some females as well but, more of a male drinkers pub.

A nice friendly pub well located for both the Football at the City Ground and Cricket at Trent Bridge. The pub has a wide range of real ales, craft beers, and lagers. Well worth a visit.

Sunday roast £13.95? Shocking value. Chicken VERY dry. Vegetables non- existent. Carrot mash the size of a finger nail. Not impressed

A nice pub but the least of my Castle Rock favourites. It’s not bad, but as a personal preference I dislike the small size, layout of seating and the poor lighting. Other Castle Rocks appear to have more character, where as this pub doesn’t demonstrate an obvious character highlighted throughout the venue that could link to the history of the building or the area. The staff could also be more knowledgeable in regard to the beers and more attentive towards customers. Despite this, the beer range is brilliant, as like other Castle Rocks.
