Me and my wife came in for a lovely meal and drinks Was made to feel very welcome by a young man, I believe his name was Pete. Seemed very knowledgeable about the vegetarian options on the menu as my wife doesn't eat meat. Beer seems well looked after. Some of the best service by Pete And just a lovely pub Will definitely be back

Love this place; delicious and decently priced food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely worth the visit.

Had 2 main courses & a couple of beers & coffee. Lovely clean & cosy pub Staff were welcoming & friendly. Attentive service & food was really nice (we had steak pie). Nice ambience & fellow pub goers seemed happy. I’d def return again Locals are very lucky to have this as their local!

45 minutes for two nachos starters to arrive, and only after we gave staff a reminder. Starters were poor and main courses were average at best. Shame because the atmosphere and comfort was good.

The place was about empty but they are so short staffed they were running around like crazy. It took nearly an hour to get our food. I don't expect fast food but also know this place is chain and don't make everything from scratch. I came here after a similar experience a few years ago to see if things had improved. They haven't. Food was nice and it was reasonably priced.

However, what truly made our visit exceptional was the amazing service we received from Pete. We had a small issue with one of our orders, but Pete handled it with such grace and professionalism. He was quick to address the problem and ensured that our meal was rectified promptly. Not only did he make sure everything was perfect, but he also made us feel comfortable and happy about bringing up the issue in the first place. His positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond truly enhanced our dining experience. Pete’s customer service was top-notch, and I can’t thank him enough for making our visit so enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back, and it’s all thanks to the fantastic food and Pete’s outstanding service. Highly recommended!

We visited this pub restaurant to celebrate my partner’s birthday. We arrived at 20.00 which I thought may be too late to be served food but we were directed to a table where we chose our food. The staff asked about any food allergies either of us have and so we told them what I can’t eat. We had cheesy garlic ciabatta for a starter with me having rump steak and my partner having a mixed grill. Both were served with crispy fried onions, chips, tomato, mushrooms and peas. Our food was cooked to perfection and we had a wonderful evening. I was especially impressed when our food arrived at the table it was marked with little flags to indicate I have food allergies so to avoid cross contamination, it is the first time I’d seen this and was therefore rather impressed.

I was over charged and the staff member refused to do anything to fix the issue. Can not state how rude he was about it. I will never be returning.

Thank you to Peter who look after our party during a very sensitive wake. Highly recommend. Also loved the beer battered mushrooms. They were a hit!

Just wanted to say the guy at the bar idk his name but short hair a bit shy but really sound guy I bought a drink and then he showed me a table and where I could charge my phone really relaxed and just normal didn’t feel like bro was forcing being nice which is good I would say I’d come back but I’ve just arrived in nottingham would recommend though

Popped in for a drink, place was nearly empty, cask ale not great, used to be a decent place, don't think I'll return

We were looked after very much by a lovely lady. Food was ok but not great. Reasonably priced. Lovely garden and atmosphere.

For the Apple Tree, I tried a sea bass with mashed potatoes, peas and a parsley sauce from the Christmas menu with my colleagues. In spite of the lacking presentation, the food offered was genujnely “good grub”. In terms of the fish, I am not a frequent eater but I throughly enjoyed the flavour packed into the fish and the crispy exterior. However, I did not enjoy the green vegetables on my plate and felt that more flavour could have been offered. Aside from that, service is always great here and staff frequently check in on you to assist wherever they can and quickly serve you. For that purpose, I give a four star rating.

It was very reasonably priced here and the food was delicious! I would recommend this venue to everyone! Well done!

Lovely food, great for a midweek dinner

Website needs tweaking staff Very friendly staff are great at their job. Food is spot-on. You can’t fault it for the price.

The food was really good but the service was appalling, waited an hour for it to arrive and in that time we only saw two tables served, one of them was for a couple who arrived after us. If they are that busy why don't they inform you when you place your order what the wait is likely to be.

We had to wait 1 hour after ordering food which I think is not acceptable. If we had been told about this when we ordered we would have not stayed as we were celebrating and were hungry. When the food arrived it was gorgeous

Our party was very large and a lot of our guests were a bit disgruntled that the food was a bit sporadic. People were finished before others ha even started. That said, in my opinion the food was very well prepared and it came out piping hot, which is a big plus in my book. It could have been cold, it could have been warm, but it wasn't it was very nice.

Food is consistently good and table service excellent. getting seated was a problem on this occassion. I had reserved a table but waited over 10mins at a busy understaffed bar to ask which table. With it getting busier and no sign of queue lessening much I gave up found the table i though it was most likely to be given I asked for space for a wheelchair. Luckily I guessed right. from that moment on we had a lovely time and all enjoyed our meals apart from a small mistake with one order that we decided to not follow up as wasnt a biggie. Remains my fave localish pub to go to for good reasonably priced food for different budgets and appetites with lots to choose from.

Sunday lunch was good value Chicken breast was dry The app is over complicated for ordering. Why ask if every item is to be served with the main course when I’m ordering dessert ? Food was slow to arrive and there appeared to be only one lovely lady trying to serve the whole restaurant. Bar staff were less friendly- they seemed to have too much to juggle. You had to queue at the bar to find which reserved table you had. Then return to the bar to order drinks and food. One member of bar staff did have to apologise to other diners for waiting over an hour for mains to come out- he said the kitchen got lots of tickets all together and was falling behind !

Had a lovely Sunday dinner with my family on Sunday, service was fast and everything came out hot couldn’t fault it. Pete behind the bar was fantastic and gave us all a laugh which was well needed. Will definitely go back again and would recommend

The visit was for a wake of a party of around 45 people. I was the arranger and paid for it. The buffet food was very good quality. Unfortunately we had to provide our own table cloths for laying out the buffet food. That should not be the case for a lovely pub like The Apple. The coffee was provided by way of sachets and tea bags which was not ideal. At least a self-serve hot drinks machine should be provided, like the quality ones in Premier Inn hotels. The reserved area for our party was well thought out with ‘reserved’ signs on all tables. The bar staff were friendly and efficient. Another improvement would be to offer a wider selection of hot food for hosting special events like mine. For example a pot of chilli with rice, stew with potatoes etc. Overall I was satisfied as was my party members. Thank you to the Apple Tree management and support staff. N. Robinson (Chester)

This is a lovely place, there's a good menu selection. Food was served hot and every plate in our group looked very good value for money...... I need to return to sample more of the menu lol...... Staff were friendly and attentive and it's a warming atmosphere especially with the log fires.

Came for lunch this week and the food was lovely. I had one of the burgers and my partner had the mixed grill. Everything was superb. The members of staff are super friendly and welcoming.Highly recommend and will definitely be back 😊

Ordered the 3 course meal for under £15 and got a drink too. Was quite surprised on the quality of the food, massive portion of garlic bread for starter and pasta very tasty for main meal. Lovely brownie for desert. Ordered using the online system was very easy to use.

A slightly bigger table for 4, one in a wheelchair

This pub used to be our go to for meals out, catch up with friends or just passing through. However both my partner and I felt the whole place has gone down hill. Food was way over cooked, chicken was rubbery and salsa tasted like it had been open in the jar for about a week. Both of us have had upset stomachs for the past two days now. Sadly will not be returning anytime soon.

The pub is cosy and spacious with lovely fireplaces. There is only ever 2 staff waiting behind the bar. Took my parents who were here from abroad and was extremely disappointed with the food as most of it is cheap frozen food

Disappointed by a 50 minute wait for two meals on a Thursday when the pub was quiet. It was just before Christmas but it wasn't busy late afternoon. When it came, food was OK but not as good as usual. Eg, avocado in salad wasn't quite ripe. Nice atmosphere though and staff were friendly.

Okay pub in Compton Acres. Easy parking availability. Had booked table in advance but no need on weekday evening. Okay service and food. Little slow. Food standard pub fare, decent enough. Will likely come back occasionally.

We booked a table and was sat in the children’s area which was very noisy. I ordered a curry, this was fine. My husband ordered the hunters chicken, due to a restricted diet asked for grilled tomatoes instead of the onion rings mushrooms. The chicken was overcooked and the tomatoes had just been flashed on the griddle. He was very disappointed. He did mention it to the server who said she would tell the chef.

Typical estate chain pub. Food ok but not brilliant. Beer good and well kept. I took a group of 10 walkers aged 60+ there. Strangely, despite pre-ordering, we were asked to pay for the food on arrival before the kitchen would start it. So we had to wait 30 minutes. I just got a feeling throughout the whole process that we were not made particularly welcome in comparison with other similar places that embraced a large group. Sorry, just being honest.

Very good value bar food. They do a 2 course evening menu that is great value and also a lunch menu. It’s cheap and nice. There was a quiz that starts around 9pm on a Tuesday night also which was popular. There were quite a few in for a mid week night. Would return.

The time we waited for food was ridiculous 45-60 minutes with no warning it would take that long. Meals coming out at different times so as a table of 15 we didn’t all eat together for my daughter’s birthday meal.
