If you can find better cakes and coffee than you get here I’d be amazed. All home made on the day. They were so good we had to share extras. God value and nice outside area too. Well worth a visit.

Dropped in hoping to use the facilities at 7 months pregnant and was refused. I was buying a bottled drink so I couldn’t see what the problem was. When I asked where the nearest toilets were they were very unhelpful and told me there were some on the opposite side of the park that ‘might’ be open. Wish I’d not bought the bottled drink now. I have been here before for a hot drink when walking round the park and certainly won’t be returning. I understand with Covid that there are restrictions in place, but a little compassion would’ve been nice.

This is our local park and we walk round almost every day. We have been to the cafe once or twice before and ordered drinks to take out, it's very expensive and they do not take card payments which is a real pain. Decided to get a Sandwich to take out today. I ordered a sausage sandwich and a bacon sandwich for my husband, at £3.75 each not bad if the quality is decent but the sausages were cheap white sausages and the bacon sandwich had only 2 rashers of bacon. We also waited 20 minutes for this. It's such a shame because it could be a gold mine but it's just very behind with the times and not good value for what you get!

Needed to use to toilet at 30 weeks pregnant and was refused by the woman in the cafe, she then sent me on a half hour walk to the opposite side of the park in 29degrees heat to find there were no toilets available. I had to leave my family at the play area and walk all the way back to the cafe where I had to walk again to the nearest pub/resteraunt in the park where they were extremely polite and without question let me use the toilet. This situation left me very distressed and upset.

Was feeling very unwell whilst at the park and needed to use the toilet. Ordered a takeaway tea but then was told very aggressively that toilets were only for customers who sit in.They said they didn’t want people wandering in to use the toilet which I can understand but I was ordering a drink. I didn’t want to sit in as has left my children unoccupied in the play area as I desperately needed to use the toilet. Very rude staff. Not willing to help someone in need. Will not be returning here . I left in tears

A great cafe with a nice park walk. 1st class food and drinks at the right price. Warm, friendly staff. Dogs very welcome with the added bonus they can bring humans in with them. Free sausage for the dogs. No wonder it's Milly's favourite cafe.

Simply wonderful. We call at this cafe on a Saturday after the park run. This year they did Xmas lunches for a few dates. We booked. It’s a lovely little stone building with a lovely vibe. Yorkshire puddings were fab. I had turkey and my husband had lamb. Hope Stork Cafe repeat this next year. Very satisfied and full now. (Poached eggs are our usual choice on a Saturday. They are amazing too).

Attended with my children, sat down and when going to order to then be told they dont accept card payments. Food on the menu is reasonably priced, looks and smells good but the owners a missing a point...MOVE WITH THE TIMES AND ACCEPT CARD PAYMENTS. Wont be rushing anytime soon. Anyway I would definitely recommend the hot and takeaway on the main road near to the park, they do nice sandwiches and accept card payments.

Called to have a coffee and was pleasantly surprised to see all the homemade cakes etc. Lots of people inside enjoying homemade food. We sat outside and was served by very friendly staff - even the dogs were given a free treat. Would definitely recommend this welcoming respite

Over priced, no kids option (£4 for a sandwich) and absolutely no signage that they only accept cash. 3 very upset kids. I understand the prices and I understand the cash only option but there could be some signs explaining this. In this day and age seems daft to not have a kids option in a park and then not offer cars payments.

We called in for breakfast before taking our dog around the park. What a delightful find. The staff were so welcoming to us and our dog, who was given a chopped up sausage in a bowl for us to give her. This was a really nice touch and allowed us to feed her what we wanted too.Breakfast was delicious. The cakes looked gorgeous so we will be back!I can believe this little gem isn’t better known, however now we’ve found it we will definitely be back.

Lovely find in Thornes Park. Sat outside first time with dogs. Waitress was friendly and brought my dogs a treat when she served us coffee and cake. Second time no dogs just granddaughter say inside. Good menu, small but clean and all staff very friendly. Sandwich and drinks went down well all freshly made. Would definitely be back and recommend it to my friends and family.

My wife, myself and our two children have been regular customers at the Stork Lodge Cafe for well over a decade. During this time we have found Christine (the manager) and all of her staff to be the most friendly, accommodating and flexible of hosts. Over the years we have come with prams and babies, with two elderly relatives in wheelchairs (who have always been treated with the utmost respect and dignity) and with children in differing numbers and sizes. When my son was approximately 5 year old he had his birthday in the cafe and had a fantastic time there followed by ball games in the park. On other occasions, Christine has made wonderful birthday cakes when given advanced warning. This is a small family run establishment which provides a "warm and friendly" atmosphere to all visitors (and their dogs), often helped by the friendliness of a loyal customer base as well as the staff. At busy periods, service may take a little longer which should be expected given the small numbers of staff and the fact that the food is always freshly cooked / made to order. The cafe only has one small toilet which is generally kept scrupulously clean. Unfortunately, Thornes Park does not have any other easily accessible toilet facilities nearby and as such the cafe can be attractive to non-customers who want to use the toilet facilities (which would be to the detriment of paying customers). To access these facilities, people have to walk through the cafe past other diners. In order to prevent large numbers of non-customers using the toilet (which helps keep the toilets clean and available to paying customers), there is clear signage outside the cafe which stipulates the rules regarding toilet use. In response to a previous review which was critical of toilet policy, (in my experience) if staff are asked about use of the toilet by non-customers they politely point out and diplomatically enforce the rules of the establishment as shown on the signs outside, which I think is perfectly reasonable. This is our favourite cafe and we cannot speak highly enough of it.

Having walked around the park we decided to stop and have a cuppa, we were told we could bring our dog into the cafe but decided to sit out as it was a lovely day. The staff were very patient with us as we were quite undecided what we wanted, the drinks and cakes were brought out to us and they also brought some sausage pieces for our dog. The cafe could do gluten free toast and gf cake which is a bonus for me.

Popped in here after a walk in the park, we knew it was dog friendly so with our little pooch that was a plus. We both had the English breakfast, and whilst it took some time to arrive we did not mind as when it did arrive it was sooo good. Really tasty and obviously cooked to order. Will be returning

0 stars, INSENSITIVE TO DISABILITIES, HUMILIATED by manager in front of all customers after my mother with severe crohns disease came in to ask to use the toilet, she was REFUSED until she bought something there and then to sit in, wasn't even allowed to take it out, and couldn't use the toilet before handing over some money.. My mother nearly soiled herself in front of the entire cafe. Needing the toilet with Crohns Disease cannot be held off to buy something, she would have bought something regardless of if she wanted it after she had used the toilet. Manager loudly refused my mother in front of everyone and then we had to sit in, humiliated in front of all the customers who heard... I live round the corner and will not be using this cafe until this is sorted out.

We called here prior to going for walk with our dog. We sat outside as it's a dog friendly cafe believing you couldn't go in with a pet. Only to find out you could. The place is small had a few tables but is very welcoming. It's very clean and has a very friendly atmosphere. The proprietor was friendly welcoming our dog. We ordered a toastie and bacon sandwich. (With a cup of tea). The meal was fresh , warm and well presented. Plenty of choice on offer. The dog got some sausage as well!. We'll be going again when we next walk the dog in the park.

For a cafe that welcomes dogs, the interior certainly does not assist dog owners in settling their pets. Mum and I arrived to a stressful, crowded atmosphere. One of the staff was clearly rushing to serve customers and dropped an entire tray of crockery which frightened our dog. After 5 minutes of waiting and not being approached by any of the waiting staff, I collected two menus off the wall. I was then approached by one of the waiting staff and told in an abrupt manner "she's not serving coffee and cake at the minute and she closes at 2pm - she's got quite a few orders on" (we arrived at 1:30pm but on the listings online it does say it is open until later - this needs changing). We didn't even want coffee and cake - we wanted a nice lunch and after looking at the great reviews, were very disappointed with not only the atmosphere, but the service we received.

Asda Wakefield missed some pizzas off a click and collect order, without a substitute ( out of stock ?). When mentioned that I needed the items substituting for a children’s party, the employee went to investigate. On his return he produced the pizzas I had ordered, and the manager said that we could have them for free and apologised for the inconvenience. Well done Asda. A well deserved 5⭐️
