Can’t recommend Keyworth Tavern and Mark and his team highly enough. From meeting them to plan the “Celebration of Life” for my dad they were superb. Mark was attentive and listened to what Mum was after and absolutely delivered in every way. The staff were fantastic and Mark continued to ensure we were happy from initial conversation to checking several times on the evening. Highly recommended and can see why my lad goes in so often… Absolutely superb.

Great place for drinks and friendly atmosphere! Haven’t tried food here yet, but I’m lead to believe it’s great.

I’ve been to the Keyworth Tavern many times now. Mostly for drinks but occasionally for food. The team and Landlord do an amazing job providing great service, food and drinks! I am a real ale fan myself and I’m never disappointed with the selection the Tavern has on. There’s always something for everyone! I’ve had a few meals and they’re always delicious (they always seem tastier each time!). The Tavern hosts semi regular beer festivals with ales out of the barrels and tap takeover’s from local brewery’s and sometimes ones from further afield. If you’re in the area it’s a must visit and if you’re not in the area it’s a reason to visit! Top marks in all categories and look forward to seeing the Keyworth Tavern continue to thrive!

11 of us met for lunch today with most of us having traditional Sunday roast dinner. We had 2 friends from Italy in our party which the pub knew about and they put up an Italian flag at the top of our table - a nice touch. The food was excellent, great portion sizes and the cauliflower cheese was rich with a good dose of proper cheese topping. Tanya looked after us very well - attentive but never overbearing or pushy. The whole lunch was very good value for money and we will definitely be visiting again.

Our first visit, everyone was really friendly, Tanya our waitress was super friendly, food was excellent n LOTS of it, will deffo come again 👍🏻

Visited the Keyworth Tavern for a drink this evening and ended up eating as we couldn’t resist after seeing the group next to us with food. Both myself and my partner had the mixed grill which was outstanding, the meat cuts were excellent and cooked perfectly (rare often overcooked). Hats off to chef Zack for the quality of cooking and meat cuts selected. Will be visiting again as the whole team are so welcoming and standards always high Many thanks!

Almost 40 years ago I lived just up the road from this pub so it was my nightly local. Back then it was divided into a Lounge and Public Bar , now it has been converted into one, spacious lounge- The effect is of air and space, lots windows and lots of light. Immaculately kept by a very amiable bar staff. The pub takes an active interest the local community; playing host to the local knitting group, ukelle group and others. An impressive range of superbly kept ales, ciders, wines and spirits. Bar staff who know brandy should be served in a brandy glass! Comprehensive menu catering for all tastes, including vegetarian and vegan dishes; this is so very important in these times of growing awareness! A true Family Friendly pub that deserves support!

Played there last Saturday. A bit tight on space for a 5 piece band but great pub with a dining annex. Highly recommended.

I'm ew to the area & everyone has been fantastic, staff, regulars & general customers. The vibe is of a traditional family pub where everyone is welcome, including the family dog. Well worth a visit. Will update once I've tried the food. Best book for Sunday as I always miss out.

The Tavern was an in the middle distance wise for my family.Good ambience, very friendly service, Robin was very attentive to all our needs. Food was good and hot. Clean and tidy And not bad priced either. Plenty of parking. At the end of our meal Mark and Robin explained all they could do for our next family "do" Well pleased!!Well done Mark, Robin and crew!!

Decent price friendly staff nice food

Friendly warm family pub. Very pleasant easy going landlord. One gets a full pint too unlike a LOT of pubs without necessarily having to ask for a top up. Also camra discount which reminds me that I should rejoin :) Pity the smokers cannot be limited to only one of the outside areas though??

I have now visited this pub twice in the last couple of months with my family and it's been perfect both times! Excellent food, good atmosphere and brilliant friendly service. (the American lady who's served us both times is a delight and makes us feel very welcome) We definitely recommend the scampi & chips and the stilton & mushroom burger. 👍 Very family friendly and so happy this is now our new local.

4 of us went here for Sunday Lunch. We all had various starters, 3 had traditional pork/ roast beef dinner and 1 fish and chips. The fish was gorgeous, thick white flakes of fish and all cooked and presented perfectly. The dinners again were succulent and presented hot. (of late not had many hot dinners away from home). The reason I didn't give 5 stars is they served the gravy on the dinner, a couple of us would have prefered to have gravy served in a jug to put our own on. Finally they didn't have any Horseradish to complement the beef. Only minor couple of details. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and staff were very friendly and attentive.😋

Went In with family very polite staff very helpfu as wife being gluten free price was very reasonable too. Definitely go again. James.

Been in for a quiet drink this evening and I was appalled by the red headed boy serving behind the bar. He was repeatedly swearing under his breath thinking he couldn’t be heard, but he was wrong. I am surprised others couldn’t hear him being very rude about just about every customer, including loyal regulars, I don’t know what he said about me when I walked away. He clearly thinks he’s being clever. There was a lovely young lady from Ukraine I think who was working really hard and trying her best. She was asking him for help constantly, but he just ignored her throughout which was embarrassing to witness. He was clearly frustrated by his colleagues, but it’s just not professional to show it in such an expressive way that customers can see and hear it. I used to enjoy drinking in here but I’m not drinking here again if I see him on the bar, I don’t want to be in the presence of bigots and bullies. You’ve been warned but his apalling behaviour has really spoilt my evening, I won’t be doing it again.

This is a great pub, with amazing food and a superb atmosphere. It is let down by a rude foul mouthed little boy with red hair serving behind the bar. I was in there this evening enjoying a relaxing pint when I overheard him swearing at his fellow colleagues behind the bar and being generally offensive. There was a nice young lady from Ukraine working hard and doing a great job, but all this boy could do was be rude to her, even when she was clearly asking him for help. He spent the evening ignoring her, and constantly swearing under his breath, unfortunately he could be heard by others around the bar. This is not relaxing and I don’t like to witness this kind of treatment. I like drinking in here, but if this little boy is working in future I will turn around and take my custom elsewhere. Come on Tavern you can do better than this.

Smart decor, good quality and value food

Went for a late pub lunch. We had a rump steak baguette and a chicken tikka burger. Excellent food, really tasty, nice and hot and served very quickly. Highly recommended

The pub has ebbed and flowed over the years but is still going. Usual pub fayre on the menu. Fish and chips were OK, and burger was alright. If you want to pay more, go elsewhere for the same stuff, but if you want quick and easy dining, then the Tavern will suffice. Staff were pleasant

Very friendly pub and food not too vad but could improve the quality

Took my 15 year old son here. He is one of the worlds faddiest eaters, yet he demolished his steak and chips before I was even half way through my own meal. It's nice to have proper Gastro Pub Food, with good portions, and not one of these fancy rip-off places, that serve portions you'd expect to find between your teeth. My side salad was crisp and fresh, with firm lettuce leaves, rather than the usual leaves that have had many trips from plate to plate. I see the menu is about to change, please keep the new menu traditional and honest cuisine, and not budgie food. I would seriously recommend the owners lock the chef in the kitchen, and not allow him out. He's too good to lose. Cheers.

Went for Sunday lunch as we have just moved back into the village. A very pleasant environment. The 2 waitresses who served us were a credit to the team! Liked it so much we went through to the bar after our meal for another drink and found cards and domino's free to play! Wonderful experience will 100% be back!

Ideal place for refreshing drink at the end of a working week, just to a nice drink in the beer garden. The staff were very pleasant and professional in what they do, plenty to choice from pale ale or lager even cider.

A go to must, has a quiet private garden to rhe back of the pub, where you can sit and while away the time with a good ale, wine, beer or a nice G.& T. The manager is very welcoming and all the staff are great too! The food is good, but advised you book a table, especially on Thursday's for Quiz night and on a Sunday for roast dinners, you won't be dissapointed!

Its a nice place but there is a big fat lad that goes in there called Clive. He is very loud and he has got BO and his breath stinks. Hes an ex Meadows lad so its very understandable

Very popular local pub. Does decent food. The 2 for £14 at lunch is a good deal. Good selection of drinks at the bar and reasonable prices. Screens showing football, rugby etc. The pub is split into a bar and dining area and is as I said very popular. I would recommend booking to be certain if you want to eat.

A really pleasant and friendly pub with a good range of beers and an inexpensive and varied menu. Highly recommended.

Had a cappuccino, which despite the barman saying he couldn't make them, was actually pretty decent. ☺️

Lovely helpful staff. Unfortunately the food was cold and we were only offered veg that was hotter and no money off the bill. Toilets are tiny and the place could do with a lick of paint.

£60 4 sunday lunches. Veg cold... beef overcooked. Had to suggest replacement veg rather than reheated. Staff excellent. Venue filthy. Wouldn't return

I'm am of average build but the toilets are impossible to get in and out of without squeezing tight in corner. Friendly pub though.

Visited this place a few times since they reopened after lockdown as it's close to home. Nicky and his crew are really friendly and welcoming even though they have to implement all the new covid 19 guidelines as they crop up. Really impressed with the food, especially the sharing platter which we had as a starter but would be just as good as a shared main as there is so much on it. Overall a friendly and covid safe place to go for food or a couple of drinks 😃

We visited the Keyworth Tavern earlier this week - our first meal there! We were very impressed with the measures they have put in place, warm welcome and helpful staff! Very good quality food and very reasonable prices! We all ordered different starters and mains and enjoyed them all. A really lovely evening in these strange times! Thanks Nick and staff

I am writing this on behalf of my 77 year old Mum and her friend. They booked for lunch last Friday (11th Sept). They were greeted very enthusiastically by Nikki and handed a paper menu. Nikki explained the process of where they would be seated and that there was a one way system in place to exit. After Mum and her friend chose from the menu, the menu was screwed up and thrown in the bin - a very reassuring process to know that this restaurant has implemented single use menus. They were shown to their table with Nikki maintaining a distance and the table was in Mum's words "Spotless" - "You could see your face in it!". The food they ordered came piping hot and was delicious. They were not rushed to vacate the table and had a fantastic afternoon. Both Mum and her friend felt exceptionally safe, very welcomed and loved the food - they were worried in these times of going to eat out in public, but thanks to the Tavern and Nikki - their experience was very positive. Thank you for all the hard work that must have gone in to a well thought out Covid Safe Plan, and for being a local point for people to meet and be safe. Well done.

We visited on Christmas day 2019 for a pre-booked family Christmas lunch for 6 people and it was absolutely perfect - Big Thank you to all the staff! The food was spot on for all three courses, plus coffee and mince pies at the end. Really yummy, fresh, cooked to perfection and ideal portion sizes. The service was great and welcoming. and the attention to detail impressive - would 100% recommend to anyone, and we will be re-booking for next year. Very well done everyone at the Tavern! :-)

Not all dishes were available as they had sold out of some, I had cottage pie it wasn't to my taste my husband had the pasta which he really enjoyed.

Ordered " Pie of the Day " which was beef and mushroom. The beef was tough / undercooked and the pie barely warm; the small pot of peas was two thirds empty and a very small portion of chips. Likewise the Fish & chips was very poor quality and small portions. Not an enjoyable meal AT ALL and would have been better to have gone to the Fish & Chip next door!

If you have not tried Sunday lunch then you are missing out the food is very good and reasonable. Nick and his team always give a warm welcome. Well worth a visit and it is advisable to book in advance.

Second visit, could not believe the difference this time. Poor Starter, Part cooked main course. Sweet menu missing items. I have been writing reviews for almost 40 years and I can't believe that in a week this place has deteriorated to such a poor level.

Their pies are not proper pies, they are stews in a ceramic pot with a pastry lid! Otherwise it was fine, staff are friendly and it's cheap.

Busy so must suit some. Quick bar meal not traditional pub grub - it's almost like microwave food. Dog friendly though but not located anywhere which suggests walkers could benefit. Friendly staff who worked hard - it's the stuff they work with which isn't my cup of tea :-)
